[i18n] [Bug 423135] German translation does not distinguish between system boot splash and Plasma Login splash
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423135 --- Comment #2 from Martin Tlustos --- Both entries are in the "startup and shutdown" section of the system settings. One is titled "boot splash screen" and the other "splash screen", but the German translation for both is "Startbildschirm". "Boot splash screen" should be named something like "Systemstarbildschirm" and "splash screen" should be named "Plasma Startbildschirm" or something like it ("Plasma Startanimation", "KDE Startbildschirm", or something similar). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 423600] Desktop inherits DPI setting from login manager after first login
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423600 --- Comment #4 from akb825 --- In this case, the "-dpi 192" option was set after synchronizing with the KDE settings. However, if I remove this setting, based on the size of the UI elements I believe it was using a default of 96. When it was originally using this default of 96 for the login manager, the Plasma desktop would display correctly the first time I logged in after booting. (with the DPI of 192 from the KDE settings) However, if I logged out and logged back in it would inherit the DPI of 96 from the login manager. As a result, the desktop icons, desktop context menu, and panel menus all were very small. Other applications would display correctly. Once the settings were synchronized, which added the "-dpi 192" option to the sddm config, the desktop would display correctly regardless of how many times I log out and back on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 423781] New: Corruption in systemsettings5 window and logoff pause/cancellation after suspend/resume with nvidia

My problem is that after I sleep/resume, the systemsettings sidebar is black. Attempting to click in the area does nothing. Also, attempting to logout is either delayed for a minute or entirely unsuccessful. Disabling effects, switching rendering backends, and running 'plasmashell --replace' has no effect. System: Linux Mint 20 XFCE Version: Krita 4.3.0 STEPS TO REPRODUCE (not all these may be necessary, but pretty sure filling twice has to happen.) Starting with 7 layers. [digikam] [Bug 423775] New: IPTC title ("Object Name") not getting truncated at 64 characters in certain situations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423775 Bug ID: 423775 Summary: IPTC title ("Object Name") not getting truncated at 64 characters in certain situations Product: digikam Version: 6.4.0 Platform: macOS Disk Images OS: macOS Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Metadata-Iptc Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: hesyi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY IPTC title ("Object Name") is not getting truncated at 64 characters when there is an xmp file containing a long title. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a new jpeg photo (`myimage.jpeg`) to digikam, and go to "Captions" -> "Description". 2. Enter a "Title" that is longer than 64 characters (e.g., "digiKam is an advanced open-source digital photo management application that runs on Linux, Windows, and MacOS") and click "Apply". 3.1. Use exiftool to check the image: `exiftool -G1 myimage.jpeg`. 3.2. As expected, the "[IPTC] Object Name" is truncated as 64 characters ("digiKam is an advanced open-source digital photo management appl"). 4.1. Now add a raw file with the same name to the same directory (e.g., `myimage.nef`). It doesn't matter what the raw image is. It is just used to generate a sidecar xmp file that contains a long title. 4.2. In digikam, click the raw file and add a "Title" that is longer than 64 characters ("digiKam is an advanced open-source digital photo management application that runs on Linux, Windows, and MacOS") and click "Apply". 4.3. Now we have a xmp file with the same name (e.g., `myimage.xmp`). (We can remove the raw image at this point.) 5. Go back to the jpeg file, and click "Information". Select any of the template (e.g., "To remove") and click "Apply". 6. Run the same exiftool command again: `exiftool -G1 myimage.jpeg`. OBSERVED RESULT The object name is not truncated. ``` [IPTC] Object Name : digiKam is an advanced open-source digital photo management application that runs on Linux, Windows, and MacOS ``` EXPECTED RESULT The object name should be truncated as before (in step 3.2). ``` [IPTC] Object Name : digiKam is an advanced open-source digital photo management appl ``` SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS digikam: 6.4.0 macOS: 10.15.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Notice that when you edit the "Title" again and click "Apply", the IPTC Object Name got truncated again. I discovered this bug when I was working with both raw and jpeg file and assigning the same title to both of them. For a long time I thought it was normal for the IPTC title to be longer than 64 characters, until I removed the raw file and discovered that the title got truncated (http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digiKam-users-Embedded-IPTC-title-in-JPEG-suddenly-started-to-get-truncated-at-64-characters-td4712640.html). I think it is very confusing for the users to get this inconsistent behavior (being able to have a title that is longer than 64 characters, but got truncated with seemingly no reason later when they remove the raw file). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[systemsettings] [Bug 423141] GTK2 theming broken after update to Plasma 5.19

I started a work on a list-based GTK theme selection some time ago, but it is unfinished and somewhat hacky on the Kirigami/QML side, since we do not have the exact needed component. [frameworks-plasma] [Bug 422616] Garbled HTML information in system tray icon tooltips when apps put HTML in there
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422616 --- Comment #10 from Nate Graham --- So what do folks think we should do here? Revert the change and allow HTML in tooltips again to un-break apps, and then change the documentation to reflect reality? Or Tell all the apps they they have to change to follow what the documentatio says (which is now enforced by reality). Option 1. re-introduces some potential security issues from malicious HTML in tooltips, while option 2 isn't very nice to apps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 423761] Make Power Management KCM open in System Settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423761 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added CC||n...@kde.org --- Comment #3 from Nate Graham --- Technically this isn't one KCM that's opened, but rather three. YOu can see because the window's sidebar has three items in it. We can only open single KCMs in System Settings, not multiple KCMs. So to do this properly, we will need to collapse those three KCMs into one first. This is desperately needed anyway, as those KCMs are quite old-fashioned and have poor UX. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 423735] Selection tool to print cutouts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423735 --- Comment #2 from Bernhard --- In my case it depends on the situation. Sometimes it should be in original size, sometimes zoomed to double or half. I could imagine using the zoom in okular for that. There you can decide between 100% or 200% or whatever. Then you select a certain part by the selection tool and instead of copy or save you start something like "print section" which leads to the print dialog. Another possibility is your idea (as far as I understood): Use the selection tool to choose an area. Start the print dialog by the context menu, which needs some aditionals at PDF-Options, like: "fit to printer margins" or "zoom xx %" Unfortunately both solutions have the disadvantage, that you don't know if it is larger than a single page or if you waste space. Concearning "accross multipe pages" I don't see any trouble as the selection tool only accepts selections on a single page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thank you so much. For > me I consider that the Bug is resolved. I can confirm that akonadi_maildir_resource is much faster again as well. I wasn't sure initial, but I just tested switching between folders and it is much faster again. I don't know that fixed it but it maybe that Akonadi 20.04 and Qt 5.12 did not like each other. Jonas, can you confirm that IMAP resource is still slow with Qt 5.14? If so, I suggest this to be a different bug. Anyway I am closing as RESOLVED / WORKSFORME now as… I have no idea what fixed it.
