[kwin] [Bug 394529] Configure Mouse buttons (Global Shortcuts should accept accept mouse clicks to trigger actions/keypresses/scripts)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394529 --- Comment #15 from sac --- >Why are you reopening this ticket? How would a global shortcut help an >application that expects mouse events >This will not be fixed in KWin, according to its developers. I think you're not getting the idea here. Forget about mouse events (no mouse events in this bug report). The suggestion of the developers was to adjust global shortcuts. Currently Global Shortcuts shows the following tooltip: "Click on the button, then enter the shortcut like you would in the program. Example for CTRL+A: hold the CTRL key and press A." Instead the tooltip should say: "Click on the button, then enter the shortcut like you would in the program on your keyboard or mouse. Example for CTRL+A: hold the CTRL key and press A. Example for righ mouse button: press the right mouse button. " In addition, the option to assign a shortcut to several actions would be great. (yes, I know, just changing a tooltip is only 5% of the work, but maybe this explains it better. BTW: there are keyboards with a button for a mouse context menu. So even a mouse context menu can be triggered, if there's an action for this KEYBOARD BUTTON. Again: no mouse events here, but I'm able to customize my mouse and am even able to call batch sripts or programs [that might trigger mouse events, ugh forget that]) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358124 Bzzz changed: What|Removed |Added CC||misc-kde...@wanhunglo.com --- Comment #3 from Bzzz --- Let's bring this back up and connect it to some older wishlist item... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291546 "Network monitor should (optionally) show only connected devices" was closed recently as it was filed for KDE4. This is still an, well, issue with KDE5, and I think it is connected to this bug. Due to my special snowflake WiFi card that needs attention after every sleep->wakeup cycle, the Network Monitor applet thingy hangs a lot. I need to click right on the applet, Configure Network Monitor, select the interface again (this is also bugged as sometimes it does not show up at first, then gets refreshed upon hitting Apply, and then works as expected), and then the monitor resets and does its thing. If we could do a periodic check which interface is available and up, there could be an automatic start/stop of newly active/inactive interfaces. This would also resolve this bug, which to me, sounds closely related. I'm using traditional horizontal panel layout, so I doubt this is a problem that is caused by the rotation of the entire panel. kf5-config --version Qt: 5.9.5 KDE Frameworks: 5.47.0 kf5-config: 1.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297445 Henrique Sant'Anna changed: What|Removed |Added CC||hsanta...@gmail.com Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|INVALID |--- Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #7 from Henrique Sant'Anna --- Plasma 5.13.2 and this bug is still annoying people and there is still being requested for a solution where, at least, users could chose the behavior: - If the minimized window will actually be sent to bottom of the stack (current plasma behavior); or - If the last minimized window will be at the top of the stack (Microsoft Windows behavior, Gnome, xfce). That way users can select "the last used window" even if it was just minimized. Another approach would be to offer another shortkey to change to the last used window. Microsoft Windows also have this feature, where you can use gesture on touchpad or touchscreen (slide from right border to inside) to do that. Android N also offers that feature by double tapping the multitask phone button. KDE Plasma System Settings already haves a robust Task Switcher configuration, but it really misses that option where a minimized window is kept in top of the stack, just like a regular window. [frameworks-kio] [Bug 339242] Incoherence's in KDE notifications
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339242 --- Comment #4 from Nate Graham --- The problem is that a YouTube video isn't a very good vehicle for reporting bugs. It's hard to collate all the issues discussed into a list of actionable work, and there's a lot of filler to sit through. Also, Bugzilla tickets need to be focused, i.e. one issue per ticket. Otherwise, if one of the issues reported therein gets fixed, you can't actually close the ticket--and if you do, the other ones get lost. So just saying, "hey, this video shows a guy complaining about some KDE thing, you should fix it!" doesn't really help much, I'm afraid. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting#Bug_reporting_involves_responsibility If you're experiencing any specific issues with notifications in Plasma 5, we would welcome new bug reports to individually track them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kio-extras] [Bug 40892] extended ACL support for 2.2.* enabled servers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40892 --- Comment #3 from Nate Graham --- Nobody objects to the feature; it's simply a matter of very limited development time for implementing it competing with 32 other Samba bugs, and approximately 25,000 other bugs of all sorts. :) Patches are greatly appreciated! FWIW, for now mounting the share locally is probably your best bet in general, since the KIOSlave has other issues (e.g. unavailable when using non-KDE software such as LibreOffice). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kio-extras] [Bug 40892] extended ACL support for 2.2.* enabled servers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40892 --- Comment #2 from Ferry --- Unfortunately this is still not implemented in 17.12.3 (Kubuntu Bionic). I'll try to make the case for this functionality: on a shared file server (obviously sharing with Windows users), just giving the group read/write permissions is not always enough (for instance to change the owner of a file). The situation can be resolved using ACL's as that translates nicely to windows permissions. As ACL's can be made to inherit (on file/dir creation) all new files under a shared directory can have their correct ACL's set. Of course if a sub directory is created without setting ACL's (by moving from another place without ACL's) these wrong settings also inherit. So it would be very nice to be able to correctly view and set them from within Dolphin. Currently we work around this by mounting the server using smb4k so we don't need to use the kio slave. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[ksmtp] [Bug 395279] Can no longer send email via smtp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395279 --- Comment #9 from Daniel Vrátil --- Allen, Laurent, can you guys double-check that you have STARTTLS selected in your outgoing account settings? Maybe even try to create a new transport that's configured for STARTTLS? It looks like KSMTP is trying to open an encrypted communication despite being configured for STARTTLS (and then complains it does not understand the unencrypted response coming from the server). It seems to work for me here - I can't login anymore of course, but I actually get "Password refused" error from the SMTP server, which means the encrypted communication is established correctly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Falkon] [Bug 386409] Add option to middle click in empty area of tab bar to reopen closed tab
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386409 Xavier Brochard changed: What|Removed |Added CC||xav...@alternatif.org --- Comment #3 from Xavier Brochard --- On Falkon 3.0.0, any middle-click on an opened tab will close it, a middle-click on an empty area will open a new tab, middle-clik on new tab button will open new tab and paste the buffered text as url (with http prefix). This is a bit confusing and lack consistency. Additionaly, a double left-click on an empty area will open a new tab and left-click on new tab buttons will open a new tab too. So the current middle-click behaviour on empty area is redundant. IMHO current middle-click options should be disabled first. [kde-cli-tools] [Bug 396018] New: Circular dependency after "Use platform detection from KWorkSpace in KCMShell" (896dd55)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396018 Bug ID: 396018 Summary: Circular dependency after "Use platform detection from KWorkSpace in KCMShell" (896dd55) Product: kde-cli-tools Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: aleix...@kde.org Reporter: m...@gnuservers.com.ar Target Milestone: --- Hi, Starting with "Use platform detection from KWorkSpace in KCMShell" (896dd55), kde-cli-tools builds depends on libkworkspace (which is part of plasma-workspace). On the other hand, plasma-workspace uses kde-cli-tools as a runtime dependency. This generates a circular dependency that when using strict version dependencies makes the package impossible to build. These strict version dependencies are necessary because components inside plasma tend to change without indicating the versions that they need. One possibility would be to copy the detectPlatform function into kde-cli-tools (it's only 22 lines, no interaction with the rest of the library). This has already been done in kded. Another possibility would be to move the detectPlatform function to libkf5plasma in plasma-frameworks, and update plasma-workspace, kded, kde-cli-tools, systemsettings, and powerdevil to use that exported function. [Falkon] [Bug 395805] Accents are not working in Falkon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395805 Xavier Brochard changed: What|Removed |Added CC||xav...@alternatif.org --- Comment #1 from Xavier Brochard --- Please be more precise : does it means that keys with printed accentuated letter (like é or ù) — direct accents_—, or keys with printed accents (like ^ or ~) that you press before a normal letter — composed accents — are not working or both ? I can confirm that composed accents upper vowels don't work on Facebook (it works with Firefox), while it work on consonants (like "~" + "n"). Direct accents work too. Typing accents with space shows briefly the accent after the sapcebar is pressed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
