[plasma-integration] [Bug 379989] RTL systems: All Qt5 and KF5 are RTL regardless they translation

2020-09-29 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379989

--- Comment #4 from Jack  ---
I'm not the OP, but I think the problem is that his basic setup is Hebrew,
using RTL, but some apps are not translated into Hebrew, and so they show up in
English, but still RTL which apparently messes up some/many of the displays.
However, since it works for him on another PC, I'm not sure where the problem
could be.

I would mark this bug as important instead of normal. It is quite a show
stopper for using kdevelop for debugging, dont't you think.

Note that I noticed just after submitting #427128 that it does not always
occur: I was able to see the output of a debugged script with no delay while
the same output was buffered when just run.

I'm afraid I don't think this makes sense. Typically the undo metaphor is used

to click through them without reading. A dialog to confirm your undo action

I don't think we'll be doing this. In addition to their interactive properties
which are useful for non-expert users, scrollbars help you see where you are in

navigating scrollable in views can be very disorienting, even for experts.

This is kind of too broad to be actionable. In general any bug with a subject
like "do X thing everywhere" is never going to get done--as you can see from
the lack of any progress in 8 years. Individual bug reports for individual apps
are far more effective and actionable.

[kdev-python] [Bug 427130] New: Variable browser is not complete when debugging pytorch tensor

2020-09-29 Thread Gaël de Chalendar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427130

Bug ID: 427130
   Summary: Variable browser is not complete when debugging
pytorch tensor
   Product: kdev-python
   Version: 5.5.2
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language support
  Assignee: m...@svenbrauch.de
  Reporter: kle...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Debug a pytorch-based python program
2. Try to navigate a tensor variable

OBSERVED RESULT
The tensor repr is correctly displayed but the tensor members (like its shape…)
cannot be viewed

EXPECTED RESULT
Like in pycharm (that I just tried while waiting for other problems with
kdevelop to be solved), tensor details should be accessible during debugging.

C++ programs can be automatically built with saved sources when ran or

The syntax-highlighting repository contains examples how to use the stuff, see

If even with these given it is hard to understand how to use that, I think you
need to search a bit around the internet about how to use e.g. Qt/CMake/...

I hope this might give you some pointers.

[frameworks-kxmlgui] [Bug 427129] New: When using AllActions mode, dynamically show and hide columns as needed

2020-09-29 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427129

Bug ID: 427129
   Summary: When using AllActions mode, dynamically show and hide
columns as needed
   Product: frameworks-kxmlgui
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

KShortcutsEditor can be given an argument to tell it which types of shortcuts
to show: local, global, or all (I'm simplifying a bit). The default is all.

Unfortunately "all" is not an ideal default for most apps, because typically
apps have tons and tons of local shortcuts but zero global shortcuts. As a
result, the shortcuts dialog has two columns for global shortcuts that are
totally empty. This wastes space and looks like an error.

However a few apps do set one or two global actions; for example Yakuake has
one global action for show/hide and Spectacle sets a number of them. So we
can't just change the default setitng to show only local actions, or else, for
example, people using Yakuake outside of Plasma will have no GUI to configure
the global shortcuts.

I propose that we add a bit of intelligence to the editor: when using the
default AllActions mode, it should introspect the models for local and global
shortcuts to see what's available. If there are no global shortcuts in the
model, it should hide the global shortcuts columns, and if there are no local
shortcuts, it should hide the local shortcuts columns.

If the editor is opened with any other mode, this should take priority and only
show the shortcuts for that mode, as requested.

Hi stephen, I tested the line tool and at least on macOS results are as
expected.

Could you record a video of what you are getting? Line tool varies depending on
the pressure during the entire line stroke gesture. So you can trace different
pressure levels depending on the distance. If you see no line at the very
begging or end it might mean you almost had no pressure on your stroke and the
preset you are using does not paint at that "pressure" at that point in the
line. (its quoted as the line can vary depending on any sensor you set).

Readjust your brush preset so it paints at any sensor state during the tracing.

[kdev-python] [Bug 426866] Cannot use variable browser in debugger

2020-09-29 Thread Gaël de Chalendar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426866

--- Comment #6 from Gaël de Chalendar (aka Kleag) ---
In fact, running and debugging both work with the correct setting.

After setting the full path to my virtual env python interpreter in the
"Configure project" dialog, I tried to run and debug while keeping just
"python" as the "Script interpreter" in the "Launch configurations" dialog. And
it failed like described above.

After setting the full path to my virtual env python interpreter also in the
"Script interpreter" in the "Launch configurations" dialog, it now works
(running and debugging).

My two conclusions/wishes:
- when setting a full path to the python interpreter in the launch
configuration, it should become the default one in the launch configs
- there should be detection the start of kdevelop starting from a venv and a
explicit message to the user stating that it should start from the system one

--- Comment #4 from Nate Graham  ---
Heh, and Elisa is setting it wrong:

#if defined KF5XmlGui_FOUND && KF5XmlGui_FOUND
KShortcutsDialog dlg(KShortcutsEditor::AllActions,
KShortcutsEditor::LetterShortcutsAllowed, nullptr);
dlg.setModal(true);
dlg.addCollection(>mCollection);
dlg.configure();
#endif

Fixing momentarily.

--- Comment #3 from Nate Graham  ---
Oh I guess it's already there, but the apps need to be setting
KShortcutsEditor::ActionTypes correctly.

--- Comment #2 from Nate Graham  ---
in kshortcutseditor.cpp, there is already some code which can hide these
columns if kglobalaccel is missing:

#if HAVE_GLOBALACCEL
bool hideGlobals = !(actionTypes & KShortcutsEditor::GlobalAction);
#else
bool hideGlobals = true;
#endif

if (hideGlobals) {
ui.list->header()->hideSection(GlobalPrimary);
ui.list->header()->hideSection(GlobalAlternate);

I guess we just need to hook this up to something that knows it's being used to
display application-specific shortcuts. Unclear if the dialog itself can know
this, or if it needs to be told, in which case all applications using it would
need to be ported to tell it so.

[kwin] [Bug 427045] In plasma-wayland resizing the mouse cursor in system settings-mouse cursor doesn't work whatever cursor theme you choose.

2020-09-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427045

--- Comment #2 from alexjp.lene...@gmail.com ---
You can change the mouse cursor size in system settings/cursor and choose 24
pixel,32,36,48,96 up to over 100 pixel.When you choose,for instance,36 or 48
pixel the size doesn't change to 36 or 48 pixel.Say,my pixel size was 24
pixel,it keeps that size.All of course only in Plasma-Wayland.Plasma-Session is
not affected by this bug.Of course,I always "apply" the setting,by clicking on
"apply".

If you use the capitaine-cursor-theme,mojave or breeze,whatever theme,the pixel
size cannot be changed.

This wasn't a supported setup, and Unity is obsolete and no longer shipped in
Ubuntu, so I'm guessing it's not happening more.
