Screenshot of error

SUMMARY
This error pops up whenever I try to get new themes, icon packs, etc.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to System Settings and select themes or icons
2. Click "Get new..." (whichever it is)

OBSERVED RESULT
The error pops up at the bottom of the window. I don't see some items that are
in the KDE Store, like Suru Plus 25 icon pack. Sometimes, it doesn't recognize
that stuff I installed from KDE Store (and sometimes, I can still update).

EXPECTED RESULT
Everything should be there, and I can update icon packs and themes normally.

Bug demo

SUMMARY

Opening any Google Drive file will trigger 4 notifications in total which is a
bit annoying.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any Google Drive file

OBSERVED RESULT
There are two "Examining Finished" notifications. Afterward:
+ If opening app is KDE app, two other "Examining Finished" notifications
appear.
+ If opening app is non-KDE app, two other "Copying Finished" notifications
appear.

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be ideally only one notification or may be none at all. I think
the plasma "loading icon" and the app icon "bouncing" are already enough to
provide visual progress.

[krita] [Bug 399696] Forced close with Internal Error message in kis_shortcut_matcher.cpp, line 557 [USE_QT_XCB]

2019-03-17 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399696

Information about the recent internal errors.

This time around I was using Krita totally in a normal way. The internal error
seems to be occurring at a random fashion. Sometimes within the first few
actions following the opening of a document.

When the internal error is about to happen (but the error popup has not
appeared yet), no operation will be reflected on the canvas, the cursor is
locked in place.

The popup looks like this: https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118858 But
pressing Ignore won't turn Krita usable again. Press Abort will close Krita.
Fortunately the popup is not popping up non-stop, and Krita still listens to
Ctrl+S so I was able to save my progress. However there was one occasion Krita
just crashed after showing signs of internal error but without showing any
message.

Yeah? But I was not sure about whether it has already been solved or not
judging by the recent change log of the nightly build. So I thought leaving a

I will just reopen this. It gets so bad Krita is pretty much too unstable to

[skrooge] [Bug 405578] New: build a nightly debug Skrooge flatpak

2019-03-17 Thread skierpage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405578

Bug ID: 405578
Summary: build a nightly debug Skrooge flatpak
   Product: skrooge
   Version: Trunk from git
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: guillaume.deb...@gmail.com
  Reporter: skierp...@gmail.com
CC: steph...@mankowski.fr
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Skrooge is available at Flathub, but you can't test fixes before a new version
is released.

Many KDE applications have nightly and debug versions available in the
https://distribute.kde.org/kdeapps.flatpakrepo , but not Skrooge.

Skrooge devs have indicated they don't work on Flatpak packaging, but I don't
know where else to make this request. There's a Phabricator project for
Flatpak at https://phabricator.kde.org/project/profile/124/ and I think the
master for the kdeapps repo is in Diffusion at
https://phabricator.kde.org/source/flatpak-kde-applications/repository/master/

The developer of the flatpak recipe at Flathub is happy to share his code, see
https://github.com/flathub/org.kde.skrooge/issues/3

2019-03-17 Thread Luigi Toscano
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405029

To be honest, I'm not sure why removing the support for newstuff should be a
solution. The category is going to stay unless we request its removal, and the
support itself does work - everything discussed so far is about the old
newstuff.kde.org used in the kdelibs 4.x version, not the KF5 version.

The bug report is about "there is nothing on store.kde.org about component X"
and I don't think that adding the support to newstuff only when something is
added to store is the solution - it's a chicken-and-egg problem.

If there is a Classic theme which is not on store.kde.org, we may add it. Do we
have an official "KDE" account on store.kde.org?

Bug ID: 405576
Summary: Pen doesn't click on areas outside canvas with native
drivers or have no pressure with Windows Ink
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: tablet support
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nikola.knezevic@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Since Qt's tablet support is introduced I can't manage my tablet to work in
Krita.
I know that my tablet isn't supported but I managed to make it work with
Official version of Krita 4.1.7 (choosing Windows Ink support in drivers and
Windows 8 + Pointer input in Tablet settings).

1. Tested with Windows ink only Canvas and Scatchpad respond to pen. Pressure
OK. Other controls don't respond or respond after pressing pen for a while and
then button activates and opens a context menu.

2. Tested with native drivers Krita becomes responsive as it should but
pressure doesn't work.

Windows 10 pro 64 PC
XP-pen Decco 01 tablet

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't know is this of any help: PS and Sketchbook work without problems when
Windows Ink is turned on in drivers, but without pressure when turned off.

Just copying and pasting from one Inkscape document to another should work. I
know this is kind of awkward, sorry. In the future, when you're making a new
icon for the Breeze *icon* theme (as opposed to the icons in the Breeze
*Plasma* theme), then you will indeed create a whole new file and submit that.
But for the Breeze Plasma theme, it uses these combined svgz files that each
contain multiple icons, so when adding a new one, you put it next to the
existing icons already in the file.

> I think the submitter should
> be Aleix Pol who needs an icon for his project. I just help with the icon, I
> need to send my first icon to him/she and get some feedback. Thanks for
> helping me with this as I'm very new to this!

That's not exactly the way it works. :) Since you've made the icon, you get to
submit it and claim all the credit once it lands! Aleix will be one of the
patch's reviewers once it's submitted (along with the rest of the KDE VDG
team).

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391134

Specifically, in this case you don't submit a new icon, you edit the original
file, since we're talking about an svgz file that actually contains multiple
icons inside it (svgz files are a bit weird, I know...). You change the
original svgz file in your local clone of the plasma-framework git repo, and
then you follow these instructions to submit it:
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development#Submit_a_patch

FWIW i don't think this is actually fixable given how sandboxing works.

At this point the best solution would probably ignoring the drop if sandboxed.

Adding Jan, he has more experience with flatpak and maybe has an idea on how to
bypass sandboxing here.

Hi!

Thanks for the video. What I *believe* is happening is that your rkward is
getting installed to

   /usr/local/bin/rkward

but you *probably* also have /usr/bin/rkward from an earlier installation.
Thus, when you type "rkward", the old installation will be started. Try "which
rkward", or start as "/usr/local/bin/rkward", explicitly!

[krita] [Bug 405574] New: Autosave doesn't work for new files, saving fails with 'Access Denied' message

2019-03-17 Thread fdbk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405574

Bug ID: 405574
Summary: Autosave doesn't work for new files, saving fails with
'Access Denied' message
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.7
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: File formats
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: comnc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Autosave doesn't work for new files that haven't been saved yet, saving fails
with 'Access Denied' message.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new file
2. Wait for the autosave to happen (depends on your autosave frequency setting)

OBSERVED RESULT
Autosave fails with a message "Error during autosaving:
.krita-6423-document_0-autosave.kra: Access denied, displayed in status bar, or
as a popup in top left corner.
In krita.log file there are following messages:
Converting from application/x-krita to application/x-krita. Location:
C:/Temp\.krita-6423-document_0-autosave.kra. Real location:
C:/Temp\.krita-9824-document_0-autosave.kra. Batchmode: 0. Configuration: none
Completed saving C:/Temp\.krita-6423-document_0-autosave.kra (mime:
application/x-krita). Result: Access is denied.

EXPECTED RESULT
Autosave working normally

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10
Krita: 4.1.7, 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 9ec2737)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Autosave works normally for files that were saved or opened, because it saves
autosave files in that file's folder.
There's no visible error message in 4.2.0-pre-alpha, but it does write messages
to krita.log.

I agree that the translation should go back to Anuluj. Users have been used to
this one in years. Changing it in one program just confuses them.

If someone wants to change the typical translation, it should be done in all
software (at least Open Source) at the same time, I think. We have had a lot of
differences between Gnome and KDE and other translations and it is never to the
good to the user.

Sorry, I misinfored you a little bit: project overview has nothing to do with
the crash, it happens when the file being updated is already opened in the
editor.

The update is done by Python script, which downloads the translations from
server using web API. So, the write operation which triggers the crash is file
write operation from Python's standard library:

with open(target_name, 'w') as output_file:
output_file.write(wl_response.text)

2019-03-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405572

Bug ID: 405572
Summary: font dpi not saved/loaded correctly
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.15.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_fonts
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: tus...@vista.aero
CC: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118866
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118866=edit
low-dpi systemsettings

SUMMARY
Tested on Surface Pro 4. Use systemsettings to set both screen scaling and font
DPI. Re-login and DPI is right for Plasma and applications restored from the
saved session. Newly started applications are with tiny font. Go to
systemsettings again to re-enforce the settings and new apps work right, just
for this session though.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Login from SDDM.
1. System Settings -> Display and Monitor -> Displays -> Scale Display -> Set
scale to `2` -> Apply
2. System Settings -> Fonts -> Fonts -> enable Force Fonts DPI -> set to `192`
-> Apply
3. System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Desktop Session -> On Login ->
choose `Restore previous session`.
4. Close System Settings. Start a Konsole.
5. K-Menu -> Leave -> Logout
6. Re-login from SDDM.
7. Start another Konsole.
8. System Settings -> Fonts -> Disable `Force Fonts DPI` -> Apply -> Enable
`Force Fonts DPI` -> set to `192` -> Apply
9. Restart System Settings.

OBSERVED RESULT
4. The Konsole starts with 192 DPI.
6. Plasma starts with 192 DPI. The Konsole, restored from the last session,
starts with 192 DPI. However, when the cursor moves onto the window decorations
(kwin), the cursor gets smaller than normal. The font size is right though.
7. The newly-started Konsole has tiny font.
8. The System Settings has tiny font.
9. System Settings starts with 192 DPI.

EXPECTED RESULT
All applications should start with 192 DPI, including kwin.

@Luigi so you did move from the old newstuff system to the new store, but it
seems the new store is empty.

Should we either care about it or just remove newstuff support at all given it
doesn't seem to work very well and there's just 1 theme on the old newstuff
system?

Thank you that might be the problem. I tried 'which melt' and received

/usr/bin/which: no melt in
(/home/foveann/.local/bin:/home/foveann/bin:/home/foveann/.local/bin:/home/foveann/bin:/usr/share/Modules/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin)

So I tried 'dnf install mlt' as root and received

Package mlt-6.12.0-5.fc29.x86_64 is already installed.
Package mlt-6.12.0-7.fc29.x86_64 is already installed.
Dependencies resolved.
Nothing to do.
Complete!

So mlt is clearly installed but is there a special path to the 'melt'
binary that I am not aware of? Sorry I'm new to this and require a bit more
hand holding.

Thanks for all your time and help!
