[konsole] [Bug 393644] Regression: Bi-Directional rendering doesn't work after this commit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393644 Mariusz Glebockichanged: What|Removed |Added CC||m...@arccos-1.net --- Comment #1 from Mariusz Glebocki --- I guess right to left mark (and other marks) is separated from rest of the text, so the rendering engine does not use it for the text. I'll look into the code later. (In reply to Sassan Haradji from comment #0) > I wonder why we've added this condition. [kscreenlocker] [Bug 336369] Lock screen: suspend option is missing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336369 Simone Gaiarinchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||simg...@gmail.com --- Comment #17 from Simone Gaiarin --- I am also in favour of having a button on the lockscreen to suspend. Suspending by closing the lid is not enough. For example I configured the action of the laptop lid to do nothing, because I want to close it without suspending when my laptop is docked and connected to a monitor. In this case the lock screen would be shown in the second monitor, and opening and closing the lid would not suspend the laptop. Moreover I have configured the power button to lock the screen, given that I do it often. So my only option is to type the password to unlock and suspend, which is very annoying. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 393539] Wishlist: Option to save rotation information (pixel, EXIF-flag) to the file always, instead of sidecar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393539 Christianchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED --- Comment #6 from Christian --- Dear Maik! Thanks. I'm using RAW files - maybe that's why the options seemed so confusing. I change the status of this bug back to "duplicate of 366391". I think I need to read up more about metadata storage and the purpose of sidecars. What I wanted to do is, always store information in the file if that changes the rotation of the picture, and store everything else in a sidecar, regardless of what the image file type is. My idea was that, this way, I can avoid "unnecessary" changes to the image file and save them in a sidecar file instead (because the backup program I use backs up the whole image file again if it has changed). But I use the images also as wallpapers, and KDE plasma programs (wallpaper desktop, also Gwenview I think) ignores the sidecars. So then the pictures aren't shown in the correct rotation outside digikam. I suppose that, if I only need digikam, I would select to save metadata only in the digikam database, except for rotation which I want in the file. Alternatively, any exchange format would work as long as it is supported by KDE apps. Maybe baloo would be a better choice for me instead of sidecar files? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 366391 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kscreenlocker] [Bug 343688] Show desktop notifications on lock screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343688 --- Comment #7 from Buck Shockley--- I'd also like to see this implemented into KDE, bringing a feature from other OSes and some DEs to Plasma. Due to security concerns, we can make this toggleable or just show the applications that sent notifications instead of the full detail, i.e. "3 Notifications from Thunderbird" "5 Notifications from Discord" "24 Updates Available" etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Powerdevil] [Bug 392798] Power button actions should be handled from lock screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392798 Brennan Kinneychanged: What|Removed |Added CC||polarathene-signup@hotmail. ||com --- Comment #8 from Brennan Kinney --- Can System Settings for the lockscreen not have a UI toggle for soft buttons to allow shutdown/suspend/hibernate? Sometimes I've suspended the machine only to find it wake up again shortly after, I have to manually type out the password again just to attempt a suspend once more. It'd be nice if the user has allowed the lockscreen to display power button UI, that you could then do such actions via lockscreen without requiring an unlock. My machine isn't a laptop and it's power button isn't that accessible. Suspend shouldn't cause any harm/risk to running processes and the like? If such a setting were off by default it shouldn't cause any harm/risk to other users that is mentioned for avoiding it? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 393663] mouse events and menus should be triggered on mouse-up to give user a chance to cancel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393663 --- Comment #1 from myusualnickn...@gmail.com--- about 2 out of 5 times people who click while the mouse is moving didn't mean to do the click. For users with mobility problems, it is extra important to make sure that they actually mean to do the click.. so they may struggle a bit to actually trigger the event, but doing the false event is much worse... better to make them give confirmed good input than start opening a program that will take 10 minutes to load... Also note, the people with mobility problems also often don't have enough money to buy a good computer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 393663] New: mouse events and menus should be triggered on mouse-up to give user a chance to cancel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393663 Bug ID: 393663 Summary: mouse events and menus should be triggered on mouse-up to give user a chance to cancel Product: kwin Version: 5.12.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: input Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: myusualnickn...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- It is very easy to misclick. If I want to cancel something, on windows I can just press the other mouse button and cancel the mouse event. In Kubuntu 18.04 we are noticing that it is very easy to right-click and then accidentally click on a menu item on the menu without even noticing that the item was selected. This would be solved by triggering the monu open on mouse-up. This would make it consistent with other systems that had usability studies and presents expected behavior.. KDE currently does not exhibit expected behavior, and it is actually dangerous because unintended input is caused. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This is like there for a reason: what Kaffeine locks when a record is happening is the transponder, not the channel. In other words, if you have multiple channels at the same transponder, you can be recording one channel while watching another one, even with just one card. You may, at any moment, record the channel you're watching too, having multiple channels being recorded at the same time, one via instant record and another one via "normal" record. Also, one may want to use instant record just to record a particularly interesting part of the content on a separate file. Granted, some extra logic could be added there to block recording a channel that it is being recorded already, but that would require some work, IMHO with very little benefit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393274 Albert Vacachanged: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from Albert Vaca --- Checking the crash reports on the Play Store, I found a ClassCastException on the following cast in AlbumArtCache.java: connection = (HttpURLConnection) currentUrl.openConnection(); This crash is actually quite common, with 300 crashes in the past 7 days. I'm not sure what's the cause though. The only other subclass of URLConnection that can come from openConnection() is JarUrlConnection: https://developer.android.com/reference/java/net/URLConnection But I don't think we can get a JarUrlConnection there. I was trying to reproduce the crash to see what kind of URLConnection we are getting there, but it doesn't seem to crash on me. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392798 Mayeul Cantanchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||mayeul.can...@live.fr --- Comment #7 from Mayeul Cantan --- To be fair, I often just change TTY and press the suspend button there. It should also work with the power button to poweroff the computer (or ctrl-alt-del), so some points here are rather moot. Showing a confirmation UI (maybe with a timer) would probably be a better solution. Ideally, the screen locker could know what kind of activity there is in the background (KTorrent downloading, disk copy, compilation) and show a message that some actions could be interrupted, but that might be just me overthinking this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kaffeine] [Bug 393650] New: On scheduled recording, user can inadvertently initiate a second recording on the same channel.

Product: kaffeine Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mchehab+sams...@kernel.org Reporter: romeokni...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Kaffeine 2.0.14 When a scheduled recording is running, the user can initiate another recording on the same channel using the menu item 'Instant recording' (or by defined key "R"), so that 2 identical streams are written parallel to disk at the same time. With a wayland session the monitor says there is no signal once it is turned back on. I can switch to a virtual terminal (C-A-Fx) and doing so brings the monitor to life. Trying to switch back to wayland (C-A-F1) drops the signal again. [kaffeine] [Bug 393647] New: Screen turns black when scheduled recording starts (single dvb-card)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393647 Bug ID: 393647 Summary: Screen turns black when scheduled recording starts (single dvb-card) Product: kaffeine Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mchehab+sams...@kernel.org Reporter: romeokni...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Kaffeine 2.0.14 The following bug may NOT happen if there is more than 1 dvb card installed. Steps to comprehend the behaviour: -Start Kaffeine and program a scheduled recording on channel "B". -Now go and watch live-tv on channel "A" (on a different transponder) -When the scheduled recording begins, Kaffeine turns channel "A" black, giving the following message: 'no available device found'. In fact Kaffeine internally switched to the scheduled channel "B" and records it (writing data to disk). You can "follow" the scheduled recording by hand, switching to channel "B" manually. (So you can have a picture again). Suggestion: when a scheduled recording starts (and only 1 dvb card is installed) don't turn the screen black and give error "no available device found", instead tune to the recording channel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393539 --- Comment #4 from Maik Qualmann--- I think that I understand your wish correctly, although English is not my language. Information is always stored in the database. The 8 options of the metadata tab and the rotation tab determine whether the information is also written in the image and / or sidecar. The sidecar combo box decides if activated: 1. Sidecar only for read-only files-> RAW or read-only images in sidecar, otherwise in the image 2. Always in sidecar-> ONLY in sidecar, never in the image. 3. sidecar and image-> always sidecar and if possible also in the image What files are you use, JPEG?
