[okular] [Bug 409013] Fix background color and frame of search result
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409013 --- Comment #12 from Thomas Bingel --- Professor Sanders from the TU Dresden you are very disappointing! You did not even answer my questions in my last comment to you! Your last outright commentary is quite foolish! Given your last commentary, I truly doubt that you even comprehended what the issue is about. Let me try to explain the issue with an example so that even a professor can understand it: Let's assume we have a 12 page typical research paper as PDF. You have extensively highlighted in yellow about 20 passages (partial paragraphs, whole sentences, part of sentences etc.) throughout the document. Then you want to search for a frequently occurring term in that paper. Several of the highlighted passage also contain the search term, occasionally more than once per highlighted passage. Try that professor! You are so smart aleck that it is almost shocking! Can you imagine that I used to program in C# (not C++) and in Oracle SQL. Currently, I am learning Python and machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. If you already know which source file and lines of code that need to be modified to fix this issue why don't you tell Albert Astals Cid? Or do it yourself. We could long done with it! Meanwhile, I have attached here a screen shot showing that this issue is even more severe than I had previously described here. Tell me if you can easily identify on the screen shot where the search function found the search term, i.e. cls, on the picture? Professor Sanders you are pathetic let me tell you! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krunner] [Bug 409107] New: [FEATURE REQUEST] Allow to run commands with environment variables
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409107 Bug ID: 409107 Summary: [FEATURE REQUEST] Allow to run commands with environment variables Product: krunner Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: herzensch...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Often when I need to take screenshots of applications or verify the name of a menu option in English I use LANG=C applicationname. Typing commands to open applications from the terminal instead of KRunner has two distinct disadvantages: 1) Opening an application from a terminal means opening an application to open another application, unlike Kickoff and KRunner, which are typically already present. 2) Commands (and their corresponding applications) are bound to the terminal, and as such the user needs to either create a new terminal instance for each application or add an & to the end of the command if one doesn't want to keep the terminal open afterwards. KRunner does not have these disadvantages. It would be fairly convenient and quicker to run commands using environment variables in KRunner. As for implementation, I think that although not discoverable at all, being able to use environment variables inline (LANG=C applicationname) is very flexible as it would allow to easily and quickly use another environment variable value for each application, whereas being able to set environment variables prior to running commands (similarly to KCron) is pretty discoverable but not as flexible, as it would require going to a specific, dedicated section first in order to change an environment variable, which would be applied to all applications run by KRunner. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Video can get us up to a centain point, however I see you are running krita from compiled sources… Let me ask the other devs, maybe we can come up with a patch for you to compile krita with that could give us some insight on what is going on and perhaps come up with a solution. [konqueror] [Bug 373824] Konqueror 16.12 is missing the sidebar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373824 --- Comment #37 from insaner --- I ran git clone git://anongit.kde.org/konqueror So I have the latest source, and saw there are some cmake files, and from memory I think the way to do it is "mkdir build; cd build; cmake ../src" Which gives me the error: CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:24 (ecm_qt_declare_logging_category): Unknown CMake command "ecm_qt_declare_logging_category". So I'm stuck. I'm ready to rock, I just need some help getting all set up (and someone to tell me at least a couple of pointer on how to start hacking away at this). I've joined #kde-devel on freenode irc. (I figure this bug report is not the place for this sort of discussion.. if someone could please point me in the right direction for where the right place to discuss is, that would be much appreciated!) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[konqueror] [Bug 373824] Konqueror 16.12 is missing the sidebar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373824 --- Comment #36 from insaner --- It is summer 2019, and I was just forced to do a big upgrade on my machine, and find myself running into this bug. I'm not sure if there has been any coding underway to bring back the sidebar, but I would like to drop my 2 cents: 1- Konqueror is THE killer app. There is no other app I rely on more for my productivity than Konqueror. I use gnome (well, Mate, technically as of last year or so) and have been using Konqueror as my file browser since the KDE 3.5 days, I believe. Nothing, nothing at all comes close to what Konqueror does. I personally don't use it as a browser except under really dire circumstances when all other browsers (chrome, firefox) are completely broken and unusable, ie, only in emergencies. So the browser functionality was only ever just extra for me. I can't say it enough, Konqueror always stood as everything I needed in a file manager and more. It's always the first app I make sure to have installed if I need to do anything graphical (as opposed to text/cli). So my hat is firmly tipped to you, David Faure, and anyone else that contributed code. 2- To answer the question of how we use the sidebar: Besides the already mentioned "tree view" (which I couldn't figure out how to do the workaround you suggest), for the reasons already mentioned (ie: incredibly fast and efficient file navigation), I use the sidebar to do mounts of USB drives or removables (SATA removable drives). All I have ("had" .. *cry*) to do was to click on the little entry in the sidebar and konqueror took care of the udisks mount, everything, including navigating me right to it. That, with the infinite window splitting, seamless drag-drop into sftp, etc, just made my life so easy. In summary, Konqueror stands next to software like blender, firefox, thunderbird and a terminal emulator (I just now discovered konsole, and am blown away too!) as the standard for how to do the linux desktop. I miss my sidepane, and am willing to help code, debug, test, whatever is needed. I might end up trying to figure out how to compile the old konqueror in the meantime, to bring my productivity back to acceptable levels. A huge thank you to everyone for giving us Konqueror. I hope I can be of some help. (Where /do/ I get the old code from? Is it possible to compile the old Konqueror and run it side-by-side with the new one somehow?) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 379174] Wacom Tablet support with Krita on Gnome/Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379174 --- Comment #16 from Peter Hutterer --- Apologies for the delay, this slipped through. > art-pen stylus rotation and airbrush side-pressure switch we use valuator > with XCB atom "Abs Wheel". Quick check of the xf86-input-libinput source code: the airbrush slider is initialized with "Abs Throttle" and the artpen rotation from this bug report is "Abs Rotary Z". I suggest adding those to the Krita code - the reason for the mismatch is that the xf86-input-wacom driver didn't set up tools on demand, so multiple different things shared one axis label. That's for when you're running on pure X, not Wayland, and you're using the xf86-input-libinput driver instead of the wacom driver for tablets. As for Xwayland, it seems to set the atoms equivalent to the wacom driver, and the axis ranges as well. so I'm not sure why this doesn't work. Afaict the code is all there. However, while the transactions and accounts are migrated properly, the currencies of each account are not. The gnucash data attached is obfuscated. It contains ~20k transactions. The import itself is reasonably quick, but after choosing the base currency, the MyMoneyStorageMgr::transactionCount() is painfully slow. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Import GnuCash file 2. You can skip the base currency selection to avoid the slow tranasactionCount() OBSERVED RESULT If you choose the base currency at import time, all accounts will end up having the same base currency set. If you skip the base currency selection, the accounts will display the transactions and summaries all with an unspecified denomination. Right-clicking on each of them will reveal the currency box greyed-out and set to HRK, but HRK does not show up next to any value on any of the views. The currency itself seems random, too: I do have one or two accounts denominated in HRK, but the majority is USD and PLN. EXPECTED RESULT The accounts to have their currencies correctly migrated. Note that that although this looks similar to bug #347772, it isn't the same bug. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have 2 users logged into X 2. In user1's session: sleep 5 ; kscreenlocker_greet 3. Immediately switch to user2 with e.g. OBSERVED RESULT After 5 seconds, user1's kscreenlocker_greet process starts and immediately consumes 100% CPU. 100% CPU is also used if that user's kscreenlocker_greet process is started automatically by plasma when the idle period expires, provided that I've already switched to another user. This is 100% reproducible for me. If I lock screen manually or run e.g. kscreenlocker_greet --graceTime 5000 then everything is fine. Although I'm running debian testing (libkscreenlocker5 5.14.5-1), I've also tried downloading the latest source of kscreenlocker/greeter from git. Adding ProfilerStart()/ProfilerStop() from Google's perf tools around app.exec() in main.cpp of greeter hasn't been very useful as it appears that CPU is being used somewhere in QSGBatchRenderer::Renderer::renderMergedBatch() which seems to be calling _nv023glcore() (somewhere in Nvidia's driver presumably). I'm assuming the problem is that something is trying to access the display, but can't, because it's being used by another user. However, as this could be quite common in a multi-user setup, perhaps there's something different about the way kscreenlocker_greet does it? EXPECTED RESULT kscreenlocker_greet should use <1% CPU. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409020 --- Comment #6 from adamska...@gmail.com --- That's really interesting. I'm definitely not on Wayland, so I don't understand what the problem could be. I log in to the default "Plasma" session from SDDM. I'm using the KDE repos for opensuse 15.1 listed here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories which means I'm basically on what the opensuse team calls 'opensuse argon' just with Leap 15.1. I've never had any other issues before with this method back through opensuse 15.0. Only now after upgrading to Plasma 5.16.1 has it broken Discover. The only thing that should cause problems by using the up-to-date KDE packages is that some 3rd party packages meant for Leap 15.1 may be broken, since they'd be compiled against an older version of Qt. However Discover is maintained through those repos anyway and are perfectly compatible. [kmymoney] [Bug 408353] account list presented for import now includes too many (can't import checking data into investment account)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408353 --- Comment #1 from Jack --- Actually I just discovered that you CAN import checking transactions into an investment account. I was importing an investment account (KMM OFX online import) and accidentally selected the investment account instead of the brokerage account for the cash part, and for dividend transactions, the "deposit" became a "buy shares." Once I realized what had happened, when I edited the Dividend transaction, and correctly specified the brokerage account (instead of it being the same investment account) the "buy" transaction (appropriately) disappeared. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[frameworks-kunitconversion] [Bug 409077] Unit Converter to comma-separate large values
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409077 --- Comment #3 from Philip Murray --- Making it display as per the regional norm sounds sensible. Using spaces sound decent too. UK uses commas for thousands and full stops for decimals, hence my wish for it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kate] [Bug 397563] Menu of "most recently/frequently used" modes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397563 --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- Not quite. That patch made the syntax highlighting radically better for sure, but it didn't add a "recently used" or "frequently used" view. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Touchpad-KCM] [Bug 395722] touchpad settings are wrong after resuming from suspend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395722 --- Comment #17 from Nate Graham --- This was fixed ages ago. [kmymoney] [Bug 390681] OFX import and unrecognized tag
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390681 --- Comment #13 from Thomas Baumgart --- The per account setting is available for online mapped accounts. The problem for all other imports is, that the current processing reads the file and converts it into a general MyMoneyStatement file which is independent from the source format (QIF, OFX, ...) before the account is selected. The setting though is needed in the first step. This order has been chosen, because with some formats the account can be chosen automatically. So its more of chicken-and-egg problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
