[Akonadi] [Bug 329779] crash without kontakt open (while background email check on POP3 runs on the default account and a mailinglist filter is used)

2016-03-29 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Feel free to close this bug as this is a bug report from two years ago. This
specific problem seems to have been fixed by patching a conflict with wallet
about a month ago.
At the time, there were all debugging symbols installed. If you want to do
something good to yourself, you can tell me what could I do to give you better
bug reports when kmail crashes (and belief me, it crashes still).

[krusader] [Bug 361067] krusader ignores icon size from its settings

2016-03-29 Thread Davide Gianforte via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361067

Every tab has its own icon size. When you change one of them, it's saved
locally. You can set the default icon size in both views in Konfigurator (brief
and detailed), but it affects only the new tabs, not the ones already existing.

  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

If you use a script or handwritten type font with the Artistic Text tool, the
overlapping segments of each character is rendered incorrectly. For example,
this font will reproduce the problem:
https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Damion

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new image
2. Add Artistic Text.
3. Change text font to handwritten or script-type text, or use the following
font: https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Damion

Actual Results:
The intersections between characters are not filled in.

Expected Results:
The intersections between characters are filled in.

[kdelibs] [Bug 361168] New: klauncher spontaneously says "Service '<.desktop file here>' is malformatted."

2016-03-29 Thread Naram Qashat via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361168

Bug ID: 361168
Summary: klauncher spontaneously says "Service '<.desktop file
here>' is malformatted."
   Product: kdelibs
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: klauncher
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: cyberb...@cyberbotx.com

While I have been unable to make this happen consistently, I have experienced
this a few times already.

At seemingly random times, KDE's application launcher will stop loading some
applications, but not all. For the ones it decides to refuse to load, if I try
to load them from a command line through 'kioclient exec <.desktop file here>',
it will bring up a message box titled "Sorry" that says "Service '<.desktop
file here>' is malformatted."

I was unable to figure out how to be able to attach gdb to klauncher to
determine why, but the message comes from the start_service function of
KLauncher, located in kdelibs' kinit/klauncher.cpp. Because I could not debug
it, I cannot fully determine if the reason is because service->isValid() is
returning false or if it is because of request->arg_list.count() being 0, but
those are only two places where the above message could happen.

The .desktop files it does this on are ones that worked prior to KDE deciding
to start bringing up the message. Even desktop-file-validate from
desktop-file-utilities will usually give no errors from the .desktop file that
klauncher is claiming is malformatted. So far, the only ways I have found
around this problem were either a full reboot or even just running kdeinit4 to
force it to get restarted.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Unfortunately, I do not have a reproduction path. The only thing I was doing
was going through every application in my application launcher and then
spontaneously it started to fail to load some applications, at which point
trying to execute the associated .desktop file from a command line with
'kioclient exec' gives the message from klauncher.

Actual Results:
Spontaneously, klauncher will stop loading some applications and running the
associated .desktop file with 'kioclient exec' from a command line gives the
message from klauncher.

Expected Results:
Normally, I would expect there to never be any problems with loading an
application from the application launcher unless the actual application isn't
loading due to a problem.

I am using KDE 4.14.3 (that version was not in the above version selector) on
FreeBSD 10.3/amd64. All components of KDE were compiled from the FreeBSD ports
tree using the system's version of clang, version 3.4.1.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361166] New: plasmashell crashes on startup when Task Manager sorting is "Do Not Sort" and there are launchers for unopened applications

2016-03-29 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361166

Bug ID: 361166
Summary: plasmashell crashes on startup when Task Manager
sorting is "Do Not Sort" and there are launchers for
unopened applications
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: othersi...@hotmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

plasmashell crashes on startup when the following conditions are met:

Task Manager sorting is set to "Do Not Sort"
"Show a Launcher When Not Running" has been selected for an application which
is not running during plasmashell startup

Started happening with Plasma 5.6, still present in 5.6.1 (using Arch Linux, Qt
5.5 was updated not 5.6 at the same time I updated from Plasma 5.5 to 5.6)

Reproducible with a fresh user account

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
With a newly created user account:

1. On first login, a default plasmashell layout is created (startup log and
config file "~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc" pasted below in
additional information)

2. Right click on Task Manager, click "Task Manager Settings...". Under
"Grouping and Sorting", select "Do Not Sort".

3. Open an application (eg. Dolphin), right click on it in the Task Manager and
select "Show a Launcher When Not Running".

Full config after these changes is pasted below in Additional Information.
Relevant changes seem to be:
> [Containments][1][Applets][4][Configuration][General]
> launchers=file:///usr/share/applications/org.kde.dolphin.desktop?wmClass=dolphin
> sortingStrategy=0

4. Close the application you just added a launcher for (a launcher icon will
show up).

5. Restart plasmashell (either by logout/login or from command line).

Actual Results:
After restart, plasmashell ends up in "stopped" state, leaving a blank desktop.
No wallpaper, Task Manager etc are shown. (krunner/kwin still work fine)

Notes:
- Changing either one of the config options on its own does not seem to cause
any issues.
- After the config is changed, everything seems to work as expected, the issue
only occurs when plasmashell is starting up
- If the application for which there is a launcher on the taskbar is running
when plasmashell is started, everything works as expected.

Expected Results:
plasmashell starts up normally, with a launcher showing for any application
which is not running and without sorting any applications in the Task Manager.

I am including the output from starting plasmashell as there seem to be some
errors or unexpected behavior eg multiple occurences of "QML Plasmoid: Cannot
anchor to an item that isn't a parent or sibling." Not sure if this is
related...

I have also pasted the autogenerated config from after the first startup of
plasmashell in case this is useful, as well as after making the changes.

My computer is a Lenovo T430s with integrated Intel HD4000 graphics and a
1600x900 screen (no external monitor attached for these tests with a newly
created user account). Can post additional configuration details if required.

It is able to move the window of application to the right screen (totally
blank), the window can be rendered correctly, but without wallpaper plugin...

My monitor's bottom is currently pointed to the right. To get it to line up
with the dialog I had to orient the digital one wrong. This is consistent
across two different monitors.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Flip your monitor so that the bottom is on the right side.
2. Rotate the screen in these settings until you can read it.
3. Observe that the bottom of the icon is on the left.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356175

I'm getting the same issue here, too.

Running startplasmacompositor via .xinitrc results in a black screen with a
Breeze-themed pointer. Pressing Alt-Space results in a delay and then krunner
dropping down shakily from the top of the screen with distorted colours, so
there seems to be something running...

Running KF5 apps using '-platform wayland' from inside weston works perfectly.
Plasma sessions via X11 work as expected. Weston/sway also run perfectly.

I'm running Slackware current with a kdesrcbuild-built git master Plasma
install (incl. kwayland and kwayland-integration), Qt 5.6.0,
wayland/mesa/nouveau/drm git.

I will attach my wayland session log.

Which version of KDE and KAlarm are you using? (Use menu option Help -> About
KAlarm to find out.)

Which time zone is configured as the default for KAlarm? Use menu option
Settings -> Configure KAlarm, and then select the Time & Date tab to check.

Do you use KAlarm's default time zone for your alarms? To verify this, open an
alarm and if you're using the default, no time zone will be listed beside the
Time Zone button.

I also see this, with kubuntu 15.10 running as a vbox guest.
konsole 15.0.8.0
kde frameworks 5.15.0
qt: 5.4.2

It happens if I try to launch from within the VBox instance, or even if I ssh
-Y in from the host (Gentoo). Doing a ps from that ssh session often seems to
show some drkonqui instances, but I can't figure out how to get the full
information from any of them.

In the KUbuntu - if I do Alt-Tab, I can see the konsole instances with a square
frown face icon, but nothing actually shows up as a visible window.

[krusader] [Bug 361067] krusader ignores icon size from its settings

2016-03-29 Thread Janet via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361067

I guess my fault is that I expect krusader to use the icon size specified in
its settings dialog. Now I see there is more than one icon size entry in
krusaderrc. The icon size for the panels seems not to be affected by krusader's
settings. The setting only changes the icon size for [KrInterDetailedView] and
[KrInterBriefView] - but that does not affect the size of the icons in the
panels.

Excerpt of krusaderrc:
--
[KrInterBriefView]
IconSize=32

[KrInterDetailedView]
IconSize=32

[Main Toolbar]
IconSize=32

[Startup][Left Tab Bar][Tabs][Tab0][View]
IconSize=22

[Startup][Right Tab Bar][Tabs][Tab0][View]
IconSize=22
-

When I use the button for enlarging the icons grow in size. And that size is
remembered by krusader and stored in [Startup][Left Tab Bar][Tabs][Tab0][View]
and [Startup][Right Tab Bar][Tabs][Tab0][View].

"Worksforme" so far... But shouldn't the settings for the icons' size change
the panel icons' size? If yes, it's broken. If not, it's useless and should be
removed

[drkonqi] [Bug 361160] New: drkonqi crash loop in QInternal::activateCallbacks(QInternal::Callback, void**)

2016-03-29 Thread Michał via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361160

Bug ID: 361160
   Summary: drkonqi crash loop in
QInternal::activateCallbacks(QInternal::Callback,
void**)
   Product: drkonqi
   Version: 5.6.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@op.pl

I just updated system to get new Qt hoping that it will eliminate never-ending
crashes of plasmashell. But it looks like with plasma-5.6.1 and Qt-5.6 every
KDE application crashes on exit. It doesn't affect non-KDE apps. DrKonqi gets
into infinite crash-report-crash loop.

It may be a bug in Qt - I have no idea, but some Qt apps that aren't
KDE-related don't have this problem.

Since I didn't know where to report general bug, I chose drkonqi. If possible,
please move it to the right section.

Application: drkonqi (drkonqi), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/usr/lib/libthread_db.so.1".

hm, you need to also install phonon and a phonon backend which are purely Qt4

the reason why you can't run amarok...

The "Until I permanently delete them" functionality is simply not available in
kmail.

Though it should not redownload them after you have deleted them locally
though.

So i think that you should spawn a new wish report about The "Until I
permanently delete them" functionality.

And also please update to the new kdepim based in KDE Frameworks 5 and check if
you still have this problem.

[valgrind] [Bug 360008] Contents of Power vr registers contents is not printed correctly when the --vgdb-shadow-registers=yes option is used.

2016-03-29 Thread Philippe Waroquiers via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360008

Sorry, I saw this bug but forgot to work on it, thanks for the reminder.

Here is what I think is wrong:
valgrind on ppc64 implements a ppc64 version that provides the registers vs0 ..
vs63.
The 'old' vr0 .. vr31 registers are mapped to vs32..vs63.
The 'old' floating point registers f0 .. f31 are mapped to the 'low' part of
the register vs0 .. vs31.
The 'high' part of vs0 .. vs31 is new.

However, the xml files describing the ppc64 target are still describing only
the 'old' ppc64
architecture.

When gdb connects to valgrind --vgdb-shadow-registers=no, then valgrind gives
to gdb
an xml file that describes the old arch.
I suspect that when giving --vgdb-shadow-registers=yes, the reply packet is
not containing
the values as expected by gdb, due to the missing 'new registers high parts' of
vs0 .. vs31.

Looking at the recent gdb descriptions of power, we see the following:

  powerpc:common64

The valgrind xml target is missing the power-vsx.xml, that describes the

So, I think that adding power-vsx.xml and the shadow power-vsx-valgrind-s1
and s2.xml
will solve the problem.
Note that gdb understands how to rebuild vs0 .. vs31 from the f0 .. f31 and
vs0h .. vs31h
registers. I think gdb will not understand how to rebuild vs0s1 .. vs31s1 from
f0s1 and vs0hs1 (problem similar to intel avx registers, described in user
manual
in 3.2.7. Examining and modifying Valgrind shadow registers).

Thanks for the correction on best package use. I'm using the master ppa

I did a little more testing. My default profile is 1080p 24fps. This is where
the error occurs. However, if you create a new project with the 1080p 25fps
(European film framerate), the reverse tasks works just fine.

Possibly something to do with the 1080p 24fps profile?

[marble] [Bug 360918] There are no line breaks in the placemark description

2016-03-29 Thread strag via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360918

I seem to have solved the problem. The placemark description is displayed using
HTML. To preserve the original text formatting should be added the tags
and :

QString text = ""; //added tag
text += "string 1, \n";
text += "string 2, \n";
text += "string 3 \n";
text += ""; //added tag

As I understand it, it is necessary to add a "framing" of text by tags to
function setDescription(QString). I never participated in opensource projects,
so maybe someone can fix it before I'll understand how it's done.

[kwin] [Bug 361091] Translucency lost when starting video using mpv bypassing the compositor

2016-03-29 Thread Thomas Lübking via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361091

The problem with the hint is:
"The compositing manager MAY bypass compositing for both fullscreen and
non-fullscreen windows if bypassing is requested, but MUST NOT bypass if it
would cause differences from the composited appearance."

This can never be guaranteed - an unredirected window shapes away the
compositor scene and as result will nearby inevitably impact the result (even
for fullscreen windows, some effect - like be::clock ;-) - might simply paint
onto the final scene) - that impact not generally detectable.
So basically the hint is to be ignored... m(

Also, if there was considerable benefit in pure unredirection *and* you could
guarantee that this does not impact the outcome, hell just unredirect the
window - why look at a property hint itfp?

So we put the focus on:
"window would benefit from running uncomposited [...] or that the window might
be hurt from being uncomposited" which is the reasonable part and also intended
by _KDE_NET_WM_BLOCK_COMPOSITING

The point is that a heavy GL game errr CAD studio!, windowed or fullscreen,
will largely benefit from being the only (ok, that one's lost...) active GL
context around, notably if you're short on texture RAM.

3. Cancel the offer to change profile
4. Add video to timeline
5. Audio thumbnail is correct
6. Remove the video from timeline

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: trilader+kdeb...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

When I move the mouse cursor to my second screen (on the right of the primary
one) or near the edge of the primary monitor any currently running audio
playback gets "stuttery". That is there are some clicks and distortions.

When near the screen edge or on the second screen plasmashells virtual memory
usage cycles between 200MB and 10GB. I think the audio problems could be caused
by the allocation and subsequent freeing of a large-ish ammout of virtual
memory in a short time

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I don't really know how to reproduce this. What I noticed is, that this bug
occurs after the screens were switched off for a while. It is fixed by
relogging or rebooting.

Thanks for the explanation. To me that sounds very weird, but understandable.
I'm not sure that bypassing the compositor here is a good idea, despite the
explanation by wm4 regarding mpv.

> You can still use window rules to override the hint (force composite
> blocking to false) if mpv doesn't provide a setting for this.
mpv does have a setting as described above. It defaults to bypassing the

[okular] [Bug 361158] New: Rotating page should not change magnification

2016-03-29 Thread Victor Porton via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 361158

   Version: 0.23.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: por...@narod.ru

I am writing an A4 PDF document.

I rotated a diagram in the document 90 degrees. In order to see it better I
used Okular menu to rotate the page 90 degrees in the reverse direction.

What happened after this almost caused physical pain in my eyes. The text was
very hard to read. I tried to rotate my head but this hasn't helped. I
suspected that resolution of my monitor is wrong.

Finally, I realized that the magnification has changed because my "Fit width"
was first for the width of A4 page, but now it was its height.

So I consider this as a bug that rotating page may change magnification. One
reason for this be a bug is that it just hurts eyes.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Rotating should NEVER change the magnification.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[kdenlive] [Bug 360829] 16.07.70 git master - can't use clip jobs to reverse clips in Project Bin - gives error (video example included)

2016-03-29 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360829

Hmm, cannot reproduce. I think it's not a good idea to have kdenlive packages
from one repository and MLT packages from another.

Could you give a try to our official Ubuntu PPA's:
https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive

We have 3 PPAs:

kdenlive-master gives you current git master
kdenlive-stable gives you 15.12 branch
kdenlive-testing gives you the 16.04 branch

These PPAs contain recent git versions of Frei0r and MLT. If you later want to
revert to another PPA, you can use ppa-purge to easily remove our packages..

This is due to krita saving the newly created templates in wrong folder.

> nope I build correctly for sure.
Do you understand that if you try building it on a system where it has been
previously installed that you can probably install it without any problem. To
test it, you need to move these three files:

KF5CalendarCoreConfig.cmake
KF5MailTransportConfig.cmake
KF5AkonadiMimeConfig.cmake

to a SCRATCH or $HOME area where they will not be found.

If you would please post your:

KF5CalendarCoreConfig.cmake

file, I will experiment with it and try to confirm that that is indeed the
case. It should only take one file to break the circle.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361156] New: When session is idle, lock screen fails to respond and panels are no longer present

2016-03-29 Thread Jacob Godserv via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361156

Bug ID: 361156
Summary: When session is idle, lock screen fails to respond and
panels are no longer present
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: jacobgods...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

Application: plasmashell (5.6.0)
 (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 5.5.1
Frameworks Version: 5.20.0
Operating System: Linux 4.4.0-pf6 x86_64
Distribution: "Funtoo Linux - baselayout 2.2.0"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I had VirtualBox, Chromium, Skype, Thunderbird, and Konsole open. I walked away
from my computer, and then the screen locked and powered down. I came back to
my computer and the display turned on, but the lock screen was not responsive
to mouse or keyboard input. (The lock screen was still animating the cursor and
updating the time, however.)

- Running 'killall -SEGV kscreenlocker_greet' causes the lock screen to restart
and becomes responsive to password input.
- Running 'killall -SEGV plasmashell' recovers the panels.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Plasma still depends on 5.20, so this should have worked without any need for
version bumping. I've seen this just as I pushed the version bump to kastats.
I'm not going to change the required version in p-d until we release 5.21.
