[kmail2] [Bug 420608] Unable to configure a default email format

2020-04-27 Thread Laurent Montel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420608

indeed user case can be useful.
If we had too many settings user will not know where he must change settings.

More easy is adding a global settings

Adding this settings in each folder can be a pain for end user which will not
knowning where it's configurated when they change it by error.
I added a lot of bug report about identity where user changed it in specific
folder by error and didn't know why they didn"t have a specific identity when
they replied to an email.

[systemsettings] [Bug 420673] GTK icon theme not configurable anymore

2020-04-27 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420673

Icon themes are not required to ship with all possible icons, because the XDG
icon spec defines inheritance. Unless it is possible to inherit from both KDE
and GNOME icon themes at the same time, users will expect to configure icon
themes separately.

[systemsettings] [Bug 413165] Please add option to reduce screen brightness in kcm_nightcolor

2020-04-27 Thread Daniel Tang
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413165

This would be really nice.

I updated KDE one day and noticed that it added built-in Night Color. I
promptly enabled it and uninstalled redshift. I soon noticed that I had the
brightness dimmed in redshift but in KDE there wasn't an option for that.

I am on a desktop with dual external monitors. I can't change the brightness on
the monitors themselves because they don't let me change the brightness in SRGB
mode. I also don't want to turn off SRGB because the monitors are slightly
different models and the color would be weird.

I tried setting the brightness using xrandr but that undid the effect of Night
Mode.

I would greatly appreciate it if KDE Night Mode could change both the color and
the brightness

This was an issue for me. Version 20.04.0 on Windows 10. I wanted to reverse
the slideshow clip so it would play backward. Reversing or changing the speed
of slideshow clips does not work properly. The workaround was to render the
slideshow clip as an mp4 and import the mp4 video clip. Change speed and
reversing works on mp4 clips but not slideshow clips.

> This is a reminder that this bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could
> you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version?

Yes this still is an issue. In my situation I have 3 monitors with one on the
left in vertical orientation. Krfb will only use that left monitor with no way
to configure with monitor to use.

Extract from xrandr:
DP-1 connected 1920x1080+1050+509 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
521mm x 293mm
HDMI-1 connected primary 1050x1680+0+0 left (normal left inverted right x axis
y axis) 474mm x 296mm
DVI-D-1 connected 1920x1080+2970+509 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
520mm x 290mm

For me it will only work with HDMI-1 (left hand), where I wanted to use it for
the right hand DVI-D-1.

Suggested behaviour:
A combo box with all available monitors if greater than 1 which change the
captured framebuffer region to that monitor.
An optional advanced mode where the user can define a size and offset from top
left (WxH+X+Y).

Basically a way to do the equivalent of x11vnc's -clip option.

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

After a while I stop being able to open Konsole with the keyboard.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Spend an hour doing something like using Android Studio
2. Try one of the following:
   - Press SHIFT + F4 in Dolphin
   - Press CTRL + ALT + T anywhere (make sure it's set as a custom shortcut)
3. Try one of the following
   - Press F4 in Dolphin
   - Open Konsole from the start menu
   - Open another Konsole window by typing "konsole" in Bash

OBSERVED RESULT

None of the things in Step 2 work. They are silently ignored. All of the things
in step 3 work.

I can get "CTRL + ALT + T" to work if I "kquitapp5 kded5" and "kstart5 kded5".
I can't get "SHIFT + F4" until I log out and log back in. Both the "CTRL + ALT
+ T" and "SHIFT + F4" seem to stop working at the same time.

EXPECTED RESULT

To be always able to open Konsole.

That is, for the things in step 2 to always work just as well as the things in
step 3.

Fix a threading crash caused by transformation masks

The mask must not access pixels outside its need rect, it breaks
a contract between it and the scheduler. And since affine transformations
use bilinear interpolation, we should provide one more pixel in needRect.

[kmymoney] [Bug 420683] New: Inaccurate decimal precision of South Korean Won (KRW)

2020-04-27 Thread Shinjo Park
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420683

Bug ID: 420683
Summary: Inaccurate decimal precision of South Korean Won (KRW)
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@peremen.name
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Currently in KMyMoney's currency setting, both "Smallest cash unit" and
"Smallest money unit" is set to KRW 0.01. However, in every Korean bank
statements and stock price tickers the price is always presented in the unit of
KRW 1 (no decimal points). Only in foreign exchange markets rates are announced
in the precision of KRW 0.01, and it is usually rounded down when it becomes to
accounting.

At kmymoney/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp:
currencyList.append(MyMoneySecurity("KRW", i18n("South Korean Won"),
QChar(0x20A9)));

This should be:
currencyList.append(MyMoneySecurity("KRW", i18n("South Korean Won"),
QChar(0x20A9), 1));

[systemsettings] [Bug 420673] GTK icon theme not configurable anymore

That's right, GTK apps uses the general icon theme now. Strictly speaking there
is no such thing as a "KDE icon theme" or a "GTK icon theme"; icon themes are
inherently meant to be cross-desktop-compatible. So we thought it would make
sense to just configure the icon theme settings in one place and apply it to
all apps evenly.

If icon themes are missing icons, that's an issue with those themes that should
be reported to the theme creators.

[krusader] [Bug 402875] Krusader copy/move dialogs no longer a separate window

2020-04-27 Thread Martin Dratva
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402875

I have forgotten about this, but I guess better late than sorry ...
So today I installed Plasma desktop and indeed, there the copy progress is
indicated differently that in my environment (same Krusader version). It seems
like it is managed be Plasma and has some sort of panel integration. This is
really good. I would love to have such functionality also in Cinnamon. Is there
something I can install or it needs full fledged Plasma for that?
If so, would it be possible to have similar functionality also in Krusader? Or
at least have the copy progress window separate from Krusader main window as it
was before this change?
Thanks.

Detect executables without +x permission in $PATH to improve error message

Summary:
QStandardPaths::findExecutable will not return to us a non-executable binary.
So implement our own iteration over $PATH to detect such a case.
Note: this doesn't handle the case where PATH isn't set at all (QStandardPaths
implements a fallback)
nor do we implement this for Windows (where chmod -x doesn't really exist as
is). I think this is fine,
in the worst case the user will get the other error message, program not found.

Test Plan:
'sudo chmod a-x /usr/bin/gwenview' then try opening a picture with gwenview
from e.g. dolphin, see the error message

Bug ID: 420681

OS: Linux

SUMMARY

 Hello,

I recently installed Manjaro with KDE Plasma. Here is my problem :

When i go to Network in the left panel within Dolphin, i can't see my Windows
10 machine, although i can see all my other machines (rasberry pi with raspbian
mainly)

Then, when i type smb://my_username@my_win_machine in the Dolphin address bar ,
this is OK, i can browse through the remote shares
Then, when I try to open a movie by double-clicking on it, VLC can't open it,
it says "operation not permitted" (in vlc logs).
But when i double-click on a another type of file (pdf...), this is OK

Well, my concern is that just after this, i installed Nautilus, and there is
not problem at all, it sees my Windows machine by default and no problem to
play the videos on the remote shares with VLC.

I have Manjaro 20.0 / KDE Plasma 5.18.4 / Dolphin 20.04.0 / Samba 4.11.7

So, i think neither my samba conf nor my Windows 10 nor VLC are the problem.
I really would like to use Dolphin instead of Nautilus

Do you have an idea of this problem and how to solve it ?
Thanks in advance
Alex
Quote Accept this answer Report this post Edit post

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a Windows 10 machine
2. Click on Network within Dolphin in the left panel
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

You observe that this Windows machine does not show up

EXPECTED RESULT

I should see the hostname of the Windows machine as i can see in Nautilus

I'm sorry, but it doesn't really tell us much.
- which brush are you using?
- does your pressure sensitivity work with other brushes like Basic-Size and
Basic-Opacity?
- what do you mean by "the sensitivity is slow"? Maybe you could attach a
screenshot and explain the slowness on the screenshot?

Btw better place to get help with Krita is krita-artists.org . This website is
mostly development-oriented, while krita-artists.org is more user friendly and

Sorry for reviving this old issue.
I can reproduce this issue every time, even with the newest Kubuntu 20.04 LTS
(In 18 and 19 too). I can't find any threads of bug reports that end with a
proper solution for this issue. I am not an Ubuntu expert, but the errors as
seen below and the issues described in bug seems very similar, so I assume it
is related?

No problem. Thanks for understanding.

> widget.

Now this isn't necessarily the case. (I would even say window decorator is
simpler since there's a single program (kwin) that it interacts with.) However,
I never claimed that I fully understand all the options in the widget style
either. It's just that the qt4->qt5 transition has virtually no API change so
the porting doesn't need any understanding. As I fixed a few bugs over the
years I am getting a better understanding of it, but I won't even say I've
touched/used more than 20% of it = = ...

> Can you post on your GIT site that you're looking for help. Bye.

The best reference is https://community.kde.org/Infrastructure/Git . It's the
kde:qtcurve git repo (using the alias on that page) and that probably won't
change. There seems to be quite a bit change on the infrastructure in the past
few years (gitlab (invent.kde.org)?) so I honestly don't know what's the
lastest way to access all the KDE git repos at this point, let along in another
2 years = = ... (I'm just keep using the URL I've been using until someone
tells me I'm using another one)

Qt is not related to KWin window decorations.

> Too bad KDE couldn't integrate qtcurve-qt5 into their code (just a thought).

That wouldn't have helped. There are several other KWin 4 window decorations
that were not ported to KWin 5 because of lack of man power.

Anyway, let me add that Yichao's findings about the complexity of the QtCurve
code are spot on. It requires a really patient/dedicated developer to read
through it.

SUMMARY
Beside showing the number of "new" messages it would be nice to also
(optionally) show the number of all messages beside a favourites folder name.
Especially when adding a search filter like "mails with tasks" this would be a
benefit.

I propose to show the absolute number of messages in square brackets. The
behaviour should be configurable on a per folder basis.

Some times when I type out my comments they appear much too harsh than I intend
them to be. This is something that I'm working on ;-). For this I apologize
and would like to clear the slate on this topic. I know that you have spent a
great deal of your personal time on this project including several other
projects.

I understand that this window decoration is more complex than the average
widget. Too bad that Qt doesn't provide better examples for help. Any comments
from the KDE people on their board?

I wish you the best of luck in finding a coder with time on their hands to help
you finish this great project. Too bad KDE couldn't integrate qtcurve-qt5 into
their code (just a thought).

I'll put the word out for people that have time to code using C++ with
openSUSE.
Can you post on your GIT site that you're looking for help. Bye.

SVG image with shadow

SUMMARY

I have a project created in 20.04.0 version, with the attached SVG image. It
has a shadow layer, with semi-transparent gray color. I've used it in another
project made with 19.12.3 some days before the fresh project. I also rendered
this older project with 19.12.3, and in it the shadow-part of my image is
visible. But rendering my new project with 20.04.0 only renders the red shape
itself, without the semi-transparent shadow part. Interestingly, after I load
the new project into the old version, and do the rendering, the shadow is
visible again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Insert some background in a new project on V1 track, for example white
color.
2. Place the attached image above it, on V2 track (default 5 seconds duration
is enough)
3. Render the video and check it

OBSERVED RESULT
My video shows the red shape, but not the shadows.

EXPECTED RESULT
My video should show every part of my image, the shape and also the shadow.

If we made that a full-screen overlay, I guarantee that there would be a subset
of users who would call for our heads on platters. :) Imagine how disruptive it
would be if you were giving a presentation or playing a game. Yes, you want to
be notified that you need to stop what you're doing or plug in the computer,
but not at the cost of obscuring everything you're currently doing.

I agree with you that the notification pop-up shouldn't time out after one
minute though. If you get up to go make tea or use the backroom, it could
easily disappear before you see it.

[kdevelop] [Bug 413509] [KJobWidgets?] : random (?) crash

2020-04-27 Thread RJVB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413509

Qt Version: 5.9.8
Frameworks Version: 5.60.0
Operating System: Linux 4.14.23-ck1-mainline-core2-rjvb x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Another crash like this, quite a bit after I exited from a KDevelop session.
>From the looks of it, a timer fires that is connected to a KDirLister job,
which is apparently still alive (after the core cleanup routine exited?!) but
which has a stale reference to an associated KJobWidget. I'll try to look into
this, but if my analysis rings any bells please tell me where I could start
looking.

Could this be a side-effect of the somewhat recent change where on-disk changes
are handled through a timer instead of queued immediately?

Changing behaviour of tools depending on context could get confusing. Specially
if the selection is small. Suddenly duplicate won't work as expected or it
might feel as broken (seletions are saved to file)

Perhaps adding a modifier to like Ctrol + Shift + J could make duplicate take
selections into account. Did you discuss this feature somewhere? It is advices
that all new features and wishes be discussed first, either as a proposal, use
cases, why is it needed, etc; or as an open discussion in a forum such as
https://krita-artists.org/c/develop/feature-requests/

[systemsettings] [Bug 420673] New: GTK icon theme not configurable anymore

2020-04-27 Thread Flupp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420673

Bug ID: 420673
Summary: GTK icon theme not configurable anymore
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_icons
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs.kde@derflupp.e4ward.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127930
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127930=edit
screenshots

In kcm_icons, the GTK icon theme cannot be configured independently from the
KDE icon theme. This is in contrast to the application style (kcm_style), where
the GTK2 application style, GTK3 application style, and KDE application style
can be chosen independently.

Not being able to configure a different icon theme for GTK applications and for
KDE applications is problematic because KDE icon themes lack icons that some
GTK applications depend on and GTK icon themes lack some icons that KDE
applications depend on. This leads to missing icons or inconsistent icon styles
within an application when fallbacks apply.

The screenshots show missing icons in Dolphin’s toolbar when using Adwaita and
an inconsistent icon style in Evolution when using Breeze.

In previous versions, the GTK icon theme could be configured independently of
the KDE icon theme.
