https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430800 Bug ID: 430800 Summary: Plasmashell crash after using Plasma Integration Firefox extension to begin playback Product: plasmashell Version: 5.20.4 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: drkonqi Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: wolfgangmcq+acct-bugs.kde@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Application: plasmashell (5.20.4) Qt Version: 5.15.2 Frameworks Version: 5.77.0 Operating System: Linux 5.4.0-58-generic x86_64 Windowing system: X11 Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.20 -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: I was playing some music from a page in Firefox. (Plasma Integration 1.7.6, on Firefox 83.0.) This was a page loaded via my local public library's EZProxy, which caused Plasma to complain with a dialog box about a certificate error when the music started playing; I told it to continue anyway but keep the exception only for this session. I paused the music and later put the computer to sleep. Some time later I woke the computer back up, hit the play button on the lock screen (which started the music playing), and put my password in. After the computer unlocked, I saw the same certificate error dialog, and dealt with it in the same way as before. Immediately thereafter, Plasma crashed, and I couldn't hear the music any more, although the page was still playing. After it had automatically restarted I discovered that the headphone output was now muted; when I unmuted it the sound came back as expected. I've tried a couple times to reproduce this by pausing the music again, putting the computer to sleep, waking it up, and hitting play on the lock screen; but I haven't gotten either the cert error or the crash. The crash does not seem to be reproducible. -- Backtrace: Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault [New LWP 1379] [New LWP 1388] [New LWP 1477] [New LWP 1502] [New LWP 1503] [New LWP 1504] [New LWP 1505] [New LWP 1621] [New LWP 1622] [New LWP 1693] [New LWP 1702] [New LWP 2303] [New LWP 2353] [New LWP 2394] [New LWP 6419] [New LWP 86830] [New LWP 87490] [New LWP 87840] [New LWP 96446] [New LWP 96447] [New LWP 96448] [New LWP 96449] [New LWP 96450] [New LWP 96451] [New LWP 96452] [New LWP 96453] [New LWP 96454] [New LWP 96455] [New LWP 96456] [New LWP 96457] [New LWP 96458] [New LWP 96459] [New LWP 96460] [New LWP 96461] [New LWP 381623] [New LWP 468827] [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1". 0x7f5fbff87aff in __GI___poll (fds=0x7ffee68e48e8, nfds=1, timeout=1000) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7f5fbc1e93c0 (LWP 1365))] Thread 37 (Thread 0x7f5eb27fc700 (LWP 468827)): #0 0x7f5fbff87aff in __GI___poll (fds=0x7f5ecc095160, nfds=3, timeout=-1) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 #1 0x7f5f876a01d6 in ?? [palapeli] [Bug 430798] New: palapeli commit 4404144fa can't find goldberg slicer, segfaults at startup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430798 Bug ID: 430798 Summary: palapeli commit 4404144fa can't find goldberg slicer, segfaults at startup Product: palapeli Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: slicers Assignee: majew...@gmx.net Reporter: 1i5t5.dun...@cox.net CC: kde-games-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Live-git frameworks/plasma/release-service/palapeli via gentoo/kde's overlay packages. Qt 5.15.2, cmake 3.19.2. Probably doesn't matter for this bug but I'm on kwin_wayland by default now. Current head commit 4404144fa "Port slicer plugin loading to KPluginLoader" is broken. It builds, but palapeli segfaults on startup with this message to konsole if I've started it from there: Could not find slicer "palapeli_goldbergslicer". As expected given the git log, head-1, f7375190e, builds and runs fine. Should there be one or more slicer *.json files replacing the old slicer *.desktop files? I don't see any in the package's file-list. Searching the build output I see: [17/87] cd /tmp/portage/kde-apps/palapeli-/work/palapeli-/slicers && /usr/bin/desktoptojson -i palapeli_goldbergslicer.desktop -o /tmp/portage/kde-apps/palapeli-/work/palapeli-_build/slicers/palapeli_goldbergslicer.json Warning: Unable to find service type for service "Libpala/SlicerPlugin" listed in "/tmp/portage/kde-apps/palapeli-/work/palapeli-/slicers/palapeli_goldbergslicer.desktop" (:0, ) Generated "/tmp/portage/kde-apps/palapeli-/work/palapeli-_build/slicers/palapeli_goldbergslicer.json" ...and similar for jigsaw and rect. Could that warning have something to do with it? There's no *.json files in the install phase (either the build-system's install to temp-location or the later gentoo-pkg level qmerge from there to the live system). Of course the kservices5 slicer *.desktop files along with kservicetypes5/libpala-slicerplugin.desktop are gone and the qt5/plugins/*slicer.so files are moved into the palapelislicers subdir. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwallet-pam] [Bug 400929] kwallet-pam errors when logging into Plasma from lightdm
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400929 --- Comment #17 from stefano.al...@gmail.com --- The previous patch I had posted was actually a quick fix, since, as I wrote, I didn't really find out the cause of the problem with listen. However, upon further inspection, it turned out that the problem was caused by closing all the file descriptors greater than 2 before calling socket. By adding some debug code I found out that the socket was given file descriptor 3, and calling getsockopt with SO_TYPE on this fd always returned 2, which is SOCK_DGRAM, regardless of which type of socket was required in the call to socket. I don't know the reason for this behavior, the only thing I noticed is that when execute_kwallet is called the file descriptor 3 is indeed assigned to another socket, but I've no clue on the origin of this socket. Since we don't want kwallet to inherit irrelevant file descriptors from his parent, I replaced the call to close with a call to fcntl, which sets the FD_CLOEXEC flag. This solves the problem and should prevent undesired fd inheritance as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kactivitymanagerd] [Bug 419499] Switch activity shortcut order
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419499 Oded Arbel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||o...@geek.co.il --- Comment #11 from Oded Arbel --- I think I have the same issue as reported, but the behavior I see now - with Plasma 5.20.80 from Neon unstable is as follows: Setup: 3 available activities, lets call them A, B and C. Behaviors: 1. When on any activity, hitting the "Walk through activities" key once (and releasing all keys) will switch to the previously used activity. Hitting it again will switch back. 2. When holding the modifier keys after releasing the TAB (my setup is custom and I'm using multiple modifiers), the activities bar remains open and shows the activity list in their iteration order (like with the window switcher) so hitting the TAB key again will switch to the next activity in the list and then the next until the modifiers are released. All this is fine. The issue I have is that the order the activities are shown in the activity bar and iterated over, when not releasing the modifier keys between switching, is a bit weird: Lets say we are starting in activity A. Activating the shortcut and holding the modifiers - the desktop switches to B, and shows the activity bar with B selected with the following order: B, A, C. So activating the shortcut again - without releasing modifiers - would bring you back to activity A, and only then to C. Compare that to the window switcher: I have 3 windows, I'm on A with the previous B and I want to get to C - hold ALT, press TAB once (get to B) and again (get to C). But with the activity switcher - hold modifiers, press TAB once (get to B) press TAB again (get back to A) pres TAB a third time (get to C). I think what happens here is that the activity manager - on invoking "Walk through activities" - first switches to the last previously used activity and only then shows the activity bar with all activities sorted by (the post switch) LRU order, while the "walk through windows" shortcut first lists the LRU windows and only then switches, so that when the window switcher UI appears, the current window is always the second on the list. The problem becomes very apparent when you combine it with the reverse action: - Window switcher, with A,B,C as LRU order: hold ALT, press TAB, hold ALT and SHIFT, press TAB, release modifiers - you are now at A. - Activity switcher, with A,B,C as LRU order: hold modifiers, press TAB, hold modifiers and SHIFT, press TAB, release modifiers - you are now at C. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
