[plasmashell] [Bug 408674] New: Plasma 5.16 causing graphical glitches and corruptions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408674 Bug ID: 408674 Summary: Plasma 5.16 causing graphical glitches and corruptions Product: plasmashell Version: 5.16.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: ch...@magentium.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY: After upgrading to Plasma 5.16 last night, the system has become sluggish and unresponsive. Any animation which includes a Fade or Blur seems to flicker whilst completing the animation, and the Blur created by Latte Dock, Konsole, and Menu bars is over saturated causing extremely dark backgrounds. Disabling Fading popups causes the animations of windows to be a little better, and the issue with the Background Blur only seems to occur if KVantum is used. Changing the window type from KVantum back to Breeze and rebooting seems to fix the Blur issues, but the animations are still extremely jagged and not smooth at all. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux with Plasma 5.16.0 running on 5.1.9.arch1-1 kernel (but kernel change makes no difference) using the built in modset drivers for Intel HD 620 Graphics. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - I've attempted to re-install the Plasma 5.16 packages, but this didn't change anything. I've also cleared the .cache folder, but this also did not fix the fault. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

So you could asking why develop this feature if already exist similar extensions for the translate unknow words of foreign languages like demonstrate in this another video[2], well this extension works only in browsers as I know at least, still not exist an feature to translate words of any application of your system like okular, libreoffice writer and so on, well my point is if this feature its add to the project students of another language will learn foreign languages with more easing without open a browser to translate unknow words. Final thoughts: off couse that I asking for this feature cause the developers od kde team can add more feature such select the destination language to translate the text or maybe add the meaning of the words and so on. I hope that if my idea is not chosen this time at least this idea could be used in a close future, thanks for your time. [plasmashell] [Bug 408665] New: KDE plasma desktop crash while formatting usb drive to ntfs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408665 Bug ID: 408665 Summary: KDE plasma desktop crash while formatting usb drive to ntfs Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: Desktop Containment Assignee: se...@kde.org Reporter: b.raz...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 120850 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120850=edit Traceback log of desktop crash SUMMARY I'm not exactly sure what caused the desktop to crash, as I had several applications running, including konsole, firefox, dolphin, and gnome-disk-utility, which I was using to format a usb thumbdrive to store some files. I am running kubuntu 19.04 and I am fully up to date with all available software updates. I have not been using kubuntu very long, only having it installed about a week, and in that time I have not experienced any bugs using the gnome-disk-util to format any other partitions or mount storage etc. The reason for using this usbdrive is because my unencrypted windows ntfs partition will not mount in RW, even when running mount in konsole as su, but, its possible that the cause is my current dual-boot setup, I may have made a mistake setting it up. Although, it also seems like kubuntu may have a problem with ntfs in general. To get back to the topic at hand, please see the attached system traceback for more precise information about the issue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE (possibly?) 1. On an up-to-date 19.04 kde desktop 2. Install and run gnome-disk-utility 3. Attempt to format a usb thumbdrive to ntfs OBSERVED RESULT The desktop began to flicker and fade midway through the formatting process, it was very obvious that it was experiencing an error. The desktop eventually stopped flickering and killed its process, and it started back-up quickly without error, displaying the crash notification in the system tray. Although, it seems like it formatted my usb alright, as I was able to store files on it afterwards. EXPECTED RESULT The desktop not doing that. [kwin] [Bug 408639] Very high CPU usage on first core from KWin and Xorg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408639 --- Comment #1 from Rafał --- I was able to reproduce the issue, it happens when CPU or GPU is under heavy load and the temperature is high. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408632 --- Comment #3 from bugsh...@mailinator.com --- Can confirm it used to work as expected in 5.15, only encountered this issue after an upgrade to 5.16. Looking at the referenced bug, perhaps this behavior should be limited to the `file` protocol - I'm assuming it was unintentional to have this apply to HTTP/FTP/etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
