[juk] [Bug 389372] Version 3.12. Crash on startup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389372 --- Comment #2 from Alan Howlett--- Juk is currently working apparently just fine today. Can you give me a path to the 3.12 debug package- they are not part of mint and I can find everything else except the package I want. I have only done routine apt-get update & upgrade, nothing special with Juk except I changed the directory path (yesterday I think) from //diskstation/mp3/moved to /home/ahowlett/Music The latter path is still in place and working just fine. Ah... I also had an issue with SMB. I use a synology diskstation as my server, which was set to only use SMB1 and I became unable to access it at some point when I upgraded my machine (mint) and my box decided it did not want to use SMB1 any more. Thank you for your interest so far. I wish to help you get to the bottom of this if I can- and it might indeed be an issue coming from SMB stopping working. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kate] [Bug 389388] KATE - There is no option to search all open documents
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389388 Kåre Särschanged: What|Removed |Added CC||kare.s...@iki.fi Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Kåre Särs --- Thanks for the report. Again my suggestion is to reassign the shortcut and just use the Search plugin :) This series of bug reports clearly shows that we do have a problem when it come to our search capabilities. Kate is built around KTextEditor which provides the "built-in" search bar and we have Ctrl-F assigned to that search bar. KTextEditor only knows about one document and it's search-bar only knows about that same one document. The KTextEditor component is used in multiple different editors that do not provide their own search capabilities, so the search bar has to be part of KTextEditor. But then we do have the Search plugin. This plugin again is not as minimalistic as the built-in search bar and requires a lot more space. Now I'm asking all developers what changes would it take to make the searh plugin a viable replacement for the built-in search and have Ctrl-F and F3 assigned to the search plugin by default in Kate? Should we add a minimalistic mode with only search? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389387 Kåre Särschanged: What|Removed |Added CC||kare.s...@iki.fi --- Comment #1 from Kåre Särs --- Thanks for the report! https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389384 Kåre Särschanged: What|Removed |Added CC||kare.s...@iki.fi --- Comment #3 from Kåre Särs --- There is already the search plugin that does advanced search in files. That one is also not a popup by design. Please try reassigning ctrl-f to "Search in Files" and F3 to "Go to Next Match" and try again. We moved away from popup dialogs because no mater where you place them they will always be on top of some text and you have to move them around I will not close this bug yet, but I think chances are very slim that there will be any change. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

If I have two quicktiled windows side-by-side, and I maximize one of them and quicktile it back to where it was before, the other window remains partially covered by the maximized texture. It won't go away until I bring the corrupted window into focus, and then everything is normal again. Unfortunately when I try to take a screenshot with spectacle, the corruption goes away, so I had to take some pictures with my phone. I can't remember exactly when this started happening, but I think it was with Plasma 5.11. It happens under both OpenGL and XRender. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389372 --- Comment #1 from Michael Pyne--- Hi Alan, If you have debug packages available for juk I'd like to request that you install those (or otherwise enable those) and see if you can reproduce the crash. If you can please comment with the backtrace or attach as a comment, those make it significantly easier to troubleshoot the issue, especially for those like me who no longer maintain KDE4 development environments. Also, have you recently upgraded or otherwise changed juk itself? Or did this start happening out of the blue? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I can connect if i use a cabel connection with Celestron Nexstar/GPS Driver but CANNOT if i try via wifi to my Celestron SkyPortal Wifi Modul to his IP Number. It works fine with Skysafari, so i know the problem is the Celestron Nextstar Driver from kstars/Ekos. I tried older and newer vesion of the Driver and kstars its the same problem. After just 5-10 seconds after it tries connecting, it stops with an Timeouterror!(See Logfile Output down below). However if i try the EQMod Mount Driver kstars/ekos CAN connect to SkyPoral Wifi Modul, but i cant move the Telescope because its the wrong TelesopeDriver i suppose. But the fact that i can connect means that the Celestron Nexstar Driver could work, if it would be fixed, because how the EQMod Mount Driver successfully connects per IP over Wifi to the SkyPortal Wifi Modul. Also I tried a false IP with the EQMod Mount Driver and the connection failed, so the EQMod Mount Driver does successfully work with SkyPortal Wifi Modul(See Logfile down below). [okular] [Bug 336617] Feature request: disable fit-to-page while printing.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336617 --- Comment #11 from Albert Astals Cid--- This should be relatively easy to do, all you need to do is add a new checkbox in the options print page of all the generators that use fileprinter to print and then with that you set QPrinter::setFullPage and then in fileprinter you check that and in FilePrinter::optionPageMargins you give cups the correct parameters. But honestly I am *way beyond* in reviewing stuff from https://phabricator.kde.org/differential/query/qqtiK_7v34YX/ (I am not the maintainer but noone else seems to be doing reviews so I guess people still wait for he to do the reviews) so the little free hobby time i have to work on Okular I will try to spend it trying to get that list shorter by doing reviews, not longer by doing new code. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kate] [Bug 389388] New: KATE - There is no option to search all open documents
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389388 Bug ID: 389388 Summary: KATE - There is no option to search all open documents Product: kate Version: unspecified Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: search Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dean.beed...@lightquick.co.uk Target Milestone: --- Strangely, when you are searching there is no option to search all open documents. To achieve this you have to perform a search and replace instead. You perform a search and fail to find the string in the current file, then you have to click on the search and replace button at the very bottom left of Kate's window. This leaves you with a search bar already open and then another search bar with an additional unwanted replace field. Having two search fields open simultaneously is very messy and well, just a bit rubbish. Furthermore, the first search field may well be populated but the second search box remains statically empty. You have to retype the search string into the new field... This process just does NOT work. Solution: Have a simple pop up dialog box with a radio button option to allow the search to operate within all open files. Do away with the bottom search bar altogether. The search field in a new pop up dialog box will be automatically filled based upon the clipboard contents or last search regardless of whether it is a simple search or a search/replace requested. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 389386] New: KATE Switching from tab to tab loses the search context
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389386 Bug ID: 389386 Summary: KATE Switching from tab to tab loses the search context Product: kate Version: unspecified Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: search Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dean.beed...@lightquick.co.uk Target Milestone: --- When multiple files are open in tabs, switching from tab to tab loses the search context immediately, replacing the current search with an out-of-date search, ie. the one last used on a different tab. To continue the current search, you must have already copied the current search into the copy buffer then you have to paste the clipboard contents into the search area of the newly selected tab. This is very cumbersome and makes Kate almost unusable for searching. Bear in mind that this must be performed for each tab that you have open and that it is a real pain... Solution: Allow the current search context to be retained regardless of which tab is selected. In this case, clicking on a tab and then pressing F3 (continued search) finds all subsequent occurrences of the current search string without having to open a new search bar. The way I am suggesting is standard functionality for most other advanced editors. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 389384] New: KATE Pop-up Search Option
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389384 Bug ID: 389384 Summary: KATE Pop-up Search Option Product: kate Version: unspecified Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dean.beed...@lightquick.co.uk Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 110099 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110099=edit mock up screenshot showing Kate search in a typical pop up box Kate has an inconsistent search function that is inferior to other advanced editors. This area is the only part of Kate that is generally sub-standard in my opinion. I'd go so far as to say that the inferior search capabilities make Kate rather unusable in the long run. Other advanced editors achieve decent search facilities in an improved fashion. I'll explain: Using Windows - searching for a term using ctrl+f reveals a search bar at the bottom of the page. Problems: 1. The search bar is at the bottom of the editor window and often completely off screen when Kate is run in a window. The bottom is not a good place for a search bar. As the search is placed here by default you cannot use Kate with the bottom portion of the window off the screen. 2. When Kate is in full screen mode the search bar is right at the bottom of the text, almost as far away from the location where the code is being edited as it could be. Always having to move to the bottom of the screen for a search is both awkward and frustrating. Solution for 1 & 2: A much more natural approach is to have the option of a search box that by default, pops-up in the centre of the window (the old bottom bar functionality could be retained for legacy usage as an option within settings). The new pop up search box would easily be positioned by the user by dragging it anywhere on screen. Each time a search is requested the dialog box pops up in the user's last defined position or it could intelligently place itself in a useful position. This is convenient for the user and much more efficient than the current method as it means the search function is always in the most convenient location. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389382 Bug ID: 389382 Summary: Add right click options for recently opened files in task manager icons Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Currently, when right-clicking icons in the icons-only task manager, it shows the most recently opened files with the application that is being right clicked. Clicking them with the left, right, or middle click has the same effect of opening them. Would be helpful if a right click could trigger more options (like in Windows 7+), such as selectively forgetting some of these files, pinning some to the application icon's right click menu, etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kde] [Bug 389381] New: Add functionality to close window previews with a middle-click
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389381 Bug ID: 389381 Summary: Add functionality to close window previews with a middle-click Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- It would be nice if the window previews could have the functionality of closing windows with a middle click, rather than only by clicking the red 'x' button. By 'window previews' I mean those that are shown with the icons-only task manager when there are multiple instances of one application running (either when clicking them or when hovering the mouse over the icon), and the ones shown in the 'Desktop Grid' or 'Present Windows' views that can be configured as actions for the screen edges. Even though there is the option to configure middle-click behavior on icons, it doesn't affect window previews, and would make more sense to behave differently on them than on icons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 387456] [Wayland] Large Icons task switcher appears in top left corner of the screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387456 Michael Dchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||nortex...@gmail.com --- Comment #3 from Michael D --- I've got the same problem on plasma 5.11.5. Probably unrelated, but the selection of non-default (Breeze) "visualizations" (such as Large Icons) doesn't always work--it often gets stuck on the first or second (don't remember) window in the list. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdelibs] [Bug 174354] Defaults to A4 paper, even though 'US Letter' is specified in settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174354 Michael Weghornchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |UPSTREAM Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED --- Comment #26 from Michael Weghorn --- (In reply to Garry Williams from comment #25) > It's not fixed. > > Kmail 5.7.1 exhibits this behavior. > > Both Okular (1.2.1) and Kmail always are set to print A4 no matter what I > did in the past. Duplex mode is also forgotten from one print to the next. > > This seems very broken since I set these options in the system and *all* > non-KDE applications respect my settings automatically. Thanks for the reply and sorry if my previous comment caused confusion. The actual cause why the wrong paper size is selected by default (and not the default paper size configured by the user) is a problem of the underlying Qt library used by KDE applications, not of KDE or the applications (like KMail or Okular) themselves. The problem has been fixed for the current development version of Qt, s. this change: https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/213677/ Users will profit from this once their distribution ships the (upcoming) Qt version 5.11 or their Linux distribution backports the corresponding change to the Qt version they provide. As far as the preselected value for duplex is concerned, there is a separate bug report for this, bug 333844. While this is currently filed against Okular, it is also an issue in Qt and I am very confident that this is going to be fixed in Qt very soon as well. Since the issue is not in KDE itself (and has already been fixed upstream), I am closing this bug report. Please let me know in case there are any further questions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
