Quotes rendering in mupdf 1.18 (above) and Okular (below)

(In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #8)
> Yuri you originally said it worked for you but now you say that evince also
> fails for you?

It works for the snippet from the reporter's screenshot but does not work in
the other place (see my screenshot).

> Can you confirm if you get good rendering with Okular?

The quotes from the reporter's snippet are rendered correctly in both Okular
and Evince on my machine (Microsoft's Arial and DejaVu Sans substitution).

Another hint: using gdm as loginmanager makes the problem completely disappear.
It's anyway the better solution as gdm doesn't need a running X server any more
(it's pure Wayland). The parallel running X server leads to a hanging system if
you're logging out (ok - other problem - at least on Leap 15.2 actually).

Managed to debug a locally compiled build and pinpointed the crash to sensors
of type SENSORS_FEATURE_IN and SENSORS_FEATURE_CURR. So that if
makeSensorsFeatureSensor() returns nullptr on those types, ksystemstats works
fine with all the other sensors in my system (2 fans and a lot of
temperatures). Alternatively, it also works if SensorsFeatureSensor::update()
returns immediately on feature names "in0_input" or "curr1_input".

I saw this on the desktop. IMO it would be weird on the phone too, but I'll
defer to others there.

What wouldn't be weird is showing a window that actually highlights the changes
so you can see all the cool new stuff you just got. That would be a whole
'nother kettle of fish, though. :)

I have deleted this email from my inbox as well as permanently deleted it from
my deleted and recoverable folders using the web interface but it is still

Git commit 02459d3e1c20fc0b9c503e84d182f1504bd26a74 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 26/05/2021 at 01:58.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Set up DBus stuff properly in install-sessions.sh script

This is an extremely fiddly procedure well-suited for being automated
rather than documented.

The approach taken here should work for all distros, even those that
freak out if system DBus files are modified or symlinked into a home
directory.

[kmail2] [Bug 427738] "POP3 Account" stays as the name for each email I set up; have to check setting each time to tell which it is!

2021-05-25 Thread Ricardo J. Barberis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427738

--- Comment #3 from Ricardo J. Barberis  ---
Hmm, after searching the code for "POP3 Account" I found this 2 lines:

https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/accountwidget.cpp#L132
https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/pop3resource.cpp#L43

Which made me think that naming/renaming the accounts should work.

And it did!

Maybe it's a bug only during creation of the accounts?

Just in case, this is what I did:

- Opened kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were "POP3
Account"
- Edited one by one changing their names, it still showed "POP3 Account" in the
list but editing them again showed the right name inside
- Closed kmail
- Stopped akonadi and started it again
- Started kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were those i
set!

In newer versions, kmail (and any other application) should remember its size
and position automatically, no need for windows rules. At least that works for
me.

Can some of you please confirm that it still happens with a recent version of

[Akonadi] [Bug 437688] New: Cannot download email from office365.com via IMAP

2021-05-25 Thread Aaron Williams
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437688

Bug ID: 437688
   Summary: Cannot download email from office365.com via IMAP
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.17.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: aar...@doofus.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Akonadi is getting stuck on this email. I am wondering if it is related to
Bug# 403903 since I have seen the same throttling on IMAP when my laptop
attempts to sync all IMAP email. At some earlier point I debugged IMAP to
Office365 to also returning throttling responses.

In any event, Akonadi is getting stuck on the following email. Note that I
have stripped out a lot of identifying information since this is a work
account. This account contains a lot of emails going back over 10 years.

I repeatedly get the following output from Akonadi:

org.kde.pim.kimap: The stream parser raised an exception: Unable to read more
data

Here is the email it keeps barfing on:

Does that mean the option(resizing) cannot be applied for some image formats so
that you had to seperate the feature?

How about combining Export and Export Advanced and make it so that resizing
optoin is grayed out when unavaliable format is selected?

I think the reason was that for some file formats there is no options, so now
it would show an option to resize, which means it's one step more than needed.

Hello Milian, thank you for replying.

It seems to be reproducable with following docker image:
--
FROM ubuntu:latest

ENV DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive

RUN apt-get update && apt-get install -y heaptrack gdb clang-11
--

1. docker run --cap-add=SYS_PTRACE --security-opt seccomp=unconfined
2. Create file test.cc with following content:
---
int main(int argc, char** argv)
{
  while(1){
int* a = new int(10);
delete a;
  }

  return 0;
}
---
3. Build it 'clang++-11 test.cc -o test'
4. Start it and get its PID
5. Attach heaptrack using the PID 'heaptrack -d -p PID'
6. Heaptrack output:

heaptrack output will be written to "//heaptrack.test.1481.gz"

I would seriously raise the priority of this since as of now I cannot use KMail

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Plus, Why don't you just combine these option features to normal Exporting?
Since users can choose what they want to apply to the output anyway, separating
some of them to 'Advanced Exporting' looks like an unnecessary complication.

[frameworks-knewstuff] [Bug 437686] New: GHNS dialog doesn't have an intuitive close button

2021-05-25 Thread Lua
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437686

Bug ID: 437686
   Summary: GHNS dialog doesn't have an intuitive close button
   Product: frameworks-knewstuff
   Version: 5.82.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ad...@leinir.dk
  Reporter: lv215...@anonaddy.me
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 138794
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138794=edit
GHNS dialog

SUMMARY
Prior to Plasma 5.21, modal dialogs had the close button just like regular
windows, but not anymore. The window close button was light/dark, giving a lot
of contrast, so it was very noticeable; now, the close button is red, which
still gives contrast. However, the new modal design dialog doesn't have a
intuitive close button. Personally, I think is hard to recognize the close
button.

OBSERVED RESULT
There is too many elements in the dialog and the close button gets lost.

EXPECTED RESULT
Modal dialogs should have a more noticeable close button at the bottom or have
the close button back in the titlebar.

--- Comment #1 from David Jarvie  ---
The alarm edit dialog also showed the audio file name in the encoded format.
This is now fixed both when editing the alarm and when creating a template from
the alarm. The fix will be in KAlarm version 3.2.2, which will be in KDE
applications release 21.04.2.

When I tried to play 4k video footage straight after switching to wayland from
X11, google-chrome crashed in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5WaylandClient.so.5 .
When I removed ~/.config/google-chrome I could get to playing 4k footage again.
Then I pressed CTRL+SHIFT+i, and I looked up media tab (via more tools) in
built-in info/debug browser right section tool. For wayland you can see
"Decoder name:Dav1dVideoDecoder" and "Hardware decoder: false" whereas for X11
you can see "Decoder name:VideoDecoderAccelerator" and "Hardware decoder:true".

I think that the advanced settings of the SDDM (the "Behavior..." button) might

Thanks!
Yeah the idea was mainly to take the most possible advantage out of system
monitor. I really like this possibility of extensively monitoring my system
which, as in many other cases, only KDE allows for.

So far, though having had a hard time, I've managed to upload them to
store.kde.org (which switches to pling when I upload stuff, and gets buggy).
You should be able to see them!
As soon as I can I will look for systemmonitor's repo and try to do a merge
request there too.

Ok, please report back with that frameworks version, but I can't off-hand think
of anything.

If you do manage to gdb into kwin
(sudo gdb --pid `pidof kwin_x11`)

please type
"set logging on"
"bt"

it will create a file called gdb.txt that will indicate

It would also be useful to know if aggressively killing kwin_x11 helps unlock
the situation.

Git commit edef8135d2544fb9ab6f63e16693b589d0d5d246 by Christoph Roick.
Committed on 25/05/2021 at 21:54.
Pushed by cullmann into branch 'master'.

Limit shortcut context to active view for Reuse Word Above/Below

The current default calls the corresponding action
for every split view which leads to an error message.
Qt::WidgetWithChildrenShortcut limits the call to
the current view, as in kateview.cpp.
