[ark] [Bug 404464] New: Missing MIME type for application/zstd

2019-02-16 Thread Muller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404464

Bug ID: 404464
Summary: Missing MIME type for application/zstd
   Product: ark
   Version: 18.12.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plugins
  Assignee: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Reporter: c822c4f23bca1ea6faac7...@mail.xn--3ds443g
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
shared-mime-info 1.11 includes 2 MIME types for Zstandard archive,
application/zstd (RFC 8478) and application/x-zstd-compressed-tar.
When using shared-mime-info 1.11 and above, a Zstandard archive may be
identified as application/zstd, and Ark incorrectly reports that no suitable
plugin can be found.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the latest version (1.12) of shared-mime-info
2. Create a Zstandard archive: tar -c --numeric-owner -f - test_folder/ |
zstdmt - > test.tar.zst
3. Open the archive using Ark

OBSERVED RESULT
Ark returns an error message: "No suitable plugin found. Ark does not seem to
support this file type."

EXPECTED RESULT
Ark should open the archive successfully.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0
shared-mime-info Version: 1.12
zstd Version: 1.3.8

[kdenlive] [Bug 404463] New: timeline refactor 2019-02-17 able to drag marker off the timeline

2019-02-16 Thread Evert Vorster
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404463

Bug ID: 404463
Summary: timeline refactor 2019-02-17 able to drag marker off
the timeline
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118146
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118146=edit
Screenshot of the pointer in an impossible position

SUMMARY
When adding keyframes to a transition, it is possible to drag the marker off
the timeline indication in the transition editor with the mouse.
This makes no sense, as it is not possible to add a keyframe outside of the
clip.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a transition on the timeline
2. Go to the transition editor and drag the marker all the way to the right.

OBSERVED RESULT
Being able to drag the marker to a place that makes no sense.

EXPECTED RESULT
Marker should stop at the last frame of the transition.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Arch Linux updated 2019-02

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This may seem like a small niggle, but it did take me some time to figure out
why I am not able to add a keyframe at the end of my clip...

  Platform: Other

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118145
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118145=edit
Screenshot of the timeline

SUMMARY
It is now difficult to discern where a clip starts and ends on the timeline.
There used to be borders or some sort of highlight, but the colors chosen with
the default KDE color theme now all blends together.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Throw clips on the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
Start and end of clips not easily discernible.

EXPECTED RESULT
Borders around groups, or higher contrast color, or clip images in clips

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Arch linux, updated on 2019-02
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I added a screenshot of my timeline to show the issue. Where does one clip
start and the other end? Which of these clips are groups? The color scheme used
to be good, it sucks now.
It may look more visually appealing, but it is difficult to do any serious
work. Time is wasted looking for borders and clips instead of actually
creating.

[plasmashell] [Bug 404461] New: Double-clicking a desktop icon does not work properly

2019-02-16 Thread Jim Sager
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404461

Bug ID: 404461
Summary: Double-clicking a desktop icon does not work properly
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: jsage...@verizon.net
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Changing plasma workspace global option click behavior to double-click to open
files and folders will prevent shortcuts on the desktop from starting when
double-clicked.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Close all open applications
2. Open "System Settings" and click on "Desktop Behavior"
3. Change "Click Behavior" to "Double-click to open files and folders (single
click to select)"
4. Close the "System Settings" window. Make sure all applications are closed.
5. Click the kickoff button on left side of the taskbar to bring up the
"Application Launcher"
6. Add an application to the desktop by right-clicking it and selecting "Add to
Desktop"
7. Double-click the icon on the desktop to start the application. If it starts
up, close it and then try double-clicking the same icon on the desktop again.

OBSERVED RESULT
8. The application will not start.

You can have several icons on the desktop and none of them will start when you
double-click them. However, if you have an application open and then
double-click on a desktop icon, that application will start up. If you close
all applications and double-click the desktop icons, they will not open the
application.

EXPECTED RESULT
After doing steps 1 through 6, any time you double-click an icon on the desktop
it should open that application.

Setting the "Click Behavior" in step 3 back to "Single-click to open files and
folders" will allow launching applications from the desktop again with single
clicks. Single-click action works fine. Double-click action does not work
properly.

What the Burn Blend Mode should look like

As I am having a computer overheating problem, I have to request somebody to
verify that this code replacement to current burn log function works. The
sample shows the end result when this works.

template
inline T cfColorBurnLogarithmic(T src, T dst) {
using namespace Arithmetic;
//Also known as Darken from EffectBank/Illusions.hu. IFS Illusions had used
this blending mode.

qreal fsrc = scale(abs(src));
qreal fdst = scale(abs(dst));

if (dst == unitValue()) {return scale(log2(1.0 + fsrc/0.00125);}

return scale(log2(1.0 + fsrc/((inv(fdst))/8)));
}

[neon] [Bug 404217] Could not install KDE Development via search for 'develop': could not resolve dependencies (bad search result?)

2019-02-16 Thread Tim Richardson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404217

Note that right now, searching for string 'develop' in Discover does not return
kdevelop as a search result, at all, although it does return a lot of other
IDEs. So this bug is no longer reproducible, but not for a good reason: I would
not have encountered the wrongly-described package, but neither would I have
found the package I was looking for.

My current workaround was to make the EWS resource the default then override it
for the other accounts. Unfortunately, I'm stuck using Thunderbird for EWS now
with bug #403903 which prevents EWS from being able to download email. (Note
that with Thunderbird I have to use an external editor to write email because
Thunderbird is unusably slow).

To make this even better, it would be great if Kontact allowed me to change the
identity at the time of writing the email as Thunderbird does.

Ok, found it myself meanwhile.

It only seems to be necessary for the scripting console (that's disabled by
default).

That cannot really be the problem here though, as that would show a dialog
window with the error message "A KDE text-editor component could not be found.
Please check your KDE installation. Exiting the console!"
And amarok would exit and crash.

So I really do think the problem is about the missing Wikipedia applet, and I
do think we should do something about that upstream.

Reopening therefore.

I think my idea about a kconf update script is probably the best way to go
about it, I'll try to come up with a proposal on phabricator in the next days,
if nobody beats me to it... ;-)

I guess that would suffice as a workaround for the moment. However, it would
be a great improvement if such settings were available from within the gui
rather than having to edit a hidden configuration file.

Also, I wonder if this problem might have something more to do with the fact
that I am running this application in gnome rather than KDE. Is there,
perhaps, a way to map various settings between gnome and KDE environments that
needs to be known and understood?

not all options. Panel specifies some Defaults in order for a Latte view to be
considered a Panel, on the other hand Dock also specifies some other Defaults
in order for the Latte view to be considered a Dock. So not all options are
forgotten only those that need to be updated.

2019-02-16 Thread Kurt Hindenburg

Bug ID: 404457
Summary: Changing tab text color using \e[28;t hasn't
worked in 10+ years
   Product: konsole
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: kurt.hindenb...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This hasn't worked since the KDE5 conversion
-
SVN code committed in 2005:
Add ESC code to change tab text color. Since t has to do with window
manipulation (according to xterm control seq), I decided to use it with
28. This doesn't do anything according to the specs as far as I can tell.

change tab text color : \e[28;t color: 0-16,777,215

See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80725

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. printf '\e[28;11t'
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens - connected signal goes no where

EXPECTED RESULT
I believe the tab text color should change to a number related to option - here

[krita] [Bug 404317] no CLI support for stdout export

2019-02-16 Thread brainchild
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404317

I agree that it is a wish. I just hope that given the high benefit and low
difficulty, it is not a forgotten wish.

You are making a painting application, and facilitating conversion to a
standard exchange or display format facilitates distribution of the paintings
that artists create with that painting application. A studio painter requires
paint, paintbrushes, canvas, and other source materials, as well as packaging
materials, to allow shipping out finished paintings, in order to be a
successful painter.

Writing a scaled PNG outfile file, without creating intermediary artifacts,
makes it easier to build web pages, publications, applications, and other
larger works for which Krita documents are among the source material, and such
support makes Krita a more useful and prolific tool.

Thanks very much for considering the request.

(For reference, from the man page of Inkscape, various formats can be specified
by CLI switch for headless conversion, and '-' is accepted as a filename,
representing standard output. Simple selections and manipulations are also
supported.)

[kamoso] [Bug 403121] Effect previews are inaccurate

2019-02-16 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403121

Idea: instead of using the first image from the image gallery, silently take a
new picture at the moment the gallery is opened and use that as the basis for
the effect previews.

The previews still would not be live, but they would at least be less
inaccurate. I once had effect thumbnails that depicted me in the Dusseldorf
airport while my kids and I were messing around with Kamoso at home. Also this
proposal would fix Bug 404456.

[kamoso] [Bug 404456] New: Opening the Effects Gallery drawer when no images have been taken yet renders the whole system unresponsive

2019-02-16 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404456

Bug ID: 404456
Summary: Opening the Effects Gallery drawer when no images have
been taken yet renders the whole system unresponsive
   Product: kamoso
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Kamoso from git master.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Delete all Kamoso-created images in ~/Pictures, or whatever is set as the
default picture location
2. Quit Kamoso and launch it again
3. Click the bottom-left hamburger button to open the Effect Gallery drawer

OBSERVED RESULT
The button highlights but the drawer does not open. Kamoso then hangs. 1-2
seconds after that, the entire system becomes unresponsive. Mouse clicks and
keyboard input are not accepted. A hard reboot is required!

EXPECTED RESULT
The Effects Gallery drawer opens and allows you to apply effects.

This is likely because the Effects gallery (inappropriately) uses the first
image from the image list to render effect previews due to Bug 403121; when no
images have been taken yet, there is no image available for this purpose.

Screenshot showing the tiny text above the table data information.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Open a database project.
2.Click on a table in the left column of the project workspace.

OBSERVED RESULT
The centre region shows the contents of the selected table (i.e. "Data" mode).
However, the tabs at the top of the table contents that say "Table", "Data",
"Design", "Save Record", "Cancel Recent Changes", "Ascending", "Descending" &
"Find" are so small, I needed to read them with a magnifying glass!

The most recent Handbook downloaded from docs.kde.org don't look exactly like
what I am seeing but I think the region I am describing is called the "Opened
Database Objects Area" or something like that.

EXPECTED RESULT

The text in the tabs is big enough to read and/or there is a way to change the
text size.

NOTE: This is a Window Title Applet ticket (not Latte Dock). I don't think that
the component has been added to the bug tracker.

SUMMARY
The Window Title Applet doesn't refresh the position fast enough when

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Window Title inside a Latte-Panel between spacers
2. Set the Window Title to display maximum 1500 characters
3. Open 2 different applications (1 with a really long name, and 1 with a
shorter one)
4. Switch between the 2 opened applications

OBSERVED RESULT
You can see that the title icon and name has changed, but the position (or the
displayed characters hasn't). This refresh takes about 0.5 seconds before the
applet adjusts itself to the new title.
