I didn't use the appbundle of digikam. But from my digikam and gwenview on my
gentoo box, the behaviou is same. What I expect is to have the image displayed
in 1:1 pixel mapping no matter the zoom rate I selected for HiDPI display. That
will make the image really sharp.

I finally figured that the bug lies in the latest Android app rather than the

send notifications to the desktop. Downgrading the Android app to version 1.6.6
resolves this.

Eureka!! You solved problem in Version 2.7.1 "Peace of Mind". I installed it
from "KDE Extras: Experimental", cause was easier for me than compile or try
from GIT. And it worked just as expected.

Moreover, the link you included let me know exactly what I should install from
console with a "zypper" command before the first time I launch Krusader!!

Git commit 0c4c775b9dd36c3a93a707f28ff15232165b301a by Christoph Feck, on
behalf of Maximilian Schiller.
Committed on 16/08/2018 at 22:26.
Pushed by cfeck into branch 'master'.

Repeat last action when pressing "=" or Enter

This patch allows to press the equal sign again in order to repeat
the last action again.

For example "5+10" yields "15" on Enter and if you press Enter or
equal sign again it repeats the "+ 10" by showing you "25" now.

This behavior is disabled by default and can be turned on in
KCalc's settings panel under "Misc".

Thanks for the info on QT's issue, it helps anyone looking into this (including
me, and thus why I bumped in the first place) to know where to look.

Thread messages with same reference ID together

Summary:
Thread messages with same reference ID together

Messages from github or bugzilla usually use In-Reply-To and References headers
with an ID that either doesn't actually exist or just isn't around in the
folder. In case of bugzilla, no threading happens in that case because subject
lines don't start with "Re:". github does do that, but oftentimes the subject
based threading is imprecise (by design).

Therefore create a sorted-by-date cache of messages similar to the subject
based cache and put any message we cannot perfectly thread to the very first
message with the same message ID.
What results is a flat but threaded messagelist similar to what thunderbird
does.

2018-08-16 Thread vanyossi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390642

There is a workaround if you have a mouse/trackpad. When the cursor gets stuck
just move it with the trackpad/mouse. Not the best work around, but at least it
lets me draw.

In general it seems Qt on OSX has a different approach for handling tablet
events which causes this cursor bug to surface. I suspect it is rooted on Qt as
I get a similar error on other Qt apps when using the tablet. But possibly
there is something we can do to fix from Krita, but I haven't had the time to
look into it.

boud wasn't been agressive, he was being informative. We do depend on
contributions, so despite the bump we can't accelerate the rate this bug will
be fixed. I do Krita hacking on OSX but I have yet to acquire the technical
knowledge to understand this bug, Im sorry.

[kdevelop] [Bug 397062] missing Qt5 QDebug output

> Presumably, if you run your app like `theapp >&- 2>&-` it will write to

Well, I thought that would work, but apparently not. I did confirm, however,
that a simple app for me is *not* producing output that is visible in KDevelop
(I *do* see the output in journalctl). I also see the output if I run the app
from Konsole (i.e. "a real tty"), or if I set QT_LOGGING_TO_CONSOLE=1.

In any case, I'm getting at least some output from KDevelop itself in
journalctl; if you're running that, and especially if you're running plasma and
other KDE apps, it should be pretty obvious if you have QDebug stuff going to
journald. If you *don't* see bunches of Qt/KDE stuff in journalctl, you
probably don't have QDebug using journald.

This isn't really the lock screen's fault; it's entirely appropriate for
security reasons that internet access is prohibited. Rather, these plugins
should probably be updated to locally cache the images somewhere so no network

I'm very sorry that you had a bad experience here, Markus. KDE has now moved to
phabricator.kde.org, and I hope you're able to log into that. If not, please
let send an email to sysad...@kde.org and you can expect a reply very quickly.

Meanwhile, this bug was fixed quite a while ago with
https://cgit.kde.org/kdeplasma-addons.git/commit/?id=30c8cd5bb57dab0e4d49dc76354f912aef02fc7e

The other providers were also fixed in other commits.

Presumably, if you run your app like `theapp >&- 2>&-` it will write to
journald, and thus you could do so and expect that you can see your message in
`journalctl`. (For that matter, there should be a bunch of Qt/KDE stuff in
there, *if* Qt is using it.)

KDevelop spits this while compiling
`g++ -Wl,-O1 -o second build/main.o   -lQt5Widgets -lQt5Gui -lQt5Core -lGL
-lpthread `
so this should be a is a qt5 project

I could not find a way of knowing whether Qt was build with journald support or
not, so...I might use a little help. I am running KDE Neon Dev edition, if that
might help. I suppose that I could just test on a fedora VM just to be sure.

[dolphin] [Bug 397520] Mac OSX Build from binary factory does not start

2018-08-16 Thread Julian Schraner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397520

That seems like a good idea, but we'll need to be able to run dbus somehow
first. Please try running 'echo $DBUS_LAUNCHD_SESSION_BUS_SOCKET' and '`brew
--prefix qt`/bin/qdbus'. The first command should echo a valid path, e.g.
/tmp/launch-EJDiyji/unix_domain_listener. The second command should show the
available services, at least org.freedesktop.DBus. If this is not the case,
then there's likely a problem with the installation of dbus. I'll dig a bit
deeper and see what I can find.

Git commit 4ecb1a0f377be6b0e6e816655e4b3e8c38301d96 by Christoph Feck, on
behalf of Miklos Marton.
Committed on 16/08/2018 at 19:13.
Pushed by cfeck into branch 'master'.

Remember the Bitfield editor visiblity state

The bitfield editor can only be displayed in binary numeral mode.

If the user selects a different numeral mode, then switches back
to binary, it would be feasible to display the bitfield editor
again if last time it was opened.

that was unnecessarily aggressive. i am literally just saying that hey, *macos

this? if anyone has had any thoughts whatsoever on this? but no, you just had

The current implementation already looks different. It queries the file system,
whether it is a FAT* or NTFS* file system. It will also replace a whole host of
other characters that Windows does not support. In this way, Linux users can
continue to use a colon. If from Linux has special characters in the file name
and it is to be copied to a Windows file system, then an export tool must
correct the file names.

I think, it would be better to replace the colon character unconditionally, not
only on the Windows platform. Linux users often want to share photos with
Windows users or want to save photos on a medium which is also accessed by
Windows computers.

[krita] [Bug 390642] Cursor gets stuck with the wrong icon after moving between canvas and gui

2018-08-16 Thread Boudewijn Rempt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390642

I'm sorry, but no, you cannot "bump" this. Krita being an open source project
is dependent on contributions to the code base to a large extent, and this is
one place where we lack those contributions. We need more macOS fans to start
hacking on Krita.

[krunner] [Bug 397531] New: AppStream Krunner does not return any results if there are nonfatal errors

2018-08-16 Thread Stefan Brüns

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

According to
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/api/AsPool.html#as-pool-load
---
as_pool_load

Builds an index of all found components in the watched locations. The function
will try to get as much data into the pool as possible, so even if the update
completes with FALSE, it might still have added components to the pool.
---

The journal is filled with "no appstream for you" messages after as_pool_load
returned false, and nothing is returned.

Just ignoring the return value and calling as_poll_search (via the AppStreamQt
wrapper) returns correct results.

[kwin] [Bug 385026] Pointer lock interferes with games

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385026

Are you facing this bug? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35

I still get that from time to time. The patch
(https://phabricator.kde.org/D13466) to fix that is supposedly in kwin 5.13.1+,
but kwin 5.13.1+ still exhibits that buggy behaviour from time to time.

I compiled kwin 5.13.3 with that patch, and that seemed to conclusively fix
that problem for me.

Maybe you can try compiling 5.13.4 with that patch and see if it works for you.

What's wrong with visually displaying cache (as green custom color like
before), but reporting without adding in cache (like before)?

It was not "wrong" and matched (visually) what top and others would report.

In other words, why hide the used cache?

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this bug. Your problem is luckily already known (see
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/xlsx-and-docx-files-are-opened-as-zip-file/25814/36
for a lengthy discussion). Apparently, this is the workaround:
1. Open a terminal.
2. Move /usr/share/mime/packages/kde.xml to
/usr/share/mime/packages/kde_backup.xml (or similar)
3. Run 'sudo update-mime-database /usr/share/mime'

Could you confirm that these steps work for you? Thanks!

It is an intermittant problem and I cannot see any consistancecy in the cause.

desktops far enough that the title bar is no longer visable. The windows may
be moved down by selecting on the frame then selecting Move.
My system is using a Ninvida GeForce display and runing two desktop screens off

[telepathy] [Bug 397527] New: Chat UI does not auto scroll when messages are received

2018-08-16 Thread Filipe Azevedo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397527

Bug ID: 397527
Summary: Chat UI does not auto scroll when messages are
received
   Product: telepathy
   Version: git-latest
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: text-ui
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pas...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: Future

When new messages are received in the Chat UI (QtWidgets) the content is not
auto scrolled so we can read the message immediately.
One need to constantly manually scroll the chat view, very boring.
It is similar to #298392 but apply to the widget based version.

Sorry for my poor English
I install the wps office for linux to open *.pptx files.
But in Dolphin, when I click to open *.pptx files, Ark starts running.
I have to right click the file again, and choose the right application.
The MIME type of the file is correct with "application/wps-office.pptx".
I tried to reset the default application but failed.

This is a bug and should be solved with upcoming 18.08 release (Bug 364127).
You can try this 18.08 version from here:
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/Kdenlive-18.08.0-w64.7z.

I made a quick test and it seems to work.

But the Play bug still exists. And the remaining processes too, after you end
Kdenlive and which you have to kill via batch.

Thanks for your bug report. One of my colleagues could confirm this problem as
well. According to
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9066900/krusader-crashed-on-mac-osx-10-7-2,
the same problem appeared with Krusader a few years ago. Could you try whether
the solution presented (running launchctl load
/Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist without sudo) does
work? That'd be great.

Committed on 16/08/2018 at 14:52.
Pushed by mutlaqja into branch 'master'.

Use IAU preferred names. While Tsih seems the most common name for Gamma
Cassiopeiae, Navi is also associated from old space missions.

Epsilon Cassiopeiae was incorrectly name as Navi where it should be Segin.

I have some scripts for a long time who are including both entries:
// @include   *.example.org/*
// @match   *example.com/*
and they are was working so far. I don't know why i have both entries, it
probably is wrong.
So for the tests, i just used one of them as a template and just changed it to:
// @include   *
// @match   *
and the scripts continued not working until i deleted the @match entry (this
still works on Qt 5.10).
However, looks like having both entries is wrong.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

2018-08-16 Thread Filip
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395027

(In reply to daniel roi from comment #5)
> I just moved to KDE because it was supposedly "way more configurable" than
> Gnome, but seeing this request answered with a WONTFIX makes me wonder...
> So the only thing I can do to change the horrible icons in SDDM when using
> Breeze as KDE's main theme is to change the theme itself?

Indeed. When it comes to icons, here's what I tried and failed at:

- copied the entire .config folder into /var/lib/sddm/.config because as a user
I simply don't know what the "relevant files" are -> does not give desired
icons, but what I learned was that if you copy fontconfig and .kdeglobals it
will at least give you your desired fonts, fontsizes, font rendering and theme
colors)
- added an iconTheme value to theme.conf -> does not work
- edited main.qml so that the icon paths point directly to the icons I like ->
works, but sddm renders these icons terribly, even though they're of good
quality
- wiped the Breeze icon theme and replaced it with another one -> does not work
- wiped the Breeze desktop theme and replaced it with another one -> does not
work

So you can manually change some things with the Breeze theme, but I still have
no clue how to properly change the icons. And thanks to not making SDDM
customizable back when it was being implemented, as a consequence you now have
some third-party themes which hardcode additional stuff (e.g font), meaning you
possibly can't just elegantly parse values that would affect all themes into
/var/lib/sddm/.config anymore even if you wanted to implement what I proposed
here.

area", i.e., the real editor.

2) Consider a line, that is very very long. If it is such long, that it does
not fit in the whole edit area, it is impossible to scroll to the end of the
line with "per line scrolling" of the scroll bar. Furthermore, a "wrapped line
scroll" (e.g., by ctrl+up/down) will not always change the scroll bar position
(i.e. the scroll bar is jumpy). That's why I proposed to change that scroll bar
behavior as well

3) that's why I suggested to change that scrolling behavior as well (see point
2)

@Dominik Haumann:
I agree, that very long lines should be avoided. But sometimes you just have
files from other people, converted texts from LibreOffice/Word (where one
paragraph is represented by a line) or you have scientific content (such as
DNA-strings, etc).
