[dolphin] [Bug 375130] New: the sound settings is ignored and restored back to defaults

2017-01-15 Thread Alexander
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375130

Bug ID: 375130
Summary: the sound settings is ignored and restored back to
defaults
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 16.08.2
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

In the playback devices I've put my audio volume to 15% (Built-in Audio Analog
Stereo), and also disabled "Notification Sounds" in the Audio Settings.

Now, when I press Shift-Delete in Dolphin to delete some file, the confirmation
dialog appears. The sound of notification is played and audio volume is 100%
again.

There is no such problem when I do the same on the KDE Desktop.

[kwin] [Bug 296673] Please preserve the window geometry relative to it's original screen instead of globally when adding a screen

2017-01-15 Thread Michael G .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=296673

Thank you very much for still keeping this open.

I have been used to configure my screens only to the right side of my laptop
for 1-2 years now because of that exact problematic behaviour. It is somewhat
sad that this will not come for x11.

I am surprised that this is a technically difficult problem to approach. The
control bar is placed on the correct monitor and new windows also open on the
correct screen. KScreen reflects the information of xrandr with the relative
translation of the screen.

Each window has its top left corner distinctively in one of the screens. If
that screen has a new position, the window moves with it. Even choosing the
center point as a mapping to the output would not be that terribly wrong nor
any 'strange heuristic' imho.

Ultimately this would be also only half the truth. While it would be good if
KWin takes its windows along with the screens anyway, when connection a new
screen it should not really require to move the old one. But that would require
X11 to allow negative positions which I can understand might be more
refactoring and work.

I am putting up high hopes in wayland… multiscreen-setups have been a PITA on
KDE/linux for the last century while it was nailed pretty solidly on other OSs
:S
I'll give Neon a spin and try it on my main system with plasma 5.9.

Somewhere along the way, this issue was positively resolved: The quicksearch
filter fields are now (at least since 5.3.0, cannot recall exactly) selected
via a dropdown menu that is opened by clicking on a small filter symbol inside
the quicksearch bar, which seems to be a custom widget now.

Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll reopen.

I actually could check on the settings of a different user and found that it
was just 'bookmarks'. It's weird, I don't recall it opening the whole set of
boomarks, but just giving the option to edit those (via keditbookmarks).

But most surely I don't recall this properly so I'm going to close the bug as
resolved invalid.

Sorry for the noise...

[krita] [Bug 375127] New: Serious problems with image renders

2017-01-15 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375127

Bug ID: 375127
Summary: Serious problems with image renders
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0.1.1
  Platform: unspecified
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major

  Target Milestone: ---

When trying to save my works as .png, .jpg, and otherwise, I've come across a
slew of problems. More often than not, (Actually, every single time I've tried,
I believe) my file will contain some kind of graphical errors, or strange
imperfections from details that have rendered incorrectly.
This happens more often than not - trying to get a successful finished image
out of my art has become a real struggle, to the point that I now just
screenshot my work, and save it through MS Paint.

You - whoever you may be - can *hopefully* see some of these sketchy saving
issues in the attached files. One file seems to be a brush-based error (the
brush creating some kind of 3d texture on the file, which isn't visible in the
working .kra file) - and ultimately, making a big black splotchy mess all over
the canvas.
On another, the image has been inexplicably darkened - or, the layers that are
set to 50% opacity become fully opaque. In one case, trying to save as a .jpg
to resolve the issue resulted in Well, you'll see.

I'm absolutely stumped by this - but whatever might be going wrong, whether
it's the program's problem or my own habitual cockups, I'm dying to see a
solution.

[krita] [Bug 375126] New: Issues with saved files

2017-01-15 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375126

Bug ID: 375126
   Summary: Issues with saved files
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0.1.1
  Platform: unspecified
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kimbab...@hotmail.com.au
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm not sure how to articulate what I -think- has happened, but here goes. This
is the most major of several bug issues I've been having.

While working on artwork, I haven't had much trouble saving files - apart from
the actual method of saving, which is dangerously capable of tricking a tired
artist at the worst moments (Like when an artist is repeatedly rendering
finished images while also saving the document itself - nobody likes to find
out they accidentally saved the last hour's work in PNG's instead of nice files
with all their layers intact!)
However, I recently saved my file off a piece of paid work (!) - I had to do it
a couple of times, as I wanted to make sure I was saving properly. I saved as
new file; and just a little later, I saved over an old file as my latest copy.

I returned to open my file a couple of hours on, and my heart sunk. Instead of
my recent piece, it was still saved over the much older copy - little more than
reference shapes and shading info! Somehow, it seemed to have under-written the
file - as in, it saved the old file over the new one - strangely, the thumbnail
icon is displaying an intermediate stage with lineart, yet that detail is
missing from the file itself.

After a mild panic, I found there was still a very recent autosave. Thank the
Krita crew, for a decent autosave feature! Still, I'm trying to work out where
my file went - no doubts that it saved, because the "new" old copy is a newer
file than any of my others. It's got me worried about being able to work in
this program in the future; a great program, but it is too risky for my tastes,
to have my work compromised like this.

There could be some more useful details to this story, especially around the
time of saving - but I can't remember, as I only found out when I came back to
my work later on.

TLDR:

When trying to overwrite a .kra file I was working on, a very early draft copy
was somehow saved over in place of the new one; deleting all of the work in the
process.

I am having the same problem. This has only started happening since the
resent updates (3.1.1). If I set the cursor shape to something then it will
show a cursor where the pen is, as would be expected, but when I try to do
anything on the canvas then it is noticeable. I first noticed it when I tried
to pan. When I middle clicked with the pen the canvas jumped to center itself
where the pen was last pressed. After messing with it for a bit I was able to
figure out that the cursor on the canvas was not following the pen cursor.
When using a brush if I tapped on one spot of the canvas and then in another
spot it would end up drawing a line to the two points. This also happened with
the select tools. The canvas dose not update the cursor position unless the
pen is pressed on the canvas. Once again this only started happening after I
updated to 3.1.1 I do not know which version I was using before this. I will
try going back through the versions to see I can find one before this started
happening.

JB, thanks so much for investing in a card and looking into this. With much of
the performance of many editors relying on the GPU to cut production time,
having greater GPU support through movit and Nvidia will be a tremendous help

Do you know with which compiler this version has been build ? There is a known
issue with gcc > 5, which has been fixed with version 2.21.1 for x86 and with
2.12.2 on other platforms supported by gcc; msvc/x86 does not have this issue.

Git commit e3a7cce6ec6906c361aa8ce91dd73f67af1e790a by Ralf Habacker.
Committed on 16/01/2017 at 02:23.
Pushed by habacker into branch 'master'.

Add support for language specific association rules.

The class Assoc_Rule (former struct) now have an attribute 'language'
with which 'all' or a dedicated language can be specified. This attribute
is checked in the related AssocRule class methods.

Java specific rules will be added in a separate commit.

[kpat] [Bug 375068] KPat Klondike Needs More Double-Click Moves -- More App-Like

2017-01-15 Thread Ian Wadham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375068

Ian Wadham changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||iandw...@gmail.com

(In reply to Steve Brown from comment #0)

KPat is currently unmaintained, meaning there is no programmer available to
devote his or her free time to improving it. So, if you can program, write to
KDE Games and volunteer...

> I haven't played Klondike solitaire on a computer (as opposed to a phone)
> for quite some time. With touch-screen versions that I've tried, you can
> tap on a playable card and it will move where it's supposed to without
> dragging. For example, a King will move to an empty column or a red 4 will
> move to an available black 5.

In some Klondike deals you can get two possible moves for a card. Sometimes
this does not matter, but sometimes one is a winning move and one is a losing
move. I suppose the game should let you tap again to get the other move if
Klondike chose the wrong one.

> In kpat Klondike, double clicking will move a
> card to one of the 4 ace piles (or whatever they're called).

Right-click does the same in Klondike. In some KPat games, such as Mod3, it
will also do possible moves in the way you would like. In that game, the choice
of row and column to move to does not usually matter.

> More double-click moves should be added. Dragging is, well, a drag.

The "Autodrop" setting makes it easier.

> Also, once there are no more face-down cards on the board (not including the
> draw-pile), the game should be able to complete automatically, even if it
> has to use cards in the draw-pile). At least that's the way the Android
> version I'm using works.

Klondike usually does this, but all KPat games will avoid playing automatically
a card that has been in an Undo. So auto-play can halt for this reason.

> 'New Game'...'New Deal'? What's the difference?

New Deal is just "shuffle and deal" keeping the same solitaire (patience) game.
New Game allows you to select a different game from the twelve available in
KPat. The word "game" is ambiguous in English. In other languages you can have
different words for "game" and instance (or round) of a game.

> Add a 'Winning Deal' option to the menu to randomly select a game that is
> winnable.

See Settings->Enable Solver in KPat and watch the status bar at bottom left. In
most cases, the solver can tell you if a Klondike deal is winnable or not. It
is not so good at first with more complex games, such as Simple Simon, but it
will let you know later on whether you are heading towards a solution or not.
Using the solver and Undo lets you cheat of course, but it also helps you
improve your play in the long run.

Hope this helps.

In the places sidebar, under the devices header, the root filesystem shows up
twice, once as "Linux fileystem" and once as "31.3 GiB hard drive". Another
filesystem also shows up twice.

This creates visual clutter and confusion. Each filesystem should only be shown
once.

/dev/mapper/hddint on /media/hddintern3 type ext4 (rw,relatime,data=ordered)

the newly painted lines only appear after I click somewhere else but the

Okay, I'm not sure exactly how to classify this bug report because it addresses
quite a few things I noticed today while using Krita.

Bugs I have noticed

-Pop Up Palette:
*sometimes when I exit out of the pop up palette, my cursor goes missing. I
noticed this the past two weeks, but not at all today.

-Color Picker
*my tool randomly switches to the color picker

-zoom
*the canvas would zoom out a lot randomly.
*also, I noticed a thread here about a zoom feature being requested that would
zoom in automatically at the cursor. Can I also request a zoom out feature that
Photoshop CS4 has: resize canvas to window? It's a great quick command to zoom
out quick.

-exif data
*When exporting and/or saving to jpg, the metadata doesn't get saved.
*is there an option to export copyright status too?

I recorded all my paintings today with OBS in case you guys would like to see
all the oddities. They are big files though.

Thanks for all the great work folks.

Hi Andreas,

I'm afraid that doesn't fix it (tested by manually downloading the new one as
binary blob and replacing it), as you can see in the SVG source, it still
references #s and #r, which both don't exist, so it spews out a warning. It is
probably possible just re-create the icon from a size that isn't affected, e.g.
24 or 22. Given it's a scalable svg, that's probably the best option.

Thanks in advance, kind regards,

Christian

  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: internal browser
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org

Steps to reproduce:
1. Change the zoom level of the preview browser using Ctrl+ or Ctrl- or the
Mouse wheel while holding Ctrl pressed.
2. Navigate through the same feed -> Zoom level of Web Browser stays same
3. Navigate to another feed -> Zoom level is reset

Expected behavior is to have the zoom level remembered even when changing the
feed and not reset.

It is interesting because it seems the zoom value itself is remembered between
feeds but just not applied to the browser. This can be seen when changing the
feed and then again changing the zoom of the browser. Even though the browser
shows the page scaled for zoom 0 when changing the zoom it suddenly applies the
remembered value and the zoom is modified from that value on.

Hi

When selecting the option "Load the full website when reading articles" for a
particular feed each article gets opened in the external browser instead of
just showing the website in the internal preview browser. This behavior/bug
seems to have been introduced in latest browser component related changes as
the package from Ubuntu Yaketty (16.04.3-0ubuntu2) does not have the bug.

Expected behavior is the old one, i.e. show the full website in the internal
preview browser and do not open it in the external browser. Currently it is
impossible to have that option "load full website" set as just walking through
the list of articles (with e.g. left, right arrow keys) opens up a new tab in
the external browser.

Also the bug seems to be related to the "Configure Internal Browser Component"
settings because whatever is chosen in the "Left Mouse Click" Drop down box as
an action, i.e. "Open in Tab/Bakground Tab/External Browser" will be executed
when navigating/reading articles in a feed. Above option though is only meant
(and was used like that before) when clicking links in the preview browser.

The above behavior is not triggered for feeds that do not have "Load the full
website when reading articles" option set.

Summary: add tags bookmark by default
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 16.12.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

This is a super simple fix that allows easy access to tags in dolphin.

Entering "tags:///" in the adress bar shows the list of tags as icons, and
clicking on a tag icon shows all the files with this tag.

Please add a bookmark to tags:/// into the default places in the left side bar,
next to personal folder, root folder etc.

It's really simple to do this yourself, but people are not be aware of it.

Git commit fb572c22f8910257dd90dab9b0fe5070ed7f158c by Robby Stephenson.
Committed on 15/01/2017 at 21:33.
Pushed by rstephenson into branch 'master'.

Add a delegate to draw Ratings

Qt4 drew icons of list views of various widths, and apparently no longer
does. Instead of using an model icon, using a delegate to draw proper
stars for the Rating value.

[digikam] [Bug 374671] Breeze Icons missing dark icons

Hello,
I tried the 5.5.0-pre release MacOS package and the icons look great throughout
the main interface. Thank You.

However, One thing to note is that icons in the menus are now light in color
compared to the text (but still visible). Can these be made darker like other
text in the menu? See the screenshot.

[digikam] [Bug 374771] Thumbnails for video files are gray

Well, I'm reopening because the problem with video thumbs is still there.
I'v just upgraded to 5.4.

Now when I recreate the thumbnails (pressing F5) the thumbs for video are gone
(from gray boxes to no image). DK shows only empty box. So now there is no sign
that this thumb is for video. Well, it is empty so I gues it is ;-)

[krusader] [Bug 375079] Status bar during copy large file

2017-01-15 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375079

I suppose that the progress-windows depends from the environment.
So I make a test with Dolphin (same platform) and the notification window
appear normally so I think tha is a bug/setting of Krusader.

I will wait next Krusader version

[plasmashell] [Bug 375113] New: Plasmashell crashes when selecting a status widget with "Status and Notifications" open.

2017-01-15 Thread Neil Turton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375113

Bug ID: 375113
Summary: Plasmashell crashes when selecting a status widget
with "Status and Notifications" open.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: System Tray
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: 0neiltk@chiark.greenend.org.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

I can reliably crash plasmashell as follows:
Make sure the touchpad is on the "Status & Notifications" panel.
  Select Touchpad settings.
Assign a "Meta+Shift+T" as the shortcut for Touchpad.
  Press "Ok".
Open the "Status & Notifications" panel.
Press Meta+Shift+T to activate the Touchpad widget.
The "Status & Notifications" panel closes and then plasmashell crashes.

Normally, Meta+Shift+T would open the "Status & Notifications" panel in order
to show the Touchpad widget.

The same procedure works with the "Notifications" widget, the "Device Notifier"
widget and the "Printers" widget.

I am using the Ubuntu package version "4:5.5.5.2-0ubuntu1". The --version
option reports "plasmashell 5.5.5".

[kdenlive] [Bug 374969] latest build crashing on program start. [backtrace log included]

2017-01-15 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374969

I also suspected an NVidia issue.

The cause of the crash is probably this commit:
https://cgit.kde.org/kdenlive.git/commit/src/monitor/glwidget.cpp?id=6675c4a509046aa3b57c60cbc3f31435e09c2df7

I just ordered a cheap NVidia card so that I can properly fix this and look
into the infamous movit/Nvidia issues.

This is about the "sync-browse mode" (toggle button in the panels) and using
the history arrow buttons for back/forward at the same time.

Going back/forward does not change anything in the other panel. You could argue
that the other panel might have a different history but this is also true for
other directory changes.

It is simply not implemented right now.

5. Click OK
6. Right click the same file and choose Open With.

Note there is no default application anywhere. I can see the executable in the

selection step again and again. Open With is far less useful than I hoped.

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Navigating and browsing through system settings with the view in tree mode.
Limited applications running. Changing between sub-categories inside the "Audio
Output Mode". I switched quickly between the analog stereo and anolog duplex
mode about 5 or 6 times. PC first started to lag and hang before becoming
glitchy and freezing for an extended period of time (2-3 minutes). Once freeze
released, I shut-down settings and was greeted by the bug reporter. Shortly
before initial lagging I noticed that the title text was lingering and
overlapping from one option screen to the next.
