Can you decrypt this on the command line?

(Run CMD and then do "gpg --decrypt " basically this is
what kleopatra does under the hood and kleopatra gets "no secret key" from the
gnupg system.

Also please check that your secret key is listed if you do a "gpg -K" (which is
the command for secret key listing.

Maybe the output of gpg will show a hint on error.

Hi, Elvis:

I'm not sure what makes you think "installation looks broken" ?
Is there any particular package or file you think missing , or any dependency
version you think is wrong ?

I tried to remove Ark and install again but still the same, not sure how to
investigate further in this ?

The file/path picker works fine with no problem when using "Open" button to
open an archive file.

Thanks

[digikam] [Bug 387487] New: Browsing through thumbnails quickly with right arrow key causes crash

2017-11-30 Thread DP
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387487

Bug ID: 387487
Summary: Browsing through thumbnails quickly with right arrow
key causes crash
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-MainView
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: digi...@feb17.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I recently did fresh install of digicam on a win10 machine and it found a few
folders with hundreds of images each. If I open one of those albums, double
click on a picture I get to the gallery with thumbnails along the top and
images at the bottom. Browsing too quickly through these images by pressing
the right arrow repeatedly very reliably crashes the app with a runtime
exception (no more details in the error). I haven't found any factor other
than speed that causes the problem. Once the key advancing gets too quick, the
image doesn't load before I hit next. I get an "image failed to load" message
in top right that seems to be a result of this, and then if you keep pressing
right arrow the application crashes. I suspect maybe a race condition between
the loading of the image and the advancing. It makes it hard to flip through
a gallery quickly and safely without exiting the whole app :(

The stack trace of kwin hanging when running on seat1 (non seat0)

Hi

I have a logind started session where my seat is not seat0 (it's seat1 for the
example)
I am trying to start Kwin in the same way that I can get it to start on seat1
(same variables and everything the same arguments) from within this session. (
$XDG_SEAT=seat1 , $(loginctl seat-status |head -1) == seat1 )

There doesn't seem to be a way to specify the seat on the command line, and
maybe I am missing a variable. ...It could be that it is trying to use devices
on seat0, or connect to seat0, but that's just my guess based on what a few
other Wayland display servers tried to do when I tried to start it on seat1

I have the stack trace attached.

It seems to hang VERY early, before it logs anything, and doesn't seem to do
anything to the display. ...I was able to get the stack trace by attaching gdb
to the process from a terminal running in seat0

[plasmashell] [Bug 387328] Squished fonts

2017-11-30 Thread John
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387328

So i was getting quite frustrated with the font issue and rolled back to a
snapshot I had before the font bug happened. That seems to have gotten rid of
the issue, so it must have been some sort of weird setting I added while
adjusting my HiDPI settings. For now the problem seems to be gone so I guess
this issue can be closed.

Thanks for your help.

[okular] [Bug 383915] Okular crashes with a segfault on reload for some synctex files

2017-11-30 Thread Henrik Fehlauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383915

Thanks for testing, your collection sounds impressive! You should run your
script regularly and report any new problems ;)

As for Okular, we (as in whoever contributes this) should extend
https://phabricator.kde.org/source/okular/browse/master/autotests/parttest.cpp;069a18b041ce3615ac9c6546c57399fe61481dc8$183
to also cover broken documents. Apart from that, it's not really Okular's job
to test synctex itself.

There is also , but this is nearly unusable without any buildsystem/testrunner. I
wonder if upstream is running all those test manually?

> Are you sure, this is not an expected behavior for old synctex files?
Well, screaming "! Error" and "ignoring records" is not something I would
expect ;) It was my first guess too yesterday, but looking at the upstream
commit you'll see that this line was there before (but commented out), it was
only moved around and set active by default. This means the format errors could
have been there all along. Are they going away if you recompile those old
documents? Still, it looks like broken backwards compatibility.

Anyway, the only way to know for sure is to ask upstream, because I don't know
a thing about this and also I have no access to the tex source to create the
synctex file in question (with an older texlive version?) in the first place…
Worst that could happen is a WONTFIX, best a patch. Just try it, I'd say.

> Okular could just call the synctex command line tool
Interesting, might be worth thinking about. However, I'm not yet convinced
switching from a C API (with type checking and only breaking at compile time,
i.e. before reaching users) to a Bash API (passing strings over pipes and
runtime version checks breaking on user's machines) is a good idea.

> If the synctex cmdline tool crashes, it does not affect okular
As you noted, for exploits this point is irrelevant. For crashing in general,
decoupling is only worth the effort if it crashes very often, but again, then
the crash should be fixed in the first place as we have access to the source.

> After the first shift-click, the user could be asked for confirmation
Not sure about this one. I think this approach has been shown to fail where it
is needed most: Non-technical users. For all others it is just an annoyance.
Would you like Gwenview to ask whether you trust a JPG? (We have dozens of
duplicate EXIV crasher bugs, but only two for synctex.)

> Okular would not depend on synctex.
Could also be achieved by runtime-loading synctex support as a plugin?

> Delaying to load the synctex file until the first shift-click is of course
> also an option if synctex is used as library.
This is an excellent idea! If only I had more time to work on such things…

Hmm, looks normal, too. Not sure what to do now.

After playing around some more, I could finally observe a crash. Unfortunately,
I'm not able to crash Okular a second time to capture anything…

Albert: Do you see any hints in the backtrace?

When setting a breakpoint on Page::width, pressing the mouse button and moving
a single pixel to select (no matter whether annotation or regular text
selection), I get the same backtrace, without the crash of course. I looks
quite normal, but why would it crash afterwards?

Will do. I only have some general ideas right now, in addition to

the "new" feature to get a better idea. I haven't really been noticing it

upgrading to Qt 5.8 ... and when I did I restored my config by restoring a
backup kdeglobals file.

> if (font.bold())

> }

What if you do `font.setWeight(QFont::Bold)` instead, possibly overriding the
styleName with `font.setStyleName(QString())` (supposing that indeed clears the
property)?

The impression I'm getting here is that the styleName property is something
that's best left untouched except when you want "to match the font with
irregular styles" (citing the 5.8.0 documentation for QFont). That
documentation also suggests the properties in question might not be possible to
capture with the other QFont attributes but I'd take that with a grain of salt.
Qt determines that styleName somehow and presumably that's from metadata stored
in the font and relayed through libfreetype of CoreText (styleName is
apparently not used on other platforms, yet).

"selectedFilter" parameter is always set to the first one, no matter which one
the user selected.

Example code:
--
QString selectedFilter;
QString fileName = QFileDialog::getSaveFileName(this,
  "QFileDialog::getSaveFileName()",
  "hello.txt",
"All Files (*);;UTF-16 Files (*.txt);;UTF-8 Files (*.txt)",
  );
qWarning() << "selectedFilter: " << selectedFilter;
--

If the user selects "UTF-8 Files (*.txt)", "UTF-16 Files (*.txt)" is printed
instead.

Qt's built-in dialog don't have this problem.

Thanks

@David Edmundson: I was refering to RSS, not VSS.

I'll generate massif traces tomorrow (reading the linked documentation it'll
likely take several tries to obtain something usable).

Git commit ff2e8834694a478519f342ecc02bb2e307e87769 by Martin Flöser.
Committed on 30/11/2017 at 20:51.
Pushed by graesslin into branch 'master'.

Add support for new IdleInhibition protocol

Summary:
A small helper class is added which manages inhibiting idle for the
ShellClients. So far only very basic functionality is added. That is
only the inhibition on the Surface is followed. It is not yet checked
whether the ShellClient is visible at all. That needs some changes in
ShellClient.
FIXED-IN: 5.12

Definitely not WONTFIX. Might be Okular, might be Qt, might be the way Leap

[kdenlive] [Bug 386932] Audio playback is different pitch & not smooth.

2017-11-30 Thread Jesse
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386932

UPDATE #2: I tested the 17.08.3 Appimage on Ubuntu 17.10 and opened an older
edit project I did from back in July. different mp3 audio files; but same
result. The audio is higher in pitch and is faster than it should be.

Opening on Ubuntu 17.10 with the non-Appimage of the git master does not
produce this bug; plays fine.

[plasmashell] [Bug 387128] Memory leak in plasmashell with persistent notifications

I also have the same issue happen to me (also using archlinux with version
5.11.4, qt 5.9.3)
every time a notification pops up plasmashell memory usage goes up bit but
never goes down..
After some digging it seems this memory leak started with this commit which
added the notifications history:
https://cgit.kde.org/plasma-workspace.git/commit/?id=28d86ab4356737260e054009795e595fbb069158

It seems that in Notifications.qml the notificationsHistoryModel var has the
notifications being added to it but either notificationsHistoryModel isn't
getting cleared or it is but the memory isn't for some reason (maybe Qt is
doing something weird ?)

Anyway hopes this info helps track the bug.

I can confirm this is happening with plasma-nm 5.11.3, on Arch Linux, although
it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the number of WiFi connections
(currently happening with only 7 networks available) - not sure if it's the
same or a different issue.
