[kde] [Bug 426227] Appearance of windows

2020-10-04 Thread K6 de Dijon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426227

Good morning
Following your suggestion to use
Workspace - Workspace Behavior - Screen Locking
and choosing a screen in the Appearance tab

I do have the sleep function that activates, but the display is FIXE. There is
therefore a risk of marking the screen.

When I am interrupted, it lasts from a few minutes to more than an hour.
So I got into the habit of putting the screen on the screensaver after 5
minutes and triggering the screen cut after 45 minutes.
The most frequent interruptions range from 20 to 35 minutes. So I don't have to
wait for the time of awakening to resume the current task.

I'm not looking for a complicated screensaver since ASCIIquarium suits me.

Waiting to read you.
Cassis
PS : Yes I'm french, this is an automatic translation

Git commit fd362fd642491ee9b4ad42346776b2d4ec089b22 by Alexey Min.
Committed on 05/10/2020 at 05:07.
Pushed by alexeymin into branch 'release/20.08'.

Make sure to save security settings each time they are modified

Settings that are modified using normal settings window, which is
invoked using menu "Configure Desktop Sharing..." are always saved
correctly.

However some settings that are present on Krfb main window
(normal password, unattended password, checkbox "enable unattended
access") are not handled by KConfigDialog and there is a chance that
settings might not be saved correctly (for example if application
was suddenly terminated).

This hopefully fixes some bugs which are present since year 2011-2014
and have 110 votes, like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340411,
maybe something else.
FIXED-IN: 20.08.2

[plasmashell] [Bug 427353] New: Changing between global themes doesn't restore Tools Area colors (Including Breeze themes)

2020-10-04 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427353

Bug ID: 427353
Summary: Changing between global themes doesn't restore Tools
Area colors (Including Breeze themes)
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Global Theme packages
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: guimarcalsi...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open settings
2. Go to Global Theme
3. Select a Theme (bug better seen with Breeze Dark) and apply
4. Select Breeze again and apply

OBSERVED RESULT

New tools area keeps Breeze Dark colors. If you go to the colors page and
select another one (like Breeze Light) and then go back to the Breeze color
scheme the colors go back to the old Plasma style. I don't know if this is
supposed to happen. The same happens between other themes.

Please check the video I made:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFtGO6jVxKo=youtu.be

It shows me changing between themes and at the end of the video I change only
the colors.

EXPECTED RESULT

All the colors should be restored back to normal without any left over colors.

Uh, I think so? I don't think I've ever seen epubs/odf/md that referenced using
URL anchors. Doesn't mean it can't happen, but generally since they don't get
rendered by browsers I don't think it's used much. Doesn't mean you couldn't
have a epub download URL with a `.` in the URL fragment, though.

Video demonstrating issue. Watch carefully the folder panel on left side for
flickering arrows.

SUMMARY

The folders panel flickers its arrows very quickly, repeatedly on certain
directories, usually ones that do not have a sub-directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch Dolphin.
2. Enable Folders Panel.
3. Click around folders panel and see flickering of arrows.

OBSERVED RESULT

Flickers arrows, causing distraction.

EXPECTED RESULT

Should not flicker arrows so much. I assume this is while trying to check if a
directory exists in the path.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This was not happening in a prior version.

When computing the delta between the visible and the last saved launcher

This lead to an incorrect result and therefore pinned tasks jumping around

[krunner] [Bug 427351] New: Show hints in KRunner as to how to use each module

2020-10-04 Thread Michael
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427351

Bug ID: 427351
Summary: Show hints in KRunner as to how to use each module
   Product: krunner
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: k...@callthecomputerdoctor.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I see that KRunner has some interesting modules, but it's always been unclear
to me how to use them.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Go to System Settings -> Search -> KRunner
2. Look at the modules, dig into them. Each item has an About icon to click on,
but doing so doesn't add any explanation of how I interface with it or what the
module does.

OBSERVED RESULT

For example, the only hint of how to use the Spell Checker plugin is that I
have to click on the Configure gear icon next to its name and figure out that
it wants me to type "spell ___" to use it. The usage is buried in
configuration. But not all modules have configuration.

Or to use the Unit Converter, which is super handy, there is no education of
what I have to type or what are its abilities.

I have Skrooge installed and it installs its own KRunner module. But its About
dialog doesn't tell me how to use it. Frustrating.

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be some kind of clear interface that educates me on how to trigger
the plugin (if it needs explicit triggering), what kind of inputs its looking
for, or add a more fleshed out explanation of its abilities.

For example, with the Unit Converter, to let me know I can type "2kg" or "2cm"
or ...

balance or camera metadata for CR3
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.1.0
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Plugin-Bqm-DngConverter
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: charles.fig...@wartburg.edu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The white balance for CR3 images converted using the linux digikam 7.1.0 is
corrupted, and image metadata (lens, aperture,ISO,exposure, focal length, etc)
is absent. Images are strongly magenta. Other software (such as darktable)
produces a warning ("failed to read camera white balance information").

Images converted through Adobe Digital Negative Converter 12.4.0.555 on Wine
work as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the checkbox "convert DGN"
2. Import the images

OBSERVED RESULT
CR3 files converted to DGN format have corrupted white balance information.
The JPG preview has a bad white balance. The image metadate is lacking all
camera metadata (lens, aperture, exposure, ISO, etc)

EXPECTED RESULT
The resultant DGN format image should have white balance information that
reflects the image. The white balance and metadata should be able to be read
by other image manipulation programs capable of reading DGN files.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Running Digikam 7.1.0
I have sample images, but as these are raw and DGN image produced by the Canon
R5, these images are 41-45MB in size. How can I submit these?

2020-10-04 Thread Nikunj Bhatt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424915

As can be seen in the attached image, the sorting order of the directories is
right but it is not helpful when we want to see the directories sorted by
modified date of the files inside them. Mostly main purpose of sorting is this
rather than what is currently implemented and correct. I think an option should
be given to sort directories according to the files' order. However, problem
deepens when deeper directories are opened in the details view which could
result in resorting of the whole tree.

This feature/suggestion require brainstorming to think about various
possibilities and options.

For complex mirror worflows I suggest you use clone layers and transform masks.
You get more control and can make wathever you need.

Multibrush only "mirrors" the stroke but has no effect on other tools. as well
as the mirror tool.

However the mirror tool could be added the functionality to mirror selecion
along the tool axis.

[libtaskmanager] Fix incorrect URL comparison when writing back a new launcher

When computing the delta between the visible and the last saved launcher
order state, following the reordering of launchers, the code was incorrectly
comparing resolved and unresolved (i.e., for config storage) launcher URLs.
This lead to an incorrect result and therefore pinned tasks jumping around
in the Task Manager applet.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 427344] New: [Feature Request] Ability to configure (higher) number of indexing workers

2020-10-04 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 427344
Summary: [Feature Request] Ability to configure (higher) number

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: stefan.bru...@rwth-aachen.de
  Reporter: philipp.l.kl...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

As far as I can see, the baloofilerc config file doesn't offer any option to
configure the number of file indexing workers (baloo_file_extractor):
https://community.kde.org/Baloo/Configuration

On my system (up-to-date Archlinux), it seems to occupy only one CPU core at a
time. While this might be the preferred default on many laptops and office PCs,
it is rather limiting the initial indexing on a computer with a lot of files
and a lot of computing power. My machine is equipped a 16-core Ryzen 3950X with
Hyperthreading, so using only a single core for indexing means I have to wait
much longer until the initial scan is finished than the hardware would be
capable of otherwise.

So my request is the following:
Please consider adding the capability of configuring the number of parallel
threads / processes used for indexing the files.

Fix resizing of fat partitions.

Workaround a bug in fatresize (or libparted) where resizing to
partition length failed. Instead try to resize to length - 1.

[okular] [Bug 427343] New: Latex: Inverse search with emacs is broken

2020-10-04 Thread Reissner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427343

Bug ID: 427343
Summary: Latex: Inverse search with emacs is broken
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.11.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rei3...@arcor.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
inverse search with latex is broken

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. compile file xxx.tex with \usepackage[active]{srcltx}
2. open xxx.pdf with okular, setting for inverse search is
   emacsclient -a emacs --no-wait +%l %f
3. activate browse tool and shift click on a line.

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT

the editor opens at the according line

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux localhost 5.8.7-1-default
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If i enter the command
emacsclient -a emacs --no-wait +%l %f
directly on the console, with line number %l=200 and according file %f=xxx.tex,
emacs(client) works correctly.
So I think, emacs and latex itself are ok and the problem is with okular.

Maybe it is the last update on suse tumbleweed.

forget about the first post - it DOES change the configuration.. it completely
removes the "desktop containment" section and replaces it with the default

you can use my iso file in a virtualbox vm to recreate it - just reset is until

as others have already postet - it happens in 2 out of 10 cases .. completely

2020-10-04 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427340

They do.

But there's an issue with the use of a custom prefix. the generator won't find
them.
My hack covers finding the services in a prefix, it doesn't help solve the case
of autostart files in a prefix. I kinda hoped I could just make explicit units
for all KDE things and then that problem goes away

I think I could also explicitly re-run the generator after I set the envs. It'd
be expanding the hack, but it's only for dev sessions at least.

When using Systemd startup, the System Tray applet does not appear in my panel.
However attempting to add a new System Tray widget fails, as if the existing
one is secretly there but just not visible, and is blocking a new one from
sharing the same panel. In fact, there is a System Tray entry in
~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc, but with no settings; all my
user customizations have been erased. If I remove this phantom entry from that
file and restart plasmashell, I can add a new System Tray applet and it appears
normally and works properly. But them the bug happens again the next time I
restart plasmashell.

[kate] [Bug 427270] Crash while using Go to Definition in LSP Client with svelte-language-server

2020-10-04 Thread Mark Nauwelaerts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427270

Oops, the crash is obviously bad, but is fortunately plugged now.

As for it not working (and the Url turning empty), that is actually a
server-side problem. As specified
(https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/specifications/specification-current/#textDocument_definition)
the reply to a 'textDocument/definition') can be one of Location, or Location[]
or LocationLink[]. However, the latter depends on the client specifying it is
so capable (which allows extending the protocol without surprising existing
client). As it stands, the client does not support that reply nor does it
claim to in reported capabilities, so the server should not resort to sending
that type of reply.

It's not difficult to extend parsing to handle that reply as well (and will
likely do so in the coming days), but such is the background of the situation.

[digikam] [Bug 423993] Allow rightclick on thumbnails in preview mode

2020-10-04 Thread Geoff King
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423993

I find the current behavior un-intuitive. If you select multiple images in the
Preview Mode, then you can still do operations on them, but you need to right
click on the preview. For example, you select 5 images and want to add them to
the batch queue manager. You must first move down to the single preview image
and then right click.

Or another example is Rotate or Move to Trash in the right click menu would
operate on multiple images, where you only right clicked on the big preview.

[krita] [Bug 427335] New: Render brush cursor separately from the canvas pixels ?

2020-10-04 Thread stephen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427335

Bug ID: 427335
Summary: Render brush cursor separately from the canvas pixels
?
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.4.0-beta2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tgdev...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Greetings guys.
Can you please separate the brush cursor's render process
from that of the Canvas' ? There's a weird and slight stutter/delay just after
the end of each stroke while painting. The issue is even more obvious with
Instant Preview mode active.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. with a pixel engine brush selected, paint multiple strokes like if
you wanted to do hatching lines. Instant preview is inactive.
2. repeat step 1 by painting as fast as you can and see if the brush cursor
doesn't jump to catch up(might be frame drop at the end of each stroke, I don't
know)
3. repeat step 1 with but this time with Instant Preview active.

OBSERVED RESULTS
At the end of each Stroke, the brush cursor stops moving or freezes for a brief
amount of time then jumps to its correct position. With instant preview
inactive, the impact is dampened. But with Instant preview active, it's just
obvious.

Tested on a Krita plus stable build : version 4.4.1 alpha(git b20cb06).

OS : Windows 10 1909
