@Andrej: if llvmpipe is loaded it means that the driver doesn't work. That's a
setup problem and completely unrelated to the problem described in this bug
report.

A possibility for KRunner could be to set itself as a Panel. @Kai: I think on

There's not much we can do here. KWin on X11 is not supporting any touch events
and on Wayland we are still blocked by the Visual Design Group. I requested the
VDG to come up with a proposal on how to handle global touch gestures quite
some time ago and they haven't come up with a plan yet. See
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=285=125570

As long as there is no plan on what our touch gestures are supposed to do and
how to look like, we cannot implement them. Setting to resolved later as there
is just nothing we can do while we are blocked.

This doesn't sound like a problem in our software, but rather in deeper in the
stack (Xorg, OpenGL driver or drm). First of all: if you are using Intel
hardware please switch from xorg-intel to xorg-modesettings driver and check
whether the problem persists.

If that doesn't help, please try to investigate a little bit more. E.g. check
with dmesg or in /var/log/messages and /var/log/Xorg.0.log for error messages
related to what you see. Also try to unlock the system without using the
greeter:
loginctl unlock-sessions

[plasmashell] [Bug 370388] New: No panel on login / second screen settings not saved.

2016-10-09 Thread Steven Haigh via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370388

Bug ID: 370388
Summary: No panel on login / second screen settings not saved.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Multi-screen support
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: net...@crc.id.au
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

This has been fixed in one of my other systems - but in this hardware
configuration, it seems that maybe having another screen connected but disabled
may break some logic.

Hardware:
* Dell Lattitude E5530 with 2 x DVI screens on docking station.
* Laptop lid / screen closed.
* Graphics: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev
09)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
On login, I do not get *ANY* panel. Both screens are at default settings. Upon
running 'killall plasmashell && plasmashell &', I get the primary screen with
panel + saved settings, whereas screen 1 is either blank or at defaults.

class where the crash happened according to the backtrace. Send me a

[plasma4] [Bug 349915] Moving the mouse while clicking an entry in the taskbar starts drag instantly (usability)

2016-10-09 Thread João Vidal da Silva via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349915

--- Comment #4 from João Vidal da Silva ---
That setting makes a difference for a regular left-button-stays-pressed drag.
But the 'funny' thing going is that the drag operation stays locked, as
rnd...@nm.ru noted, with the icon having a plus sign (I'm using Breeze icons,
in case that matters). I don't even know how to consistently reproduce this.
So my result for the test you suggested is ambiguous.

Hi - regarding email addresses in the headers of incoming emails.
Right-clicking on those already in my Contacts gives the standard "Edit Contact
Option".

But - email addresses with underscores in them are not recognised, and give the
options of "Add to Address Book" and "Add to Existing Contact".

(My first bug report so apologies for any errors, or being put in the wrong
location etc...)

2016-10-09 Thread Chris Jones via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370237

I forgot to add that this problem resurfaced in the first 3.1 beta (3.0.99.90),
so I'm still using 3.0-9e17aff since that's the most recent build that doesn't
exhibit the problem. I don't recall when it initially cropped up (it might
have been in the switch from 2.9 to 3.0) and then was subsequently fixed, but
I'll try and locate those versions if that would help in tracking down the
issue.

In my case Kwin doesn't even seem to recognize the presence of the nvidia
driver.

I have an NVS 510 card with 370.28 driver. The driver loads fine but Kwin uses
the LLVMpipe. This is happening with KF 5.8.0, was fine before.

Not sure if it's related to this bug or should I open another one. More

[plasmashell] [Bug 356479] plasmashell uses 100% CPU when there is an animation in the task bar

2016-10-09 Thread David Edmundson via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356479

We have about 3 different bugs all merged into one here, which is partly why we
haven't moved this much.

We have:
1) The heavy kiconloader usage when using an SNI which is updating constantly

2) We have the extreme number of pointless X messages causing us to spend lots
of CPU time in nativeEventFilter (and thus strcmp)

3) Any other GL related delays stuff, such as (hopefully now gone) NVidia busy
loop waiting for vsync.

Lets keep this bug as (1) and can close with https://phabricator.kde.org/D2986

I will reopen as 370003 issue for (2) and track that there.

For that reason, when this is merged if you still have high CPU, please don't
reopen this as it's probably a different cause.

However, I also reproduced it with plasmashell not running.

Therefore it's not a Plasma problem. Sorry.

Same here, but a few additional bits of info:

Under wayland I can change the screen/row values (arrow keys)

The number of desktops available is not in any way influenced by the screen/row
values while under wayland.

Reguardless of screen/row numbers, the desktop pager is blank and doesn't do
anything. However, the key bindings I have set up to change desktops does work.
So the Desktops are there, just the pager widget fails to be of any use.

behalf of Pritam Baral.
Committed on 09/10/2016 at 23:14.
Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'Plasma/5.8'.

Center the notification label on Breeze's lockscreen

and make it use the full width before wrapping

Test Plan:
Tested on the same system that reported the bug; works for all
combinations of font, font size and DPI tested.

Thank you for your attention and for the quick response from you.
I accessed the project forum "socketsentry"
and I sent a message to
Rob Hasselbaum, which seems to be the package developer. I asked him if there
are plans to update the software socketsentry for Plasma 5. The last movement
of that forum is the year 2011, I hope Rob is still working on this project.
Thank you

[neon] [Bug 370383] New: Dependencies for KDE build are broken

2016-10-09 Thread Roman via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370383

Bug ID: 370383
Summary: Dependencies for KDE build are broken
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages User Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: subd...@gmail.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org

I. Using these dependencies for frameworks:
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source/Install_the_dependencies#deb-based_distributions_.28Debian.2C_Neon.2C_Kubuntu29

The problem is the regex "libkf5.*-dev", which leads to attempted downloads of
deprecated and incompatible packages. These packages had been removed from Neon
repos but are then still selected by falling back to the Ubuntu repos.

libkf5akonadisocialutils-dev was probably removed from Neon repos, but is still
found in version 15.12 in the Ubuntu repos.

But there is also breakage in Neon directly:
libkf5composereditorng-dev depends on libkf5composereditorng5 16.04 and
kf5-kdepim-apps-libs-data 16.04, but which is 16.08 in Neon.

II. Stuff not because of the regex (part of the dependencies for Plasma and
Applications):
1.
libqt5xmlpatterns5-private-dev : Depends: libqt5xmlpatterns5-dev (=
5.5.1-2build1) but 5.7.0-0neon+16.04+build3 is to be installed
2.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libqt5declarative5 : Depends: qtbase-abi-5-5-1
  Depends: qtscript-abi-5-2-0

Reproducible: Always

Error raised here means there's something broken with your openGL drivers.
One common cause is NVidia's libGL installed, but the NVidia kernel module
missing.

Git commit 1e70d63a9439f48b5f1a70accac531a10f4e4239 by Daniel Vrátil.
Committed on 09/10/2016 at 22:52.
Pushed by dvratil into branch 'Applications/16.08'.

Create AgePostingSource on heap

There was an undocumented behaviour change in Xapian 1.4 where
Xapian::Query() no longer internally creates a clone of the
PostingResource that we pass to it and instead takes a (shared)
ownership of the pointer that is then re-used later while
the actual query is being executed, which means that the
PostingResource must live at least until the query execution
is finished.

We were creating the AgePostingSource on stack, which lead to
use-after-free in Xapian 1.4.

[okular] [Bug 370382] New: Using non-default size for custom stamp pixelates the stamp

2016-10-09 Thread Carl-Daniel Hailfinger via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370382

Bug ID: 370382
Summary: Using non-default size for custom stamp pixelates the
stamp
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: c-d.hailfinger.devel.2...@gmx.net

Using the "custom stamp from PNG/SVG file" feature in okular 0.26.70 to e.g.
add a signature to a PDF will result in the signature being pixelated with
varying resolution if the size of the stamp is determined manually with
click+drag during creation. This problem affects both PNG and SVG stamps. The
pixel size is roughly 1 mm, but it varies.

This is probably caused in the source by importing the custom stamp file as
icon instead of using the same way as the other SVG stamps shipped with okular.

David I tried and it didnt work,

some numbers for my case,
heading.height and heading.implicitHeight , are both 29 in my system
searchInput.height is 0 in the beginning,

if I set directly
Layout.minimumHeight: 30 //for header
the problem is fixed, it is one pixel difference, I suppose 29 gives us icon
size:24 and 30 gives us icon size: 36
is this is why it is fixed that way?

I hope that helps

The new Leave-screen looks good, but it's sometimes difficult to detect the
selected item, because the different white tones for activated and not
activated items are quite near to each other.

Also with a noisy background, it is general difficult to read.

And for some reason with software rendering (Gallium, llvmpipe) it doesn't show
the highlighting of the selected item at all until you click somewhere else to
cancel the timer.

Yes, that seems to fix it for launcherUrls.

However, I was playing around with the rest of the configuration and discovered
that the popup, which I did not try before, does not seem to not load its Urls
either.

So with the earlier changes to layout.js, add this:

quicklaunch.writeConfig("enablePopup","true");
quicklaunch.writeConfig("popupUrls","file:///usr/share/applications/org.kde.kcalc.desktop,file:///usr/share/applications/org.kde.kate.desktop");

[neon] [Bug 370374] New: GRUB menu has huge lag due to theme

2016-10-09 Thread Roman via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370374

Bug ID: 370374
Summary: GRUB menu has huge lag due to theme
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: subd...@gmail.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org

On my 4K monitor with Intel graphics the GRUB menu is extremely slow, when the
theme is used. With the new black and white theme though it's a bit better than
with the old blue theme.

Every second counting down needs additional time to calculate the graphics and
switching from one boot option to the next one can cause a delay of several
seconds per item.

I've read that this can be caused by the use of scrollbars. See here page 73:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B82343FTJphIbElHUGVac1hBZnc/view

Maybe the progress bars are the problem here?

It's at the moment still a legacy DOS system and I haven't changed anything
about the GRUB files except for a briefer timeout.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 370373] New: Please sort on saving index.xml

2016-10-09 Thread Martin Jost via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370373

Bug ID: 370373
Summary: Please sort on saving index.xml
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: XML backend
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: nos...@majo.name

Currently it seems the isn't sorted in any way in the
index.xml.
It seems in addition that it gets rearranged on saving.
I keep my index.xml versioned using RCS and I usually do a rcsdiff before
committing an updated version.
For this purpose it is good to have as few changes as possible and above all
only "real" changes.
While i see that the order is irrelevant for KPA (so it probably doesn't care)
it is annoying for diffing versions.
(I do this to avoid screwing up my DB)
So I would like to see sorted reasonably. My suggestion would
be to sort by
category/group-name/member (in this order of precedence)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a new tag
2. rcsdiff the newly created index.xml
3. It not only differs in the newly added tag, but the order within
 changed in many places

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
Only changes in for actually added/changed/removed tags

[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 370372] New: implement ordering of activities in activity pager

2016-10-09 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370372

Bug ID: 370372
Summary: implement ordering of activities in activity pager
   Product: kdeplasma-addons
   Version: 5.7.5
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@equaeghe.nospammail.net

I have a number of activities and in the pager they appear in seemingly random
order. From bug 362774 I gather that this order will become alphabetic in an
upcoming plasma release. However, alphabetic ordering is inconvenient, given
that there is no fixed connection between the name of the activity and the
position I'd like to assign to it in the order, except if I artificially add
some prefix to force the order.

So I'd like to request that a chosen order, or rather 2D position, of the
activities in the pager is made possible.

Reproducible: Always
