Is also an issue for my install 5.6.0 under Windows 10 and using Microsoft
Outlook 2016 as default email client. While in thumbnail view, I clicked on
Email Image button under Tools - Post Processing (which seems strange to me
that it is there rather than Export...). Brings up email compose window,
however is blank with no image attachment or embedding.

Anyone have status of when the 5.7 version will be released with a fix for
email export?

While convert to transparency mask is a thing, this idea enables one to treat
clone layer as an alpha mask. And yes, there is color to alpha and destination
in, but that requires more computation power. It would improve workflow for
those who loves Krita nondestructive editing.

kgpg doesn't allow for encrypting text using properly imported public keys of
potential recipients. a program for encryption that does not encrypt. there
are no typographical errors in that sentence, so drink it all the way down.
everything from installation through attempted implementation done 100% by the
book without error, if it matters. it's like some dark miracle, really. I'm
in awe. I've imported several public keys. I write the message, I click the
lock and the only option I get is myself! I have no doubt that continued
attempts will drive me fully insane but at present I see no use in encrypting
messages to myself. what a disgrace.

The window of the akonadiconsole cannot be reduced and so any buttons cannot be
accessed on a computer screen with max resolution 1366x786. So nothing can be
changed or configured. (The same applies to the Kmail > configure kmail
window). Since the window is too high it cannot be moved upwards either.

Hi,

Switched from KDE4 to Plasma 5. Didn't like the default flat Breeze look,
switched to the usual "unflat" Oxygen theme, but there appear to be some
glitches with it. One of the glitches is that tabs seem to be non-Oxygen, they
are too flat, as if those were Breeze tabs or something.

Attached screenshots of what tabs looked like in KDE4 Oxygen and what they are
in Plasma 5.

Notice how Oxygen tabs have round corners, how there is space between each tab,
and that the non-focused tabs are just a bit slightly darkened.

Now notice how Plasma 5 tabs are flat with rectangular corners, there is no
separation between them besides a horizontal line, and the non-focused tabs are
a lot darker.

Sorry if this is not the correct product/component for the bug, first time KDE
bug reporter.

[kde] [Bug 383260] New: Resolution changes leak across X sessions

2017-08-07 Thread Neil Skrypuch
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383260

Bug ID: 383260
Summary: Resolution changes leak across X sessions
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: xinerama
  Assignee: l.lu...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@skrypuch.com
  Target Milestone: ---

For context, I have a triple monitor setup (3840x2160 center monitor with a
1600x1200 monitor rotated 90 degrees clockwise to the left and the right of the
center monitor) all connected to a GTX 1080 Ti. In my xorg.conf is a static
metamode (Nvidia style) describing this setup so that it's setup properly even
if I'm not using KDE (SDDM, or a bare X session for example). This all works
great and I've done something similar for many many years.

Now, due to the fact that I normally have a lot of windows open and I don't
want them to be moved around or resized on me (as generally happens if the
resolution is changed) if I do actually want to run something in a different
resolution (mainly games, but also required for Gsync to work (as it only works
with a single active monitor)), then I will start a second X session (:1) and
switch *that* session's resolution, to guarantee that my primary X session (:0)
remains untouched.

Today, I executed the second X session as described above (switching center
monitor to 3840x2160 and the side monitors off via xrandr) and when I was done,
I returned to my primary X session and discovered that my resolution had been
changed (primary and right monitor were off, left monitor was the correct
resolution but no longer rotated). Frustrated, I killed that X session and and
let the static xorg.conf setup fix the resolution, which it did at the login
manager (SDDM). However, immediately after starting KDE, I was returned to the
broken resolution (left monitor not rotated, other two monitors off). At this
point the only way to fix the setup was to manually open nvidia-settings,
rotate my head 90 degrees and reenable the other two monitors and set the
monitor rotations correctly (using the kscreen equivalent probably would work
too - I didn't try, but ultimately not relevant). At this point, the correct
resolution will persist across KDE logins as expected (until of course one
tries to use a second X session again).

This issue is reproducible every time (with the same broken resolution on the
primary X session), regardless of the resolution change that actually happened
on the second X session. This started happening quite recently, no more than 6
months ago, but probably even less.

I'm not sure what specific component is at fault here, but I'm currently using
plasma-5.34.0 and plasma-meta-5.9.5. In the past 6 months, plasma-meta was
updated from 5.8.5 to 5.8.6 and then to 5.9.5, while plasma was updated from
5.29.0 to 5.34.0. I can provide further version details for other packages upon
request.

In short, it appears that KDE is:
a) listening for all resolution changes (across all X sessions, not just the
current X session nor just any X sessions with KDE running in them), and
b) attempting to update the resolution of a KDE session in response to a), and
c) failing badly at changing the resolution (probably because changing
resolution of a non-active X session is generally a no-no), and
d) saving the broken resolution settings and persisting them into the next
session, undoing the static xorg.conf config

I suspect the design intent here was to notice resolution changes in the
current KDE session (even when they happen via xrandr and not through a KDE
tool) and persist them across sessions (arguably a nice feature to have), but
this should not pick up resolution changes in other X sessions (especially
non-KDE X sessions).

directories I did not need and hit the same SIGSEGV twice in a row (see

nothing went wrong.

Steps:
1. Import large project
2. Exclude / filter directories from project.

The GDB log does not include the SIGSEGV but it was on thread 1 at

[kio-extras] [Bug 383256] New: Files become unavailable when a mounted iOS device's screen locks

2017-08-07 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383256

Bug ID: 383256
Summary: Files become unavailable when a mounted iOS device's
screen locks
   Product: kio-extras
   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: default
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pointedst...@zoho.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Steps to reproduce:
1. Plug in an iOS device
2. Click on either of the two cameras (see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383255) that show up in the notification
3. Use dolphin to navigate to /store_*/DCIM/
4. Wait until the iOS device's screen locks
5. Wait another 5 minutes for good measure
6. Attempt to open one of the pictures visible in the Dolphin window

Expected results:
- The file is still available and the picture can still be opened

Actual results:
- A little bit after the screen locks, the directory structure becomes
unavailable again, and trying to open anything in the Dolphin window gives you
an error like "The file or folder
/Apple%20iPhone%205%20(PTP%20mode)@usb:001,010/store_00010004/DCIM/100APPLE/IMG_0353.JPG
does not exist." Files are only available while the device's screen is
unlocked.

Reproducibility:
- The files do not become available again if you unlock the iOS device's screen
and attempt to use the existing Dolphin window; you need to unlock the phone,
close the Dolphin window and go through the steps to reproduce up to step 3
again.

- 100% reproducible with all recent iOS versions (iOS 10.x+) and all iOS
devices I had available (iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad Air 2). Only able to test with
Kubuntu 17.04.

- Not reproducible in macOS. The files remain available after the screen is

[kdevelop] [Bug 382771] Segfault while loading project

2017-08-07 Thread Daniel Santos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382771

(In reply to Kevin Funk from comment #13)

> Please try and report back!

Yes, that makes plenty of sense. For clang, I suppose it's a nice opportunity
to leverage work done to produce tests for gcc. And quite frankly, having
testsuite code parsed is not very valuable at all. Getting good parsing of the
middle-end is, especially for somebody like me with no experience with data
flow analysis, interprocedural constant propagation and such. I don't have
this properly parsed yet, because of the quirk that gcc was converted to C++ a
few years ago, but all of the file still end in .c. I believe I've found the
fix in KDevelop for that, but I need to rebuild gcc (for build tree headers)
and reparse. When I'm done with this, perhaps I should write a blog post about
using KDevelop to work on gcc.

But as for this bug, I still want to try to reproduce the crash I was having
earlier to make sure that this is the full and correct work-around. I'll try
to get back with you as soon as possible.

Thanks!
Daniel

   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Notification showing two camera devices when an iPhone 5 is plugged in

Steps to reproduce:
1. Plug in an iOS device

Expected results:
- A system tray notification appears notifying the user about the presence of a
new camera device

Actual results:
- A system tray notification appears notifying the user about the presence of
TWO camera devices. See attached screenshot.

Reproducibility:
- Seems to affect all recent iOS versions (iOS 10.x+) and all iOS devices I had
available (iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad Air 2). Only able to test with Kubuntu 17.04.

Additional information:
- Both entries are completely identical and whichever one is opened first is
fully functional.

--- Comment #6 from geo...@wildturkeyranch.net ---
Looks like two choices to me:

1) Get the folks who's code your using to give you a fix, possibly an
addition option to order the header, or

2) Grab/purloin/etc. said code, fix the issue and make that part of
Kmymoney.

To me, the problem is the solution is dead in the water, and, for me,
has caused me to stop using the card.

[konsole] [Bug 382947] Meta key updates konsole viewport

2017-08-07 Thread Kurt Hindenburg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382947

To clarify, hitting Meta key causes Konsole to scroll to be the bottom similar
to hitting Enter?

On my Neon system, hitting left "meta" key opens the KDE/plasma menu. Right
one does nothing.

The error is that when color scanning the program closes automatically, the
same thing happens with simple scan, which gives segmentation fail. However
with xsane there is no problem in scanning both black and white and color, if I
can help you by writing some command to find the error, there is nothing more
to say, a greeting and thanks for your great work. I'm on manjaro 17.0.2 and
the version of skanlite is 2.0.1

[kdevelop] [Bug 383249] New: Sessions in the jump list

2017-08-07 Thread Diego Garcia
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383249

Bug ID: 383249
Summary: Sessions in the jump list
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.1.1
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Session support
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dnico...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

It'd be nice to have sessions available in the task manager jump list. So we
can open a different session in another desktop/activity without having to go
find kdev and drag the new window over.
I don't know if you can have submenus in jump lists, so maybe an option to open
the sessions picker?

So it would seem it's a problem of Qt upstream if assistant also fails, not
something we can really help with, sorry.

You may want to report this upstream in the qt bug tracker (only mention
assistant, otherwise they'll try to shift it back to "KDE being broken")

You are right. assistant-qt5 has the same issue (although I don't know how to
enable the right logging that shows me the lpr command args that are being
run).

lpstat -a shows me all 149 printers in this format:
PRINTER_NAME accepting requests since DAY_DATE_TIME

[dolphin] [Bug 383248] New: when starting a task on a file item I cannot click anymore on file items

2017-08-07 Thread Wim Delvaux
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383248

Bug ID: 383248
Summary: when starting a task on a file item I cannot click
anymore on file items
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 16.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: wim.delv...@adaptiveplanet.com
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

when I open dolphin all is fine,
when I left click on a file item to run the corresponding action (e.g. open a
video file using VLC), the program starts.

When I close VLC, dolphin no longer accepts clicks anymore.

Keyboard works fine but mouse button do not work anymore.

I noticed that this does not happen with all programs (just with most). E.g.
viewing with dragon player does not seem to 'kill' the mouse buttons.

However starting a konsole (e.g when you click on a bash script) does kill the
mouse buttons.

This is VERY annoying

At this point i'd say this is most likely a Qt/distribution bug, please install
the qt5 assistant program and see if can you print from there (make sure you're
running the Qt5 version by doing Help->About)

Since basically we're asking Qt your printer name and it says its empty "".
What is the output of lpstat -a?

2017-08-07 Thread Mircea Kitsune
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380008

I randomly decided to google parts of my dmesg output. I was surprised to
discover that someone else has reported a very similar issue, which looks like
it might have the same root as mine!

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101325

The dmesg output their provided almost perfectly matches my last log, and they
also have a RadeonSI card which further narrows down the problem. The main
difference is that they experience this with Unreal Engine 4 Editor, whereas
for me the trigger is the Plasma desktop.

That report seems to contain a fair amount of logs, so hopefully bringing it
and this together can help produce a solution at long last.

@Neon packagers, to be clear: You need this patch for the LLVM version which

Actually, there's already a patch (approved & merged) upstream which I forgot
about:
  https://reviews.llvm.org/D31524

Thanks to Lisandro et al.

@Lisandro: I think we can consider this fixed, correct? At least from our side,
there's nothing else to -- upstream distros need to patch their LLVM copies.

New crash log

Hi, I'm still having the same issue in 3.2.0 rc1. I missed some files the first
time around that were in the AppData\Local folder, but I'm pretty sure I've
removed everything now because the language changed from English to the
language of my main system IME.

It didn't really help though, I'm getting the same (or at least similar)
crashes so I'm attaching a new crash log.

I'm not sure if that's the full reason.

In thread 1 we'll see a window being destructed, so it's doing a final call to
the render thread to delete things, but that's ending up doing a full on (now
broken) full frame swap.

[frameworks-kglobalaccel] [Bug 383245] New: Enable keycode-based shortcuts rather than character-based

2017-08-07 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383245

Bug ID: 383245
Summary: Enable keycode-based shortcuts rather than
character-based
   Product: frameworks-kglobalaccel
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mgraess...@kde.org
  Reporter: ska...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

As more and more users become multilingual and switch keyboard layout between
different languages this begins to have an increasing impact on the usability
of any keyboard shortcut.

Currently, given a shortcut defined as a sequence of characters, it may only be
reachable using different keys, or not at all if the current keyboard layout is
so much different.

A few examples:

CTRL-SHIFT-4 (this gets interpreted as CTRL-$ on a US keyboard), but after
switching to Hungarian, when pressing the same keys CTRL-! is being sent. On a
Russian layout that would turn into CTRL-;

So many mappings of the same keys make it impossible to optimally use keyboard
shortcuts in a multi-lingual environment.

Please allow shortcuts to be mapped to keycodes, so the same keystrokes can
work regardless of their logical mapping.
