The file itself looks OK and is not blank, so it might be that the issue is
outside of Okular's control, somewhere in the printing system or the printer
itself.

Does it work if you print that file directly from command line like this (run
it in the directory where the file is located):

lp -d d00028-001

> here is a ps file, for the raster test I need some more day because my
> printer is in maintenance changing the scanner lamp

Whether rasterized printing works would be interesting to know, since this
sometimes helps as a workaround for issues with the printing system.

[kup] [Bug 426804] Filedigger launcher is confusing rsync users

Simon Persson changed:

   What|Removed |Added

   Priority|NOR |LO
 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED
 Ever confirmed|0 |1
   Severity|normal |minor

Filedigger was created to allow a merged view of backups, for each file or
folder the user can see a list of timestamps and open or restore that specific
one. For rsync type of backups that makes no sense since there only ever is one
version saved. Also, since the users files are saved at the backup location
just as a stright simple copy then it makes sense to just use a file browser to
look at the saved files. User can copy anything they need from there.

Keeping this bug report open since clearly there is improvement potential in
how kup presents information, labeling of buttons etc. to make it clear what
the user should expect from interacting with kup.

Any suggestion for how to avoid misunderstandings is appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to report!

[valgrind] [Bug 425232] PPC ISA 3.1 support is missing, part 2

2020-09-23 Thread Carl Love
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425232

Updated the functional patches. The updated patch for the boolean extension
instructions includes the changes described in comment 12 which addresses
Julian's concerns from comment 12.

The testsuite patches were also updated based on the committed functional
patches and the two fix patches.

So these patches now cleanly apply to mainline and have been retested on a
Power 9 LE and a Power 8 BE system. So hopefully we will not break the build
again.

It seems now that the windows in plasma-wayland-session remember their
size.Qt-apps,snaps,flatpaks,appimages seem to save the chosen window size.I've
noticed that yesterday, when playing around for a time with the resizing of
windows. Most Gtk apps also remember it,except certain Gtk applications like, for
instance, brasero, which refuse to get resized. Is it possible that this problem
has been fixed recently? I think that Kwin was updated a week ago,as I
remember.Is all that right?

I don't understand (maybe use your native language), but graphical screen

Well that's not surprising, it's announcing itself through an X atom.

See kwayland-integration integration of the KWindowSystem backend

windoweffects::isEffectAvailable

The implementation of presentWindow is also ... somewhat missing, so the
warning isn't entirely wrong in the current state.

Patch will be somewhat involved as it means patching:
 - kwayland-protocols
 - kwayland-server
 - kwin
 - kwayland-integration

Would be a good JJ for someone wanting to do their first wayland protocol.

Maybe the desirable behaviour would be different for Konsole and real-time
strategy games. I would say it's okay if Konsole doesn't block KWin screen edge
actions because there's not reason for a user of Konsole to push their mouse
against screen edge. However in video games it's commonly used to scroll the
map.

Unfortunately I cannot verify the current behaviour on Xorg because of another
bug.

Maik,

Thank you for following up on my request for help. I did finally get DigiKam to

DigiKam to do what I wanted.

I have 110,000 images in six parent directories on my data drive. I want drive
e: to be the high level directory/album/collection or whatever it is called for
my image collection. But I don't want all 35 directories on drive e: to be in
my image database. I spent a couple of days unsuccessfully trying to get
DigiKam to do that.

I gave up. DigiKam doesn't think like I do. It was a battle of wills and it
won.

I appreciate you help.

Yes and no. Depends on whether Xorg or Wayland is used. Let's only consider the
case when kglobalaccel5 is running, for now.

When using Plasma on Xorg, the problem described in this report is
 - Still reproducible while kglobalaccel5 is running, on Fedora 32 and Plasma
5.18.5.
 - Not reproducible on Archlinux and Plasma 5.19.90.

Not freeing memory after dropped decorations is probably still something that

The button width matching the text content is intentional as of 5.74. We
previously had a hardcoded minimum width for text buttons which looked kind of
odd, so we removed it.

The issue you;re seeing with the button in the lockscreen is a different issue
and is definitely NOT intentional! :( It looks good for me in Plasma 5.20
presumably because we ported everything to PlasmaComponents3, but I guess we
regressed PC2.

Note: I assume, that the right monitor turns its signals off, when there is no

right monitor sends its signal back.

Proposed solutions:
Possible lock of the configuration for each monitor, independent if

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

No idea why this happens.

Checked the contents of ru/.../systemsettings.mo (looked up the path with

[plasmashell] [Bug 416739] Panel disappears from time to time and after a while re-appears

2020-09-23 Thread Alain Knaff

(In reply to Alain Knaff from comment #40)
[...]
> I've got the impression that the problem mostly occurs when the work
> computer is connected, and has the screens.

After some time passed, the pattern of failure apparently has changed for a
mysterious reason. Now, the problem happens with the screens going just to
sleep. No matter of restoring the config files from backups from various dates
cured the problem... Unless there are config files elsewhere than in in
~/.config that need restoring?

Btw, what is the purpose of this mysterious :0.0 entry being added to the
ScreenConnectors? Why is it being added *in*the*middle* rather than at the end?
And if the purpose of this entry is irrelevant for most use cases anyways,
can't we have a config option to just disable this behavior? Could an actual
developer please chime in here?

Indeed, I'd rather have a couple of clicks to perform once and for all after
buying a new screen, rather than having to do that each time the screens wake
up.

No, write protecting the plasmashellrc file unfortunately didn't help. And nor
did write protecting plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

It would be awesome if only the last closed main window of an application would

instances use the window manager to place the window.

Qt has a 'global strut' feature, and styles should respect the values set
there. Unfortunately, newer Qt versions removed the qtconfig tool, and setting
this value requires support from the QPA.

Can you explain why the impaired user does not have trouble with sliders and

Same problem with PCLOS/KDE 5.19.5, started after a big KDE update 3-4 months
ago. Had previously worked fine. It does sometimes work IF the pointer hovers
over the virtual desktops indicator, but more often I have to click to access
the desired desktop.

Just installed Fedora/KDE on another system. Worked fine until after I updated
it (full update last night). Now does not work, as described by others, and
exactly as above.

I understand that that's what makes sense to you, but the impaired user's use
case goes against those assumptions.

For the impaired user, they have the need to increase the scrollbar size, but
no need to increase the rest of the UI. Again, this is because they have
difficulty using the mouse scroll wheel.

The scrollbar on Breeze is very thin, thinner than the scrollbar on older
versions of Windows or macOS. If there is no way to increase the size of the
scrollbar like it can be using other Qt themes or GTK, they will necessarily
need to use something other than Breeze.
