I experience the same with KDE Neon:
 Operating System: KDE neon 5.19
 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.3
 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.72.0
 Qt Version: 5.14.2
 Kernel Version: 4.15.0-111-generic

The issue disappears after deleting all *akonadi* files in $HOME/. However,
after some new boots (max. three) the issue is back.

Also I tried to reinstall all Akonadi and Kontact modules - no success, same
behavior.

Help is needed please. Happy to support!

[kstars] [Bug 424360] Using Dark Frames in Guiding Module Repeats Dark Capture Process

2020-07-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424360

--- Comment #1 from mountainai...@outlook.com ---
KStars 3.4.3 experienced the same issue in the simulator -- but only one time.
I had started guiding after deleting all darks from the library, so KStars
correctly prompted me to take a dark. That worked fine, and guiding started.
A minute later I switched into the capture tab and KStars prompted me for
another dark. I had not tried to capture anything, nor did I change the
exposure or gain settings in the Guiding tab or Indi control panel. This did
seem better than Friday night, when I was prompted about 7 or 8 times for new
darks before I just turned the feature off.

I will try again when I can get a live scope set up outside, and will capture
the guide log.

[dolphin] [Bug 386379] Dolphin scrolls faster in icon mode than other Qt/KDE software

2020-07-19 Thread Colin Griffith
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386379

It seems that the new issue is different; it doesn't depend on icon size, it's
just a huge distance scrolled each tick no matter what view I use, and no
matter how the items are sized.

I can't find where to change the number of lines scrolled either, it seems that
option was removed. Even using evdev instead of libinput for mouse handling
doesn't let me use the other options page in System Settings. I tried accessing
it by commenting out the top of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf (which I
have as a symlink to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf), which indeed
loads the evdev driver for mice, but maybe KDE requires libinput to be
completely uninstalled?

I'll file a new bug report, I suppose.. Not entirely sure what to include in it
though, as this sounds like a few things that might be bugs but might not be.

While porting the Color Picker applet to PlasmaComponents3, I noticed this

This only happens when the applet is on a panel, not when it's on the desktop.

[krita] [Bug 424447] New: I can't save my work to the proper folders without having to blindly press buttons and navigate through the "Open, Save/Save as" menu.

2020-07-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply

the "Open, Save/Save as" menu.
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.3.0
  Platform: Snap
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: taliaskittle...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 130268

Screenshot taken of the "Open File" screen. All folders on the left-hand side
are greyed out and unselectable. The dropdown menu is greyed out and
unselectable. The icons are missing.

>From what I've been able to gather, this is a bug that's exclusively on the
snap release for Krita. I don't know how often it's been reported, if it has at
all, but when the "Open/Save/Save As" menu pops up as I try to save my
progress: All of the shortcuts on the left-hand side are greyed out (leaving
only Computer and "57" for me), I can't navigate the drop-down menu as
everything is greyed out there, and the "add new folder and the left/right"
icons are completely missing. I have to blindly click around where they
generally should be in order to navigate.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Krita directly from the Ubuntu Software Center.
2. Create a new file or open a preexisting file that is outside of the default
directory.
3. If you choose to save the new file, try to save it outside of the default
directory or use the dropdown menu to navigate.

OBSERVED RESULT
Using the snap-store release, I found that the drop-down menu can be clicked
but it can't be used. The shortcut area is greyed out and unusable, and the
icons next to the drop-down menu are selectable, but missing.

EXPECTED RESULT
Using the app-image release, I found that everything works as it should. The
drop-down menu is normal, I can add shortcuts to the directories I typically
save to, and all of the icons for the buttons are present.

Porting the Color Picker applet to PlasmaComponents3, a visual regression is
seen: clicking on one of the toolbuttons retains the focus ring for the
toolbutton. This is what we want most of the time, but it's inappropriate when
the applet is on a panel, as panel applets never get focus. Also, the focus
ring looks ugly here because it never goes away, so you wind up with a random
inaccurate focus ring on your panel.

Either we could do something fancy to detect this condition, or just add a
property that will disable showing the focus ring when clicked.

I'm running into the same issue. Newer releases of KDE though.

OS: Kubuntu 19.10 64-bit
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks 5.62.0
QT Version: 5.12.4
Kernel: 5.3.0-62-generic

It appears to be related to when discover has found packages for update and
corrupts (?) some sort of cache while the search is active and some sort of
background process (apt) is working. This might be tied to a downstream bug.

Thanks, Now I understand, but there is a problem :

1- Set global theme to non breeze theme for example Breath. Apply.
2- Set GTK3 theme to Breath. Apply.
3- Set global theme to Dark breeze. Normally from what I understand in this
stage GTK3 theme should be set to Dark breeze to follow Qt theming.
4- Open a GTK3 app you will find it still uses Breath theme.

So the problem is when you set your Global theme to Dark breeze then the GTK3
theme should be set to breeze (this name really confuses because we used to see
it light but now it produces dark theme)

We do not touch non-Breeze themes. They should work.

Breath and Breeze are different themes. Breath comes from Manajaro developers.
We only hide Breeze-Dark and sync colors for Breeze.

So for now GTK3 theme setting (Settings>Application_Style) is not working at
all and is controlled by Qt theme settings ?

Who this genius that suggested to use one theme for Qt and GTK2/3, I always use

Set color scheme to dark one and Breeze GTK will be dark.

Because GTK2 does not have support for dynamic recoloring according to color
scheme. Even more, we plan to remove GTK2 theme setting option and unite it
with GTK3 one since GTK2 is old and deprecated.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Haven't be able to reproduce it.

OBSERVED RESULT
Right clicking sometimes selects the first option without any clicking.

EXPECTED RESULT
The opposite of the observed result.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It can be observed after some time after being logged in. I attached a photo,
what I observed it when this bug happens, is that the menu gets positioned a
few pixels above, so the first option gets behind the cursor. This happened so
many times that I thought it was my mouse that was failing (it's a brand new
one), but I think it isn't.

SUMMARY
Currently, there are a couple of ways to make slide up windows disappear. When
clicking outside of the window on the desktop or by clicking the same icon that
activated the window.

Clicking other areas in the taskbar does not make the menu slide back down. I
tried doing this with the Wifi menu and it did not work.

I think it would be consistent if you click the bottom panel outside of the
wifi icon, for example, that the wifi menu will slide back down.

Created attachment 130263

widget showing cpu usage of 8 cores

SUMMARY
When multiple sensors are added to the widget, the sensors are listed in legend
vertically, even when horizontal space is available

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add system monitor sensor widget to desktop
2. With 'show sensors legend' enabled, add multiple sensors. For eg. all cpu
cores' usage
3. expand the widget to appropriate size so all elements are visible

OBSERVED RESULT
The widget takes lot of vertical space to list every sensor since they are only
listed vertically

EXPECTED RESULT
Horizontal space should be appropriately utilised.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This may not seem like a problem when a couple of sensors are added. But even
with 8 core systems, the wasted space is clearly apparent. For higher end ryzen
systems with 32 or 64 threads, it would either not fit in or take entire screen
space

  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Maintenance-Engine
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: daniel-other+kde...@dadosch.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
It would be nice if digikam could show a list of possible defective pictures.
Some defective pictures can be identified using the logging output of digikam.
A picture is defective, if it has size 0byte, a hard edge in it or color
defects (missing data). This would be nice because it would show early signs of
a failing hard disk (and make the user apparent that they should always have a
backup).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am not sure how such defective pictures can be detected easily, but I have
noticed that I have a bunch of them in my collection AFTER initial import into
digikam (due to possible hard disk failure, corruption when copying,
force-shutting digikam, I don't know)

When entering the password ksystemlog indeed is run as the root user and that
then propagates that to Firefox.

When ignoring the password request ksystemlog is started as normal user and
thus Firefox should be started normally, too.

IMHO ksysguard shouldn't be run as root at all and all privileged actions
should use proper polkit auth, but I don't know the code well enough for a
proper judgement

Git commit e711edd7a8592d1dd789ef9782de53d4726f3262 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 19/07/2020 at 17:13.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

[sidebar view] Remove size hacks for toolbar items

The heights of these items are all bound together to keep them the same
height, but this is the wrong way to do it; instead, the QQC2 styling
for these controls should automatically take care of ensuring consistent
heights, as I recently did for the PlasmaComponents3 versions in
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/plasma-framework/-/commit/e607c1ae470acd526c8a0a0d8323e878e8be55e8.

These hacks have caused a bug when the font size is increased. Let's remove
the size hacks and fix the sizing properly in the style itself.

Thanks, document.refreshProjection() works.

I actually expected that there might be some step to notify the change. But it
is not necessary that doing multiple updates waste CPU in general sense. Some
APIs may use some mechanism to mark the current state as dirty and will update
during next refresh. In that case, there will not be any need to manually
notify.

the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired,

Also, while attempting to pair with bluetoothctl I get this:
pair F2:5B:83:FC:F6:EF

So this seems like it's a issue further down the BT stack probably.

Problem is, that budget numbers are maintained on a monthly basis and don't
have a detailed date. Since your period selection for the report is the 'last
three months', the report (today) starts on the 19th. Once you change the range
to 'last quarter' figures are correct.

Solution would be to force the budget reports always to begin on the first of a
month. I have to think about it a bit and am open for suggestions too.

  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: php4...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. With Chrome: visit http://opentarget.org/test/stupidchrome/winpos/
2. click Launch: this will open a popup
3. Drag the popup to move it around

OBSERVED RESULT

The x and y values printed in the popup don't change while you are dragging the
window. They only get updated when you drop it.

EXPECTED RESULT

They should keep gettig updated. In fact, the contents of the window keep
getting redrawn and the javascript in the html page in Chrome keep running, and
the contents of the text keep getting updated. However, the values for the x
and y coordinates of the window, returned by javascript, are always the same
while dragging, equal to their value an instant before you started to move the
window.

THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN KDE: if you try the exact same example in the exact same
Chrome browser in Cinnamon or Gnome 3, it will work as expected and the values
will keep changing while you drag the window.

Since this only happens in KDE, it appears that the application running in the
window (in this case Google Chrome) doesn't get informed by KDE that the window
is being moved around, until you are done dragging, and then it is informed all
of a sudden of its new position.

This breaks existing web content in the case of a browser, and I can imagine it
breaking other applications that relying on knowing the position of their
window on the screen in real time.
