Please disregard my comment above. I initially misunderstood the feedback. However, I still don't understand why file extended attributes could not be used, which would preserve the linkage to the file despite its movement. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[okular] [Bug 380330] Bookmarks disconnected after path change
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380330 --- Comment #5 from Jeff Dooley --- (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #2) > Let's say you save the bookmarks on a pdf file (which you can not), how do > you pretend to know all the bookmarks you have on your system? You need a > file that points to those files, so you have the same problem. Bookmarks that are only scoped within a single PDF file (not all files in the system) would be the only bookmarks I care about. I already know how to find the files I need, and I have numerous tools available to find files. However, "bookmarks", like the physical pieces of fabric or paper inside a book, only help me to find interesting bits of information within a PDF file that I already have opened. So the metaphor of broken links across the file path/ tree is pretty much irrelevant, I would say. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Anyway, this is what I wanted to write as I was able to reproduce the bug like this 100% of the time. Just now, when I tried it again for my comment, the problem is gone. The only thing I've changed is my Plasma theme. I went from Breeze Dark to Arc Dark (which is kvatum theme) and the problem is gone. I am not able to test further tonight but maybe it is related... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 368287] Dolphin crashed while moving files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368287 --- Comment #19 from Konrad Materka --- Created attachment 114524 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=114524=edit New crash information added by DrKonqi dolphin (18.08.0) using Qt 5.11.1 - What I was doing when the application crashed: This is probably related to Bug 391699. Happend while moving files (directory) from ext4 to NTFS. I've got several popups with error messages saying: "Access denied to %1." where %1 is a destination file. I selected "skip" several times until I've got errror with only cancel and retry. Then click on Cancel causes this crash. Looks that KJob object was deleted and then used again. Sometimes it crashes one line earlier in the code: Thread 1 (Thread 0x7f7c28092800 (LWP 12962)): [KCrash Handler] #6 0x7f7c23476ad4 in KJob::isAutoDelete (this=this@entry=0x55e599ebbb50) at ./src/lib/jobs/kjob.cpp:333 #7 0x7f7c23476b21 in KJob::finishJob (this=this@entry=0x55e599ebbb50, emitResult=emitResult@entry=true) at ./src/lib/jobs/kjob.cpp:112 #8 0x7f7c23478a0a in KJob::emitResult (this=this@entry=0x55e599ebbb50) at ./src/lib/jobs/kjob.cpp:293 #9 0x7f7c25e64559 in KIO::FileCopyJob::slotResult (this=0x55e599ebbb50, job=0x55e599f16bd0) at ./src/core/filecopyjob.cpp:573 - Custom settings of the application: NTFS mounted with this flags. It is default setting on Kubuntu/Neon. IIRC changing it to something else workarounds this issue so it is important. UUID= /media/Disk ntfsdefaults,umask=007,gid=46 0 0 I guess that when files is moved Dolphin tries to change owner and permissions to the source ones. On NTFS it fails which then somehow leads to crash in KJob. -- Backtrace (Reduced): #6 QCoreApplication::postEvent (receiver=receiver@entry=0x55e4b23907f0, event=0x7fd3d800cd90, priority=priority@entry=0) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1451 #7 0x7fd3f18f27a1 in QObject::deleteLater (this=this@entry=0x55e4b23907f0) at kernel/qobject.cpp:2172 #8 0x7fd3f3293b3e in KJob::finishJob (this=this@entry=0x55e4b23907f0, emitResult=emitResult@entry=true) at ./src/lib/jobs/kjob.cpp:113 #9 0x7fd3f3295a0a in KJob::emitResult (this=this@entry=0x55e4b23907f0) at ./src/lib/jobs/kjob.cpp:293 #10 0x7fd3f5c81559 in KIO::FileCopyJob::slotResult (this=0x55e4b23907f0, job=0x55e4b22e9050) at ./src/core/filecopyjob.cpp:573 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I think, not much people will use characters like ":" and "*" for filenames, but those characters can be part of the variables, e.g. EXIF variables. I searched for this bug report, because I wanted to insert date+time in the filename, because this makes it possible to sort photos easily by date/time. Unfortunately this does not work with Digikam 5.9.0 + Linux + VFAT media, because [meta:Exif.Image.DateTime] produces filenames with colons (e.g. 2016:12:27 18:54:23.jpg) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Now I realize this may not sound like an issue on your side but interestingly enough, the LastPass extension seems to have caused the exact same problem in the past: https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant-polymer/issues/448 and per the referenced issues, also caused problems for other projects using web components (https://github.com/webcomponents/webcomponentsjs/issues/819, https://github.com/appreciated/vaadin-app-layout/issues/98). Now if this is really caused by the same addon behaviour then the plasma browser integration could very well also break other websites using similar polymer/webcomponent code but I haven't gotten a chance to check it yet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 397677] New: Folder list shows all mails as unread
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397677 Bug ID: 397677 Summary: Folder list shows all mails as unread Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: folders Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: k...@aschoettler.com Target Milestone: --- I have installed all available Arch Linux packages. My system is thus up to date. Since the last update, all mails in the folder list are displayed as unread, even though they are already marked as read in the mail overview. Also a manual change as unread and read again does not help. The mails remain unread in the folder list. Access via IMAP. The database is PostgreSQL. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[neon] [Bug 397663] kdepim-addons version 18.08 not compiled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397663 --- Comment #5 from sa666...@gmail.com --- Not sure what you mean. When I look at the 18.08 release on kde.org, it has kdepim-addons 18.08. But when I look in the apt repo at the address posted, everything else has been released in the 18.08 series _except_ for kdepim-addons; that one is still 18.04. I guess someone forgot to upgrade and compile that package for the 18.08 release. I am not compiling anything myself; this is strictly an issue with what the APT repo is providing for download. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-browser-integration] [Bug 396291] Activities
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396291 --- Comment #2 from Andreas Kilgus --- There is an approach to integrate Firefox with activities based on automatic profile generation: https://github.com/hellishnoob/activityfox It has its flaws (lots of profiles, additional non-firefox window required and to hide, no way to change settings / extensions in all activity specific profiles at once) but maybe there is a chance to join this approach and the native component of plasma-browser-integration and to eliminate some flaws with the cooperation of native host and browser extension? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
