I confirm this bug with F24 and KMail 5.4.2.

Another thing is that the message count has been replaced with a simple dot
over an envelope, which also makes things less readable than in the past when
the icon was clearly visible and so was the unread message count.

A very similar thing started happening to me KMail/Kontact 5.4.2 update on
Fedora 24.

I have a separate folder holding one of my e-mails incoming messages to which
they are directed through the "Destination Folder" option in Accounts settings.

Suddenly, when switching to that folder, the e-mails simply get deleted (moved
to a Trash folder). Then, when I switch to any other folder, with the excpetion
of Inbox, all messages get deleted one by one, as if I kept "Delete" key
pressed. Even when I switch to a Trash folder, messaged are wiped out from
there as well.

This already happened twice and luckily I've got a backup, so had to rsync from
my backup disc do ~/.local/share/local-mail dirs to get the messages back.

I certainly don't want to get this error reproduced from fear of losing my
e-mails. I only noticed this was happening when the messages from the mailing
list were not being moved to their destination folder according to my filter
rule on the mailing list, insted, they stayed in the Inbox folder.

I've got several filters set up - those for the mailing lists turn on
automatically to spread the messages to the mailing lists folders.

I observed filters not directing messages to their folders many times before,
but never had any messages been deleted after switching to another folder.

This is, unfortunately, a very, very, very major bug.

Add --config-file option and fix --database-directory

The attached patch fixes this bug and
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377587.

In a first part the database path given by the command line option
--database-directory is correctly displayed in configuration. However it does
not make any sense to configure a command line option (i.e. runtime parameter),
so the input fields are disabled.

The second part is to introduce a --config-file option, to specify a specific
configuration file. This longer option (instead of just --config) was needed
due to the weird behaviour of KSharedConfig with --config.

[okular] [Bug 377625] New: Moving annotations causes their border color, shape and features to change

2017-03-14 Thread Tobias Deiminger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377625

Bug ID: 377625
Summary: Moving annotations causes their border color, shape
and features to change
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.0.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: haxti...@t-online.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Annotations may change border color, shape and features when they are moved
(Ctrl + Mouse drag) within Okular. Bug can be reproduced with the document from
here:
https://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura-pdf-mupdf/raw/f1b05ad44cf7496c6700d7476cda359efc61f027/tests/files/annotations.pdf

The text annotation with content "Text box" has a red border. After moving,
border color changes to black. After saving and viewing the saved document in
Firefox, the annotation is not visible at all there.

The text annotation with content "Callout" has a red border and a callout line.
After moving, the border rectangle is enlarged, border color is black and the
callout line disappears. After saving and viewing the saved document in
Firefox, the annotation is not visible at all there.

I can reproduce this with Okular 1.0.3 and Poppler 0.48.0, and saw it in
earlier versions (which I don't remember exactly) too.

Hi Jan,

yes it definitely seems so:

systemctl status kded5
● kded5.service
Loaded: not-found (Reason: No such file or directory)
   Active: inactive (dead)

should this be the service that you were talking about?

how would I start it? it doesn't seem to load through
systemctl start kded5

please find attached other information that was requested from the link you've
provided.

best,
theresa

Summary: Kmail report incorrect attachment size, so cannot send
attachment
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.1
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: nolaa...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 104567
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=104567=edit
size reported by ls

A 25MiB file cannot be sent because the client is reporting a size > 25MiB
(33MiB in my case). The wrong size leads to this problem.

Thanks David!
Also if isolate group while being able to edit layers inside (without going out
of the isolate mode) is done:

Then please add this: If a new layer is added or deleted inside the isolated
group, keep isolation mode of the group of layers.

That's because in 3.0 and ealrier: adding/deleting a layer from inside the
isolated group would turn isolation mode off.

Thanks again!

QML's int has a max of 20.

http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-int.html

(20 / 100 / 60) = 33.3 minutes is the maximum track we can play
before it overflows. Most movies are longer, but some songs (mixes) could be
that long too.

QML's Slider uses real for the maximumValue, and there doesn't seem to be a
long datatype, but I suggest using doubles.

script to easily start multiple independent digikam instances

Perhaps a better way to solve this is to allow different digikamrc files to be
used, like addressed in bug 377587.

However, in the meantime, a work around for this issue is to use independent
digikamrc files, which can be done by specifying a HOME envvar which uses a
directory appropriately structured which has a digikamrc file unique to the
database being used. In Linux, the structure is that the the directory
specified in HOME must have a ".config" subdirectory containing the digikamrc
file. It will be different for different platforms. For clues to making this
work on other platforms go to
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qstandardpaths.html#StandardLocation-enum and look at
the GenericConfigLocation path type for your platform.

Attached is a bash script that was tested with DK 5.4.0 to easily realize this.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361497] High memory usage of plasma shell when vmvare workstation is running

2017-03-14 Thread Raman Gupta
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361497

I have the same behavior on Fedora 24 with KDE Plasma 5.8.6, Frameworks 5.31.0,
QT 5.6.2, and VMWare 12.5. There are other reports of this as well:

https://forum.manjaro.org/t/plasmashell-kde-high-load-over-my-cpu/8645/5

One commenter at
https://superuser.com/questions/1118866/high-load-over-my-cpu-and-high-temperature-when-running-plasmashell
had an interesting theory, but I have not yet tested it:

> FWIW, we ran into this at work and it turns out it's the vmware tray icon. If
> you kill the vmware-tray process after you start up the VMs, then everything
> is fine. There is an option to say that you don't ever want the icon, but
> that doesn't appear to be honored and VMWare fires it up anyways.

CPU usage increases to about 60% on plasmashell, with a significant percentage
on the Xorg process and on the VMware process, even with an idle VM. Shutting
down VMWare has no affect, but restarting plasma after shutting down VMWare
fixes the issue.

The display becomes sluggish until plasmashell is restarted.

Argh, now I get it. That's an adjustment layer... Well, I still don't
understand what can have changed -- the imagesize plugin hasn't changed, the
filters haven't changed, the filters don't use vc or eigen, which have changed.

[krusader] [Bug 377621] New: Incorrect text symbols when seeing non ASCII file names inside ZIP file

2017-03-14 Thread Rafael
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377621

Bug ID: 377621
Summary: Incorrect text symbols when seeing non ASCII file
names inside ZIP file
   Product: krusader
   Version: 2.5.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: krarc
  Assignee: m...@fork.pl
  Reporter: rafael.linux.u...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When I have some ZIP file with non-ASCII characters and I open it on Krusader,
it show a wrong character instead the right one. "Ark" KDE archive tool show
correctly those filenames. If I extract that files, the names finally are
created correctly.

Example ZIP:
https://goo.gl/g6pt8D
with filenames with non ASCII characters that are showed like a question mark
inside a diamond in Krusader.

[krita] [Bug 364237] When user switches to a subwindow of other saved document , the window reverts to previous subwindow

Issue reproducible on Windows 10 with Krita 3.1.2 under the same conditions.
Two saved documents in full window mode switching via the Windows menu and
tapping the document title with the pen. Duration between switching varies
somewhat from 0.5 seconds to a few seconds depending on what one is doing over
the document.

Experimented with switching docs, then removing the stylus from the tablet.
This allowed the document change to take effect, but as soon as the stylus
returned to the tablet, the documents switched back. It seems to be the motion
of the stylus over the interface after switching documents that induces the
switch back.

 CC||scottpetro...@gmail.com

I was talking with Dmitry and it sounds like this was removed as Wolthera
pointed out. It also sounds like it wasn't working correctly before as well.
The behavior should be the following:

1. Shift + Clicking an eye icon on a layer hides all layers except the one
clicked on
2. Shift + Clicking an eye icon again will restore the layers to its previous
state

It doesn't sound like there is a state management right now for the layers, so
there isn't a way to restore the layer visibility to what it was previously.
That will have to be added as well with this.

Empty message body area with a strange 'smime.p7m' attachment

Kmail version 5.4.3 (KDE apps 16.12.3) [bugzilla only lists only up to 5.4.1]
I received an x509 encrypted mail.
Kleopatra was not setup yet. So my x509 key is not known. (Not used for years
;-) )

Result: All I see is an empty(!) message body area with an attachment labeled
'smime.p7m' (see attachment).

Bug: 1) Bug message body area is empty without error/warning/info msg.
 2) I doubt none crpyto geeks know what smime.p7m is about.

Expected: if a encypted mail can't be decrypted, I expect at least that
error/warning/info msg, that Msg body can't be displayed.

When I work from home, I routinely run krdc fullscreen on desktop 2. Then to
do other local Linux tasks, I switch back to desktop 1.

On KDE4, I used to be able to return to krdc on desktop 2 by clicking it on the
taskbar, but in KDE5 it seems that fullscreen windows are removed from the
taskbar (and they reappear on the taskbar when you exit fullscreen mode). In
fact, because I have a 'taskbar launcher' set up for krdc, if I click that, I
get a second instance of krdc.

In any case, I don't see a reason to remove a fullscreen window from the
taskbar - the task is still active...

I'm running Linux Mint 18.1 KDE - don't know what exact version of KDE that is.
I used to get the version from Dolphin's 'Help - About KDE' dialog, but it's
not displayed there any more.

 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

The clazy-qstring-left warning makes the false assumption that QString::left(1)
can be replaced by the more efficient QString::at(0). This is not true in
general.

It is illegal to call QString::at() with an invalid position, but
QString::left() may be called with an empty string (in which case it also
returns an empty string).

There could exist code, which relies on this and uses QString::left(1) to avoid
handling the extra case in the calling code.

Option --caption makes kdialog crash, or simply not launching because it's
considered as not an option.
This WAS an option on kde4.

If the option is not really needed, it has to be just ignored, and not makes
crash or not launch. Olds scripts containing this will now just not work
because of that.
