[konsole] [Bug 424089] New: Variable width font not rendered properly on KDE Konsole

2020-07-11 Thread Srix
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424089

Bug ID: 424089
 Summary: Variable width font not rendered properly on KDE
Konsole
 Product: konsole
 Version: 19.12.3
 Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
 Severity: normal
 Priority: NOR
Component: font
 Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
 Reporter: neos...@gmail.com
 Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 130033
 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=130033=edit
konosle variable width font error

SUMMARY
Konsole on Kubuntu 20.04 ( Konsole-19.12.3, KDE FX 5.68.0, Qt 5.12.8) does not
support variable width fonts (eg. indic language fonts) and renders it as
monospace. This results in unreadable output.

However, Konsole on Kubuntu 18.04 (konsole -17.12.13, KDE fx - 5.61.0, QT
5.12.3) is rendering correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Konsole on Kubuntu 20.04

2. In the Konsole Terminal run the following commands
$ echo தமிழ் வணக்கம்
$ printf
"தமிழ் வணக்கம்
"

Both should print "தமிழ் வணக்கம்".

3. The rendered font is not readable.

4. When the same is tried in Konsole on Kubuntu 18.04 it is perfectly rendered.

OBSERVED RESULT
test is garbled. Attached image

EXPECTED RESULT
$ echo தமிழ் வணக்கம்
தமிழ் வணக்கம்
$ printf
"தமிழ் வணக்கம்
"

[kgeography] [Bug 422496] Wrong Map of India.

2020-07-11 Thread nilsocket
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422496

--- Comment #12 from nilsocket ---
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #7)
> It's not up to KDE to decide who *should* own and controls a given piece of
> territory. Rather, our maps show who *does* control it. For example China
> sure wishes it controlled Taiwan, but it does not, so Taiwan is shown as a
> separate country.
>
> Are you objecting that the map of India does not reflect reality regarding
> which parts of the territory India does control, or are you saying that we
> should take your side in your conflict with Pakistan because you believe
> your country rightfully *should* control all of the territory?

It's true that our country should rightfully control all the territory.

But I definitely don't want you take sides.

Recently, J and Ladakh are made into independent territories.
Which is reflected here:

http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in/files/Political%20Map%20of%20India.jpg
https://indiamaps.gov.in/soiapp/

Here India does claim all of J and Ladakh area, but some parts are controlled
by Pakistan and China.

I'm okay, if you reflect the current state of reality.

But one thing which can be done, is mark disputed areas as such.

For say, I'm looking at Indian Country, then you can mark areas which are
controlled by Pakistan and China as Disputed area from Indian side.

When I'm looking at Pakistan Country, then you can mark whole J and Ladakh as
disputed areas, from Pakistan's perspective.

Correction Needed:
1. Indian State Andhra Pradesh has been split into two states, namely:
 - Andhra Pradesh
 - Telangana (has more districts than previous one)
2. J has been split into two Union Territories:
 - Jammu and Kashmir
 - Ladakh
3. Add Disputed regions as such from all perspectives:
 - Pakistan and China occupied territories as disputed area from Indian's
Perspective.
 - J, Ladakh as disputed area from Pakistan's Perspective.

Show all countries as they claim, but if controlled by others, then show it as
disputed area.

Thank you.

I actually had a similar issue recently where KWin had some issues (I am
running unstable), in this case restarting KWin solved the problem.

And is this also reproducible for other widgets with a text input field, for
instance the clipboard one?

I can confirm this for the 4.3.0 appimage on Debian Stable with various
existing animation files.

The animation plays ok but then crashes if I try to select a frame or try to
scrub along the timeline.

Example terminal output:
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3
QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3
QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3
QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active

[digikam] [Bug 418373] Add shortcut for Tag apply button

2020-07-11 Thread Marcel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418373

--- Comment #5 from Marcel ---
Thank you for clarifying the problem. I definitely misunderstood the problem.

1. Apply button applies the tag information to the image
2. Pressing enter on the images after selecting the tag always switches from
the thumbnails to the Preview view. A side effect is that the image widget
loses its focus so Digikam asks to apply the changes of the tag. I think that
is what you experience.

When selecting the tag the mouse anyway is used. Clicking to another (next ?)
image/selection also forces the dialog if the changes should be applied, but
does not switch the view. Probably this already fits your needs?

By the way, the solution of Gilles is described on my fist comment.
