[konsole] [Bug 417326] The cursor is drawn one pixel off its expected Y-coordinate

2020-11-04 Thread Arthur Kasimov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417326

Hi Justin, I can still reproduce the issue using the latest git master. It is
not very noticeable though. There is just 1-pixel gap after all, so I used to
live with it :)

Looking at the code, character classes were recently moved to new
terminalDisplay directory. Nevertheless, the cursor adjustment code that
produces a gap is still there - in TerminalPainter::drawCursor.

SUMMARY

Kdenlive crashes when exporting a MP4 video. Tried exporting WEBM and it worked
fine.

The file has a few mp4 videos that are joined in the sequence. When I select
the rendering type and it starts rendering, it keeps loading until about 70%,
then the whole computer freezes.

The first time it happened I was using the computer with other software (like
chrome). The other times the software was running withou my interaction. I
tried:

- Exporting MP4, crashed
- Exporting WEBM, succesful
- Exporting MP4 via scrip, crashed
- Exporting WEBM then MP4 via scrip, succesfull then, on MP4, crashed

Project settings: Vertical HD 60fps
Export settings: MP4 - the dominating format (h264/aac)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Load a few mp4 files into the project and organize them in the timeline
2. Hit export with the aforementioned configuration
3. Wait until the computer freezes

OBSERVED RESULT
Computer entirely freezes without any error messages, can't see any log, have
to reset.

EXPECTED RESULT
Video is exported succesfully

Hi, it happens in Krita 4.4.1 because Krita 4.4.1 has very minimal set of bug
fixes over Krita 4.4.0. It was released like a week or two after the release of
4.4.0 and it was because it was an emergency release, not a normal release.
Hence it doesn't have this bug fix. Please either use Krita Plus or wait until
next Krita (which appears to be named Krita 4.4.3 because we used up 4.4.2 in
Windows Store? Sorry, I know it's confusing a bit :) But the next version
should be around a month and a half from now, it will be just the next big
version with a huge list of bug fixes and some new features).

The output of journalctl --boot 0 --priority warning

SUMMARY
I decided to try Wayland session out since I have a new Hi-DPI monitor. However
I cannot unlock if the session goes into power saving mode and switches the
display off. I can see and move the mouse but the greeter screen does not show
up. I can reproduce the bug reliably. I can unlock the session using loginctl
unlock-session. There are a couple of crashes in journalctl.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Lock the screen or wait until plasma locks it down
2. Wait until screen switches off

OBSERVED RESULT
Cannot login. Entering the password "in the dark" does not unlock the session.
I have to switch into a TTY to unlock it with loginctl.

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen locker should be displayed and I should be able to unlock.

[kwin] [Bug 428705] New: Choppy and laggy system on NVidia drivers

2020-11-04 Thread jaromir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428705

Bug ID: 428705
Summary: Choppy and laggy system on NVidia drivers
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.20.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: j.mir.pra...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Everything is slugish unless I force in kwinrc maxfps and refreshrate to 3x my
real refresh rate. Most noticible is video playback but also windows
animations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Test Big Buck Bunny 60fps version on NVidia drivers in MPV (my setups have
60Hz monitors)
2. Change kwinrc file MaxFPS and RefreshRate in composition section to 3x your
refresh rate
3. Test the same video again

OBSERVED RESULT
Video is noticibly more fluid with that "hack". Without it, it is really not
suitable for any kind of video screening.

EXPECTED RESULT
Video (and overall system animations) are fluid without excesive manipulation
with related parameters.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.20
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2

The assumption was based on the file naming. Most digital cameras have fairly
standard naming with numbers for each photo.

Are you able to copy a freshly taken picture from your Sony camera onto the PC
to test?

Git commit e845f3dbcc2b0495d557d0be6eced7e0722770a8 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 04/11/2020 at 20:32.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Always show ExpandableListitem buttons, not just on hover

Hover buttons suffer from discoverability problems and can't be used on
touch, and this component is explicitly trying to be touch-friendly. So
let's make the buttons always be visible, not just on hover.

To avoid the appearance becoming too heavy, the Buttons are turned
into ToolButtons.

Looking at code seems to the problem is the same like in the past.

Which wallpapaers? For example these:
https://store.kde.org/p/1441338/
https://store.kde.org/p/1441324/
and all other what in Desktop Settings call like: "Wine Leave".

I sent merge request:

Git commit 3a9828651dd5942885b80aa508b59e4ea3bb3ab5 by L. E. Segovia.
Committed on 04/11/2020 at 20:42.
Pushed by lsegovia into branch 'krita/4.3'.

Add OS-specific action property retrieval to KisActionRegistry

This enables the retrieval of operating system-specific action
properties.

OS-specific action properties are labeled with the attributes
"operatingSystem" (for the selected OS; currently only "macos" is
defined) and "operatingSystemElse" (for the rest).

This commit adds a function, getChildContentForOS, that:
- When finding a matching "operatingSystem", returns the given node's
text
- When finding a node with "operatingSystemElse", stores the last seen
one
- When finding a node without any of these parameters, stores the first
seen one and ignores the rest

This commit implements said change on the Del and Backspace key
shortcuts for macOS. See krita.action.

[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 428588] night color time offset

2020-11-04 Thread David
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428588

My system time zone is set to US Pacific Time (PT: PST, PDT) I have never set
my KDE clock time zone because originally it was fine (said PDT.) Now (after
daylight saving time stopped) the clock reset its label/zone to UTC (and won't
let me change back, as mentioned in another bug) except is still actually
showing PST time fine. However this night colour problem was happening
weeks/months before the clock reset its labelled zone. The offset time isn't a
problem in 5.20.2, anyway (just I don't know when my operating system will get
a KDE upgrade.)

The two or more clock options that let you save time zone just take you to a
version of that system setting, and they--even system settings->regional->date
& time--all have the same error 'Unable to authenticate/execute the action: 3,
Tried to start invalid action.' In clock it says I'm not allowed to save it,
but even as root it says that!

2020-11-04 Thread David
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428623

You're right this is not a bug. Maybe the system had just restarted getting
input and was slow, or if something was running in the background taking it
longer to speed up. The users don't know what 'select & drag' is also or
whether they're doing that, which could be a problem. Sorry about this (and
can close it)... couldn't test on my own PC as it's a little older KDE...

Actually this no problem for me. Till ksysguard works well then all is fine. I
hope that KDE team will not replace it with this new application.
Anyway I noticed like author requested on planet.kde.org about test his
application so I did it, and reported how it works for me.

[Heaptrack] [Bug 428689] Feature request: include allocation size information at top of flame graph

2020-11-04 Thread Milian Wolff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428689

Can you make a rough mockup of how you envision this to look like? I have a
hard time envisioning it, especially in flame graphs for code like this:

void a() { malloc(100); }
void b() { a(); malloc(200); }
void c() { a(); b(); malloc(200); malloc(100); }

This would create a "step" currently in the flamegraph and it's pretty clear
where the self cost is. But when we would add something on top to indicate the
allocation sizes... I'm bit lost :) Would you think it should look like this:

[1x 100b]
[a ] [1x 200b ]
[b ] [1x 200b ] [1x 100b]
[c]

Maybe if we remove the background color or something like that from these
entries it would become easy to realize what is what, hmmm.

Regarding your other idea: I've been thinking about that for years but never
really got around to try my shot at it. Generally, this should be tracked in a
separate bug report. The problem is that the type information is lost in
`malloc`, so we would have to try and parse the code lines for the allocation
locations and guesstimate the type from there... But for C++ templates I guess
it will quickly fail :( `new T[100]` is not very expressive

[plasmashell] [Bug 428700] New: Clearing notification list not possible in DnD mode / only after they have been shown

2020-11-04 Thread Daniel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428700

Bug ID: 428700
Summary: Clearing notification list not possible in DnD mode /
only after they have been shown
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.20.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: daniel-other+kde...@dadosch.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Under certain circumstances, it isn't possible to clear the notification list.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Do-not-Disturb mode.
2. Receive some notifications. They are added to the notification list.
3. Try to clear the notification list.

OBSERVED RESULT
The clear-button is greyed out, so it is impossible to clear the notification
list. If you disable DnD, it is still not possible to clear the notification
list, until each notification has been shown on screen and their timer has
elapsed.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should be possible to sweep the notification list all the time, especially
if I have very few notifications (so that all fit in the list and I have
already seen them all, no scrolling needed and showing is unnecessary).

[kdenlive] [Bug 409075] Rendering crashes

2020-11-04 Thread Dan Thompson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409075

(Seems dubious to resolve as "fixed", since I repro'ed the problem.)

emohr: Sorry; I don't have the exact text of the error available any
longer--after I deleted all the config, the error went away.

Intercepting the error and offering to reset config for you would be a good
step... it would prevent people from getting completely blocked. But of course
the ideal solution would be to properly upgrade config so that you don't end up
with the situation in the first place.

But even if we implemented the ideal solution... there is always a possibility
of a mistake there (a mistake during config upgrade). So it may still be good
to have the "do you want to try resetting configuration to see if it helps?"
safety net as well.
