--- Comment #2 from Maarten ter Huurne ---
I had a crash of Konsole today with a very similar backtrace. However, I had
seen that backtrace before, when kmix crashed, which I reported as bug 370650.
So I think it's a problem in a library rather than in Konsole itself, but I
don't know which library to file it on.

Application: konsole (15.12.3)

Qt Version: 5.7.0
Frameworks Version: 5.27.0

[kmix] [Bug 370650] Crash on session restore

2016-10-21 Thread Maarten ter Huurne via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370650

--- Comment #6 from Maarten ter Huurne ---
I had a crash of Konsole with a very similar backtrace (also "Internal error:
got invalid meta type %d (%s) when trying to convert to meta type %d (%s)") and
found bug 369050, which reports what looks like the same problem. So I think
it's a bug in a library rather than the application, but I don't know which
package it should be filed on.

hi
my kimtoy code is written to be like the following
tray = new KStatusNotifierItem(this);
tray->setAssociatedWidget(tray->contextMenu());

the context menu was made to be the associated widget

however, after the changes in this bugfix commit
there is always ugly window frame and taskbar entry shown when i activate the
context menu with left mouse click

so, i have to use eventfilter to restore the old behavior, and this bug too

[konversation] [Bug 371475] New: OSD textBuffer has unbounded size

2016-10-21 Thread Jason Tibbitts via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371475

Bug ID: 371475
   Summary: OSD textBuffer has unbounded size
   Product: konversation
   Version: 1.6.2
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: notifications
  Assignee: konversation-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ti...@math.uh.edu

I use znc and let it buffer messages while I'm offline, so when konversation
connects it may get hundreds of messages sent all at once. This results in the
OSD going through messages, one at a time, for quite a long time. (Really,
I've had it go for several hours before.)

In viewer/osd.cpp, OSDWidget::show() will append the string to be shown to
textBuffer if the timer hasn't expired. It seems to me that a quick check of
textBuffer.size() to limit the queue to something like 20, or (60 / (the
message display time in seconds)) would solve the problem and not really lose
any useful information, since any messages you'd display after that would be
somewhat out of date.

It's been over 20 years since I wrote any C++ so I don't have a patch to
contribute, but I figured I'd open this so I don't lose the bit of research I
just did. If I can find the time I'll try to hack something up, but of course
I don't really know what I'm doing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Connect to ZNC with a lot of buffered content.

Actual Results:
OSD flashes through messages for five or six hours.

Expected Results:
OSD flashes through some content, but only queues enough messages to run for
about a minute.

As title says.

Example: When I choose Dark breeze and click Use KDE color scheme, Dark breeze
scheme will be rewritten without asking my If I'm sure or waiting for me to
click save. This can't be undone so Dark breeze is rewritten by whatever color
scheme KDE actually used.

That operation should be reversible AND saved to config file or whatever AFTER
clicking save button.

Click "Use KDE color scheme" in "Fonts & Colors" options.

Actual Results:
Color scheme changed without my permission

[plasmashell] [Bug 371472] New: Icon drawing of active programs

2016-10-21 Thread Jón Frímann via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371472

Bug ID: 371472
   Summary: Icon drawing of active programs
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: jonfr1...@jonfr.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

This is a odd "bug" (I don't consider it a feature). It is possible to move
icons of active programs from the task manager to a other areas of the screen.
This has the annoying side effect that sometimes the active program is brought
into moving mode and it's impossible to properly get rid of it. If it is
dropped into Firefox all that comes up is a random Chinese letters. I have not
found an option to disable this behaviour in the Task manager.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into KDE Plasma 5.8.2. Click on active program and move the icon of the
active program.
2. Go to task manger and move the icon.
3.

Actual Results:
Active programs can be moved to areas outside of the Task manager. This should
not happen (according to the settings menu).

Expected Results:
It should not be able to move the icons around outside the task manager.

The chinease text that shows up when Firefox icon (I've also tested this using
the Shell window, shows the same information).

I can confirm this bug; after installing Linux 4.8.3 and rebooting, plasmashell
crashed 3 times in a row. My right monitor was completely black except I could
mouse over it, just like the description in Bug 370916. My stack trace is also
very similar to the one in 370916, but differs slightly from the one in this

[krita] [Bug 371470] New: Slow updates and wont save

2016-10-21 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 371470
   Summary: Slow updates and wont save

   Version: 2.9.7
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: File formats
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: shadwol...@gmail.com

Trying to edit something and using the Move Tool to move something around, but
it's slow at updating, and then it fails to autosave because it's stuck trying
to update. It gives me popup saying unable to save. I've tried giving Krita
more memory but it still acts so slow for updating. I increased its memory
limit to 80% and increased the other memory settings accordingly too, but it's
still not enough to make it update fast enough.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Increase pool memory to max allowed.
2. create something and use the move tool, text, or imported image layer
3. try scale and move the object around.

Actual Results:

[neon] [Bug 371466] New: Some web links don't work in Neon, throws numerous kde-open5 errors related to Qt

2016-10-21 Thread Beer via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 371466

kde-open5 errors related to Qt
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages

This happens 100% of the time in Teamspeak. I've seen it occur in one other
program but I can't remember which program it was. I do not have any issues
opening links in Mint 17 with KDE4, or on any of my other non-KDE linux
machines. Which leads me to believe this is strictly a KDE issue, and not a
teamspeak bug.

Clicking a link in the chat area in Teamspeak will produce the following
errors:

2016-10-21 Thread Filip via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371465

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de

Greetings,

Ever since Plasma 5.8 the notification theme has been broken for me. Namely,
the theme is identical to the one XFCE uses (ZOMGponies or perhaps Greybird?).
The theme stays the same regardless of which desktop theme I choose and will
only change its color.

You can see what it looks like in the following screenshots:

Notifications in Plasma: https://i.imgur.com/8kHfh2D.png
Notifications in XFCE: https://i.imgur.com/y5gbmjP.png

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.update to Plasma 5.8
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Notification theming was broken and some XFCE theme is used.

Expected Results:
I believe it looked something like this before:

I think you might be able to use dos2unix to modify the file into a usable
format, or at least confirm info about the encoding and BOM. It may take a
while to wade through all them options and parameters.

--- Comment #1 from Matt Cowell  ---
Created attachment 101695
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=101695=edit
Increase allowed offsets for ARM early writeback of SP base register in strd

GCC 5.4 (and likely all versions 4.8+) have a larger (unlimited?) range for
using strd to allocate the stack frame, at least when compiling with
-mcpu=cortex-a15. ld.so and libc compiled with GCC 5.4 have offsets up to
#-40: "strdr3, r4, [sp, #-40]!".

Without this fix, hundreds of "Invalid write of size 4" ... "below stack
pointer" errors are logged, starting in ld-*.so, which of course leads to
millions of "uninitialised value" errors being logged, and valgrind becomes
useless on ARMv7 / Cortex A15.

This simply removes the check for a -8 or -16 byte offset, since all offsets
should be allowable for allocating a stack frame.

the channel, however if it was already running it just opens the Konversation
window without doing anything.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

[krita] [Bug 361766] Brush editor context menus don't work

2016-10-21 Thread Scott Petrovic via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361766

--- Comment #7 from Scott Petrovic  ---
That is odd why the brush selector is not appearing in the brush editor. I am
not sure if you need to do a clean build for everything to work right. I added
a new UI file and renamed an important class.

 I remember talking with david a bit on IRC about this. I can't remember, but I
thought he did something with his configuration. The brush editor doesn't look
right in general, regardless of the attach behavior he is describing.

Add decode for CNTVCT, CNTPCT, and CNTFRQ

I've attached a patch that adds decode support for CNTVCT, CNTPCT, and CNTFRQ
using helpers to execute the real instructions. It is based on the ARMv8
support for the CNTVCT register.

The patch that is already attached supports only CNTVCT, and hardcodes the
value to 0, which breaks many use cases.

[kmymoney4] [Bug 371069] CSV plugin mishandles UTF-16 files

2016-10-21 Thread allan via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371069

--- Comment #5 from allan  ---
Thomas suggested using Okteta to look at the data to see if the BOM was
correct.
Here are the first few lines :-
"
   22 00 4D 00  52 00 20 00  41 00 4C 00  ".M.R. .A.L.
000C   4C 00 41 00  4E 00 20 00  41 00 4E 00  L.A.N. .A.N.
0018   44 00 45 00  52 00 53 00  4F 00 4E 00  D.E.R.S.O.N. "

So, no BOM, just the data, and still mis-formatted by the plugin.

Ah, I've just checked against the Libre Office Calc file and, just looking at
the beginning, the bad one has "22 00", and the good one has "FF FE". So, the
BOM is wrong on the bank version.

Allan

[kalarm] [Bug 370627] akonadi_kalarm_dir_resource watch triggered by temp files

2016-10-21 Thread David Jarvie via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370627

--- Comment #1 from David Jarvie  ---
I don't see the error message in ~/.xsession-errors on my system, and therefore
I can't test whether a fix will work. Can you confirm which line in
kalarmdirresource.cpp produces the error - is it the call to loadFile(path,
file) in fileChanged() ?

It also isn't obvious where any temporary files are created with a name pattern
like the one you report. The only place I can see that creates a temporary file
is in fileStorage->save() in writeToFile(), which creates a file with '~'
suffix.

If I supply a patch, would you be able to rebuild and test it?

[amarok] [Bug 371460] New: ANDs get converted to ORs when editing the filter

2016-10-21 Thread robert marshall via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371460

Bug ID: 371460
   Summary: ANDs get converted to ORs when editing the filter
   Product: amarok
   Version: 2.8-git
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Collection Browser
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: rob...@capuchin.co.uk

Set up a filter containing (for example)
artist:"Sol" AND genre:"Classic" OR genre:"Chamber"
then click the edit filter button, the search filter displays correctly (at the
foot of the dialog but the graphic buttons has two ANDs rather than AND and
then OR, if without doing anything to amend the filter you select OK you get an
edited filter
artist:"Sol" AND genre:"Classic" AND genre:"Chamber"

I didn't expect the filter to change. I tried to work around by adding brackets
in case it was an operator precedence issue but that made no difference

(as reported on #amarok on IRC with a slightly different example)

Reproducible: Always

Reviewing old bugs - it looks as if the file permissions which you reported are
actually for the kalarm executable, not for the files in directory
~/.kde/share/apps/kalarm. It would also be useful if you could list the first 5
lines of the file ~/.kde/share/apps/kalarm/calendar.ics.

2016-10-21 Thread Alexander Potashev via KDE Bugzilla

--- Comment #3 from Alexander Potashev  ---
(In reply to Serge Moreau from comment #2)
> Untranslatable !
> What does that mean exactly ?

I've already changed the summary to "Missing French translations for menu items
in Dolphin (Plasma 5.8.0)".

"Untranslatable" (i.e. cannot be translated) would imply a bug in the source
code of Dolphin/etc. But here we have a problem in French translations only.

[plasmashell] [Bug 371455] Slide show wallpaper massively slows down login

2016-10-21 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371455

--- Comment #2 from k...@zottel.net ---
P.S.: Not sure if this is of any relevance, but this is a two-monitor setup
where the main monitor has a fixed wallpaper from the KDE collection (which
shows when the desktop finally shows up), and the second monitor has the slide
show and stays blank at first.

[plasmashell] [Bug 371455] New: Slide show wallpaper massively slows down login

2016-10-21 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371455

Bug ID: 371455
   Summary: Slide show wallpaper massively slows down login
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Image Wallpaper
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: k...@zottel.net
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I have a quite slow NAS with several thousand images on it which I use as a
source for a slide show wallpaper (5 mins between one image and the next).

When I log in to my account, I get the KDE logo and the spinner, which freezes
after some time. After waiting for several minutes, the launch bar shows up and
I can start using my account. There is still no background image (black
screen).

Not sure right now if an image would show up after some time by itself; it does
if I right-click on the background, select "next background image" (translated
back from German), and wait another few minutes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a slow source with many thousand images in hundreds of directories as
wallpaper slide show.
2. Log in.

Actual Results:
Login takes an eternity.

Expected Results:
Launch bar and desktop without wallpaper image shows up right away. I can start
working. Once the directory scan has completed, and the first image has been
loaded, wallpaper images start to show.

Thanks for the report.
Binaries are not needed, at least I don't use them.

Before we find solution could you please try:
1. to use the SQLite db type for your work
2. to use the MySQL db type for your work

And tell me if you encounter any issues.

Please also try in you app KEXI_COMPATIBLE == true at

[konsole] [Bug 371454] New: Konsole unable to start profiles in removed working directory

2016-10-21 Thread Daniel Lin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371454

Bug ID: 371454
   Summary: Konsole unable to start profiles in removed working
directory
   Product: konsole
   Version: 16.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ephemi...@gmail.com

Steps:
- Use a profile with "Start in same directory as current tab" enabled
- In one tab, run
  $ mkdir a
  $ cd a
  $ rmdir ../a
- Try to open a new tab

Expected:
Tab opens with some fallback cwd

Actual:
"""
Warning: Could not start program '/bin/bash' with arguments '/bin/bash'.
Warning: chdir: No such file or directory
"""
Cannot use the new tab.

I think I observed a hard hang of Konsole 16.08.1 but my packages had already
been updated to 16.08.2 when I tried to repro and I didn't feel like
downgrading to test again.

[frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 371453] New: Deleted entries in config file are not correctly removed on save

2016-10-21 Thread Alex Bikadorov via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371453

Bug ID: 371453
   Summary: Deleted entries in config file are not correctly
removed on save
   Product: frameworks-kconfig
   Version: 5.27.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matt...@mjdsystems.ca
  Reporter: alex.bikado...@kdemail.net
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org

My application is called "main_EXE", the config file is saved at
"~/.config/main_EXErc" and this is the content:
>>>
[Startup]
MenuBar=Enabled

<<<

The (complete) application code:
>>>
#include

#include
#include
#include

class MainWindow : public KXmlGuiWindow {
  Q_OBJECT

public:
  MainWindow() : KXmlGuiWindow(0) {

KSharedConfig::openConfig()->deleteGroup("Startup");
  }
};

int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
  QApplication app(argc, argv);

  MainWindow *window = new MainWindow();
  window->show();

  return app.exec();
}

#include "main.moc"
<<<

After running the code, this is the new content of the config file:
>>>
[Startup]
MenuBar[$d]

<<<

* removing the entry directly ( deleteEntry("ActiveTab") ) does not work too
* a sync() call writes the incorrect config to the file
* it works correctly if the config path is specified with a custom path
* it works correctly if the group was not in the config file when the
application started (create+delete works)

And most important: When I search for "[$d]" in ~/.config/* , there are 10
config files with these invalid entries (ksmserverrc, oktetarc, khotkeyrc,
plasmashellrc, ...). This bug is slowly messing up the config files for all KDE
applications and can trigger further bugs.

2016-10-21 Thread JM via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 371451
   Summary: Default hyperlink color makes link unreadable with
dark theme
   Product: trojita
   Version: git
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop GUI
  Assignee: trojita-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: jhnmlkv...@gmail.com

I'm using solarized-dark theme in gnome with KDE
SystemStyles->ApplicationStyle->WidgetStyle set to gtk2. Trojita gui looks good
and uses solarized-dark colors. The only problem is the blue color of
hyperlinks/email-ids in Trojita make it impossible to read against the defalut
solarized background color. I couldn't find any way to customize that (or any
other) color in Trojita preferences in ~/.config/flaska.net/trojita.conf

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set any dark theme for KDE
2. Open Trojita
3. Try to read hyperlinks or email ids in the Trojita GUI

Actual Results:
The blue of hyperlinks are virtually unreadable on dark background

Expected Results:
Ability to change colors of various text elements it Trojita

[plasmashell] [Bug 347825] qt-recordMyDesktop does not show a systray icon and recording cannot be stopped

2016-10-21 Thread Sasha Unspecified via KDE Bugzilla

--- Comment #4 from Sasha Unspecified  ---
FYI:
KUbuntu 16.04.1, gtk-recordmydesktop 0.3.8-4.1ubuntu1 — systray button exists,
but has no icon; i.e. looks like a gap between other systray buttons (Keyboard
Layout and Audio Volume), so not easy to guess that it belongs to
recordmydesktop.

Works for me. KDEConnect is annoying fussy about needing the latest versions
of both kde and android version to talk to each other, there's no error message
if they are incompatible versions. I have KDEConnect 1.4 from FDroid on my
phone and 1.0.1+p16.04+git20161021.0032-0 on neon dev/unstable

Enabling output 65

works, but enabled LVDS in clone mode. So it seems that kscreen completely
forgot that the laptop screen is left to the external screen. Before fiddling
further with kscreen-doctor arguments I fixed this using systemsettings kscreen

internal laptop display LVDS-1 (65) is disabled.

However according to kscreen log it tries to activate output 66 (VGA) which
does not make any sense:

21.10.2016 17:35:39.548 ; kded ;  : KScreen::Output( 65   "LVDS-1" connected

I, of course want output 65 and 72 enabled. 72 (the external display) is, but
65 isn´t.

[KDb] [Bug 371331] database calls randomly fail on Windows 10 (postgresql)

2016-10-21 Thread Simeon Kuran via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371331

--- Comment #6 from Simeon Kuran  ---
No, I don't think so!
Most of the time, the error occurs far before executing the SQL SELECT
statement!
I have to admit, that it's hard to debug, because sometimes all works as it
should. I needed several attempts too, but then I got the following error on
console:

"using database failed:  KDbResult: OK"

When executing the following piece of code:

  bool cancelled;
  bool ok = m_connection->useDatabase(database, KEXI_COMPATIBLE, );

  if (ok)
  {
qDebug() << "using DB '" << database << "'." << endl;

emit databaseAvailable(database);
  }
  else
  {
qDebug() << "using database failed: " << m_connection->result();
  }

In Kexi the situation is much worse: Opening a project only works by a chance
of 1 to 5 or so... (the other 4 times it fails with different error messages).
I am quite sure this is because Kexi of course fires much more PostgreSql / DB
commands and one or the other just fails.

Shall I add my Kexi binaries to the git repo too? Maybe it would be interesting
whether you can see the described effects too with it? Though I know that
I didn't set up KReport correctly, but at the moment I don't need it and I am
sure it doesn't affect this error. In Kexi such DB errors show up quite
frequently when I create a new project, add some simple tables, store the
project and then try to reopen it.

I know this comment sounds a bit like if my incomplete setup of Kexi causes the
error, but I am quite sure that's not the case. I am very convinced, that the
error happens in KDb (at least in my self compiled KDb version. I don't want to
blame KDb for it though. I can not / and don't want to exclude, that I simply
did something wrong! )

Thanks for your efforts!

Ok, but I have added this to inform someone who maybe thinks that if switch
the profile, it closes mutt and it opens konsole. Only for this.

Thanks

[KScreen] [Bug 371447] New: laptop screen disabled after resume from suspend to RAM

2016-10-21 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371447

Bug ID: 371447
   Summary: laptop screen disabled after resume from suspend to
RAM
   Product: KScreen
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: mar...@lichtvoll.de

With newest KScreen 5.8.2-1 (as packaged in Debian Sid) laptop screen is
disabled after resume from suspend to RAM (probably also suspend/hibernation to
disk). This didn´t happen with previous version 5.8.0 and I think also not
5.8.1 (not completely sure on that one)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have laptop + external display.
2. Suspend to RAM by closing lid.
3. Resume

Actual Results:
Laptop display is switched off.

Expected Results:
Laptop display is switched on as it was before suspending.

ThinkPad T520 with Full HD internal and Full HD external display connected
through docking station. I will add further debug output as attachments.

[plasmashell] [Bug 371446] New: [Feature Request] - Activity Switcher shouldnt break the activities order based on current activity

2016-10-21 Thread Michail Vourlakos via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371446

Bug ID: 371446
   Summary: [Feature Request] - Activity Switcher shouldnt break
the activities order based on current activity
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Activity Switcher
  Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org
  Reporter: mvourla...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I noticed that the Activity Switcher shows always the current activity to be
the first one. My opinion is that this shouldnt happen. I would propose that
current activity should just remain at its position and only to get highlighted
(this is the default Meta+Tab behavior when changing activities).

Cons of current behavior:
- the user's mental model for the activities order is broken every time that
the active activity is changed
- the activities' order does not correspond with other places they are shown
for example at the activity pager

I dont know if this is a design decision but I would like a lot to have your
feedback.

Personally because of the current behavior every time I open the "Activities
Switcher" I dont expect to see something specific, I have to search for the
activity to interact with.

Reproducible: Always
