it's crashing in KMessageWidget::isHideAnimationRunning(), which wouldn't have
been present until your patch added a KMessageWidget.

You can use the --query flag to get some metadata about each module. If you
built/installed kdesrc-build with docs then you should have a kdesrc-build.1
man page which you can add to MANPATH, the option is documented there (and I
think with the Docbook docs as well).

kde-svn@midna ~/kf5 $ kdesrc-build --query project-path kitinerary

2018-04-02 Thread Brennan Kinney
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392663

Bug ID: 392663

 Product: dolphin
 Version: 17.12.3
 Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: search
 Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
 Reporter: polarathene-sig...@hotmail.com
 Target Milestone: ---

This seems to be more of a Baloo issue rather than Dolphin I think. At least I
think Dolphin defaults to Baloo on a default install.

In the Downloads folder for example, where I can have files reside for months,
I had many results missing files that should have shown up. KFind could find
them. There is a way to go into the files properties dialog, permissions tab,
advanced permissions, ok, ok to exit the properties dialog. The file will now
get metadata updated, although nothing was done, this set of steps seems to
trigger Baloo to index the file. The file will now show up in search results
via Dolphin or KRunner.

Not sure how to reproduce, if it's due to Baloo no longer actively indexing
properly or ignoring files randomly, could be a bug in Baloo or something wrong
with the system as the install had been running since Aug 2016. Reporting in
case anyone else is affected, and that it was requested to make this a separate
issue from a similar one I had with hidden files.

Currently requires dropping to a CLI to perform via commands instead of
GUI(unless using another file manager as Dolphin is forbidden to run as root).

I would like to be able to easily adjust a file(s) owner or group via Dolphin
context menu "Properties -> Permissions Tab". In addition to that, prompting
when required for admin authorization instead of requiring Dolphin as root to
adjust root owner to the session user.

--

KAuth/KIO/PolKit support for supporting other actions that require root
priviledges has been WIP for some time and currently a high priority item. When
this is complete, I think adding support for other features requiring root as
the session user can be more easily implemented?

[konsole] [Bug 392661] New: 'Erase whole display' CSI sequence (\033[2J) is incompatible with xterm/linux console

2018-04-02 Thread Mariusz Glebocki
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392661

Bug ID: 392661
Summary: 'Erase whole display' CSI sequence (\033[2J) is
incompatible with xterm/linux console
 Product: konsole
 Version: master
 Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: emulation
 Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
 Reporter: m...@arccos-1.net
 Target Milestone: ---

How it works in Konsole:
All lines are shifted up until they disappear from the screen. They are
available in the history.

XTerm and Linux console:
Everything visible on the screen is erased. Scrollback remains unchanged.

VT102 User Guide says:
"Erases complete display. All lines are erased and changed to single-width.
Cursor does not move."
(those requirements are met in both cases. Scrollback was not available there,
so nobody specified what to do with it.)

I think XTerm/Linux behavior is more appropriate here:
* It literally erases the characters, not shifts them up.
* Konsole by default sets 'TERM' to 'xterm-256color'
* 'clear' entry from terminfo gives strange effect (saves current screen in
history, but removes everything else from it).

Git commit a565bc97337a3bfc3a027f46aa2dec3e9a6f8618 by Kurt Hindenburg, on
behalf of Mariusz Glebocki.
Committed on 03/04/2018 at 00:11.
Pushed by hindenburg into branch 'master'.

Clip character drawing to its own cell

Summary:
To calculate string width, Konsole uses character cell widths.
Rendering engine uses actual characters widths for this purpose.
Those sizes are equal in fixed-width fonts, as long as the font
has specific character. Since no font contains all Unicode characters,
some of them are taken from different fonts and their sizes differ
from their cell size. This can lead to different results depending
on how text line is split into strings.

It can be assumed that characters in Basic Latin block in every
fixed-width font are really fixed-width, and can be rendered as one
string. All other characters are rendered separately, and their
rendering surface is limited to their cell.

Before/After screenshots:
{F5749612}

Test Plan:
Paste this: `⸻test` in konsole and highlight different parts of the string

In a text editor paste this:
```
A
⸻
⟹
⧠
```
and move cursor vertically through characters column

[dolphin] [Bug 362436] Dolphin crash copying from a SMB: NAS device

2018-04-02 Thread charles dial
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362436

The only additional information I can give you is that the problem involved
a D-link dns-323 network storage device. This model is probably at least 10
years old and is no longer supported by D-Link. In general, both windows
and Linux were able to access this NAS device, but there were sometimes
long time outs when the computer was trying to find and connect to the
device.

It seems like there was a substantial wait, either for a thread to complete
or for a thread which had completed and somehow or other was not recognized
as a completed thread.

This issue may or may not still be an issue.

[plasmashell] [Bug 392659] New: Password entry on lock screen can not be confirmed with Return after a failed attempt

2018-04-02 Thread Glut
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392659

Bug ID: 392659
Summary: Password entry on lock screen can not be confirmed
with Return after a failed attempt
 Product: plasmashell
 Version: 5.12.4
 Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: general
 Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
 Reporter: glutbugrepo...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
 Target Milestone: 1.0

(I'm sorry if this is filed against the wrong product/component. I wasn't sure
what to choose for KDE's lock screen. I did see the kscreenlocker entry, but I
wasn't able to choose 5.12.4 for that)

## Description

The Return/Enter key will stop working on the lock screen for all subsequent
attempts after a failed password entry attempt.

## Steps to reproduce

1. Lock your screen
2. Enter an invalid password and confirm it with Return
3. wait for the confirmation message that it's the wrong password
3. Proceed to type in the correct password and try to confirm it with Return

Result: The Return key is ignored
Expected result: Return is accepted and you're logged in.

2018-04-02 Thread Nathan GDquest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389546

It makes sense! I got tricked by the fact the corner was completely painted and
this fill extends to the new document's bounds. Didn't expect the latter but
it's good to know. Problem solved :)

 Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: general
 Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
 Reporter: glutbugrepo...@gmail.com

## Description

When customizing the screen corner actions under system settings, searching for
a different settings entry will reliably cause systemsettings to crash.

## Steps to reproduce

1. Navigate to the screen corner settings pane
2. Search for any other settings menu, e.g. "Fonts". Perform a few searches if
the first one doesn't result in a crash.
3. Systemsettings will crash

[krita] [Bug 392657] New: Pen Cursor freezing in canvas with pen tablet

2018-04-02 Thread Elijah Taylor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392657

Bug ID: 392657
Summary: Pen Cursor freezing in canvas with pen tablet
 Product: krita
 Version: 4.0
 Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: tablet support

 Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 111791
 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=111791=edit
The DxDiag file for my computer info

The pen cursor freezes whenever I move it to the canvas area using the pen on
my tablet. It doesn't happy when I move the cursor with the mouse though. As
soon as I move it away from the canvas or start using the mouse, the cursor
moves like normal again. It also moves when I press down on the pen and the
brush works like normal, though occasionally starts off by making a random
straight line. I am using Windows 10 and a Parblo Island A610s tablet.

[digikam] [Bug 392656] New: Selecting a root album for face scan doesn't include subfolders, but rather scans an unexpected album set

2018-04-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392656

Bug ID: 392656
Summary: Selecting a root album for face scan doesn't include
subfolders, but rather scans an unexpected album set
 Product: digikam
 Version: 5.9.0
 Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: Faces-Maintenance
 Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
 Reporter: ozim...@lpsc.in2p3.fr
 Target Milestone: ---

I recently built a digikam db from my picture collection and straight away
started playing with face detection/recog. After scanning the whole collection
at once I realised it was not way to go. I cleared previous face tags and
attempted to scan only a specific range of albums, all located in a specific
root folder. After selecting this root folder for a limited scan, I got the
whole (?) collection scaned again. I did it two times with the same unexpected
result. Then I selected not only the root folder but also all of its children
folders, and it finally worked as expected.

Very much like Bug 269445 (?!).

[kdesrc-build] [Bug 392654] New: module not in module-group is still being built after being "skipped"

2018-04-02 Thread David Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392654

Bug ID: 392654
Summary: module not in module-group is still being built after
being "skipped"
 Product: kdesrc-build
 Version: Git
 Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: general
 Assignee: mp...@kde.org
 Reporter: fa...@kde.org
 Target Milestone: ---

Building kitinerary (build system KDE) from kde-pim (1/1)
No source update, but the last configure failed
Skipping kitinerary, this module was not in the containing module-set
at this branch
Source update complete for kitinerary: no files affected
Preparing build system for kitinerary.
Removing files in build directory for kitinerary
Old build system cleaned, starting new build system.
Running cmake...
Unable to configure kitinerary with CMake!
Unable to configure kitinerary with KDE

If it's skipping it, why is it trying to build it?
This obviously fails with
CMake Error: The source directory "/d/kde/src/5/kde/pim/kitinerary" does not
exist.

Testcase: branch-group stable-kf5-qt5, and kdesrc-build kitinerary (not that I
typed that of course, it just happened as part of a full kdesrc-build run.

Side question: now that kdesrc-build doesn't download a kde_projects.xml
anymore, where can I see in which part of the virtual tree of git modules, is a
git module like kitinerary? (I assume the actual fix for the above issue is to
add kitinerary to kde-build-metadata, but for that I need to know if it's in
playground, frameworks, kde/pim or whatever).

Thanks!

Sending emails using SMTP stopped working by itself. Messages get stuck in
outbox and automated repeated attempts to send them end with message:

Failed to transport message. Network unreachable

I'm using unenctypted connection to smtp.seznam.cz port 25, PLAIN
authentication. This configuration used to work until recently and is still
listed in server's help as a viable configuration.

Receiving emails works OK just like in:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330849

Since kmail doesn't seem to provide any additional debug logs I tried to use
Akonadi console but couldn't figure out how to get anything useful out of it
either.

2018-04-02 Thread Shaya
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392651

Bug ID: 392651
Summary: Digikam crashes when Face scanning reaches 29%
 Product: digikam
 Version: 5.9.0
 Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal

Component: Database-Faces
 Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
 Reporter: shayak...@gmail.com
 Target Milestone: ---

Forgive me, I'm not very technical, so I apologize if this is the wrong place
to post this. I am using Digikam v5.9.0 on 64-Bit Windows 10. I've never
experienced this issue before, and it may be related to the same Bug 392134 -
SIGSEGV While Scanning Faces [patch]

Whenever I have Digikam scan for faces, it reaches about 29% and then just
crashes. I looked for the digikam crash logs and couldn't find any. I was only
able to find the Windows Event Viewer and this is what it resulted in:

Interestingly, the crash entry in the windows event log is consistently always
preceded by 2 "Information"-level entries with the source "dbupdate" with the

Found it, posting for future reference as this makes CTRL+L and CTRL+R work
again for me in konsole:

Open konsole -> Settings -> Manage Profiles -> Edit profile -> Environment:

[korganizer] [Bug 392649] New: "only this item" / google calender

2018-04-02 Thread davidblunkett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392649

Bug ID: 392649
Summary: "only this item" / google calender
 Product: korganizer
 Version: 5.5.3
 Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: recurrence
 Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
 Reporter: dav1dblunk...@hotmail.com
 Target Milestone: ---

If I change an item that has recurrence I get a dialog box that says, "the item
you are trying to change is a recurring item. should this changes be applied to
this single occurrence of to all items in the recurrence?" and four options:
"only this item":"no":"all occurrences":"cancel".

No matter what I choose no change takes place!

I can delete single occurrences (same options but works).

I can edit and make changes to using the edit modal dialog.

But moving or resizing items in the calender does nothing other than stick up
this menu...

I just discovered this is caused because I have TERM=xterm-256color in konsole,
if I do export TERM=xterm I don't get this behavior.

I haven't been able to find where does TERM get set to change it permanently.

Also, on yakuake built on KDE SC 4.x, TERM=xterm and it works correctly.

Application: krita (4.1.0-pre-alpha (git 7598fff))

Qt Version: 5.10.0
Frameworks Version: 5.44.0
Operating System: Linux 4.13.0-37-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.12

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

1. I took an animated file
2. Selected 'render animation'
3. selected 'video'(not both)

I did this because I've noticed that the last two ffmpeg log files I saw were
searching for frame.gif(or something like that) instead of frame.png. I am
trying to figure out if it was caused by the 'video' option as opossed to the
'both' option, or whether it is caused by the user trying to gif for the frames
rendering and getting caught in that.

Instead I got this crash...

[kwalletmanager] [Bug 333137] kwallet first run wizard shouldn't ask between gpg and blowfish

2018-04-02 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333137

Right; many user-friendly distros like Kubuntu set this up automatically. The
bug mostly affects people who use distros like Arch.

Fwiw, if using kwallet-pam, user isn't asked (it's setup automatically... to

This is a good example where we can apply the "powerful when needed" idea.
Maybe we offer the user to configure more advanced settings through the wizard
but allow the user to only do a couple of clicks and be up and running with the
wallet.

I agree with this, can we, at least, make it aligned with the title of the KCM?
It looks like the title is about 5-10 PX margin. Something similar for the
theme area would be good too. However, keep in mind that the more you stretch
the window, the margin will become wider because the elements in the window are
centered.

Not just empty lines or lines with spaces only. The whole text turns into a
long single paragraph.

[Original]
"Lorem ipsum

dolor sit amet,

consectetur

adipiscing elit."

[After I reopen the editor]
"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit."

[in bug 392471 I guess the result should look like-]
"Lorem ipsum
dolor sit amet,
consectetur
adipiscing elit."
