We just released v2.7.0 and I checked the Job progress bar and controls work as
expected under Gnome. I don't have a VM with Xfce to confirm.

I encourage you to upgrade to v2.7 at your earliest convenience and check.
Please also check under a new user - there is a possibility that some old
settings of yours interfere with the Job toolbar. Thanks!

[krita] [Bug 394117] Transparency masks of Group Layers are not applied when converting to OpenRaster

2018-05-13 Thread Alex Gleason
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394117

I've attached two images to illustrate the point. The first, waterbaby.kra.jpg
is a KRA file I have with lots of transparency masks on layer groups. Looks
great.

The second, waterbaby.ora.jpg, is what happens when I convert the file to ORA
format. I use a lot of full-color layers and then mask them to the shape I want
then add highlights/shading.

I can send the actual source files if you'd like but they are 100MB+

Hi Boudewijn,

As it stands, converting the image to ORA does cause data to be destroyed. It
destroys the layer mask, which can cause the image output to be completely
wrong. The current behavior for Krita is to apply the layer mask when exporting
to ORA. This works on individual layers, but not layer groups, which is where
the bug lies.

[valgrind] [Bug 394227] New: [x86] False negative "uninitialised value" report due to not recognizing simd registers clear by pcmp*

2018-05-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 394227
Summary: [x86] False negative "uninitialised value" report due
to not recognizing simd registers clear by pcmp*
   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.12.0
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: memcheck
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: myocyt...@sina.com
  Target Milestone: ---

It is common to generate constants in simd registers.
It typically begins by clearing the simd register to all-one, by pcmp* family.
For example:
pcmpeqw xmm0, xmm0

However, valgrind 3.12 (Ubuntu x64) fails to recognize this combination and
populates uninitialized values around.
(Changing it to load or load+shuffle will suppress the warning)

Sorry but i disagree with you. I have NO PROBLEMS using Desktop Grid [ZERO
CRASHES], **unless** specifically the Fall Apart Desktop Effect is enabled.
When it is, DG & KWin crash 100% of the time i drag windows in DG. Conversely
when FA is disabled, DG & KWin crash 0% of the time i drag windows in DG. The
key here is Fall Apart.

By you marking my report as a duplicate, you lose this important information.
The other report focuses only on DG. My report gives you additional
information, which i would have thought was important.

By the way, since my original report i have changed my Workaround. I am again
using the latest KWin [ie, was 5.12.4 but is now 5.12.5], but i now leave FA
permanently disabled. This combination provides me with perfect DG behaviour...
though it is a pity that i have permanently lost the use of the nice FA effect.

[krita] [Bug 394187] Different color is shown on canvas when creating image with RGB float16/float32.

2018-05-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394187

--- Comment #1 from a246246_246-...@yahoo.co.jp ---
It looks this does not happened on Windows 7 (x64).

To reproduce this on Mac, create new document from menu and select Model
RGB/Alpha and Depth to 16/32-bit float. If you create other RGB model in
creating document and change it later to float in specific color selector tab
by checking 'Show Colorspace Selector' checkbox and select Depth to float
values, painted color is the same as selected one.

Yes, this happened using QT 5.9.4. Per your suggestion, I tried building

Thank you for your quick response and the help in this issue. It is working as
it should now.

LabPlot should provide to show the fit curve using the chosen start values
immediately. This way users see if their start values are sensible.

This feature is already available in other fit programs like MagicPlot.

This bug is a spin-off from bug 386800.

2018-05-13 Thread romeoK

I need to withdraw from my above statement. After doing more tests (with
hundred of freezes) and searching the web for another 10 hours, i have to agree
with Mauro, that when you have an nvidia card and using proprietary driver with
Kaffeine/libVLC, the only way to overcome the 'failed to idle DMA' error, is to
disable vdpau (until nvidia has fixed this problem). So i inserted the line
'export VDPAU_DRIVER=none' into /home/.profile , and have had no freezes and
errors until now.

[krita] [Bug 394188] .dmg file broken

Ok, I couldn’t run your suggestion, since I don’t have the developer’s tools,
but I d/l wget and installed it, flailed around for a few minutes and got it to
work. The resulting file created a working version of 4.0.3, so thank you very
much!

Before that, I tried not only Firefox but also Tor and Chrome browsers to d/l
with the same error as with Firefox, so something needs fixed somewhere.

But not me. Thanks again!

[kwin] [Bug 392376] Wayland socket buffer gets filled up and application terminates when GUI thread was blocked

2018-05-13 Thread Martin Kostolný
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392376

Thanks for investigating! And sorry for my late response. This is more an
informative update.

I've tried a few things recommended by Johan Helsing
(https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-66997).

1) Increasing max_dgram_qlen seemed not to help
2) Proposed temporary fix in qtwayland improved the situation but not entirely

Just for info: I'm sure the issue is happening on Weston as well.

I also agree it is application's responsibility to stay responsive. But I fear
even though all heavy lifting is done outside GUItar:) thread there may still
be situations when this use-case happens. For example I get crashes when I open
bigger text file in Kate.

It gets worse when CPU is already under load because of different hungry
processes - and in such situation if one performs GUI demanding tasks like
moving mouse up/down on Kate minimap, which constantly generates tooltip with
text preview, Kate crashes as well. But maybe that can also be fixed by the
proposed QtConcurrent::run & qfuturewatcher usage. I'm not sure.

Anyway it seems I'm the only Wayland user hit by this issue so we can probably
wait if somebody else will complain. I was merely trying to tell about this
issue before Plasma Wayland hits more audience :).

You may have come across Qt bug 65599. I found it in Qt version 5.10 but I
suspect it may affect some earlier versions. Not sure which Qt version you
have, looks like it might be 5.9 from what I have seen. KXStitch v2.1.0 has a
workaround for the Qt bug. Can you try that?

Thanks

I have the same issue on Plasma 5.12.5 with the Timer widget. The font size for
the timer when placed in a panel is always extremely small due to vertical
padding in the widget. It does not require a reboot as in the original bug
report.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add the timer widget to a panel. Font size is extremely small due to
padding.

Expected result:
The font of the timer should be readable and roughly fit the height of the
panel, like the Digital Clock widget.

[Spectacle] [Bug 394181] Exporting to Imgur: i) catch and ii) store the ephemeral one-time Imgur deletion Url in a local logfile

2018-05-13 Thread Tom
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394181

As an ad-hoc solution (w/o a log file):

instead of showing the resulting *.png image, you could

- show in the browser the landing page after image upload with the "Delete
post" button ; or

- extract the ephemeral deletion url from the uploaded landing page and
immediately show the deletion url close to the image.

This gives the Spectacle user at least _one_ chance to delete the image
immediately after uploading, just as if she has used imgur manually.

[Falkon] [Bug 394217] New: urls with percent-encoding in url/search bar interpreted as query instead of url

2018-05-13 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394217

Bug ID: 394217
Summary: urls with percent-encoding in url/search bar
interpreted as query instead of url
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: k...@equaeghe.nospammail.net
  Target Milestone: ---

[Falkon 3.0.0 using Qt 5.9.4 and KF 5.43.0.]

I was trying to go to a webpage from a url I copied from elsewhere. That url
contains percent-encoded characters (%20 for a space, to be exact). This
percent-encoded character causes the string to be interpreted as a query and
not as a url. It should interpret it as a url.

Testcase:

enter "www.example.com" and "www.example.com/%20"

[dolphin] [Bug 393652] Dolphin crashed after moving a file to Trash - from a network-mounted filesystem

2018-05-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393652

Occured for the second time today, and I can now reproduce the crash every
time. One step to reproduce was missing from my original report:

- After choosing 'Move to trash' for any file, close the open window.

This occurs only when Dolphin is in the process of moving the file to trash
(which takes a few seconds because the file is on Google Drive).

Again, the folder is mounted with google-drive-ocamlfuse.

Backtrace:

NB: same behaviour in Dolphin, suspected KIO bug
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/krusader-users/iZQJpT-n0eo

I have a website hosted at 000webhost.com, and when Krusader connects with FTP
to it, Krusader does not show the content listing.

I write ftp://fred...@files.000webhost.com:21 in the location box, and Krusader
asks for password. I enter password, and Krusader writes ">> Reading: Login OK"
in the status bar, and after a while the status bar says "0 out of 0, 0 B (0)
out of 0 B (0)", and a blue fiels over the location box says "No space
information on non-local filesystems"..

After the first time I have had connection to the FTP site, Krusader fails to
ask for password, it just logs in, even if I have had restarted Krusader.
Krusader writes ">> Reading: Login OK" in the status bar, and after a while the
status bar says "0 out of 0, 0 B (0) out of 0 B (0)", and a blue fiels over the
location box says "No space information on non-local filesystems".

Krusader works perfectly with e.g. ftp.sunet.se with anonymous login.

[LabPlot2] [Bug 386800] Custom fitting often fails

It looks like custom fitting in LabPlot now works. Supporting a preview of the
fitting curve using the start values is a new feature which currently is
breaking too many things (just before the release of 2.5). But i will put this
on the TODO list for the next release and hope to make it possible soon. Is it
ok to contact you when we think this new feature is working?

I can confirm that having password data in kwallet in structured plain text
format is very convenient. It allows searching passwords, websites, usernames,
etc. It is essential for cross-application portability.

Suggestion: change type from ‘normal’ to ‘wishlist’.

[digikam] [Bug 393974] Appimage version does not recognise Xiomi smartphone

2018-05-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393974

The same for 6.0.0 appimage beta and also for Samsung Android device.

OS recognizes the camera, but not DK.

On 5.5.0 (not appimage, but compiled Phil version from his ppa) both
smartphones works as expected (they are autodetected).

When I choose from Import menu the 'search for camera' option DK (or Gphoto)
finds it but under different name (as Samsung galaxy model (MPT)). I can
import from them but there is one drawback: the history of previously imported
files is gone and I cannot accept it because I keep pictures on my phone.

Maybe it is appimage fault not DK itself? My working DK is deb, but both 5.9
and 6.0 are appimage.

[digikam] [Bug 394214] New: Import .mp4 files does not preserve file mtime as date stamp

2018-05-13 Thread Jens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394214

Bug ID: 394214
Summary: Import .mp4 files does not preserve file mtime as date
stamp
   Product: digikam
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Import-Gphoto2
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jens-bugs.kde@spamfreemail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

1. import .mp4 file which Digikam can read

Expected: mp4 file should have a date stamp according to the file mtime
Actual: mp4 file has a date stamp of "now, today" (= time of import)

This makes it very hard to import movie files together with the image files
because the movies will be sorted at the end.

Strangely using the date string to create subfolders (in the import dialog)
works correctly - it is just the Digikam timestamp which is not saved.

Please have look. Thanks!

When in "print setup" I can't select an area. I select an element and when I
left click and hold mouse, nothing appears. If I go to default layout, I can't
change the size of the graph, again the left click and hold does nothing.

Otherwise, I love the changes, especially the fill polygon feature.

I'm running Fedora 27 and running KXStitch version 2.0.0

[krita] [Bug 394211] New: File Layers constantly can't find files

The image(s) I'm struggling with, CRABGINEERING.kra is the main one, and I'm
having trouble smoothly editing crab-tutorial.kra

So, I've made several file layers out of a base painting, an ocean scene, and
then referenced them across different paintings, like a single school composed
of smaller fish which are themselves also file layers, but every time I try to
save one of the middle file layers it can't find the smaller individual fish
images and asks for every single one of the references. Every time. It's really
obnoxious

It looks for a path in my Temp user folder, but they're all stored in the same
base folder with the main painting because multiple middle-man paintings use
them. Manually loading them works, but it's a bit frustrating, especially since
it asks me to manually load them every time and doesn't appear to save the path
it's been given.

I also am experiencing this issue on archlinux with krita 4.0.2-1 and qt5-base
5.10.1-8.

The tool appears to work just fine however the crash occurs using the tool
after the app has been open for a while.

Possibly related/unrelated the app crashes using the move tool after the app is
open for a while.

These are on 3.x and possible 2.x krita files.

So, [IntelliJ](https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/) and other JetBrains IDEs have
this feature where you can sort of search through all of the various functions
that the software itself has to offer, and it's really nice when you know what
you want but don't remember which of the 15 dropdown menus it happens to live
in. I think it would be really cool if krita had something similar.

Thanks!

I'd really like it if, on importing an image as a file layer (specifically
during click-and-drag, but maybe elsewhere if applicable) that the new layer
were named after the image. For example, if I'm adding an image named
"crab.png" to a larger image of sea creatures, I'd like the layer to be named
crab. It's just a little quality of life thing :)

green color is white

Actual Version: 18.04.1

I am not sure if this a user interface thing, a problem with the desktop
environment that I am using (gnome) or something else. But it started happening
within the last few days.

I create a new project.

I add a color clip, change it to another color (let us say: green).

The color clip appears in the project bin with a white preview.

I drag the clip to the video timeline and play through it, the project monitor
stays white.

I click on the clip monitor tab and hit play, the monitor window becomes green
(as in, it is white, first, then flips to green).

So something is happening with color and kdenlive.

Problem (which would be a new ticket, but I hope solving this issue will fix
the one that I am about to describe, but might still be related): When I play a
movie in the 'clip monitor' window, the background color is black. When I put
it in to the video timeline and play in the 'project monitor' tab, the
background is white. I am not above saying that it could be a user issue, but
it is odd that a color clip is not showing in the 'project monitor'.

Workstation (laptop) with mesa (nvidia disabled):
On the system with mesa i did run
export KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=1; kstart kwin_x11 --replace
and as for now no artefacts

I didn't reset theme/compositor on MESA (laptop) as it's my workstation that I
could not affort to get a downtime for last few weeks, next week i will upgrade
also my laptop and will try there too, but until new plasma doesn't have a fix
i assume it will be exactly the same

Workstation with nvidia only:

i did also use tripple for short period, no errors noticed, today upgraded
nvidia station to plasmashell 5.12.5 and running without tripple buffering,
time will tell

I saw the simple way to leave a PC working with Audacious (with "winamp" skin)
for a few days, audacious continuously scroll the track name from left to right
forcing refresh/render that triggers the bug, other app show the same problem
but at longer time (as they refresh less frequently)

Also maybe it happens when i have workstation locked, hard to tell.

-
AKA: tripple bufforing somehow helps
MESA: not done anything
NVIDIA: no change on theme/compositor reset
