[partitionmanager] [Bug 424045] New: moving btrfs partition fails, creating ntfs and btrfs partition crashes all the harddisk and data
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424045 Bug ID: 424045 Summary: moving btrfs partition fails, creating ntfs and btrfs partition crashes all the harddisk and data Product: partitionmanager Version: 4.1.0 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu Reporter: li...@omdao.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 130009 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=130009=edit failure moving btrfs partition SUMMARY 1. moving btrfs partition fails. See attachment. It is in German language. Using a 1 TB hard disk with KDE Plasma on Manjaro Linux beside a 256 GB HD for OS. And here more bugs from other cases with the same hard disk. 2. Originally my hard disk was fully formated in NTFS 99% for data use and another 1% size partition was for MS Windows. I tried to shrink the NTFS part for having 2 halfs of the harddisk. Then I formatted the 2nd part into btrfs. It crashed all my data. Even the most professional recovery programs could rescue only a little. 3. Later after the crash I have deleted the whole hard disk and splitted it into 2 parts. I tried to format one half to NTFS and the 2nd half to btrfs. It said this does not work. Using a Windows platform partition manager easily I could format one half to NTFS and the other one to ext4. Later I used gparted to change the ext4 to btrfs. Sorry to talk so open but your partition manager is really rubbish. It cause terrific problems. It cost me 3 days of work for (partial) recovery. All free partition programs in Windows are much more reliable and offer more features. Compared gbparted still does not create those crashes as KDE partition manager. And it gives at least warnings for risky formats and explains what to consider before acting. Nothing like this for KDE partition manager STEPS TO REPRODUCE1. 2. 3. I'm on Neon Developer's Edition 5.19.80, updated as of 7/9/20. Just to be clear, when I have focus on the desktop and krunner has not been started, is the desired behavior of krunner: A) typing "Hello" should invoke krunner and send "Hello" to the text box or B) typing "Hello" should invoke krunner, and send "ello" to the text box I'm getting A, but if it's supposed to be B then I guess it is working, though it would seem a papercut if not a bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420474 --- Comment #3 from Damian --- Hi Panagiotis, sorry for the late response but I didn't see your reply. I've found the root of the problem. I configured the outgoing mail server to try and send a message but it failed again with the same symptoms in Wireshark, only that this time I had an error pop-up with the following error code from OpenSSL: "141A318A:SSL routines:tls_process_ske_dhe:dh key too small". I turned to Google and the first answer was [1] which explained that on 20.04 the minimum security level on OpenSSL was raised, thus the error message. I followed the suggestions in the answer and now I'm able to send and receive, so it's not really a problem with KMail, but with the default configuration of the OpenSSL library in Ubuntu 20.04. 1: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1233186/ubuntu-20-04-how-to-set-lower-ssl-security-level -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Falkon] [Bug 400120] Feature Request: PDF View Support
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400120 Brendon Higgins changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bren...@quantumfurball.net --- Comment #9 from Brendon Higgins --- Just yesterday while submitting a paper to arxiv.org I found that the built-in viewer would not render the PDF which their server generated. The screen was just grey. Of course, I was logged in and the submission is private, so I couldn't just wget the URL. I had to use Firefox (which does allow me to turn their built-in viewer off) instead. Good to know about the "disable pepper plugins" workaround. From my point of view, though, Falkon desparately needs an on/off toggle, and a "Save" button, for the built-in PDF viewer. (My experience with these continues to be hit-or-miss, and I was quite happy to just use Okular for PDF viewing in the past...) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
