[kwin] [Bug 172921] Dialog Parent conflicts with eyedropper
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172921 --- Comment #20 from Tyson Tan --- No, I can confirm this issue still happens in KolourPaint and KColorSchemeEditor. To simple KDE art-related apps, notably in KolourPaint, our MSPaint equivalent, this bug still cause the app's color picker (which is a core function) to be basically useless. Users of this kind of simple MSPaint equivalent rely heavily on picking color on canvas, this bug makes it impossible to do so, and on that note, greatly reduced the usability of the app. It once affected Krita's color picker, which makes this bug even more important in my opinion. Disabling Dialogue Parent effect has been the first-to-do after installing a system for years now. However in today's test, I found out that Krita now seems to have implemented some kind of workaround to this. When I use Krita's Palette color picker, it doesn't darken the main window anymore. For a bug that causes KDE apps to lose a core function ONLY on KDE's own platform, I think this needs to be fixed or Dialogue Parent effect should be disabled by default. It makes no sense to break a core function for some superfluous visual effect. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[neon] [Bug 445099] New: Program freeze when setting file path
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445099 Bug ID: 445099 Summary: Program freeze when setting file path Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: janbern...@gmail.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 143299 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=143299=edit Screenshot of OBS and System Monitor directly after OBS freeze SUMMARY KDE Neon freshly installed and packages updated. NVidida drivers installed. Setting folder path in selected programs causes program to freeze. Way to unfreeze is kill program via system monitor. Manually typing path seems to be the only way to set them. Observed in: OBS QBittorrent Not observed in: VLC Firefox Similarities between OBS and Qbit: Both load xdg-dbus-proxy when started, and kioslave5 before freezing. VLC and Firefox lack xdg-dbus-proxy, only open kioslave5. sudo apt-get install --reinstall xdg-dbus-proxy doesn't help. Problem was also observed on a newly flashed KDE Neon install usb stick with QBittorrent. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install OBS via Discover 2. Open Settings > Output > Record Path 3. Manually choose path, window opens, then freezes. 4. Optionally try on fresh install stick. OBSERVED RESULT Freeze EXPECTED RESULT Select folder to save files in /home/user/videos SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
