I saw that use in your manifest things like

The android:required part doesn't seem to be part of the uses-permission tag,
you probably want to have it in uses-feature. (and of course still keep the
uses-permission just without android:required).

See

[valgrind] [Bug 392855] New: valgrind reports 1 additional allocation and 1024 additional bytes allocated (again...)

2018-04-07 Thread David Rankin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392855

Bug ID: 392855
   Summary: valgrind reports 1 additional allocation and 1024
additional bytes allocated (again...)
   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.13.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: drankina...@suddenlinkmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Devs,

  This is an issue that appears to be a regression of a bug reported to Arch in
June 2016 and has stayed fixed, but now it back again. The arch bug is:

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/49681

Basically valgrind started reporting an additional allocation and an additional
1024 bytes of memory allocated (for just about every allocation). Within the
last couple of days (I suspect related to changes in gcc-glibc) it now reports
the correct number of allocations, but still reports at least 1024 additional
bytes, e.g.

#include
#include

int main (void) {

int *a = malloc (sizeof *a);
*a = 5;
printf ("a: %d\n", *a);
free (a);
}

valgrind reports:

valgrind ./bin/vgtest2
==15274== Memcheck, a memory error detector
==15274== Copyright (C) 2002-2017, and GNU GPL'd, by Julian Seward et al.
==15274== Using Valgrind-3.13.0 and LibVEX; rerun with -h for copyright info
==15274== Command: ./bin/vgtest2
==15274==
a: 5
==15274==
==15274== HEAP SUMMARY:
==15274== in use at exit: 0 bytes in 0 blocks
==15274== total heap usage: 1 allocs, 1 frees, 1,024 bytes allocated
==15274==
==15274== All heap blocks were freed -- no leaks are possible
==15274==
==15274== For counts of detected and suppressed errors, rerun with: -v
==15274== ERROR SUMMARY: 0 errors from 0 contexts (suppressed: 0 from 0)

So instead of correctly reporting 4-bytes, valgrind now reports 1024 bytes.
There appears to be a regression not properly handled by the exclusions.

I'm assuming that this may be due to the fact that the computer is re-drawing
the image with a specific pixel lookup? (Bilinear or bicubic?) However, the
performance drop would only make sense if the reference image was being moved
at such a size; I'm simply drawing on the canvas and it's choking performance.

HI Jack,

Thanks for replying.

I do not know why "make install" did not work either?

I have been compiling and installing a lot of various software lately and most
work just fine, including some related to this like "alkimia-7.0.1",
"kDiagram", etc...

The newer versions of KMyMoney 5 wanted newer packages for "aqbanking", but I
could not compile that because it wanted newer versions of "gwenhywfar" which
would not compile in my system. I have each these already installed only they
are slightly older versions. FYI: The GitHub for "aqbanking" did not have a
"config" whereas the GitHub DE does?

> From Comment 1: Have you checked Clay Weber's PPA:
>  https://launchpad.net/~claydoh

The Clay Weber PPA only has versions up to 4.8 which does work in Ubuntu Xenial
- Linux Mint 18.x.

This was in response to people in the Linux Mint forum wanting the newer
KMyMoney ver 5, and I am one of them.

Thanks everyone for your help. But, I will wait to see if someone will kindly
provide compiled binaries for Ubuntu 16.04 (Linux Mint 18.x or perhaps even a
wonderful AppImage option, or Flak, or Snap, etc... I prefer to install it or
use an AppImage.

Best regards to all of you.

behalf of Mariusz Glebocki.
Committed on 08/04/2018 at 00:47.
Pushed by hindenburg into branch 'Applications/18.04'.

Do not resize new screen lines

Summary:
The lines are resized when something is put in them. Resizing them
here filled them with spaces (default value), later those trailing
spaces were put into history, and eventually into saved output or
clipboard (because it is assumed lines in history do not contain
trailing spaces).

Test Plan:
* Enable "Trim trailing spaces" in Profile Settings → Mouse
* Set window size to about 100x100px
* Clear terminal (Ctrl-Shift-K by default)
* Run:
```
seq $(( $(tput lines) * 2 )); \
printf '*** resize ***'; read -s; printf '\n'; \
seq $(( $(tput lines) * 2 ))
```
* When "resize" show up, resize the window to about 500x500px
* Press enter
* Select and copy lines below `*** resize ***`
* Paste it in a text editor which allows to show trailing spaces

Expected result: lines should not contain trailing spaces
Actual result: lines added when resizing the window have trailing spaces

@Dario: Thanks for the update. Good to hear you're no longer having the
problem. This also confirms my assumption that the problem is/was somewhere
during the print processing.

@Germano: Thanks for the additional info. That new 'error_log' does actually
contain the required information and I think I can somewhat reproduce the issue
in a Fedora 27 VM now. (not using a real printer and just running part of the
CUPS filters and using an external tool to view the generated file, but the
result looks like it should be what you described).

Can you confirm that attachment 111896 resembles the output you get on your
real printer?

Can you please try to delete or temporarily rename those, print again and see
whether this resolves the issue?

In case the thing I can reproduce is actually representative for your problem
as well, the problem is related to the print options that are passed to CUPS in
your setup. I cannot reproduce with the options that are passed when I print
the document to my dummy printer in my Fedora VM.

Sorry if my instructions were not clear enough. This command would have to be
run from a directory where attachment 111855 was downloaded and extracted (I
guess you put the original file into a tar.gz archive and it was not like that
in the '/var/spool/cups/' directory).
Anyway, in case removing the two 'lpoptions' files resolves your problem, that
test is no longer needed in my eyes.

Technically they are different functions, but I agree with you that the screen

Looks like the SDDM breeze theme uses the "system-search" icon, while the
kscreenlocker breeze theme uses "system-switch-user". This change would need to
be made in plasma-workspace, in the SDDM breeze theme

Bugzilla isn't the place for stuff like this (it isn't a bug, it's simply
queries on how best to build kmymoney). I suggest kmymoney mailing list or
irc, both referenced here:

http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/mailinglist.html

As for your last unfortunate failure, again, not a kde issue... your compiler
crashed:

compiler error: Segmentation fault

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Created attachment 111894
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=111894=edit
2 pane Split View side-by-side manual scroll required

Kate is missing a simple Split View side-by-side Sync Scroll by line number.

There should be an option somewhere to force Sync Scroll by line number.

If possible also Sync cursor position, else its OK.
If possible also bi-directional, else its OK.

Simply force one to follow the other by line number,
does not matter which kind of files are open.

Example use case: Writing Cython PXD file (see screenshot),
also useful for other transpilers, coffee, stub files, etc.

>From Comment 3: As I understand, AUR is for ArchLinux. I don't know if there
is any reasonable way to use it for Mint.

>From Comment 2: Did a simple "make" complete without error. If so, I don't
know why "make install" would still be compiling anything. Anyway - "internal
compiler error: Segmentation fault" does not sound like a simple compilation
error. Does repeating the make fail in the same place consistently? If not, I
would suspect a problem with RAM and run a memtest. If the failure is
repeatable, let us know and we'll look deeper.

Hi Phil,

I had a few issues with compiling and installing KMM 5. Then I simply went to
AUR repository and searched for KMM. I found kmymoney-git and installed it.
It worked like a breeze from an install standpoint and now I'm running 5.0.2.
Hope this helps. I've only been on Linux since January of this year and I
don't really understand the risks of doing it this way but it worked for me.

You may have some translated entries in user-places.xbel which are being

Hi Rex Dieter,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I had to download, compile, and install "alkimia-7.0", I used the newest one
"alkimia-7.0.1". It did compile and install. Thank you.

I still got the same error with KMyMoney ver5.0.1, but version 5.0.0 got
further. It now wanted the "KChart" from "Kdiagram" packages which is not
available in my Linux Mint KDE 18.3 system's repositories with the Kubuntu
backports ppa. So I went to that Kdiagram GitHub website, downloaded that,
compiled and installed that too. This seemed to work and finished builiding
with some comments below, but "sudo make install" failed.

xfce session on debian - although this must be some system setup thingy - does
not come from kolourpaint itself.

[kdenlive] [Bug 385780] Speed Effect is not saved after editing

2018-04-07 Thread Marcus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385780

--- Comment #9 from Marcus  ---
I could go ahead and try testing the new version.

1. I found on the website the page for the new beta version:
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/unstable/kdenlive-18.04-beta2.AppImage.mirrorlist

Is that the version you mentioned ?

2. I use gentoo, and there is a kde overlay which provides a Version
kdenlive-18.04.49. , see  http://gpo.zugaina.org/kde-apps/kdenlive

Does this version contain the branch ? If not is it another version on any
branch I could install with portage ?

3. If not - where can I read what to do with these AppImage files ?

[rkward] [Bug 380580] Speed up assignments in globalenv()

--- Comment #4 from Thomas Friedrichsmeier

Git commit 92d979a868706ac5b17226a5a939c96559fce09e by Thomas Friedrichsmeier.
Committed on 07/04/2018 at 19:57.
Pushed by tfry into branch 'work/faster_watch'.

Make object modification detection faster (step 1).

This first step avoids get and assign calls. Results in ~30% less time taken on
a simple testcase:
  system.time(for (i in 1:10) x <- i)
(with x and i being watched symbols).

TODO: Adjust code for "unwatching".
Next step will be to avoid the .Call().

Hello,
We are sorry but we now that with the current code, our handling of speed
changes is terrible and causes many problems.
This is one of the reasons why JB as started the refactoring_timeline branch
more than 1 year ago!
This branch is now quite useable (still things missing here and there), you are
welcome to test it on small projects. Either building from source, or
downloading the beta AppImage.
Thanks!

Hello,
I just got merged a simple fix in MLT for the rotoscoping effect.
To get the fix, you should either build MLT from source, or wait for next
AppImage (hopefully soon for 18.04 release).
Thanks for the report!

[dolphin] [Bug 392822] Places panel entries are untranslated

2018-04-07 Thread Julian Schraner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392822

--- Comment #3 from Julian Schraner  ---
I am not able tor reproduce this bug with Dolphin 17.12.3 or Dolphin 18.07.70
(master). But then I also cannot see any commit which would have changed
anything regarding this panel between 18.04 and master:
https://phabricator.kde.org/source/dolphin/compare/?head=master=Applications%2F18.04

I don't really know what could cause this bug, but we should surely try to
triage it soon-ish because 18.04 is just around the corner.

It places the image at ~/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet/plasma_engine_potd/apod by
default - where it gets picked up by the lockscreen, if it is still set to the

[plasmashell] [Bug 375951] locally integrated menus

2018-04-07 Thread Chris Holland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375951

--- Comment #8 from Chris Holland  ---
Figured I'd poke at the code to see how this works.

The application menu button currently only has a single bool property that's
exposed to the Breeze KDecoration via KWin's AbstractClient. This lets breeze
draw the button, then signal kwin to open a "context menu" below the button.
Right now, it's opening the "root" of the menu. In theory we could open a
specific submenu (eg: File) if we know the index.

Essentially, the KDecoration needs to know the top level menu items. Their
index + text label. We probably also have to consider the top level Alt+___
shortcuts too in the future.

Should show button?

* https://github.com/KDE/breeze/blob/master/kdecoration/breezebutton.cpp#L326
* https://github.com/KDE/kdecoration/blob/master/src/decorationbutton.cpp#L84
* https://github.com/KDE/kdecoration/blob/master/src/decoratedclient.cpp#L72
* https://github.com/KDE/kwin/blob/master/abstract_client.cpp#L1691

On button click

* https://github.com/KDE/breeze/blob/master/kdecoration/breezebutton.cpp#L326
* https://github.com/KDE/kdecoration/blob/master/src/decorationbutton.cpp#L88
* https://github.com/KDE/kdecoration/blob/master/src/decoration.cpp#L198
* https://github.com/KDE/kwin/blob/master/decorations/decoratedclient.cpp#L221
* https://github.com/KDE/kwin/blob/master/useractions.cpp#L1690
* https://github.com/KDE/kwin/blob/master/appmenu.cpp#L113

at least 3 repos need to be patched for this it seems.

The appmenu widget should be a good reference for parsing the top level menu
items.

* https://github.com/KDE/plasma-workspace/tree/master/applets/appmenu/plugin

I wonder if the breeze kdecoration could connect directly to the appmenu qdbus
interface without modifying the kwin or kdecoration repos. That way it could
read the top level labels and draw "buttons" itself. Would be easier to get
started/test. Could even use SierraBreeze as a testbed since the repo is just
the kdecoration.

Strictly the fix is the same. A crashing kactivitiesmanagerd will no longer
crash plasmashell.

Remaining issue: kactivitiesmanagerd is still (sometimes?) crashing (or
otherwise failing to start properly) when db is storged on nfs :(

I agree. This of course happens because flatpak updates don't require a sudo
password, but users shouldn't need to think like that IMO.

[kmymoney] [Bug 392839] New: Cannot install or compile any kmymoney version 5

2018-04-07 Thread Phil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392839

Bug ID: 392839
   Summary: Cannot install or compile any kmymoney version 5
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.0.1
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Hello KMyMoney developers,

Try as I have, I cannot locate KMyMoney version 5 to install into my Linux Mint
18.x system based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial. I tried compiling versions 5.0.0 and
5.0.1, and they would not compile? Are there any available installation
options, like an "AppImage", an up to date PPA, or Linux Deb files, etc... to
install this?

My last compiling effort of KMyMoney ver 5.0.0 resulted in", same results in
ver 5.0.1, in my Linux Mint KDE 18.3 based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial.

I do not think this is a duplicate of 387979:

1. If I mount the same NFS share as /home on a Kubuntu 17.10 machine all is
well, so the database isn't corrupt.

2. deleting ~/.local/share/kactivitymanagerd/ doesn't help like it did for
387979

Issue example

Please take a look on the attached print screen.
  I, placed the cursor over "Jump to Declaration" in order to press on it.
But because before to arrive to "Jump to Declaration" line, I crossed over
"Clipboard History" line, the submenu of "Clipboard History" was launched. So,
I arrived with the mouse cursor over "Jump to Declaration" line in order to
press on it, but even the mouse cursor was placed over the "Jump to
Declaration" line, the selected menu is "Clipboard History" -> $matrix line,
which is not correct, and when I pressed on the mouse button, the "Clipboard
History" -> $matrix menu was launched, which is wrong.

 Thanks a lot!

[plasmashell] [Bug 392834] New: [wayland] - Moving applets under wayland is very slow

2018-04-07 Thread Michail Vourlakos

Bug ID: 392834
   Summary: [wayland] - Moving applets under wayland is very slow
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.12.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Trying to move applets in the panel under wayland is very slow compared to X11.
It happens also with Latte and I tracked it down to the tooltip shown (with
applet settings button and remove applet button) when the user hovers an
applet.

So I suppose it can be kwin related but I would like first a confirmation from
plasma devs also

Not seem that before

Can you:

1) upload your ~/.config/kwinrc

2) run "kquitapp5 plasmashell; plasmashell"

3) include version numbers for Qt and frameworks (see kinfocenter)

and include the output when you cause this issue

[kdevelop] [Bug 392833] New: Rename function doesn't work

2018-04-07 Thread Silviu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392833

Bug ID: 392833
   Summary: Rename function doesn't work
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.2.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language Support: PHP
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: laurentiusil...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Let's consider that there is a function named: Function_name
   Press mouse right click on the name of the function and go to 'Rename
"function name"...' menu.
   In my case, the Rename window in launched, but the function can't be found.

   This seems to happen because the name of the function start with upper case
letter. If the function name will be changed to "function_name", then
everything works, but it doesn't work if an upper case letter is in the name of
the function, for example: "function_Name".

   This problem could be because the Rename action, when it is launched, it
convert all upper case letters from function name to lower case letters, when
it is launched. I saw this in the Rename window, at "New name" input field,
when the name of the function is converted to lower case letters

   Thanks a lot!
