[frameworks-kinit] [Bug 434290] After re-login, sometimes kdeinit5 takes 30 seconds to start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434290 Matt Fagnani changed: What|Removed |Added CC||matthew.fagn...@utoronto.ca --- Comment #10 from Matt Fagnani --- When I've logged out of Plasma 5.22.3 with KF 5.83.0 and Qt 5.15.2 and earlier on Wayland in a Fedora 34 KDE Plasma installation then logged in again, Plasma was delayed by 30 seconds when starting remaining on the splash screen for that long. The desktop icons took another 30 seconds to appear. Certain KDE programs such as Dolphin and Gwenview took 30 seconds to start. The file selection dialogs in Qt-based programs like VLC took 30 seconds to start. The most relevant messages in the journal when this delay happened were like kded5[9321]: kf.dbusaddons: 'kdeinit5' is taking more than 30 seconds to start. The journal when logging in to Plasma on Wayland was delayed after logging out as the same user is attached at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1985151 I first noticed this problem when logging out from Plasma on Wayland as one user then logging into Plasma on Wayland as a second user. This problem happened most of the time when doing so over the last few weeks at least. I had set KillUserProcesses=yes in /etc/systemd/logind.conf to stop the user session processes during that time. I changed that to #KillUserProcesses=yes in /etc/systemd/logind.conf. After that change, Plasma and other programs were delayed by 30 seconds when I logged out as one user and logged in again as the same user. These observations led me to think that some processes or files were left over after ending the first Plasma session which might be kdeinit5_shutdown and /tmp/startkdeinitlock as I describe below. A similar report about Dolphin taking 30 s to start noted that /tmp/startkdeinitlock was left after logging out as userA and logging in as userB at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439606 I noticed that /tmp/startkdeinitlock was present when the Plasma startup delay happened, but not otherwise. /tmp/startkdeinitlock was a text file containing 9014 kdeinit5_shutdown localhost.localdomain The kdeinit5_shutdown process was running when the problem happened, but it wasn't running when the problem wasn't happening. kdeinit5_shutdown and /tmp/startkdeinitlock seemed to be left over from the first Plasma session, and they might be blocking Plasma and other programs from starting normally. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create simplest possible harx 1px brush (disable all the flow etc. settings) 2. Try very quickly drawing a few rounded shapes 3. Enter brush setting and very quickly drawing similar shape on the scratchpad. OBSERVED RESULT 1. Drawing on the scratchbad works as it should: fluid, very responsive, shapes are properly rounded exactly as mouse was moved - comparable experience to commercial products like Clip Paint Studio. Feels like 500 Hz, comparable to mouse input events rate. 2. Drawing on the canvas is absolutely painful. Sluggish, shapes are more square than round, doesn't feel responsive at all. Feels like 30 Hz. I am attaching screenshot illustrating difference in the results. EXPECTED RESULT Drawing on the canvas working similarily smooth to drawing on the scratchpad in brush settings. Without that whole drawing experience is just ruined - like half information from mouse is lost, rounded shapes are turned into squares, etc. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 21H1 (19043.1110) macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CPU: i5-6600K GPU: GTX 960 (driver 471.11) RAM: 16 GB I've tried both Direct3D and OpenGL modes - same results. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421822 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Latest Commit||https://invent.kde.org/grap ||hics/okular/commit/c399a110 ||54fffafb86938077a0591c05a4a ||3511c Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|ASSIGNED|RESOLVED --- Comment #31 from Nate Graham --- Git commit c399a11054fffafb86938077a0591c05a4a3511c by Nate Graham, on behalf of David Hurka. Committed on 22/07/2021 at 21:05. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'release/21.08'. Fix Page Up/Down scrolling when scrollbars are turned off PageView::slotScrollUp/Down() queried the size of the scrollbar instead of the viewport, which has no obvious reason and doesn’t work when scrollbars are not there. [okular] [Bug 421040] Mouse warp effect can't be disabled (wrap to opposite screen edge at drag srolling)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421040 Eduardo changed: What|Removed |Added CC||zl...@hotmail.com --- Comment #14 from Eduardo --- Hi, I'm another user that's annoyed by this feature. Sometimes I drag the document down, unintentionally slightly crossing the bottom edge of the display, so when I release I find that my cursor is at the very top of the screen, while my mouse is at the physical bottom edge of my mouse pad. So I have to lift the mouse and reposition it. I think it is fair to have an option under "Settings -> Configure Okular -> General -> Enable scrolling beyond screen edges". It could be enabled by default, so current users wouldn't even notice the change, but users would quickly find how to disable it if they wanted to. I know I tried to look for this, only to be frustrated there was no way to disable it. As an alternative suggestion, maybe the feature could be altered to make the mouse cursor stay at the edge of the screen while virtually dragging beyond the edge. So endless scroll would still be possible, just the cursor wouldn't warp to the opposite edge, ie. if the user drags the document down, the document would continue to scroll as long as the user keeps dragging the mouse down, but the cursor itself would remain constrained at the bottom of the screen, not warping to the top. This would prevent accidental warps that happens when the user unintentionally pushes just a bit over the edge. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[korganizer] [Bug 440147] KOrganizer doesn't show imported .ical calendar (but uploads it to the server successfully)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440147 --- Comment #2 from Szőts Ákos --- Sorry, I was indeed vague on my setup. So I received the .ical file from someone who created that on their Google Calendar. I have a CalDAV server on my own machine to which KOrganizer is connected. I opened the received .ical file in KMail for processing by KOrganizer. The local CalDAV server successfully stored the event by KOrganizer (which I can verify in an other calendar application). Yes, the calendar is enabled. I tried to turn it on/off multiple times now and it correctly shows/hides all the events for that calendar with the exception of this one. Akonadiconsole completely correctly shows the event (I could find it by the local UUID). Its payload tab is perfectly showing the details. The event doesn't have a VTODO section, only a VEVENT. I'm now anonymising the .ics file and I'll try to reproduce the bug with it. If it's successful, I'll send the file to your e-mail address. Ps.: I tried to import the same file multiple times (because it said it was successful - see Bug 440145) and even in case of multiple imports the entry wasn't shown (though the conflicting UUID must have had some influence on it). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Planet KDE] [Bug 440164] New: Entries coming from PeerTube feeds should show the thumbnail of the video in the web feed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440164 Bug ID: 440164 Summary: Entries coming from PeerTube feeds should show the thumbnail of the video in the web feed Product: Planet KDE Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: feeds Assignee: j...@jriddell.org Reporter: paul.br...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 140263 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=140263=edit Entries coming from YouTube show a clickable thumbnail of the video SUMMARY The web feed at https://planet.kde.org/ should show a preview or thumbnail of a PeerTube video as it does with YouTube videos. It should also not mangle the paragraphing of the description of the video as it currently does. Maybe this can be avoided by just showing the title of the video, instead of the full description. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
