[dolphin] [Bug 385156] Dolphin fails to open xlsx files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385156 --- Comment #9 from Kevin Gilbert--- OK: (1) No bleeding edge version available. :( (2) Compiling from git a major undertaking with missing dependencies & etc (that's after installing all the required dependencies via "dnf builddep"). The problem may be cause by some ECM package. I installed that from source but the Dolphin build failed with incorrect versions. All too much trouble - I'll wait for RedHat to catch-up. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385156 Nate Grahamchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |FIXED --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- Aha! When I turn on "Open archives as folder" I can now reproduce this on my Fedora 26 test system. That system is using Dolphin 17.04.1, same as the one where you experience the issue. I can't reproduce the issue on Dolphin 17.08 or from git master, so I have to assume that the issue has either been fixed since 17.04, or else it's a downstream problem with the way Red Hat is packaging Dolphin or creating the KDE spin. If you can upgrade or compile from git master, it would be instructive to see if the issue goes away. If it does, it's been fixed. If it doesn't, there's an issue with the Fedora KDE spin's packaging. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182994 Nate Grahamchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED Latest Commit||https://commits.kde.org/oku ||lar/6b5a7c9a1a00dec994cfb03 ||b0abf369539168758 --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- Git commit 6b5a7c9a1a00dec994cfb03b0abf369539168758 by Nathaniel Graham. Committed on 01/10/2017 at 01:45. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. Custom background color Summary: Adds an option to the config dialog that enables background color (the color around the displayed page) to be changed (while by default preserving the Qt toolkit selection as not to affect existing users). Reasons for this change: Accessibility, eye strain, aesthetic reasons, color displayed on monitor can affect power consumption (how: depends on display technology). Many people want this change occording to Bugzilla and other sources. Maintenance: Nearly no additional maintenance: This is no new subsystem but a trivial feature with no complex code dependencies, and we are already showing a colour selection dialog and setting colours in other places in Okular. {F4257766} Other less important information: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/130219/ https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/okular-devel/2017-September/025520.html Test Plan: Tested everything, it all works: Toggled the custom background color, changed custom background color, removed okular settings file (with: "rm ~/.config/okular*") to verify it uses the usual qt theme colour by default (where the settings file remembered the custom color). [frameworks-kio] [Bug 179678] KIO needs PolicyKit-kde integration
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179678 shevegenchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||sheve...@gmail.com --- Comment #20 from shevegen --- This is terrible news. I used to complain about the Gnome devs treating users as being stupid, but now this has leaked into KDE. Just now I write this on my laptop where I run KDE Plasma. I broke ncurses so nano does not work, so I need an editor. I was thinking "hey, I can use kate". Ok installing kate worked. Then I try to open it and kate REFUSES to obey, boring me with an extremely irrelevant message aka "Executing Kate as root is not possible. To edit files as root use: SUDO_EDITOR=kate sudoedit " Now this is interesting. Firstly, I have to say that I tried the above AND IT DOES NOT WORK, so great job by those KDE devs who changed behaviour and did not provide a work around. Yes, I know a "work around" - I can change permission as superuser anyway, edit it with kate, then change the permission again. I can also use other editors too. I have tons of workaround BUT THE ISSUE IS THAT SOME RANDOM KDE DEV SIMPLY CRIPPLED KATE HERE. So firstly, please fire that dude. Second, please stop dumbing down KDE everywhere. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the superuser account. I am aware that you transitioned into a "we work for average joe - and for red hat" but you used to be cool in the past, so what happened with KDE? There is some propaganda here: https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2017/02/editing-files-as-root/ None of this applies or is relevant but the problem is that some random dude dictated onto everyone else. BAD decision. This Martin dude does not run software on MY machine. Why can he decide how I should run it? I can probably find the faulty code and remove it but that means I have to invest time... which Martin doesn't pay me for. I have to find out if he works for Red Hat, then this explains why he crippled kate. It's not a big deal anyway since other editors will work fine or I can find thousand other ways to modify text files, including via scripts - but seriously KDE people, what happened to you? Did Microsoft buy you in? KDE Plasma looks like a Win10 clone. You used to be cool. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The release page for 5.8.6 ( https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.8.7.php ) links to "Source Info" page for 5.9.2. This has delayed the ability for us (Adélie Linux) to package and release a desktop based on KDE Plasma 5. Thankfully a helpful IRC user (demm on freenode) directed me to Attic/ where 5.8.7 has been [accidentally?] moved, so that I could at least start the packaging process (however I hope these URLs will be stable/ again, at least for 5.8.8). Currently there is no easy and complete way to know which of such options were chosen for the application the user is actually running. This was the subject of a reviewboard request https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/119287/ which was discarded. My understanding is that there were not any theoretical problems with the request, but there seemed to be a problem with the implementation. If so, I'd like to keep this as a potential feature, perhaps to be revisited once the Frameworks migration is complete. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdevelop] [Bug 384953] KDevelop Open dialogue box is dog-butt slow when code is parsing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384953 --- Comment #5 from Daniel Santos--- (In reply to Sven Brauch from comment #4) > Seemingly weird question, is the welcome page (with the KDevelop logo and > the seesion list) showing when you experience this problem? I guess that's not weird, I know it's been a bit sluggish sometimes for me in the past (still using a Phenom-based machine!), but it isn't open. > I don't have that issue here and there is quite certainly not a lock in > place causing this ... the dialog is provided by a completely separate > component, and has no shared code with the rest of the IDE ... I guess this is one of those wonderful mysteries. So I ran iotop while doing this and trying a few different things out. The I/O hovers between 35 and 50% during parsing, so I wouldn't expect I/O waits for the open dialog to be very long (I have a 3-device software RAID 5 array). Moving the scroll bar or typing in the code editor lags by around 100 to 500-ish milliseconds during parsing with 4 threads. In the open dialog, it is sometimes perfectly responsive, with HID events being processed in less time that I can perceive (this may be towards the beginning of parsing?). Then it will suddenly change to where response times vary between 2 to 20-ish seconds, with an average somewhere around 8-10. Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with both KDE and QT, so I wouldn't be sure where to start trying to diagnose the underlying cause. If I "stop-all" then the open dialog behaves normally. I'll see if I can learn anything in gdb. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I have installed kaffeine on both using the software manager. I am trying to used the DVD player function on both. On one it works fine and on the other it appears to go into a loop with nothing changing on the display. I used the System monitor to see the process kaffeine-xbu at a very constant 20%. On the computer with the loop I have verified that the hardware is not the problem by using VLC to play the dvd successfully. One signification difference between the two computers is the number of cores. On the computer that has kaffeine working successfully there is two cores. On the computer that does not have kaffeine working successfully there is four cores (AMD A8-7600). I have three questions: 1. must I used KDE to run kaffeine - I suspect the answer is no 2.I have looked at all of the kaffeine setting that are exposed by the GUI and do not see anything that might address a loop problem - am I missing something? 3. [systemsettings] [Bug 385245] New: System Settings Segmentation fault on Font or Display configuration
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385245 Bug ID: 385245 Summary: System Settings Segmentation fault on Font or Display configuration Product: systemsettings Version: 5.10.95 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_fonts Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: bug2...@wolke7.net CC: unassigned-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 108103 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108103=edit systemsettings5-20170930-181806.kcrash.txt I've tried plasma 5.10.95 on a gentoo system with debug information. It was worse than plasma-5.10. My computer is a notebook with an 4k screen, to fix the scaling I force the font to 192dpi. Compared to the previos version and a X11 session, something was obvios wrong everything was huge, like 2-4 time larger than it should be. After opening the systemsetting to see if there is something wrong, the fist thing I saw was that the widgets where not fitting into the window (some flickering outside). I resized the window to stop that. It crashed after activating font or the diplay config/tab. The backtrace looks more like it was the font dialog. (I think I've change from diplay to font) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[konversation] [Bug 385244] New: Channels with names starting with numbers produce conflicting shortcuts when the tabs are set to appear on top or bottom
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385244 Bug ID: 385244 Summary: Channels with names starting with numbers produce conflicting shortcuts when the tabs are set to appear on top or bottom Product: konversation Version: 1.7.2 Platform: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: ircview Assignee: argo...@gmail.com Reporter: wea...@yandex.ru CC: konversation-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- When the tabs are set to "top" or "bottom", if a channel name (or possibly any tab name)'s first legal character is a number, the automatically assigned hotkey for that tab conflicts with the Alt+1..0 hotkeys to jump directly between tabs. This can be fixed by making numbers illegal characters to produce the tab's shortcuts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[konversation] [Bug 385243] New: Change the behaviour of the Alt+1..0 hotkeys (to quickly switch between tabs)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385243 Bug ID: 385243 Summary: Change the behaviour of the Alt+1..0 hotkeys (to quickly switch between tabs) Product: konversation Version: Git Platform: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: ircview Assignee: argo...@gmail.com Reporter: wea...@yandex.ru CC: konversation-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 108102 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108102=edit Current proposed patch I opened up the work and testing that I did for this on phabricator: https://phabricator.kde.org/D8053 The patch that I'm currently proposing is also attached to this report. I reworked the hotkeys for Alt+1..0 to only switch between tabs of channels in the context of the current server, excluding the server, while Alt+Shift+1..0 switch between tabs representing servers. I think this might make managing active servers more intuitive and easy for people who have many servers and channels opened at once, while still being useful for people who only have a few. [dolphin] [Bug 375452] Add shortcut to focus the folder view
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375452 --- Comment #2 from andydecle...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Elvis Angelaccio from comment #1) > What about making the folder view as the next widget in the focus chain? > That would mean: Shit + Tab, only once. No need for a new shortcut. Would that also work from the filter bar (which is my most common case for this)? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[gwenview] [Bug 385242] New: Custom shortcut ESC can ostensibly be set, but will not work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385242 Bug ID: 385242 Summary: Custom shortcut ESC can ostensibly be set, but will not work Product: gwenview Version: 17.04.2 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: andydecle...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- To Reproduce: 1. Open Gwenview 2. Set an alternate shortcut for Quitting the app to ESC; apply 3. Hit ESC 4. Hit ESC 5. Check for ambiguous shortcut settings What Happens: After step 3, nothing happens. After step 4, a dialog states "The key sequence 'Esc' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered." After step 5, no ambiguous shortcuts are discovered. This bug was introduced in the commit linked below, which was intended to address an unrelated issue. What Should Happen: After step 3, Gwenview should be closed. [krita] [Bug 385238] Floating dockers not resizable on OS X
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385238 --- Comment #2 from Bernhard Liebl--- Yes, disabling the custom titlebar is the only fix in Krita, I looked at the QT code and there's no way to fix it from the outside. I'll look into titlebar disabling on OS X a bit more, it would need to only happen if palettes are floating. I also hope the QT guys take the report seriously, it's a small but highly annoying issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
