Hello wizard1, three questions:

* Is this still reproducible for you with current Plasma?

* Does it only happen with the default function keyboard shortcut (Fn+F5) or
does it happen with global shortcuts as well?

* Are you using synaptics/evdev or libinput? (if touchpad is tabbed and full of
features, it's synaptics)

I think this should be under the product frameworks-kglobalaccel or kwin, but
I'm not entirely sure.

If it is, are you still able to open applications with keyboard shortcuts? You
could attempt to run plasmashell --replace on the terminal and, if unable to
get the desktop to load, paste the output here.

That sounds more like some application is hogging CPU.

Is this issue still reproducible for you with more up-to-date versions of
Plasma?
If so, could you check if there's any application behaving weirdly (high CPU or
RAM) on your system?

Hello Dmitry, if this issue is still reproducible, you can find the logs for
powerdevil easily now with

journalctl -r /usr/lib64/libexec/org_kde_powerdevil

(Listed from most recent to oldest, powerdevil might reside elsewhere on your
distro)

Or you can get the PID for the powerdevil process (ps -aux | grep powerdevil)
and run

journalctl -r _PID=pidnumberhere

Touchpad settings menu is incomplete it doesn't show setting for middle click

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings
2. go to input devices->touchpad
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Last option displayed is text label "Middle-click:" but there are no radio
button options for it select the behavior of the middle click

Justin I don't the setting you wanted me to check in settings->Window Behaviour
My settings:
Window activation policy : click to focus
Special windows : Hide utility windows for inactive applications

Additional Information:
The behavior is specific to desktop if have opened an application and i pull
down the terminal using F12 and then click on the application terminal
minimizes, same thing doesn't happen on desktop.

Things work fine when i use X-org display manager

Fix Maximize current Terminal (Keyboard vs Mouse)

It checks if the toggle is minimized to let it rearrange.
But Keyboard shortcut did not toggle the button.

Apparently the crash happened because I had enable the holidays plugin in
digital clock. I manually edited the plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc
and removed the holidays plugins and it stopped crashing. 

After that I removed all 3 digital clocks I had, added these again enabled the
holidays plugin and noe it works and doesn't crash anymore :\

The file is only open with Krita and is saved on the desktop. 

I tried creating a test file in Documents as well, but the same result.

Hi, I've been using Okular for a long while, as it's by far the most
full-featured PDF reader and annotator available. However, I haven't been able
to upgrade past version 19.12.3 because I rely on the following keyboard
shortcuts to quickly adapt to different document types and page layouts on a
multi-monitor setup:

view_render_mode_single=Ctrl+1
view_render_mode_facing=Ctrl+2
view_render_mode_facing_center_first=Ctrl+3

and these shortcuts are no longer recognised at higher version numbers.

I believe this is the correct bug report for this issue, and I'd like to help
solve it, as I'm worried that eventually my out-of-date version of Okular will
stop working. I'm using Manjaro Cinnamon, rather than KDE, so I don't have a
lot of the tools mentioned in comment 16, but I'm keen to contribute any
information I can to fixing this regression.

hey i tried out what you said and the issue still consists. Although i do find
it interesting that the cursors focus affects shortcuts, which i think it
shouldnt. Regardless ive tried it on multiple versions and come up with the
same issue. 

I look forward to the animation updates. mainly for sound and tweening. I think
once those are added I can get my fellow animators to support krita.

simplescreenrecorder is a software that works only in Xorg sessions.
By the way if you try to record a video while using Wayland, you first, will
get a simplescreenrecorder crash, followed after some minutes of hard drive
heavy load, a Plasma session complete crash and you will be prompted back to
SDDM session login.
I cannot retrieve any log since coredumpctl says the dump is truncated

Hello Heiko, is this still reproducible? If so, can you provide the steps to
reproduce?
Your comment seems to imply a default action takes place automatically on
mounting, but I don't see this option in the current device notifier or in its
System Settings module.

(I wrote this comment after c4 but haven't published; still, I think it contain
info that wasn't mentioned before, so please just ignore parts that already
were).

@azlantgc can you please check if you're not having a cursor over the canvas
while making those frames? Generally for the shortcut to work, as you noticed,
the Timeline needs to be in focus. Having cursor over the canvas means that
Krita thinks you'd like to have canvas in focus, so it switches the focus
without you needing to click on it; it's useful for stuff like Move Tool and
arrow shortcuts, for example. But it also causes issues like bug 395866 and
possibly the issue we're discussing right now. Do you think that's the reason
the Timeline gets unfocused and the shortcut stops working?

Also there are multiple operations on the Timeline:

A) Create Blank/Duplicate Frame - they create just one frame in the current
frame, even if you select multiple; so not suitable for bigger amount of frames
B) Insert multiple keyframes - it calls a dialog, so not for fast creating of
frames either, although it is suitable for big number of frames
C) Insert Keyframes Left - it should just create blank frames in the whole
selected region, put it will push down the rest of the frames further down.

@azlantgc would it help you if you'd use the C option by first selecting a
range with the number of frames you want to add, and then pressing the shortcut
for C function (You can add the shortcut in the usual location)?

If C is not suitable, because it does pushed down the rest of the timeline
(it's non-destructive, won't fill the gaps), would it be fine if you used A
instead if it worked for multiple frames (which isn't the case right now - that
would be a change to make by developers)?


And btw, "Krita Next" version that Eoin mentioned right now it not suitable for
production use, unfortunately :( It contains not only lots of improvements to
Animation (Eoin and Emmet are working only on animation right now), but also
resource rewrite, which makes it a bit unstable.

I confirm with the FPS meter. I got the problem for example moving the Dolphin
window around the screen. I cannot reproduce it everytime, but it is not so
hard to trigger it
