Krita is now launching correctly after the removal of "AUOB78D.icm",
"LEN89A8.icm" and "LEN89A9.icm", which is identical to the three files reported
in bug 423685.

I have reported the corroupted files to Lenovo.

Thank you very much for solving my problem!

[Skanlite] [Bug 424010] Add some wiggle room when determining which page size a scanner supports given the physical dimensions of its scan area

2020-09-21 Thread Michael
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424010

Yes, just a few millimeter epsilon would be helpful.

For example my scanner says it supports a width of 215mm, which is 8.46457
inches. Because it's less than 8.5 inches, owners of this scanner won't see the
8.5" Letter sized scan area.

However if we were a bit more forgiving, wiggling by one more mm of width, like
216mm, that would make all the difference because that equals 8.50394 inches.

So if Skanlite had a wiggle factor of a few mm when filtering to show supported
supported scan areas, that would be helpful.

[kstars] [Bug 426846] New: Kstars doesn't scale properly on a phone screen

2020-09-21 Thread Mark Daniels
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426846

Bug ID: 426846
Summary: Kstars doesn't scale properly on a phone screen
   Product: kstars
   Version: 3.4.3
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: darkmani...@posteo.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This isn't so much a bug as a feature request. I'm using kstars on the
Pinephone linux phone running Mobian (Debian for mobile), and have found it to
be the best astronomy app for the phone. Thank you for making such a great
product! My only problem is that the app doesn't scale properly on the small
screen of a phone without some tweaks. It comes close, but some of the menus on
the top bar are off the screen using the default setup. I can make it work by
switching the phone to horizontal layout and setting the global "scale-to-fit"
option in Phoc (the compositor) to "on," and then it works great. But the
Purism developers of Phoc have told me they are going to remove the global
scaling option sooner or later, and that I should report apps that don't scale
properly on the phone to the developers. So I wanted to reach out and see if
you would consider revising the app a bit to make it scale properly on screens
that are smaller than your typical computer or tablet size. Please let me know
if there's any information I can provide, or testing I can do, to help in this
effort. Thank you.

[krita] [Bug 426845] New: Creating a transparency mask from a selection causes move tool to move only main layer without transparency mask

2020-09-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426845

Bug ID: 426845
Summary: Creating a transparency mask from a selection causes
move tool to move only main layer without transparency
mask
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.3.0
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Filter Layers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: firefly6...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

If a transparency mask is simply created and then brush strokes are made on the
mask, when the move tool is used on the primary layer, both that layer and the
mask move together. However, if a selection tool (outline, rectangular) is used
on the primary layer, and then the user selects to create a transparency mask,
attempting to move the primary layer using the move tool only moves the primary
layer and not the transparency mask.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have basic image/paint layer.
2. Use selection tool on layer.
3. Create transparency mask (that is then filled in based on selection)
4. Select primary layer and attempt to move via move tool.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only primary layer moves - resulting in the mask staying in the same place.

EXPECTED RESULT
Both primary layer and mask should move together - just as if the mask was
created via another means other than selection.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10
KDE Frameworks Version: LGPLv2.1+
Qt Version: GPLv2 + GPLv3 + LGPLv2.1 + LGPLv3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If a brush stroke is made within the transparency mask (regardless of if it
"changes" anything - i.e. making a small white brush stroke in the midst of the
solid white area), then the move tool will work as expected.

Videos exampling the issue:
https://i.gyazo.com/21e5cd614ff657a96a0a2a20b5f08d11.mp4
https://i.gyazo.com/4fda169a129498f608f6e0159fbd.mp4
https://i.gyazo.com/d51fbf4e10b8c78dbf27ac3a7f7e93fa.mp4

Description of videos, copied from Krita's discord:

The first video is me creating a transparency mask for a layer, filling it
black, and then the video shows me painting in it, selecting the paint layer,
and then moving it and it, well, moves.

The second video shows me using a select tool, creating a transparency layer
which automatically (yay!) fills in based on the selection. But then if I try
to move that paint layer, it only moves the paint layer, not the mask.

The third video is then taking that same layer, making a brush stroke within
the transparency mask, and then again attempting to move the main layer -
successfully now that a brush stroke has been made.

tiar, from the krita-help Discord channel, directed me here to go ahead and
submit this as a bug report.

What's the current status with this proposal?

Currently under KDE5/Plasma, if someone one to use ibus & ibus-hangul to type
in Korean,he/she has to add 3-4 lines into '~/.bashrc' and then add 1 line into
'~/.xprofile'.

~/.bashrc: GTK_IM_MODULE, XMODIFIERS, QT_IM_MODULE (, ibus-daemon -drx)
~/.xprofile: QT_IM_MODULE

'~/.xprofile'is needed to QT apps work with the Korean input. I mean, if I only
edit '~/.bashrc', QT apps such as 'konsole', 'dolphin' don't accept Korean
input.

Git commit 3f89246317ecbf2b2c19a4c4416583db72d463bd by Albert Astals Cid.
Committed on 21/09/2020 at 23:30.
Pushed by aacid into branch 'release/20.08'.

Show "Follow link" if right clicking over link and annotation

Unite handling of right click in mouse release event

Before we had handling on press -> show annot menu if annot
and in release -> show link menu if link or show the genericmenu if nothing

Now we do everything on release and do
show link and annot menu if both
show link menu if link
show annot menu if annot
show generic menu if nothing

It helps with the fact that you can't click on links if there's an
annotation on top, which is a bit of a pain but it makes sense since
annotations usually have more interaction than links, you can select,
move, etc. them

The Root Actions plugin is a 3rd-party plugin which is shipped by default in
Manjaro IIRC, but is not developed by KDE. You would want to contact the
developers of the plugin, perhaps over here: https://store.kde.org/p/998469/

However it looks like the plugin has not had a release on over three years, so
it may no longer be developed.

[digikam] [Bug 426481] Face recognition feels like a regression from 6.4

2020-09-21 Thread Martin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426481

Installed digiKam-7.2.0-Beta1, rebuilt the training data, reset specificity to
default (70) and then scanned for faces - this all worked without error.

Tagged a few faces and then attempted to run "Recognise faces". However, at
this point it just displays a notification with the following:

"Face recognition is aborted because there are no identities to recongise.
Please add new identities."

As a workaround, I tried manually selecting some images and choosing
'Item...Scan for Faces'. This worked and from my brief testing Digikam did a
much better job of recognising faces correctly.

Aside: The interface / workflow improvements are great. Much easier to manage
and tag faces :)

SUMMARY : Window locations not correctly restored on dual driver monitor after
monitor wake from systems self induced power saving "sleep" mode.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable power saving for the monitors
2. Add two firefox windows at various positions on the screen.
3. Let monitors go to sleep
4. Wake monitors

2020-09-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Full screen videos, should allow mouse to show/access Panel apps/widgets.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open youtube video.
2. Enter full screen
3. Move mouse to top of screen.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only shows an X to Exit full screen to click on.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should show the panels so application menus and widgets can be accessed.
Similar to when you press the Meta key.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-48-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

When playing a full screen video such as YouTube, if I want to access any of
the apps/widgets on the panels, I have to first exit full screen using the
mouse. This is inconvenience as to many times I would like to view System Tray
info, time, set volume, etc. while watching a video without having to exit full
screen.
As an example, on the Mac, when you move the mouse to the top or bottom of the
screen the menus show up and you can make selections from the system tray. Also
if you run another app, the full screen app is minimized. Then to restore it,
you can just click the app in the dock.
Right now, when you move the mouse to the top of the screen, all you get is an
X to exit full screen video.

[Spectacle] [Bug 425995] CLI options are missing the ability to exclude window decorations

2020-09-21 Thread Karl Robillard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425995

When you can break compatibility I would recommend consolidating the Area
options to free up some letters with something like this:

-a, --area Area to Capture (default
all)

That would also make it clear that these are mutually exclusive. But for right
now how about removing the --no-include* options leaving:

-e, --include-decorations Include window decorations in the screenshot
-p, --include-pointer Include pointer in the screenshot

'e' is for the [E]nclosing window d[E]corations and [E]mbellishments of course.

You might consider using "--show-" instead of "--include-" to make the long
options shorter as that language is used in the Tool Tips, but then it would
not match the checkbox labels as well.

According to Snap support, the package should install as --classic since this
is an IDE. I am forced to install it from command line with the --devmode
option so it works properly.

~$ snap list | grep -i kate

I get two Kate applications showing in the KDE Menu. Here are the executable
properties of each one.

/snap/bin/kate -b %U
env
BAMF_DESKTOP_FILE_HINT=/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/kate_org.kde.kate.desktop

The main difference in .desktop files is some languages and the Icon=
attribute. But why 2 different ones?

Screenshot of text file previews

SUMMARY
I have previews for text files enabled, and when I first installed the system,
they did work perfectly. After a few days of running, though, *some* text files
are now showing blank preview images. (See attached screenshot.) It seems to
depend on the file extension. If the file ends in .txt or has no extension at
all, the preview is blank. But other text file extensions such as .cfg, .dat,
and .ini are working perfectly.

See the attached screenshot -- in this screenshot, all five text files are
exactly identical copies of each other and differ only in the filename. Three
show perfect preview images, but two show blank previews. (All other file type
previews are working perfectly.)

When text files are placed on the desktop, it shows the icon for a text file
and doesn't attempt to preview them -- don't know if that's relevant or not.

This seems similar to bug #113572 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113572
but I thought I'd put it up as a new bug since that one is 15 years old and has
been marked as not reproducible.

Using Kubuntu 20.04

Tried several cold reboots; problem persists.
Tried disabling text file previews and re-enabling it; problem persists.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create several identical text files, one with no file extension, and one
each with .txt, .cfg, .ini, .dat
2. enable text file previews and view the folder these text files are in
3. (hopefully) observe that the text file with the blank extension and the one
with the .txt extension show blank preview images, while the other three show
correct preview images

[frameworks-kded] [Bug 426834] New: kf5.kded: Could not load kded module "kded_printmanager":"The shared library was not found."

2020-09-21 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426834

Bug ID: 426834
Summary: kf5.kded: Could not load kded module
"kded_printmanager":"The shared library was not
found."
   Product: frameworks-kded
   Version: 5.70.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@equaeghe.nospammail.net
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I get the following error in my logs:

21.09.2020 22:21:11:404 kded5 kf5.kded: Could not load kded module
"kded_printmanager":"The shared library was not found." (library path
was:"kded_printmanager")

I have print-manager-20.04.3 installed, which includes the file

/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/kf5/kded/printmanager.so

I guess some file was not renamed as it should be, or there is a mismatch
between kded-5.70.0 and print-manager-20.04.3.

Thanks, can reproduce now. Maybe Kate has some special logic that needs to be
removed now that the correct functionality comes from KXMLGui for free.

It doesn't matter, the bug in question affects single-monitor setups too, not

[krita] [Bug 426833] New: Feature request : APPLY PAINT TEXTURE PER TIP, new blending modes in brush texture settings, new brush engine : watercolor.

2020-09-21 Thread stephen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426833

Bug ID: 426833
Summary: Feature request : APPLY PAINT TEXTURE PER TIP, new
blending modes in brush texture settings, new brush
engine : watercolor.
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.3.0-beta2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engines
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tgdev...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

1 ) APPLY PAINT TEXTURE PER TIP
Allow the texture used for the paint strokes to be applied per tip, which means
it would overlap itself as the paint is built.

2 ) NEW BLENDING MODES IN BRUSH TEXTURE SETTINGS :
Blend modes for the texture applied to paint strokes : Height, linear height,
Outline(like in Clip Studio), Burn, Overlay, Hard Mix.

3 ) NEW BRUSH ENGINE : WATERCOLOR
Brush engine that enable wet edges; it would include an option to adjust edge
width inside a stroke and texture density(paint opacity becomes more lighter
the more it's dense, and darker the less dense it is).

[kate] [Bug 423191] kate does not remember position and size on 2nd monitor

2020-09-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423191

Well, nothing too spectacular...
Just have a laptop (t470) which is defined as the main screen, attach a 4k
display using displayport. Start kate on 4k screen (e.g from a konsole window
on that monitor). Kate opens in a 640*512px wide window.
Independent of resizing of kate, if you close kate and start kate again, the
main window is not keeping any sizing information and reopens in 640*512px.
If your 4k screen is the only screen, then kate behaves properly.

Strangely enough, this is specific to kate, kwrite works as expected keeping
window sizes independent on which monitor it was started

[krita] [Bug 426832] New: Nighly AppImages do not contain update information

2020-09-21 Thread Anna Medonosova
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426832

Bug ID: 426832
Summary: Nighly AppImages do not contain update information
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: anna.medonos...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
AppImage updating does not work, because the AppImage does not contain update
information. (The check fails silently, and the updater dialog does not appear.
The unsuccessful check is logged in krita.log. That is by design.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a nightly appimage
2. in the console, run ./ --appimage-updateinformation

OBSERVED RESULT
Empty string.

EXPECTED RESULT
The AppImage contains the right update information.
