>From comment @18 it looks like X freezes while being on the inactive session.
As Fedora is mentioned I assume it's an X not run as root? If X freezes all xcb
requests are going to block. From client side there is nothing which can be
done about that. There is no timeout and no way to cancel.

I would be interested in seeing a backtrace of X at that time as I assume it's
also frozen.

This error message appears because "desktop:/folder" is expanded to
"/home/$USER/Desktop/folder" which in turn is passed to KRun as it is without
any scheme.
It is because the url doesn't have a scheme Krun displays the said errr

I've been at work all day. When I got home, I cloned and built from
git://anongit.kde.org/kaffeine
If I got the right thing, it's worse than before, for me. After a channel
scan, most are listed like:

Channel Number
#0 321:6 27
#0 377:5 26

Some are listed like:
Channel Number
026-1 26 San Francisco, CA 4

which is the old style but only a couple channels display info in Program Guide
and they have this form in the list, afaict.

I did blunder onto a productive dvbv5-scan command:

  dvbv5-scan -O ZAP -C US -I channel us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB

which gave me dvb-channel.conf

then

dvbv5-zap -c dvb_channel.conf -I ZAP -t 60 -o atsc.m2t KTVU-HD

so it worked when channel, not frequency, was given.

For some reason, files created like this won't play for me in my default vlc,
nor kaffeine. They play in smplayer.

Here is one from dvbv5-zap:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8GNdkp3znc2U1pZRkxwaEIwM0E

[rolf@p8z68 arch]$ md5sum atsc1.m2t
b2458ed54c46616e28fb5d9b2099393c atsc1.m2t

Please, give it a look, as the latest kaffeine I can find from git is
unworkable. Now, I can't even manually schedule a recording as the channels
are not identifiable, many are not tuned.
FWIW, here's the clean-looking content of the ZAP dvb_channel.conf with nearly
all my tunable channels present:

[krita] [Bug 364887] New: Pressure Sensitivity Not Working (only for Krita)

2016-06-28 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364887

Bug ID: 364887
Summary: Pressure Sensitivity Not Working (only for Krita)
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: tablet support
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: archta...@gmail.com

The Wacom Tablet Properties window seems to register pressure sensitivity, and
other applications (such as Adobe Photoshop Elements) can register it, but
Krita does not seem to be registering it. I have checked the brush settings,
and it should be working.

Only recently has it been starting to happen (today). It even happened in
version 2.9- when I updated to 3.0, hoping the problem would be fixed by an
update, it persisted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Draw with any pen

Actual Results:
It produces a scribble of constant opacity and size

Expected Results:
Should respond differently depending on pressure settings

2016-06-28 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364886

Bug ID: 364886
Summary: Desktop components either grossly oversized or
undersized when started with multiple monitors
connected
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Multi-screen support
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdebugzi...@gamblit.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

If a KDE session is started connected to multiple monitors (internal 1920x1200,
two external 2048x1152), desktop components are in general very big, but the
taskbar buttons text is very small. The problem does not exist if the session
is started with only the laptop internal LVDS, and the other monitors are
attached afterwards.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. With machine shut down, connect multiple monitors
2. Start machine and login to KDE

Actual Results:
The desktop icons, tray notifications, plasma-nm, etc are all oversized. The
taskbar buttons text is undersized to the point of being unreadable.

Expected Results:
Maintain correct sizing on all widgets

Running on a Lenovo W530 (NVidia proprietary driver), external monitors
connected to a docking station. Running a triple head setup with internal LVDS
panel at 1920x1200, two VGA panels at 2048x1152 each.

Bug ID: 364882
Summary: File rename dropdown box of options not saving past
rename layout
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.0.0
Platform: Mac OS X Disk Images
OS: OS X
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Advanced Rename
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: gski...@gmail.com

The box where you can type the new filename does not remember past rename
options.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. F2 (to open rename dialog)
2. Enter in new name or options in middle box such as "[file]_[date].[ext]"
3. Click ok and it works.
4. Do this again and the options entered in step 2 are not selectable as they
should be.

Expected Results:
Be able to re-use renaming options.

[kaffeine] [Bug 364860] Program Guide is empty

2016-06-28 Thread Mauro Carvalho Chehab via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364860

--- Comment #3 from Mauro Carvalho Chehab ---
I was able to find some bugs at the MGT and EIT parsing. Those are fixed at the
git tree. However, the only streams I had to test are some old records I made
in 2014 in South Korea. The EPG entries are all expired, so I had to hack the
code to display, as the code checks if the entries are expired before
inserting. It also flushes the old entries that got expired, making hard to
debug.

It would be really helpful to get a recent stream. Anyway, please test the
upstream git tree, as this bug should have been fixed there.

(In reply to Gerd v. Egidy from comment #91)

Thanks for that information. Unfortunately, once I started to fiddle with
locales, it exposed all kinds of horrible bugs in korganizer. (I won't bother
filing them, because the devs have ignored all of my previous bugs.) I'll just
move to another calendering application, and directly patch the clock widget
instead. Thank anyway.

To be able to play more video types, you need to install a video codec pack as

1. Open Kontact, switch to contact adress book
2. Add new adress book (google)
3. Edit or create new contact

By "OK button" I meant the "Unlock button" indeed.
I can't even switch user.
Also, if I replace mdm with kdm, it seems like I can't even login into KDE,
ENTER does nothing there, too... I don't even see any button to click (instead
of pressing ENTER)...

[krita] [Bug 364874] New: All brushes, zooming, panning are delayed

2016-06-28 Thread Bradley Speno via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364874

Bug ID: 364874
Summary: All brushes, zooming, panning are delayed
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0
  Platform: Windows CE
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engine
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: brad.sp...@gmail.com

I can't see any actions on the paint window as I am performing them such as
painting with any brush, zooming, and panning. The changes I make are only seen
10-15 seconds after I perform them. I reported this on a KDE forum and i was
told to turn on opengl, make sure to check that the brush I'm using hasn't got
a very low spacing setting; check that I have the latest version of Krita;
check that I haven't accidentally selected a 32 bits floating point per channel
colorspace; check that there isn't a virus scanner or something like that
running; and to check that my webbrowser isn't stealing all cpu. Opengl is
turned on; I tried to adjust the spacing settings but I don't know what a low
setting looks like on the graph thing in the bush settings; I have the latest
version of Krita; I dont know how to change the bits floating per channel
colorspace an I'm not sure what would be better than 32; not sure how to turn
off my virus scanner and not sure how to check where the CPU is closed but when
my browser is closed I still experience this problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Krita file (or blank document)
2. Try to paint with any type of brush or try to zoom or pan

Actual Results:
Document remains unchanged (zoom and pan location don't change as well) for
10-15 seconds.

Expected Results:
Show brush marks as I am making them; zoom and pan as I am zooming or panning.

Great program oherwise it is just frustating that it is so slow all the time

I understand you don't want to work on this, but... can anybody help to fix or
workaround this?
I'm affected by this problem (in the unlock screen, I can type my password, but
ENTER does nothing, neither does clicking on the OK button with the mouse). I
think this has started to happen after the latest X update on my Linux Mint

Previously it was working just fine.

I had the same bug on Arch linux (Plasma 5.6.5, framework 5.23.0, Qt 5.7.0) and
I tried to install vlc. As it was already installed, I let pacman reinstall it
and the confirmation dialogs for "empty trash" and "delete" don't crash
anymore. It seems to be linked only with vlc as I have phonon-qt*-vlc
installed. The post-transaction hooks are:
(1/4) Updating icon theme caches...
(2/4) Updating manpage index...
(3/4) Updating the desktop file MIME type cache...
(4/4) Updating the vlc plugin cache...
so it could be a faulty cache that causes the crash...

minimal parser support for block pointers, recognising them as

[akregator] [Bug 364872] New: Adblock not working because list(s) can't be saved on disk

2016-06-28 Thread Ömer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364872

Bug ID: 364872
Summary: Adblock not working because list(s) can't be saved on
disk
   Product: akregator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: oeceti...@posteo.net

For some reason Akregator uses kmail2's folder to save adblock lists.
Meaning at every start it shows a notification "could not download blocklist"
when infact it does but can't save them. (Maybe correct the error message here
since it is a notification?)

To be specific: The folder akregator tries to use is ".local/share/kmail2" i
found this because when I started Akregator via konsole it also complains about
being unable to open ".local/share/kmail2/adblockrules_local".
After i created the kmail2 folder (i don't use kmail so the folder wasn't
there) Akregator created adblockrules-0 and adblockrules-1 the error message
about adblockrules_local also went away although adblockrules_local still isn't
there.

btw the current version (5.2.2) is missing in the list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a filter list

Actual Results:
The ads are still there since Akregator can't save the list and doesn't use it.

Expected Results:
Ads get filtered according to list

Maybe the blocklists should be saved in a seperate folder which is not used by
any application like e.g.:

".local/share/filterlists/akregator_adblockrules-X"

middle-mouse-click does not terminate open files when they are in a group! You
should trigger exactly right on the x icon to close a window! This is a
awkward!

It can terminate the whole group, but it can not terminate per each file in a
group.

Here is my task-manager config:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Choose 'Close Window or Group' for 'On middle-click' in task manger
settings.
1. Enable 'Grouping' in task manger settings (And ticked of the 'Only when the
task manager is full' option)
2. Open some same files (Try to open some new kwrite)
3. Keep mouse on the group to see instances, then try to close one by
middle-click --> that does not work here;

Expected Results:
When we define 'Close Window or Group' in task manger settings for the option
'On middle-click', it's expected to close thing by middle-click even parts of a
group one-by-one.

>
Actually if you set QT_MESSAGE_PATTERN so you see timestamps, e.g. following
https://woboq.com/blog/nice-debug-output-with-qt.html , and compare it to your
watch: then you see that the suspend session calls only happen after you've
switched to the other user. The "Current session is now active" lines only
happen later because (a) that's how the timing of dbus-vs-xcb events works out,
and (b) powerdevil does a roundtrip back to the logind dbus service to see what
the currently active session is.

So it gets events fired when it wasn't active, but not until it's active again.
Then the policy code checks whether it's active and of course it is, so the
suspend goes ahead. Then the active-tracking parts of powerdevil realise it's
active just after it resumes.

says again it's now active.

Unfortunately, recording using Kaffeine won't work, as it will filter just the
program IDs that are associated with the service ID that you're watching (e. g.
video and audio streams only).

Feel free to ping me at #linuxtv channel at freenode.net. Maybe I can help you
to record using dvbv5-zap.

Please try Qt 5.6.1. According to the backtrace, the bug is in Qt's xcb
platform plugin.

If this is still reproducible with newer Qt version, please report this error

Created attachment 99751
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=99751=edit
stacktrace showing that main thread of other user's kded5 is blocked in
xcb/xlib

Can you identify the kded5 process PID belonging to the user you're about to
switch to with
$ ps aux | grep kded5

Then do
$ pstack PID
(as root or in logged in as the other user via your terminal) and paste the
results here?

On Fedora 22 I get the attached result. It looks like powerdevil gets stuck in
xcb while waiting for a reply from an Xlib call (one that should return
straight away). And I see QXcbConnection::processXcbEvents further up the
stack. Maybe there's a problem with nesting the xlib-on-xcb eventloop inside an
xcb event?

Whatever's happening, it seems to get unstuck when you actually switch to the
other user and all the kidletime events come flooding in. I also see floods of
other events in kded, e.g. the software update applet spams me with a load of
identical messages telling me how many packages are due for update.

If this is indeed the problem, completing the port of kidletime to xcb looks
like part of the long-term solution. I think there were problems when that was
tried before but hopefully everything that is called from the xcb event can be
ported.

I'm sorry, but that works for me. What desktop are you using? Since you say you
build yourself, you probably have platform integration instead of the default
Qt file dialog -- so if you're using Gnome, maybe the GTK file dialog got
messed up again in new and wonderful ways.

Xcode doesn't have an equivalent to KDevelop's context browser that pops up an
informational window when hovering over a variable, argument or function. It
does have "intellisense"-style code completion; this is what it shows as the
suggested completion for a method taking a single block pointer argument.

Can you run kded5 from console on the other session and switch to it after a

I've done a few now tests on Ubuntu 16.04, and found a pattern that triggers
the bug very easily:

1. Select Eraser_circle, erase something;
2. Save the change with Ctrl+S

When the save dialogue is finished, the normal mouse cursor will appear.
Apparently, the longer Krita stay opened, the more you use save, the more often
the mouse cursor appears, until it happens every time you do a save.

At least it has something to do with that SAVE dialogue, I guess?
