At this point, you should upgrade to Ubuntu 18.04, which will be released in
two days.

Meanwhile, I'm closing this crash in unmaintained/unsupported KF4 software. If
anyone can still reproduce using recent KF5 versions of KIO and Dolphin, please
file a new bug.

Do you really used the binary you compiled or do you maybe still use the
executable that was previously installed? I attached a small video showing the
current behavior in LabPlot. Can you please check once more on your side?

That's ridiculously dangerous, and if we did this, you or others *will*
accidentally overwrite files you don't mean to because you'll forget that you
gave Dolphin permission to auto-overwrite. Sorry, I don't believe we should do
this.

Video showcasing bug

Creating a split screen video and using pan and zoom to resize each clip to fit
within the video resolution together, the clip on the left renders fine,
however the second clip blanks out the entire right side of the video, leaving
a large black space. It ruins the video and makes kdenlive unusable for
creating split video such as this.

these already exist? Darker/Lighter is on K and L by default, the rest needs
hotkeys configured for them in settings->configure Krita->shortcuts, and the
strength can be configured in settings->configure Krita->color selector
setting->hotkey

And if if they don't do what you want, you can create actions with python that
do do what you want quite easily.

Either one; it doesn't matter from the perspective of this bug. As you can see
the upstream bug (https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-49646) is still open.
The there are two avenues of attack:
1. Fix the upstream bug and get the kerning for both rendering types improved
2. Universally switch to the QtRendering style throughout plasmashell until #1
is completed (I doubt this would be done since as described above, the issue
may be a bit better with QtRendering, but it's not actually resolved)

[kgpg] [Bug 393474] New: kgpg is unable to set trust level to ultimate on imported secret keys

2018-04-24 Thread Adam Schaefers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393474

Bug ID: 393474
Summary: kgpg is unable to set trust level to ultimate on
imported secret keys
   Product: kgpg
   Version: 17.12.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@opensource.sf-tec.de
  Reporter: s...@efers.org
  Target Milestone: ---

originally reported https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-5000

Tested on two nearly identical funtoo / kde-kit/5.12 machines, tried also with
wallet subsystem both enabled and disabled, it made no difference.

To reproduce:
1. import secret key via kgpg
2. double click on the newly imported key, set the trusted level to ultimate
and click apply or ok.
3. the program will hang and use high cpu until kde crashes if you don't kill
the process.

Workaround kgpg limitation:
The command line still works!

gpg --import private.key

Given the KEYID (e.g FA0339620046E260) from the output:

gpg --edit-key
{KEY}

trust quit

enter 5
enter y

[kmail2] [Bug 393473] New: Weird "HTML-message" column

2018-04-24 Thread Matthijs Tijink
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393473

Bug ID: 393473
   Summary: Weird "HTML-message" column
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthijstij...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Since the latest KMail version, I have this weird full-height black vertical
column in KMail saying "HTML-message" (or similar, mine is in Dutch).

Hovering it says something like "click to switch between HTML, plain email or
calendar", and it has a hover-cursor. Clicking it doesn't do anything, however.

I also couldn't find a setting to disable it. Is it possible to remove? I
already use a toolbar button for switching between HTML and plain email (like
it seems this is intended for?), which also makes a lot more sense to me than
something you cannot move/remove and takes up lots of space.

Dolphin 18.04 is still leaking memory during jpg thumbs generation.
I have just tested on Arch Linux.

open ksysguard to observe ram usage and enable "always on top" for its window
open a folder containing thousands of jpg files (my test folder has 2140 files)
click "preview" button in toolbar to enable thumbnails
while thumbs are generated, scrolls the folder content slowly and observe
dolphin ram usage increasing in ksysguard

[kmymoney] [Bug 393169] Cannot Print, printer wakes up but gives error message

Popup Message

I've noticed that after I close the kmymoney application, a message pops up at
random times on my screen for a couple of seconds. After I reboot the computer
the message stops appearing until I launch and then close kmymoney again. I
finally managed to get a screenshot of it. I didn't know if it might be
associated with the printing issue or not. Thought I would pass it along.

The bug is still present in Kontact 5.7.3 and has now been present for more
than five years now!

Is Kontact still actively developed?

[kwin] [Bug 371199] Dragging windows on my left screen causes them to jump down to the bottom

2018-04-24 Thread Cristiano Guadagnino
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371199

Martin, how can you say the issue is solved if there's a program that shows the
same behavior with the exact same cause?
The only difference here is that Yakuake cannot be dragged from one monitor to
the other, due to the way Yakuake is shown on the screen, but it remains a fact
that when Yakuake tries to appear on the second screen it's position is not
what it should be resulting in an invisible window.
I am refraining from reopening the bug, for now. Should I open a new bug for
this? It seems weird and counterproductive to me, because the main cause of the
buggy behavior is the same so reading it in context would give a jump-start to
anyone trying to fix the bug.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 390824] baloo_file crashes randomly

I'm experiencing the same problem (crashes after some time):

Application: baloo_file (5.44.0)

Qt Version: 5.9.5
Frameworks Version: 5.44.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-19-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch)

After the crash, the only way to use baloo again is to disable it and enable it
again, so that the index is recreated.
