[plasmashell] [Bug 396111] Activity doesn't update files shown on desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396111 --- Comment #3 from Eike Hein --- Sorry, I need some more information just to make absolutely sure. There's two ways to change the folder that Folder View shows when used as the desktop contaiment: 1) System Settings -> Applications -> Desktop path 2) "Configure Desktop" -> Location I think you used '2', right? Just to make sure (because the way directory updates happen differs between them). And then you copy a file to the folder you configured, and it doesn't show up. The most frequent reason this happens is: The system is using inotify to monitor folders for changes, but something else on the system is using inotify a lot, and hitting the system limit of too many inotify watches. You could find some debug hints here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13758877/how-do-i-find-out-what-inotify-watches-have-been-registered -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 384974] Dolphin crashes after failing to copy files to Android phone over mtp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384974 --- Comment #7 from Rafael --- (In reply to Julian Schraner from comment #6) I'm sorry, Julian. I didn't pretend that my comment were "aggresive". This thread is not the place to begin a discussion about my experiencie with KDE-Plasma, so I only treated to be honest in my experiencie. I'm a fan of KDE applications like Krusader, Kate, Kdenlive, Krita and even I donated as a way to thank developers their work. But you must understand that if base system in not working as it should do at 2018, I can't make use of Plasma desktop as it should be. That's to say (and this is only an example, I could you tell you more examples) if it's knew that MTP protocol is *not* working in Plasma (and anyone can check it), why Plasma continues this non working applications (or KIO slave) to be disposable for final users? The experience for a new user trying to make work something that simply doesn't work is really maddening. Open source world is sometimes obscure. In Gnome and derivatives MTP works like a charm. Why KDE MTP developers can't take that source code and learn of it or adapt it or simply abandon that project till it really works? It's only my opinion and I'm sure many people will be agree, of course, but I took Linux with KDE as a professional platform many years ago and nowadays I'm frustrated cause things that was working today fails. I wish you understand my point of view. Anyway, thank you for your advice about the "Importance" field that I sometimes forget ;) Regards -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

There are however two ways around this, the first: if ((unchangeable && part) || other) where `other` could come from the rules. From what I can tell (as a noob in C++ and kwin) there is another more elegant option as well. It seems that the window rules are applied at a later state in the code and there is an option an option available for `Activity` that currently has the following options: - All activities - Activity X - Activity Y In my naive mind it should be quite easy to add the option 'Current activity'. Stop ignoring compression options when dropping files Compression options set by CreateDialog were only taken into account when adding files through the AddDialog, but not when adding files by dropping them from Dolphin. [plasmashell] [Bug 396616] New: Last icon in task manager not shown, but adding an extra icon causes it to shrink and display all
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396616 Bug ID: 396616 Summary: Last icon in task manager not shown, but adding an extra icon causes it to shrink and display all Product: plasmashell Version: 5.13.2 Platform: Debian unstable OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Icons-only Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Sometimes, depending on the size of the task manager and how it is filled, the icons-only task manager would fail to show the very last icon (as the space doesn't fit given the icons' sizes). However, after launching an extra application (adding one extra icon), these icons would shrink, and the previously-hidden icon would become visible, along with the new icon. In my case, with a resolution of 1366x768, big icons, and roughly half of the task bar used by other widgets, this problem happens with exactly the 14th icon, which is not visible while the other 13 are, but when adding a 15th icon, the 14th and 15th both become visible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: Tools Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kapyia@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 113991 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113991=edit Video demonstration In Krita 4.2.0 Pre-Alpha (krita-nightly-x64-v4.0.0.51-1735-g024d1a36eb), undone selected areas aren't properly unloaded. Steps to reproduce: - Open a new document - Select a large area with any Selection Tool (I recommend Outline Selection Tool) - Make new smaller selections (note: Selection Tools set to Replace mode), making sure the new selections overlap the first one - Undo actions until you're back at the first selection - Paint inside of the selection - Painted areas will be restricted to boxes of the undone selections Occurs with and without Canvas Graphics Acceleration. This can happen in several different ways but I'm not sure if these are related: 1) Plasmashell crashes and restarts, and the KDE bug reporter is started. A crash report is attached. 2) Plasmashell freezes and stops working (CPU usage goes to 100% of 1 core) but keyboard and mouse still work and can be used to switch between tasks or to access text console. 3) Plasmashell freezes and keyboard and mouse are frozen too. Only kernel SysRq keys can be used to reboot the computer or sometimes to recover from the situation without rebooting. I think this problem, and especially nr. 3), happens more often if you move the mouse over the menu immediately after clicking the menu icon, i.e. before the menu opening effect has finished. Or, move the mouse *very* fast over the opened menu. This does not seem to happen when X11 is used. [kwin] [Bug 395632] On RX Vega 64, KDE compositor does not run at 144Hz even though monitor refresh rate is set to 144Hz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395632 --- Comment #29 from Benjamin Xiao --- (In reply to Martin Flöser from comment #28) > If KWin correctly detects the refresh rate the maxfps setting has no > influence at all. It's the same code. If I set MaxFPS=144, there's definitely a difference. I can feel it in webpage scrolling and when moving windows around. I wish there was another way for me to prove it to you besides the ShowFPS plugin. The difference is very visible. Also doesn't the fact that ShowFPS shows different values prove that there's something going on? Yes I get that it isn't accurate, but the MaxFPS setting is doing something because when I have it set to 144, Show FPS effect gives me 100. If I don't have it set, it gives me 75. If the code there is exactly the same, there must be a different section of the code that's influencing this. If you don't think that Show FPS is accurate, could you please let me know of an alternative way to prove it? This is NOT placebo. Many people on Reddit are also experiencing this same issue and have had to use MaxFPS=144. You've already posted several times there saying that it isn't a valid solution and that we should file bug reports, but currently that remains the only valid solution to fully taking advantage of our high refresh rate monitors. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351897 David Edmundson changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@davidedmundson.co.uk --- Comment #15 from David Edmundson --- @Ralf there's something interesting in that backtrace that I hadn't realised. #17 0x719744ea in QClipboard::dataChanged() which is fair enough then we get #10 0x75747925 in QQuickTextEdit::q_canPasteChanged() (this=0x56027b30) before the blocking #0 0x7fffe7398dc8 in QXcbClipboard::waitForClipboardEvent but it means we load the clipboard data (in a blocking way!) for every single QQuickTextEdit.
