Hey guys,

I am using a stock Dell Latitude E7240 with an i7 vPro and 8Gb of Ram on Neon
Dev Edition 5.9.95. I have always run Neon without any issue. But since the
recent release of Plasma 5.9.95 I am experiencing massive amounts of lag.
Namely with Rhythmbox and with Konsole. Both of which will freeze for up to a
minute before performing a task. 

I have noticed that I have a number of kwin packages that are held back for
some reason. I'm not sure if this is contributing to the issue? Below is the
output of an apt upgrade.

I am using a Dell Latitude E7240 on Neon 5.9.95 currently and I experience the
same bug. I have had the same issue since I installed Neon when Plasma 5.6 had
just come out.

I'm afraid I don't have a fix

According to the Python documentation, "The expression "x or y" first evaluates
x; if x is true, its value is returned; otherwise, y is evaluated and the
resulting value is returned."

However, kdev-python thinks 'or' always returns a boolean:

a = "a"
x = a or "foo"

The tooltip indicates 'a' is of type 'str' and 'b' is of type 'bool'. This is
wrong; it should say 'b' is of type 'str'. More generally, the type of 'x or y'
should be 'unsure(type(x), type(y))'.

The full error message is as follows :

2nd test  pointed to another undefined symbol

I noticed that many of libKF% entries in yast were pointining to version 16
rather than 17 . I upgraded those at level 16 to their equivalent in ver 17
shutdown / restart 

I got a different symbol

After checking only Kvantum and QtCurve work fine
So it's not breeze

I succeeded to override that bug by install qt5ct
but qt5ct just touch the style... it's really weird
Anyway, the qt5ct not help with this bug 

I think this bug (and maybe the other) is caused by something in ki18n or
plasma-integration (https://git.io/v9hJk ?)
To ensure it's not Qt bug it can be tested by create 2 demos apps, one base on
Qt5 and one base on Kf5
in each of them add qml with Slider and check if the bug appears

The "Do not animate panels" is located in System Settings (Workspace) > Desktop

Yes. When you look in the tag hierarchy the parent tag is called "people" in my
install, perhaps that was a setting I made. Below it are the Unconfirmed and
Unknown tags and the other children are the names of people I've tagged.

Weirdly, it's just appeared - I had a hierarchy below People, and on restarting
now I find it is present.

Probably list as resolved and close, leave for others in case they have the
same issue. Tres bizarre.

Hi,

I always get the error message below when trying to configure digikam 5.5 on
Ubuntu 16.10, 17.04, Linux Mint ...

"An error occurred during the internal server start.

I suspect that this might be because digikam tries to initialize using the
executable mysql_install_db which is depreciated in mysql5.7

I found the guide, but it would seem that the dot character is supposed to
match any character. This makes my assumption about why the regex is failing

I can confirm.
I noticed that step 3 isn't actually needed: The Advanced Color Selector isn't
being updated after (or while) picking a color from the Zoom Selector.

remove menu and toolbar bookmarks management from GPS bookmarks manager.
Now a first version suitable is available. More improvements will come later.
Import form older GPS bookmarks generated bu KF5::bookmarks run fine as well.

When the brush size or opacity sliders are disabled, the shortcuts to modify
their values ("[" and "]" or "I" and "O", respectively) still function.

I also noticed some special cases with the smart patch tool:
* The size slider is enabled and the tool itself doesn't seem to make any
special usage of the shift key, but shift+drag doesn't work.
* In the conditions of bug 379957, shift+drag will continue to change the brush
size on the freehand brush tool even though the slider is disabled.
This isn't much of a problem since it seems like tools which intend to disable
the slider don't support shift+drag, but I thought I'd mention it.

* The shortcut chosen for the tool, Shift+I, conflicts with the default
shortcut "Show color selector". If I disable the color selector shortcut,
Shift+I still doesn't work.

* The tooltip shown when hovering over the icon for the smart patch tool
displays the shortcut as an unusual character, and the text "OpenType support
missing for script 32" is printed to the terminal when it appears. This was
also noted in bug 379564 (by Quiralta in comment 1) and bug 378557 (by Scott
Petrovic, number 3 in their first list).

This is because of the following line (#95) in kis_tool_smart_patch.h:
setShortcut(QKeySequence(Qt::Key_Shift + Qt::Key_I));
Which needs to be
setShortcut(QKeySequence(Qt::SHIFT + Qt::Key_I));

However, the shortcut still doesn't work.

The bug is caused by the following code from KisPaintopBox::slotToolChanged()
added in commit ec5837d18ab54a678dcdefebd0d0613cb2d1ccb3 ("Healing brush
tool"):

setWidgetState(ENABLE_SIZE | ENABLE_FLOW);
} else {

The only tool setting this flag at the moment is the smart patch tool. (I also
wonder if flow should be disabled here, unless smart patch uses it.)

patch for the mffs and additional issues


Some additional fixes:

- Fix mffs instruction, FPSCR, C_FPCC field access is not working correctly. 
- Fix xscmpexpdp again still had a bug.
- Remove duplicate tests from test_isa_3_0.c
- Comment out he tests for the new ISA 3.0B instructions.  There seem to be
some issues between the simulator and early HW that need to be sorted out.

Update the expected output again using the ISA 3.0 HW output instead of the
simulator output.  Patch with updated expected output not included in patch

I have added few bash scripts to the system "Open with" menu.
Normally I select files - right click - "open with" - select the script.
Everything works just fine from my file manager (dolphin) but it is not working 
from digikam.
Any ideas on why is this happening?

To reproduce the issue you can create a test script test.sh and make it

failed with the message :

Using yast I noticed that  there is another messagelib available  
17.04.0-45.2 
message lib was upgraded to 17.04. version [ same as messagelib_lang !!! ]

After update. shutdown/restart 
Try again to start kontact .. it fails again by the symptom is changed
..
The new message points to 
/usr/lib64/libkmailprivate.so.5 undefined symbol _ZTIN3kleo17KeySelectionComboE 

It is clear that we have an issue with uncomplete and/or contradictory
packaging .

After replying OK to app icons displaying the above message ] kontact failed


Please note that  the maintenamce methos is exclusively based on rpm .

BEHAVIOR
When I added a Position and Zoom effect from the Effects List to a Color Clip
in the timeline, Kdenlive froze, then crashed.

I've tried the vlc backend for phonon and it works. But the problem is
temporary solved because I want to switch back to gstreamer backend, that
handles the gapless playback (witch is important for the opera lover I am...).

kcm_pulseaudio --reverse -style fusion
Can someone double check ? 
If yes, then I suspect an issue with qtquick. Not with widget style.

Open Dolphin -> Right Click Add Entry... -> location smb://10.0.0.2 -> Open
File Dialogue -> Enter Windows AD authentication details: DOMAIN\username;
password -> OK and crash.
SMB share is hosted on a Windows 2008 R2 machine which is the PDC for a SBS
2011 active directory domain.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

This crash is deep in Qt.

Please only report 1 issue per bug report. This one mentions three and that
makes it impossible to properly investigate. Due to that I'm marking as

When selecting the filter "HSV/HSL Adjustment" for a filter brush, the labels
"Hue" and "Saturation" in the filter settings will appear as "" and
"".
The labels will become correct if the brush settings menu is closed and
reopened, but will gain the ampersand again if "HSV/HSL Adjustment" is
reselected.

to reproduce:

1. start the process of binding a key or key combo to any action, for example
by clicking with the mouse on a GUI binding button
2. hold down the Hyper key (specifically, the key emits keysym 0xffee, defined
in /usr/include/X11/keysym.h as Hyper_R, as the output of /usr/bin/xev
confirms)

observed result:

the GUI binding button's text changes to "Meta+ ..."

expected result:

the GUI binding button's text changes to "Hyper+ ..."


Likewise, holding the Super key (keysym 0xffeb, Super_L) is also misidentified
as Meta.


The other modifier keys Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Meta work fine, though.

I am using plasma wayland session in openSUSE TumbleWeed and I have built the
latest master branch (5.9.95) ...

The wayland session when is starting shows a message for KDE Accessibility Tool
crashed.
I am using Qt 5.7.1 from the official distro repo

The session works with some issues but the most annoying one is that when right
clicking for a context menu e.g. in a plasma panel if I try to deactivate it by
clicking on the desktop the menu is not destroyed. So I can end up with 3-4
same menus and without any easy way to hide it...

The second most annoying issue is that I cant logout from wayland session
because another ksms(something)... service is crashing... so I end up closing
my computer by stopping the electricity...

I think this is possibly to Qt fault but I would like a confirmation...

16.08.2-2.2.1 is the KOrganizer5 version shown in Yast.  On openSuse 42.2 with
updates through yesterday.

Accepting invitations in the form of .ics or iCal files, into an existing
calendar, often results in a message from KOrganizer that "one entry accepted"
but it is not displayed on either the Month or Agenda view.

this sounds odd - do you have many tabs open?

in general, how do you track memory consumption? can you try a heap profiler
like heaptrack to see what happens and what consumes memory?

does anything happen when you do this once RSS memory consumption is reported
as high:

I download a compressed file with firefox and open it with ark. I decompress it
in location (Downloads folder) and now I want to open it with my standard file
manager. 
I would like to have a fast option to open the location of the archive with my
file manager.

Currently I have to navigate to the location manually, or alternatively use the
path in the archive properties (which is slow and cumbersome).

A simple fix would be to add an option on right-clicking the background (here:
http://imgur.com/79l5Lu9) to open the archive location in the file manager.

I would like to open a cmake-based project (let's call it myproject) where the
root CMakeLists.txt in located in an "myproject/src/" subdirectory.

I have created a .kdev4 project file like this:

  Manager=KDevCMakeManager
  Name=myproject

, but when I open it in KDevelop, I can't reuse an old build dir
"myproject/build/" which points to the source dir "myproject/src/": when I try,
KDevelop complains with the following message:

Still valid in KDevelop 5.1.40 (built from git master). No way to rename a
project other than editing the .kdev4 project file.

I'm using a project structure like this for all my projects:
proj_dir/src
proj_dir/bin
proj_dir/lib
proj_dir/doc
...
All sources and the root CMakeLists.txt go into proj_dir/src.
proj_dir/src/CMakeLists.txt <-- root cmake file
proj_dir/src/modA/CMakeLists.txt
proj_dir/src/modB/CMakeLists.txt
proj_dir/src/foo/CMakeLists.txt
...
KDevelop uses the folder name where this root CMakeLists.txt file is located as
project name.
Therefore all my projects are named "src" which is a little bit confusing.

In general I like to see the folder structure in my project view (that's much
better then creating a separate folder structure as in VisualStudio).
But the project name itself is an exception. I would prefer to use the
projectname defined in CMakeLists.txt. At least it would be nice to have a
config option in KDevelop where this feature could be enabled.

Hi,

If I create a transactions report, I see all the transactions
happening in my account one by one. For balances report, I would
need just the overall change in a period(lets say a year), instead
of one by one transaction. It would be great to have an option to
sum all the transactions on one line.

Hi,

Doing a customized version of the transaction report, if you tick the
option Hide split transaction details, and save the report, it shows the
intended report, with one only line per transaction. Exiting kmymoney and
reopening it, the tick won't be there anymore, and the report will shows
several lines per splitted transaction.

Version used:

4.8.0-fbd612529e

Way to reproduce:

1) Create a copy of the transaction reports.
2) Tick the hide split transaction details.
3) Save.
4) Close kmymoney.
5) Open kymoney and the new report.

I doubt it is related to the icon theme. There is no icon with Oxygen either on
the 'Entries' page, despite an icon is visible on the 'General' page.

Is there no way to cache the sorted result the next time the directory is
accessed with the type column for sorting? If nothing has changed within the
directory, such as navigate up/back and then to the directory again...why does
the directory contents need to be sorted again?

Is memoization not an option? Or in my case an extension column to sort would
probably work just as well without requiring to load file contents?

15 folders 14k files directory. Sorted by 'filename' is reasonably quick, by
'type' initial time until display is about 5 seconds, navigations to the
directory without a refresh are 2 seconds delay before displaying anything.

This indicates some sort of caching might be in place, yet is still much slower
than a default filename sort? 

This is with a details view on an SSD, i5-6500 CPU, 32GB RAM, Nvidia 1070
non-free drivers. Distro is Manjaro(no idea why it's missing on the platform
list considering popularity?)

Hi, I tried every trick in the book to re-create the bug, but no show. Might be
also because since reporting it there were some updates to (among others)
akonadi which made things a bit more stable. Consider it closed/ resolved for
now.
