use your software manager to search if kontact package and all kde pim suite
packages(akregator, kmail, kaddressbook, korganizer, knotes) version is 17.03
or sooner as for example 17.04.

tray icon is not for korganizer it's for korgac which is a deamon for
korganizer
so indeed you can click on it but it will not hide korganizer for sure.

Open Konsole, cat this 87-byte text file, look for extraneous spaces

The attached text file, when sent by cat to the konsole, should produce:

1) W in whatever the normal color is
2) X in bold red
3) 16 copies of the utf8 4-byte glyph for the Ace of Clubs in bold red
4) Y in bold blue and
5) Z in the normal color

Instead, it produces all the above plus a number of unexpected spaces between
3) and 4)

This behavior happens with every 4-byte unicode glyph my system supports. Every
2- or 3-byte glyph I've tried works just fine.

The amount of extra space is proportional to the number of 4-byte glyphs.

I'm running stock OpenSuSE Leap 42.2 and have done no mucking about with fonts.

I'll be happy to provide additional information but you may have to tell me how
to acquire it.

PS: The same behavior happens on earlier versions (Konsole 2.14.2) on KDE
4.14.9

Hi, logging into a plasma-wayland session, and trying to start KOrganizer

When program launch is unsuccessful, UI does not return back to the editing
mode. Some time ago there was a button in the toolbar for that action, but now
it gone.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open and build a project with an executable target.
2. Make launch impossible. For instance, in launch configuration dialog add
${WHATEVER} to the command line arguments.
3. Launch target.

Actual result:
Launch will be terminated by KDevelop and its UI will remain in debug mode.

Expected behaviour:
UI returns back to the editing mode. Or give use that magic button back,
please!

*Overview:

Auto-hide panel, just on the sides left, pops up when a new window is open (bug
379508) or when a notification is shown (bug 352278). And also is pops up on
each start of the section (bug 351906), in this case, in all, top, botton, left
and right, returning only when you pass the mouse over the panel.

*Steps to Reproduce:

1) Add one panel with a notification widget and a task manager, in each of the
panels and configure to auto-hide all of them.

2) Open a new window and watch the reaction in each panel.

3) Pass your mouse to hide the panels displayed.

4) Generate one notification for the notification widget and watch the reaction
in each panel.

5) End the section and login again.

*Actual Results:

The left panel don't hide in some cases. And all panel are visibles in the
start.

*Expected Results

All the panel should be hiden in the start and not unhide when open a new
windows
and hide again after the notification.

Hello,

I thought of marking this as "wishlist" but the instructions are keeping me
from doing any development at all. I don't doubt people who currently have the
build process working can build the project, but it is almost impossible to set
up and does not seem to produce repeatable results. This is not a criticism of
this project specifically; many Windows projects have this problem, and a good
many of them came from a Unix or Linux codebase.

It is my recommendation that the project be ported to the KDE on Windows
project's Craft buildsystem
(https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source/Windows).
This would make many of the steps currently in the build process redundant, and
allow for the reuse of the directory structure already present for other KDE
dependencies.

I would offer to do this myself but I can't make heads or tails of Craft.

Looks like the weather widget causes the crash.

Another way to reproduce:
 - Remove lines 42-46 from plasmashellrc so that it starts again
 - Add the weather widget to the side panel
 - Make panel bigger until plasmashell crashes

Overview: While adding a widget to a second panel plasmashell crashed. Would
not start again (segmentation fault).

Steps to Reproduce:
 - Replace ~/.config/plasmashellrc with the attachment
 - Run plasmashell 

Actual Results: It crashes with segmentation fault.
Expected Results: It does not crash.

Additional Information: The plasmashellrc supplied was generated automatically
(only removed the [PlasmaRunnerManager] and [KFileDialog Settings] entries).

Removing lines 42-46 prevents the crash.

Separate extesions on both spaces and semicolons in mime setup

The test in the GUI for the mime setup says, that one should use spaces to
separate extensions. The actual parsing function accepts either semicolons or
spaces (but not both). When the input fields are populated from database, the
extensions are separated by semicolons.

This can lead to the following problem:
1. Existing extensions: "ex1;ex2"
2. Add new extension separated by space as told: "ex1;ex2 ex3"

Result:
This is parsed to the extensions "ex1" and "ex2 ex3".

Expected:
Recognise  "ex1", "ex2" and "ex3" separately.

Patch:
Separate string from user on both spaces and semicolons. Adjust the text in the
GUI to that.

I observed, that after loading a file all images transformed by mask are not
smoothed nicely. They get proper smoothing after turning layer off and on, but
as you can see sometimes weird things happen. Also transforming seems to be
really slow, I've tried to reduce resolution of transformed images and it
helped a little. Currently I can't reproduce hanging.

It's a QtWebEngine regression. QupZilla also shows similar behavior, see 
e.g. the start page, where only the rectangle in the top center is light 
gray, the rest comes up white for me.

My patch does not touch how metadata is handled and I don't intend to. This is
only for file operations, i.e. dio.cpp. There currently on any operation it is
checked whether a *.xmp file is present (via DMetadata::hasSidecar and
DMetadata::hasSidecar). I extended this check to include the manually provided
extensions.

I will move out the part of the patch that fixes the bug in the mime setup to
another issue and move this setting to metadata setup. However I am not quite
sure where to place it. It is separate from all the metadata settings, as it
does not concern handling metadata within digiKam. So maybe add a new tab even
though it is just one setting?

Deleting multiple fonts

When I try to install or delete multiple system fonts systemsettings crashes so
only font at time is deleted. Same thing when installing: only one is installed
and every time crash error in background is visible. Also sometimes message
about updating font config isn't closed and stays until logout, unfortunately
not visible here.

Simon,

the way to host sidecar mime with Setup Type Mime is not the right one.

The Setup Type Mime is to register mime of items committed in DB. It's not the
case of sidecar files. There are parsed by metadata engine if Setup Metadata
option is turned on. I recommend to move sidecar type mime in Setup Metadata
panel.

The way to handle sidecar in located in libs/dmetadata. In fact it's done
internally by Exiv2, as i remember, but i'm not sure to 100%. At least check
meta engine code about read and write from/to files.

According to the bug report parameters, you are using version 0.4.1, which is
very old and no longer supported. Please contact your distribution's package
maintainer for KBibTeX and ask for an upgrade.

The provided file (attachment 105313) loads with the latest stable version
(0.6.2), but it becomes very slow, creating the impression that it has crashed.
This is due to the inefficient design on how the list of authors in the "edit
element" window is created; an issue which needs to be addressed.

When reading my feeds, I always go keyboard-only navigation. So I was used to
use both "+" for next unread and left/right arrows for prev/next articles.

Sadly, after updating to Kontact 5.4.3 (Applications 16.12.3?), when using the
keys to navigate through articles, I can't use "Av pag" or "Re pag" to scroll
down and up the articles themselves without clicking to "focus" them (on the
article's box). This is very unpleasant. It also happens if you go to any
article by clicking on its name in the article's list.

I guess it has to do with the change to using QWebEngine. I hope this can be
fixed but it will be hard to wait 6 months for the next distro release :(

After my PC is up and running for a few (4~5+) hours, kscreenlocker_greet takes
a full minute until it is responsive and reacts to keyboard or mouse input. And
yes, I've actually timed it; the standard deviation was +/- 2 seconds.

During that minute, CPU usages spikes to 100% and reserved memory (in top)
eventually exceeds 500 MB. I've also noticed memory usage increases every 5
seconds or so, and by 10-20 MB increments. When the program's responsive again,
CPU returns to normal, while memory usage is reduced to around 400 MB.

The problem happens independent of how kscreenlocker_greet is invoked: by
locking the screen; letting it happen automatically because of inactivity; or
even by running it from the terminal directly (with or without the '--testing'
option; it doesn't matter).

Sending a HUP signal to the process or using loginctl to unlock the session is
a workaround, but very annoying.

GDB backtrace (attached) indicates the program is stuck waiting for...
something.

Since the time kscreenlocker_greet is unresponsive is so precise, I suspect
it's a timeout expiring which causes it to be responsive again.

The application crash (Segmentation fault) when creating a new transition, and
move it on timeline (whit or without clip associated to transition).

I see the same kind of behavior on opening a chat window.

steps:
click ctrl+f2 
type 'online' # this autoloads the instant messaging icon in the system tray
then i click on system tray icon and click go online. the contact list
populates as expected.

I click on a contact and the chat window pops up blank like reported by
original bug reporter.

Now if I go and click on a new contact again (same or different) while that
blank window is up the window then shows up correctly for the contact I
clicked. Once the window is showing the contact correctly, clicking on other
contacts brings up subsequent tabs in the window correctly as expected.

Hi. I think that would be great for the color adjustment curves this list of
improvements:

1-Flexible histogram layout. Right now the histogram has a fixed size, and is a
very little size. A flexible size that adapts to the parent window size would
be better.

2-Logarythmic scale. Sometimes is necessary

3-Reset channel button, now for resetting the curves I need to cancel the
operation and reopen the tool, loosing the other curves in other channels

4-Histogram view in the RGBA and Luminosity channels

All of this is in the Gimp's adjustment curves tool, and are little details
that made using the tool more easily

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Ran updates on arch linux, then clicked the plasma-pk-updates applet in the
tray. Plasma crashed and restarted.
Happens from time to time after updates, that clicking the tray after updates
makes Plasma restart due to a crash.

I don't think that a Systemd upgrade would affect if I use OpenRC, because I
don't have Systemd :D
Plus, this was after an upgrade of KDE's packages. Anyway thanks for saying

In fact, this not only happens with KDE Plasma, also with xfce4, Matt, and
others. I fear that systemd has updated some component that does not allow the
detection of OpenRC and partitions of the USB hard disk.

We need solutions to this problem.
