succeeded.
Thanks, it's good to be over this hump.
I disabled building of Qt by following this tip:

If your Linux distribution provides a recent version of Qt (5.11 or newer), you
can save some time and disk space and use that version instead of building your
own. To configure kdesrc-build to skip building Qt, open the configuration file
~/.kdesrc-buildrc and comment out the qtdir and two include lines related to
qt5.

[yakuake] [Bug 414049] New: Yakuake window can be maximised with keyboard shortcut, then stays maximised

2019-11-11 Thread Frank Steinmetzger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414049

Bug ID: 414049
Summary: Yakuake window can be maximised with keyboard
shortcut, then stays maximised
   Product: yakuake
   Version: 3.0.5
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: war...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Good day,

I assigned the shortcut Super+Y (German Layout, so on English Layout it’s
Super+Z) to open Yakuake. I also set Super+X to maximise the active window.

Those two letters are right next to each other on the keyboard. Sometimes I hit
the wrong key or press both Y and X accidentally. As a result, Yakuake opens up
and maximises (normally, it is about 60 % wide and 30 % high). Now it is stuck
at this screen-filling size. When I close and reopen it with Super+Y, it stays
at that size. It also does not revert to its original size after pressing
Super+X again (which usually un-maximises maximised windows).

In this situation, I have to open Yakuake’s settings and re-set the sliders for
window width and height back from 100 %.

What is your opinion: I would like Yakuake to not react to the Maximise command
and stay where it is designed to be. On a sidenote, I can also resize the
Yakuake window with Alt+RMB, which causes layout issues in the window. But this
time, a cycle of hiding and showing the window re-establishes the preset size.

Is there a way to completely disable resize events for the window, so that only
Yakuake’s own settings may alter the window dimensions?

Thanks for your time.

[plasmashell] [Bug 414045] Setting panel height with scroll wheel has wrong hysteresis-like behavior

2019-11-11 Thread Frank Steinmetzger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414045

Addendum: I’m not sure how to describe it. I want to achieve the smallest panel
height at which the Task Switcher icons are shown at a specific size.

So I was slowly scrolling from the bottom up. And then I noticed that even
though the panel size increased, the icons in the task switcher applet shrunk.

Also, the lower edge of the panel is not fixed to the bottom edge pixel of the
screen. It appears to move up and down. If required I could attempt a video
capture of it.

[plasmashell] [Bug 414045] New: Setting panel height with scroll wheel has wrong hysteresis-like behavior

2019-11-11 Thread Frank Steinmetzger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414045

Bug ID: 414045
Summary: Setting panel height with scroll wheel has wrong
hysteresis-like behavior
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.17.2
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: war...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: 1.0

I just discovered that I could change the height of a plasma panel with the
scroll wheel. Yay for that, because my old mouse is a bit twitchy when moving
pixel-by-pixel.

But I found a little bug along the way: when I change direction of scrolling,
the change in size follows suit one event later. I.o.w.:

Actual result:
10 I scroll up, the panel size increases with each scroll event.
20 I scroll down, the size increases one more time.
30 I scroll down again, now the size decreases.
40 I scroll up, the size decreases one more time.
50 GOTO 10

Expected result:
- The change of size should follow the scroll direction immediately. :)

My versions are Plasma workspace 5.17.2, Qt 5.12.5, KDE 19.04.3.

Starting to look at this a bit more...I don't know if we even want to be
showing the dockers all here. We already have another way to see all the
dockers that is only an extra click away (which is already alphabetized. This
right click area probably should be used for something better than just showing
the docker list again.

[gwenview] [Bug 413250] Gwenview : No fading transition

2019-11-11 Thread Lapineige
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413250

Another information: CPU usage for Gwenview process is quite high when I change
the displayed image (and thus trigger a transition).
And indeed, it seems laggy and takes its time to display the new image. It
doesn't seem to be caused by the storage (which is fast enough).

Maybe it does indicate that the CPU is used instead of OpenGL (hence the GPU)
for the transition ?

This works here with the patch I linked. Just patching the repository and
installing it is not sufficient, the *browser* extension needs to be patched.

Please see the guide [1], paragraph "For using the extension from source code".

2019-11-11 Thread Allen Winter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412751

I don't know how to reproduce.
My events don't contain VTIMEZONE components when I create them.

I'm convinced that libical 3.0.6 is printing the "RRULE:ERROR: No Value" but I
need to know if the problem is in libical itself, or the way kcalendarcore is
using libical. The only way to know I can debug this is knowing how to
reproduce.

is this somehow specific to caldav? or maybe I need to use a specific
timezone?

Git commit 9001925a05953d128417756780c461c656e9de2e by Ralf Habacker.
Committed on 11/11/2019 at 21:46.
Pushed by habacker into branch 'release/19.12'.

Fix 'Classifier unit case not enabled'

One problem was that comparing the list address of contained objects
in UMLCanvasObject is incorrect. Instead, each object in this list
must be compared. Also, the comparison of UMLClassifier pointers
does not seem to give the desired result.

Unimplemented tests are now skipped to avoid aborting the test.

Hi, when saving a file in ktuberling, the .tuberling extension isn't added
automatically.

So later on if one opens the file open dialog, that file isn't shown.

But if one manually adds filename.tuberling when saving the file, then it
properly gets saved.

Observed in Ubuntu 18.04 and 19.10.

Thank you.

This crash behaviour seems to occur only with the 'startup and shutdown'. I
tried other icons in the main screen but those don't make system settings crash
when I open them a second time.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413886

OH MY GOD, the reset changing kdenliverc to kdenliverc.old fixed the problem!
Dunno how the hell that works, but it works great now so whatever lol. I
would've NEVER known to do that to fix the issue.

I really appreciate all of ya'll helping me out, and sorry for dragging this on
longer than necessary. I just had a whole project I'd been working on for a
while, and I didn't want to have to abandon it.

If anything else goes awry then I'll post a different bug report. Thanks again!

[kmail2] [Bug 414038] New: Whitespace in quoted lines not preserved, so some ASCII drawings are messed up.

2019-11-11 Thread David Hurka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414038

Bug ID: 414038
Summary: Whitespace in quoted lines not preserved, so some
ASCII drawings are messed up.
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: david.hu...@mailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
KMail’s message viewer detects quote markers > and |, but simplifies all
following whitespace to a single space, so ASCII drawings are messed up when
they contain > or |.

So, KMail simplifies some whitespace in quotes. Is that neccessary? It doesn’t
simplify whitespace outside quotes.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a message like:
>
> / \
> Rope / /\ \
> / / \ \
> / / __ \ \
> | \ Wheel / |
>a | \ / | a
> A\/V

2. Open in message viewer.

OBSERVED RESULT
Whitespace after quote markers simplified:
>
> / \
> Rope / /\ \
> / / \ \
> / / __ \ \
> | \ Wheel / |
> a | \ / | a
> A\/V
> |

EXPECTED RESULT
Whitespace within quote preserved

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon 5.17
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0
Qt Version: 5.13.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Detecting quote markers after some whitespace was already topic in Bug 403976.

2019-11-11 Thread emohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413886

Could you do a reset following this steps:
https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Windows_Issues#Cannot_open_projects_made_with_previous_version.2C_timeline_snaps_back.2C_cannot_import_clip.
And try to load the project file afterwards.

If this is not solving the issue it could be an openGL issue ("cannot place
image to the timeline"). Let me know the Win10 version, CPU and graphic card
you have and which driver version.

Could you test the following: download the latest nightly build
https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_mingw64/. Take the top file
which ends with .7z.

Unpack it -> goto the bin folder and double click Kdenlive.exe (no installation
needed). Try to load your project file.

If it fails -> goto settings -> OpenGL Backend -> try with different settings
(changing the OpenGL setting force a restart of Kdenlive). Try to load your
project after each change.

agenda/agenda.cpp - grid colors when not using system settings

this addresses https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411608
which refers to a much older KOrganizer version 5.9.2.

Newer KOrganizer handles grid color (computed from the
windowtext) just fine when using system settings; but,
not when using customer background colors. With this
patch we fix that.

The bug report requested a custom configuration for the
grid color. The UX team doesn't want that and requested
to remove the ability for custom colors completely.
That's a different thread and a different fight.

This is on our radar and indeed we can take advantage of Qt fixing
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-66008.
We have a benevolent developer that is willing to implement this, when he gets
time to work on it but we still have to wait for Qt 5.14 to be released (end of
November) and become Plasma dependency.
This won't be the case for Plasma 5.18 as it will be an LTS version based on Qt
5.12 LTS.
You can see our current progress on this at https://phabricator.kde.org/T11601
