[plasma-nm] [Bug 403546] Redundant plasma-nm wireguard DNS entry in connection editor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403546 Jan Grulich changed: What|Removed |Added Latest Commit||https://commits.kde.org/pla ||sma-nm/29b6d0ee59001200de39 ||0d4926ada432670ccab8 Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #1 from Jan Grulich --- Git commit 29b6d0ee59001200de390d4926ada432670ccab8 by Jan Grulich, on behalf of Bruce Anderson. Committed on 13/02/2019 at 07:10. Pushed by grulich into branch 'master'. Remove redundant DNS field Summary: A DNS field was included on the VPN tab in the initial release to match the interface of the underlying NetworkManager plugin. This change removes this field and instead requires the user to use the standard DNS field on the IPv4 and/or IPv6 tabs to enter DNS servers. The import function was changed to insert any DNS servers specified in the incoming config file into the new locations and the export function was changed to output DNS servers from the IPv4 and IPv6 tabs if they are present but for compatibility with connections created with the previous version or with the basic NetworkManager plugin, if the IPv4 and IPv6 tabs do not contain DNS and an (undisplayed) entry on the VPN tab is present it will export from there. This allows a user to update a connection to the new format by simply exporting it, deleting it, and re-importing it. (examine both the passwords in hex editor, they are really different - utf8 pass has 1 byte more) So what I would like to have: where: password prompt dialogue window what: something like the encoding selectbox here https://i.imgur.com/1cwfiCr.png -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[latte-dock] [Bug 404252] Virtual Desktop Pager is Not Displayed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404252 --- Comment #5 from andydecle...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Michail Vourlakos from comment #3) > video does not work, better use google drive or dropbox to share videos with > issues The video works fine with mpv. Just point mpv to the attachment URI. > The desktop pager is shown ONLY if there are two or more desktops Ah! I had a pager on a different edge before, and when I removed it, I didn't realize that also erased my virtual desktop names, count, and arrangement. I thought the result was that I had multiple desktops, but the shortcuts were erased, so no keyboard method to switch between them. I see now the other desktops have been entirely removed, but the shortcuts remain and work again when I re-add desktops. Is this behavior of hiding the virtual desktop manager with only one desktop intentional? This doesn't make sense to me, as it removes the convenient ways to create more or change settings. If it is, this bug is invalid. Another reason to change that behavior is that a user might, as I did, not have any idea the add-widget action was successful, and add 20 or so hidden desktop pagers, waiting to pounce on the user when they eventually find another way to add a new desktop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[neon] [Bug 404217] Could not install KDE Development via search for 'develop': could not resolve dependencies (bad search result?)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404217 --- Comment #6 from Tim Richardson --- It is normal for the same software to appear more than once in Discover. For instance, search for Libreoffice. You will get results from the .deb sources and from flatpak. So the fact that there are multiple hits for KDE Develop is not a bug. There are potentially three matches for an application: .deb, snap and flatpak. Reviews associated with an application sit with the source, so Libreoffice-the-flatpak will have a different set of user reviews than Libreoffice-the-deb. Right now, a search for LibreOffice has one result for 19 ratings, and one with 22 ratings. The icons look the same. When you click through to the details, you can see the source of the app. Right now, the top result is the flatpak version (with 19 ratings). So duplicate entries is not the bug. The problem is that in this case, one of the results does not work. Also, the problem search result does not identify why it is in the search result, I will attached screenshots. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 404270] New: Closing a window that is highlighted and active, with a keyboard shortcut, will not end the effect, Other windows stay transparent.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404270 Bug ID: 404270 Summary: Closing a window that is highlighted and active, with a keyboard shortcut, will not end the effect, Other windows stay transparent. Product: plasmashell Version: 5.14.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: hans.rudol...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 118023 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118023=edit This shows the effect explained. But now when I open the same application and cancel the effect by triggering a tooltip in the tray. It only gets cancelled for that application. SUMMARY The highlight effect does not end if the highlighted window (Task Manager Settings) is also the active window and is closed. Or rather the transparency effect of the non-highlighted window(s) persists even thought the highlighted window is closed. The behaviour also changes with the tooltip setting. There are some additional strange behaviours with multiple desktops also connected with highlighting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable [Highlight Windows] in Task Manager Setting (see related config file below) 2. Also Disable [Show Tooltips] 3. Open two applications, you have two entries on the Task Panel 4. Move/resize the window, that is designated by the leftmost entry on the Task Panel, to occupy the left half of the screen 5. The window designated by the second entry on the Task Panel should occupy the right half. 6. Make sure the right window is active 7. Hover over the second entry on Task Panel, with the mouse cursor. The left window will become transparent. 8. Use a keyboard shortcut to close the active and highlighted (right) window. OBSERVED RESULT The left window stays transparent. If you click the application launcher it will also be transparent. You can click the transparent window and use the application as you normally would but it stays transparent. In fact it does immediately become active as soon as the right window has closed. Only once you hover over the Task Panel entry of the window that is still open this effect is canceled. If you hover over any item on the Panel that is not a part of the Task Panel, the tooltip will also be transparent. However if you repeat the steps above except at step 2 you Enable [Show Tooltip], hovering over the Application Launcher or an item in the System Tray, will also cancel the effect. EXPECTED RESULT The transparency effect should end as soon as the highlighted window is closed. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5 Qt Version: 5.12.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 Kernel Version: 4.20.7-arch1-1-ARCH OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz Memory: 3.5 GiB of RAM Using plasma-meta package and kwin. These are the relevant configurations I could find: [Containments][2][Applets][5] immutability=1 plugin=org.kde.plasma.taskmanager [Containments][2][Applets][5][Configuration] PreloadWeight=0 [Containments][2][Applets][5][Configuration][ConfigDialog] DialogHeight=980 DialogWidth=1680 [Containments][2][Applets][5][Configuration][General] groupingStrategy=0 highlightWindows=true launchers=applications:pycharm.desktop onlyGroupWhenFull=false showOnlyCurrentActivity=false showOnlyCurrentDesktop=true showToolTips=false sortingStrategy=0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The steps above are the simplest and clearest setup to reproduce. The size and positioning of the window doesn't matter. The point of doing it in this specific way is, if you would close the left window, the Task Panel entry on the right would shift to the left (under the mouse cursor) and the effect would be cancelled immediately and probably not be noticed. This effect happens with any number of open windows, grouped windows. It expands over all Virtual Desktops. I.e. if you switch to another Desktop the windows there will also be transparent. It happens whether the [Show Only Tasks from the current desktop] is Enabled or Disabled. If you do the steps above except at step 2: enable [Show Tooltip], set Grouping to [By Program Name], enable [Open Groups in popups], disable [Only group when the Task Manager is full] at step 3: Open the same program twice (two windows). at step 7: hover over the Task Panel entry until the popup with two previews appears and move the mouse cursor to the rightmost preview. You get the same result. (make sure the left preview doesn't shift under the cursor once the right preview disappears. Another related issue is that with multiple virtual desktops, highlighting enabled. Hovering over an item on the task panel and then switching to another desktop (left, right,up,down), will

So I suggest not to excuse the usability deficits of this custom widget with "it's not a tabbar like the others, so it doesn't need to look like it". I would like to point out that the issue at hands doesn't stop at the static look of tabs. Also, if you want to reorder tabs manually, the visual feedback is severely lacking (missing, in fact, while you move the tab around). This irritates the user and makes dragging tabs dreadful (waiting for the "pop"). A problem that is already solved in regular Qt/KDE or GTK. Please see the comparison attached. [plasmashell] [Bug 341143] Wallpaper on every desktop is gone.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341143 --- Comment #308 from David Edmundson --- As an update: In the many threads about the design of virtual desktops on wayland - there's been a lot of movement to get a unique ID assigned to virtual desktops so that we can then use that for the tie-in with plasmashell. There has also been a lot of planning on how to remove the duplication and crossovers between activities and virtual desktops. The end result effectively being that activities will manage virtual desktops. Windows won't be on an N activities and N VDs, but will be on N virtual desktops which implies the activity. Something not possible whilst keeping compatibility with the X standard for VDs and having the same cardinality. That's the case and VDs on wayland has just been implemented. Plasma does not yet take advantage of this. I can't put a date on that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 12/02/2019 at 20:44. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'Plasma/5.15'. UpdatesPage: Fix icon sizing on small screens Summary: On Small screens (e.g phones), not all list items have the same height, for example when a package has a long version string. Since the width of the icon was previously copied from the height, this resulted in inconsistent icon sizes. This patch sets the icon size to a constant value, which fixes the problem.
