https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392663 Bug ID: 392663 Summary: Default search doesn't show results for files that are clearly there Product: dolphin Version: 17.12.3 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: search Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: polarathene-sig...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: --- This seems to be more of a Baloo issue rather than Dolphin I think. At least I think Dolphin defaults to Baloo on a default install. In the Downloads folder for example, where I can have files reside for months, I had many results missing files that should have shown up. KFind could find them. There is a way to go into the files properties dialog, permissions tab, advanced permissions, ok, ok to exit the properties dialog. The file will now get metadata updated, although nothing was done, this set of steps seems to trigger Baloo to index the file. The file will now show up in search results via Dolphin or KRunner. Not sure how to reproduce, if it's due to Baloo no longer actively indexing properly or ignoring files randomly, could be a bug in Baloo or something wrong with the system as the install had been running since Aug 2016. Reporting in case anyone else is affected, and that it was requested to make this a separate issue from a similar one I had with hidden files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[konsole] [Bug 392661] New: 'Erase whole display' CSI sequence (\033[2J) is incompatible with xterm/linux console
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392661 Bug ID: 392661 Summary: 'Erase whole display' CSI sequence (\033[2J) is incompatible with xterm/linux console Product: konsole Version: master Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: emulation Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org Reporter: m...@arccos-1.net Target Milestone: --- How it works in Konsole: All lines are shifted up until they disappear from the screen. They are available in the history. XTerm and Linux console: Everything visible on the screen is erased. Scrollback remains unchanged. VT102 User Guide says: "Erases complete display. All lines are erased and changed to single-width. Cursor does not move." (those requirements are met in both cases. Scrollback was not available there, so nobody specified what to do with it.) I think XTerm/Linux behavior is more appropriate here: * It literally erases the characters, not shifts them up. * Konsole by default sets 'TERM' to 'xterm-256color' * 'clear' entry from terminfo gives strange effect (saves current screen in history, but removes everything else from it). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 03/04/2018 at 00:11. Pushed by hindenburg into branch 'master'. Clip character drawing to its own cell Summary: To calculate string width, Konsole uses character cell widths. Rendering engine uses actual characters widths for this purpose. Those sizes are equal in fixed-width fonts, as long as the font has specific character. Since no font contains all Unicode characters, some of them are taken from different fonts and their sizes differ from their cell size. This can lead to different results depending on how text line is split into strings. It can be assumed that characters in Basic Latin block in every fixed-width font are really fixed-width, and can be rendered as one string. All other characters are rendered separately, and their rendering surface is limited to their cell. Before/After screenshots: {F5749612} Test Plan: Paste this: `⸻test` in konsole and highlight different parts of the string In a text editor paste this: ``` | A | | ⸻ | | ⟹ | | ⧠ | ``` and move cursor vertically through characters column Reviewers: #konsole, hindenburg Reviewed By: #konsole, hindenburg Subscribers: hindenburg, ngraham, #konsole Tags: #konsole Differential Revision: https://phabricator.kde.org/D11237 M +33 -28 src/TerminalDisplay.cpp https://commits.kde.org/konsole/a565bc97337a3bfc3a027f46aa2dec3e9a6f8618 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 362436] Dolphin crash copying from a SMB: NAS device
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362436 --- Comment #6 from charles dial--- The only additional information I can give you is that the problem involved a D-link dns-323 network storage device. This model is probably at least 10 years old and is no longer supported by D-Link. In general, both windows and Linux were able to access this NAS device, but there were sometimes long time outs when the computer was trying to find and connect to the device. It seems like there was a substantial wait, either for a thread to complete or for a thread which had completed and somehow or other was not recognized as a completed thread. It doesn't happy when I move the cursor with the mouse though. As soon as I move it away from the canvas or start using the mouse, the cursor moves like normal again. It also moves when I press down on the pen and the brush works like normal, though occasionally starts off by making a random straight line. After scanning the whole collection at once I realised it was not way to go. I cleared previous face tags and attempted to scan only a specific range of albums, all located in a specific root folder. After selecting this root folder for a limited scan, I got the whole (?) collection scaned again. I did it two times with the same unexpected result. Then I selected not only the root folder but also all of its children folders, and it finally worked as expected. I am using Digikam v5.9.0 on 64-Bit Windows 10. I've never experienced this issue before, and it may be related to the same Bug 392134 - SIGSEGV While Scanning Faces [patch] (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392134).
