[Oxygen] [Bug 199765] security icons usability problems
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199765 --- Comment #3 from ki...@piments.com --- WOW nearly a decade for a NEEDSINFO response ! I no longer use KDE, but I don't see anything in this bug report that can not be quickly tested by anyone using KDE plasmoids. Are you still using the shield icons? That not something you outside help with , is it ? It could probably have been tested in the same time it took to enter the NEEDSINFO comment. Or maybe this is just a robot posting a generic comment as a prelude to closing old bugs no one bothered looking at in ten years. ? There is nothing in that comment that indicates the bug was ever read. Not a very encouraging response from KDE team. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183880 --- Comment #4 from Stephan Sokolow --- I doubt I'll have time to risk breakages from upgrading until pretty close to the end of the Kubuntu 14.04 LTS support window in April 2019. (I've had to waste a day or two hacking around breakages every time I've upgraded my desktop, even when doing a clean reinstall rather than an upgrade to minimize the problem, so I hop from LTS to LTS.) [frameworks-kunitconversion] [Bug 388074] Add some units from the petroleum industry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388074 --- Comment #5 from Nate Graham --- Since it's a shared library, all you have to do is install your compiled version and KRunner will pick it up after being killed and restarted. You have two options: 1. Install it to /usr and overwrite the system version of the kunitconversion shared library. If you do this, you'll probably want to reinstall the distro-provided version after you're done testing. 2. Install it to a different location and adjust some things to make KRunner preferentially find your custom-compiled version. If you opt to do this. When attempting to dial password for voicemail, or dial pin for joining a bridge line, tones are not heard, and sometimes are not accepted by the destination STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Setup SIP account 2. Dial access number for voicemail 3. Dial pin number for mailbox OBSERVED RESULT when dialing a SIP number, a tone is heard for the first number but not the rest of the numbers. Once the call connects and the voicemail or bridge asks for the pin, tones for typing numbers are not heard, sporadically the voicemail pin will be taken EXPECTED RESULT Expect all tones to be heard to verify they were taken by the software and passed to the voicemail server SOFTWARE VERSIONS Kubuntu Xenial KDE Plasma Version: 4:5.8.9 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.36.0 Qt Version: 5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 400534] Flash in Firefox in fullscreen mode breaks plasmashell/KWin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400534 --- Comment #6 from pemartins --- Thank you Christoph for the help. Unfortunately I cannot get a backtrace report, it does not appear automatically and I wasn't able to get one with gdb either. Installed kdelibs5-dbg and firefox-dbg but no luck, running gdb kwin or gdb plasmashell also no luck. One of the things that happens is that the toolbars of the windows disappear which means that kwin crashed (right) but I cannot get a report. I'll try again when possible but for now just close the thread. Thank you all for your help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[partitionmanager] [Bug 400540] KDE Partition Manager taking an extremely long time to start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400540 Andrius Štikonas changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|normal |minor Priority|NOR |LO --- Comment #6 from Andrius Štikonas --- Glad to hear that you found a workaround. I'll lower the importance of the bug since you have a workaround it's a fairly rare setup. In principle it would be good to investigate it a bit more and find what was causing that slow down before. [digikam] [Bug 400604] excessive stat() syscalls
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400604 --- Comment #1 from Johannes Berg --- I said every 8k, and I also said >>7000 stat calls - and indeed (some of) those PNG files are in fact >100MB. That still means something is off in my calculations (every 8k for >100MB should be ~13k stat calls), but still. I also see something similar with TIF files, though not nearly as many calls, so perhaps it is per PNG chunk for some reason, and should be assigned to FilesIO-PNG instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 400604] New: excessive stat() syscalls
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400604 Bug ID: 400604 Summary: excessive stat() syscalls Product: digikam Version: 5.9.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: FilesIO-Engine Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: johan...@sipsolutions.net Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 116057 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=116057=edit (postprocessed) strace -e stat log SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. add an album containing PNG files OBSERVED RESULT *far* too many stat() calls, to the point where this is becomes the bottleneck (though admittedly that might in part also be because this is on NFS for me) EXPECTED RESULT Not limited by stat() calls as the result is not expected to change within milliseconds. SOFTWARE VERSIONS (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: unknown (mostly gnome system) KDE Frameworks Version: unknown (mostly gnome system) Qt Version: unknown (mostly gnome system) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I suspect that somehow there's a read() routine in or for the PNG decompressor that does a stat() call for each 8k block being read. When doing the strace fully without limiting to stat() [which I did in the attached file] I also see the following pattern (over and over again): stat("/path/to/picture.png", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=112550827, ...}) = 0 stat("/path/to/picture.png", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=112550827, ...}) = 0 lseek(36, 29933568, SEEK_SET) = 29933568 lseek(36, 29958144, SEEK_SET) = 29958144 read(36, ""..., 8192) = 8192 stat("/path/to/picture.png", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=112550827, ...}) = 0 stat("/path/to/picture.png", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=112550827, ...}) = 0 lseek(36, 29966336, SEEK_SET) = 29966336 lseek(36, 29990912, SEEK_SET) = 29990912 read(36, ""..., 8192) = 8192 for ever 8k in the file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdelibs] [Bug 209025] meinproc4 hangs waiting for futex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209025 Henrik Pauli changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |UNMAINTAINED --- Comment #9 from Henrik Pauli --- KDE v4 is obsolete, so I'll close it as such. I'm fairly sure this got otherwise solved (as we did manage to build KDE 4.4 and beyond), but I can't remember what the root cause was for the hang. Knowing software, I'd guess the N+3rd layer somewhere deep in the stack :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
