[krita] [Bug 416849] New: Lag happened in alternatin the hand tool and brush tool
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416849 Bug ID: 416849 Summary: Lag happened in alternatin the hand tool and brush tool Product: krita Version: 4.2.7.1 Platform: Windows CE OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: samuel.lostiousn...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Using a brush tool and using the navigator/ clicking any sidebar tools will lag the usage of [space] or hand tool used to navigate the canvas better, thus will deliberately stain the canvas while trying to scroll down. There is a minimum 3 seconds if waited idly to let the cursor change to hand tool while space is already been pressed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. using a brush 2. clicking navigator slider 3. alternating by pressing [space] to trigger hand tool 4. hand tool will not commence, it will go back to brush tool OBSERVED RESULT even when [space] had already been pressed, it needs 3 seconds to let it tirgger manually, or else alternating against another tool EXPECTED RESULT after the [space] is pressed, the hand tool should immediately trigger, not costing time or worse, smearing the canvas with unintended brush tool SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 School Version macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 403643] Okular stops rendering PDF and uses up 100% cpu (possible regression)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403643 --- Comment #19 from Tobias Deiminger --- (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #18) > The timer is not the problem, that timer gets triggered quite easily and > doesn't infinite loop. > > The problem is that sometimes it seems to infinite loop, so yeah, no idea :D Just thought about scenarios how such an inifte loop could occur. All can be ruled out by attached backtraces: - isFinished never signaled - can be ruled out: If TextPageGenerationThread ran forever, TextPageGenerationThread::run would be on stack, but it's not. If the thread exited non-gracefully (i.e. abort()/SIGABRT), the whole program would have crashed, but it did not. - textpageGenerationFinished() never called - can be ruled out: It's connected to finished(), then same reasons as above apply. - textpageGenerationFinished() called, but QMutexLocker blocking forever - can be ruled out: textpageGenerationFinished is called in main thread via QueuedConnection, so the lock() would be visible on Thread 1 stack, and more, the mutex would also block the single shot timer, which is obviously not the case. After that I see no possibility for an infinite loop. How about generatePixmap simply being called very frequently in regular ways, then hitting the singleShot sometimes (but leaving it again), misleading us? I'll try to reproduce in kubuntu 19.10. Other ways of debugging could be to collect more data by means of a remotely executed gdb script or even a remote gdb session. But both have severe privacy/security implications, so I'm not sure if we could even suggest this to bug reporters. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 416841] New: Media keys stop working after default player is selected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416841 Bug ID: 416841 Summary: Media keys stop working after default player is selected Product: plasmashell Version: 5.17.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Media Player Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: sephiroth...@hotmail.it CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY I have been witnessing a weird behaviour where Plasma stops recognising media keys and needs to be restarted in order for them to work correctly. I just found out this is consistently reproducible when manually setting the default player. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. use media keys while multiple players, say Deadbeef and plasma-browser-integration, are open: they work correctly (though the wrong player is often selected). 2. manually select Deadbeef OBSERVED RESULT Media keys stop working. EXPECTED RESULT Media keys keep on working even after the user selects the default player. The timer is not the problem, that timer gets triggered quite easily and doesn't infinite loop. [digikam] [Bug 380336] Suggested improvements of Face Tagging
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380336 --- Comment #10 from MarcP --- Just chiming in, there is an issue here that tagged faces can exist outside the "People" tree dir. Animals, for example. So hiding anything but "People" doesn't seem like a good idea at first. Also, if pictures with faces are imported, and that other person used Digikam in another language, instead of "People" it would be the equivalent in their language. So, for instance, you would see "People", and "Personnes", both containing faces. I personally believe that People shouldn't be part of the general tag tree, but maybe a separate list, and it the word "People" shouldn't be a tag in itself, in order to to avoid what I just mentioned with the language. But I don't think that would be easy to achieve. Bug 392008 is related to this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 416812] keyboard input useless
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416812 --- Comment #2 from steven myers --- Hi - thanks for reaching out. This is very frustrating... I don't have this issue with any other apps on Ubuntu. I had a similar issue with Microsoft's VS-Code, but fixed it by changing its keyboard setting from "Code" to "keyCode". I know this is entirely unrelated, however I mention only to point out that I was looking all over in Kate for a similar setting, unsuccessfully. It occurred to me that perhaps its trying to use a German/DE keyboard mapping or something, but even [BackSpace] doesn't workand I could generate any German-Code PAge characters or anything...the key mapping doesn't follow any logical order. Is there perhaps a US/English build/version somewhere that is know to work? Perhaps a prior version that is know to be stable/working for US keyboards? Lastly, sorry but I don't know what "Qt" is. To my knowledge I don't have any other Qt appsI'm able to use Gedit with no issues, Chrome, Firefox, VS-Code, Terminal and File Manager. I'm using the Bitnami LAMP stack on an AWS virtual machine/instance. I'm using the XFCE GUI running over RDP/port 3389. The only other app I have not been able to get working is the Atom editor, it won't even start due to display issues. Kate starts OK but has the aforementioned key/mapping issues. regards, Steve On Mon, Jan 27, 2020 at 2:18 PM Christoph Cullmann wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416812 > > Christoph Cullmann changed: > >What|Removed |Added > > > CC||cullm...@kde.org > > --- Comment #1 from Christoph Cullmann --- > I am sorry that this happens for you. > But I can't reproduce this. > Does input doesn't work in Kate only or other Qt applications, too (e.g. > Konsole, Dolphin, ...)? > > -- > You are receiving this mail because: > You reported the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 416744] Changes are not saved after deleting face rectangle from picture
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416744 --- Comment #6 from MarcP --- Ok, I finally found out what was happening, because sometimes when deleting faces changes were saved, and other weren't. It turns out the problem only arises when there is a duplicated face rectangle in a picture. In my case, I was deleting duplicated face rectangles that appeared as a consequence of re-scanning the images when Bug 372340 was present, so everyone had two face rectangles, a "landscape" one, and a "portrait" one (because of the incorrect rotation of the picture), where one of them was usually pointing at the sky or another background element. Let' say there are two Person 1 and one Person 2 rectangles in an image (use attached file as an example). If you delete the face of Person 2, changes will be written (Item/re-read metadata, just to confirm this). If you delete a face of Person 1 (any of them), changes will NOT be written (if you re-read the metadata, the face will reappear). Having the same person twice or more times in a pictures is not common, but it can happen. For instance, someone looking himself at the mirror, or a photo with a framed picture of that person in the background. I captured the whole thing in video: https://imgur.com/a/W6nIo5r -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 416701] Can't use dead keys to insert accents
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416701 --- Comment #1 from and_...@hotmail.com --- The issue ceased to exist by reseting the locales of the system. Running the command: #locale Didn't show any visible changes after the reset, but apparently the problem was there. On Arch at least, it seems that sometimes, the locale files get corrupted for no apparent reason. (non KDE apps were working before, so I'm not sure what happened) Anyways, the fix for KDE apps was to regenerate all locale settings by running $localectl set-locale LANG= -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 416828] New: dolphin is removed when VDPAU is uninstalled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416828 Bug ID: 416828 Summary: dolphin is removed when VDPAU is uninstalled Product: dolphin Version: 17.12.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: k...@bluewin.ch CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Well, this may be not directly a bug. But when the VDPAU (video decoding acceleration API) is uninstalled with "sudo apt-get remove mesa-vdpau-drivers libvdpau1 vdpauinfo" also the dolphin file manager is removed from the system. This is a somewhat strange behavior, - for a file manager. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Execute the command "sudo apt-get remove mesa-vdpau-drivers libvdpau1 vdpauinfo" in the terminal OBSERVED RESULT The dolphin file manager is removed along the VDPAU packages. EXPECTED RESULT When VDPAU is uninstalled, dolphin should not be removed. And if dolphin needs any form of "video acceleration" (?), it should use the VA-API instead of VDPAU. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.9 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The effective reason to remove VDPAU is because it is broken for some hardware. As of January 2020 this is true for most newer Radeon (r600) MESA driver releases. In most cases, with some rare exceptions, the VA-API is working stable. So a switch to that video decoding acceleration API would be a good workaround. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-knewstuff] [Bug 413434] QtQuick dialog: Close button is not really needed, and the row it sits in could be removed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413434 --- Comment #6 from Nate Graham --- Fair enough. I'll be on the lookout, but I haven't seen a KDE dialog with only a close button on the bottom row. Nearly all of them instead have one of the following: - Yes/No (which is wrong, see https://hig.kde.org/components/assistance/message.html#appearance) - Ok/Cancel - Ok/Apply/Cancel Are you aware of any KDE dialogs that have only a "close" button on the bottom row? And FWIW we already do have this paradigm of "you can close it with an x in the corner but there's no explicit 'close' button at the bottom" in notifications and Kirigami sheets. So I don't think it's really very weird or unfamiliar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
