[digikam] [Bug 402894] Display of original image

2019-05-26 Thread Maik Qualmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402894

Hmm, "Save as new image" and BQM (currently not adjustable) create a new
branch, so a new stand-alone image, as a history they have the original image.

The idea is that you want to make adjustments in the editor of an image, color
correction and size crop. With "Save changes" the image is saved as a new
version and if set, the original is hidden. If I eventually need the original,
I can make it visible again. The whole story is not really meant for RAW
images.

[krita] [Bug 407978] New: Popup palette closes instantly with stylus

2019-05-26 Thread Storm Engineer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407978

Bug ID: 407978
Summary: Popup palette closes instantly with stylus
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: storm.ant...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Just built master. When my Wacom stylus' button is used as right click to open
the popup palette, it will instantly close again unless I try my best to make
the button click as quick as possible.

If the button is held down the palette stays until the button is released -
however if the stylus is moved while the button is held, the palette will
randomly close and open again.

It does not happen with regular mouse click.

This issue was not present in my previous build from about a week ago.

Currently gamut mask selection and rotation are not saved. In order to be able
to continue work on the same file consistently, both the selected mask and its
rotation should be saved into the Krita file.

Without this the only way to ensure consistency between work sessions is by
writing the selection and rotation down and manually restoring it.

[kdenetwork-filesharing] [Bug 407975] New: Ensure correct permissions when trying to create a share of a folder in the user's homedir

2019-05-26 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407975

Bug ID: 407975
Summary: Ensure correct permissions when trying to create a
share of a folder in the user's homedir
   Product: kdenetwork-filesharing
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: n...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

In order to create Samba shares in the user's home directory, the whole home
folder needs to have execute permissions for "other" (see
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Using_Samba_in_your_File_Manager#Sharing_In_The_Home_Directory)

So when the user is trying to share a folder in their homedir, we should take
care of this automatically, or else it will just fail with no indication of
why.

In addition, we should display a warning that sharing a folder in your homedir
can potentially open you up to security issues.

There is no such thing as "hover" with a touch device. There's just variants of
"tap". What you're describing is a tap-and-drag geature and it's not
appropriate for that to map to hover. What about views that are scrollable?

The higher-level problem here is that many of our apps as well as Plasma itself
are poorly-optimized for touch. We're quite aware of this. What would be more
helpful is to file specific bugs for apps and places where better touch support
is needed. Thanks!

When using an Arch-based distro and the update process displays a log viewer in
the bottom of the window, its scrollview continuously scrolls to the bottom
automatically. This makes it impossible to scroll up to view prior messages
while the process is still underway, because the moment you scroll up it
scrolls the view back to the bottom again. It's very annoying.

The scrollview should only automatically scroll to the bottom if it's *already*
showing the bottom/latest line.

I thought Baloo was OK with file _130422.vr.jpg, while _130355.vr.jpg caused
the crash. Perhaps `balooctl monitor` reports this is the next file to index
but baloo_file_extractor has crashed so it never starts on this file. Or maybe
this panorama also caused a crash. Fedora 30 KDE spin has updated me to 5.58 so
it's hard for me to reproduce.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 407972] New: baloo_file doesn't recover from baloo_file_extractor crash

2019-05-26 Thread skierpage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407972

Bug ID: 407972
   Summary: baloo_file doesn't recover from baloo_file_extractor
crash
   Product: frameworks-baloo
   Version: 5.57.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Baloo File Daemon
  Assignee: baloo-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: skierp...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a file that triggers a crash in baloo_file_extractor in KDE Frameworks
5.57 and below (bug 404565). After this, baloo_file doesn't recover. It remains
stuck, never indexing another file until I kill it or balooctl disable then
balooctl enable. Meanwhile balooctl status reports nothing wrong.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run balooctl monitor &
1. Trigger the crash (bug 405017 comment 4 points to a file that triggers it).
2. Let DrKonqi close the process.
3. Run balooctl status
4. Run ps
5. Try to recover

OBSERVED RESULT
After the baloo_file_extractor program exits, the baloo_file process continues
to run. But it never updates more files and can't spawn another
baloo_file_extractor.
$ balooctl status
Baloo File Indexer is running
Indexer state: Indexing file content
Indexed 27987 / 29422 files
Current size of index is 324.04 MiB

$ ps alx -w -w | grep baloo
F UID PID PPID PRI NIVSZ RSS WCHAN STAT TTYTIME COMMAND
  0 1000 1556 1 39 19 268871752 11968 x64_sy SNl ?0:04

/usr/libexec/baloorunner
  ...

Note: baloo_file_extractor has crashed.

$ balooctl monitor
  Press ctrl+c to stop monitoring
  File indexer is running
  Indexing file content
  Indexing: /path/to/problem/file/PANO_20190217_130422.vr.jpg

EXPECTED RESULT
baloo_file should recover from baloo_file_extractor crashing. balooctl status
should report there's a problem.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
balooctl stop then balooctl start has no effect. You have to kill the
baloo_file process, then balooctl start.

Hello Maik,

I know, but nowhere in the file besides the change date was the date shown
found.

I added a file where this problem occurs. I also changed the changed date with
a tool to match the file creation and shooting date but still shows up with the
wrong date. I updated and restarted digikam aswell.
So I'm a bit confused where digicam takes this date from. And I assume it's
also not just GUI error as the sorting algorithem also uses this date to sort
the photos and so they don't come out in chronological order.

kind regards
benjamin

[digikam] [Bug 402894] Display of original image

2019-05-26 Thread Dirk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402894

let me phrase it different...
In general I have the option to display the original image or not and I can
toggle this within version tab on the right side bar (small icon).
But it depends on the way a new version is created if it works. If I create
from the editor with "save changes" this works, but if I have saved with "save
as new version" this does not work - although the icon exists I can not hide
the original image. The same is true for new versions that are created via
batch.
I could accept a different default behaviour, but it is completely unclear to
me why it is not possible to hide the original image only because the new
version is created on a different way.

regards
Dirk

   Product: kpat
   Version: 3.6
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: solver
  Assignee: co...@kde.org
  Reporter: et...@tague.me
CC: kde-games-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The hint system, at least in the case of Klondike, will suggest moves that will
put the game into an unwinnable state.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Begin a game of Klondike
2. Play to the point where a move could be made that makes the game unwinnable
according to the solver, and where the hint system suggests a poor move
3. Press 'hint'
4. Follow the movement the hint suggests

OBSERVED RESULT

Following suggested movement causes the solver to immediately report that the
game is no longer solvable.

EXPECTED RESULT

Hint system should verify that the hint given does not put the game into an
unwinnable state, and if so, provide an alternative hint.

That came out wrong - I meant that you have to cancel out of the editor since
pressing "OK" (re-)triggers the problem.

[korganizer] [Bug 407965] New: Applying two changes in a row in the event editor fails with "Only resources can modify remote identifiers"

2019-05-26 Thread Rickard Westman
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407965

Bug ID: 407965
Summary: Applying two changes in a row in the event editor
fails with "Only resources can modify remote
identifiers"
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.7.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: incidence editors
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rwest...@bredband.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The event editor UI allows you to apply a change immediately by pressing
"Apply". But if you make more than one change without closing the editor
in-between, the second one fails with an error dialog. You then have to cancel
out of the dialog to exit it. This happens whether you try to apply the second
change using the "Apply" button or the "OK" button.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press "New Event..." button and edit the Title field to say "Test"
2. Press "Apply"
3. Edit the Title field to say "Foo".
4. Press "Apply".

OBSERVED RESULT

An error dialog appears after the last step. The title is "Sorry - KOrganizer"
and the message text is:

"Error while trying to modify calendar item. Error was: Only resources can
modify remote identifiers"

When you click OK, you get a warning dialog saying "Unable to store the
incidence in the calendar. Try again?". If you try again, the first error
dialog will show again. It is possible to work around the bug by exiting the
event editor, selecting the event created in step 2 for modification, and then
redoing steps 3 to 4.

EXPECTED RESULT

I expected to be able to make many edits to an event, pressing "Apply" after
each one, without getting the errors dialogs described.

[kwin] [Bug 407221] Random KWin hang on VirtualDesktop RefCount

I'm getting similar, frequent hangs with the kubuntu beta PPA (which claims to
be KWin 5.15.90), which appear to point to an infinite loop somewhere in
KWin::Placement::placeSmart(). This only ever occurs when a new window is being
opened, though I've never been able to get it to work consistently.

I haven't seen a stacktrace that goes as far as the VirtualDesktop RefCount
thus far, but have seen them in AbstractClient::isCurrentTab(). It seems to
mostly occurs just in the KWin::Placement::placeSmart() function directly.

Note that this didn't occur with the normal Kubuntu 19.04 build of KWin (which
seems to be 5.15.4).

Alas, I don't have full debug symbols available at the moment, but here's an
example stacktrace anyway:

Hi there!
Which .exe did you run to fire up KDEConnect? If it is kdeconnect-indicator.exe
then it **should** show up in the taskbar with a black coloured icon(TODO
white).
Also, how did you get the KDEConnect installed in your system? If it was a
setup file, could you share the link to it?
The notifications (including the one which has the "Accept" button) are busted
on the official build of KDEConnect on Windows for now; you will have a better
experience after about a couple weeks from now :)

SUMMARY

Salut,

The "Artist" tab is useless for me, because the metadata in my music collection
are to good. Each album contains tons of different artists, because the artist
field include featuring, instead each tracks in a album use the same "Album
artist" field and fallback to the "Artist" field in case "Album artist" doesn't
exist.

My proposal is to create a Album Artists tab or change how the Artist tab
behave.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Elisa
2. Open Artist tab

OBSERVED RESULT
See Artist A feat Artist 1, Artist A feat. Artist 2, Artist B feat. Artist 2,
etc.

EXPECTED RESULT
See Artist A, Artist B
