[plasmashell] [Bug 447561] New: Always show window titles (when combining windows into a single button is disabled)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447561 Bug ID: 447561 Summary: Always show window titles (when combining windows into a single button is disabled) Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.4 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: groszdaniel...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 For several years, the Task Bar only shows the icons of the applications once the items get narrower than some threshold, I presume for aesthetic reasons. (I mean the normal Task Bar, not the Icons Only one of course). I think I've realized why this doesn't bother most people: I guess most people the option to group windows, and combine them into a single button, enabled; since they can tell the application by the icon, there is no harm in hiding the title. However, I've always disabled window grouping/combining, so that I can get to any window with one click. And even one letter can help disambiguate windows of the same application. You could add an option whether to show the icon only when taskbar items get narrow. However, the above suggests another option that avoids cluttering the settings with another check box: always show the beginning of window titles (however little there is space for) when the "Combine into single button" option is disabled, but retain the current behavior when it's enabled. The current behavior is probably fine for those who enable that option, while those who disable it would likely to prefer to see the first letter or two of the title than to just see identical icons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Discover] [Bug 443555] Discover takes up to ~5 minutes to fetch updates due to flatpak backend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443555 --- Comment #26 from guimarcalsi...@gmail.com --- I installed Neon Unstable on a Virtual Machine and here are the results: At first, it didn't want to load the apps with an appstream error (sorry, I don't remember it). Then I tried making Flatpak the default source. Upon restarting Discover it would prompt me to add Flathub. Pressing the button did nothing to me. Then I went into Discover's settings, removed FlatHub, and re-added it. Now, at least on a VM, it's working perfectly. It takes no time to load the Flatpak list, it's instant! While I was writing this, I re-installed the same Neon image to see if I could find what that appstream error was, but for some reason now the experience was different. It gave me this error after a while trying to load Flatpaks for the first time (this error is different than the first one): "Error deploying appstream: Error moving file /var/lib/flatpak/appstream/flathub/x86_64/.1cbe9f93f6ab5938f2d7523e2db1b7107348e55eb8dc583308dc39123ccd943-W284E1: File exists" Then I restarted Discover and everything was working as intended. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392434 Emmett Culley changed: What|Removed |Added CC||lst_man...@webengineer.com --- Comment #4 from Emmett Culley --- I can also reprat this issue. I first discoverd it when a user complained she coud not access a file I created on an NFS4 share. I don't see this issue if I use fish:// to access any directory, local or remote. We are on fully updated fedora 34 and 35 systems, and this has been a problem for quite awhile, through many Fedora updates, possibly as far back as fedora 18 (arbitrary number). Unti now I've usually just run chmod -R g+w on the share on the file server, then went about my business. I have put it off too long and so did a bit of investigation. This happens on both Konqueror and Dolphin. It never happens in Konsole. Meaning that if I open Konsole and cd to /fs1/work (the nfs share), and create a file or directory, the permissions are set to 664 and 2775 (SGID is set for all directories) as expected with a umask of 002 for all users. Note that the umask on both servers and clients are set to 002. [kmail2] [Bug 359111] Message list shows sender name instead of receiver name
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359111 Erik Quaeghebeur changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bugs.kde@e3q.eu --- Comment #1 from Erik Quaeghebeur --- The smart theme uses a ‘sender’ field that is actually a ‘sender or receiver’ field, where the choice depends on the folder type. It is unclear to me actually how to determine the folder type. Anyway, to solve it, go to View > Message List > Theme > Configure… Then clone the smart theme; give the cloned theme a nice name; in the cloned theme definition's Appearance tab, drag the ‘Sender’ out into the list of fields above (it is actually the sender/receiver) and then drag the real ‘Sender’ in its place (right click to get the option to soften). So in some sense, this bug report is not really about a bug, but about a potentially confusing feature. SUMMARY When adding tags to an image they don't "register" in the program. The image itself gets the tags added, but gwenview doesn't allow me to filter images by tag, and the drop downs for selecting tags are empty. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open image in gwenview. 2. On the Information tab of the side panel, next to "Tags:" click the "Edit" link. 3. Type in the name of the tag (e.g. "test"), click the "+" button, and close the dialog. 4. Click on the "Browse" button to display all images in the current folder. 5. Click on "Add Filter" and select "Filter by Tag". 6. In the filter, select "Tagged". OBSERVED RESULT Notice that no tags are available to be selected in the dropdown, and typing in the tag name doesn't do anything. EXPECTED RESULT The dropdown would offer available tags that were created previously to be selected and filtered by, and they would be searchable by typing. [akregator] [Bug 447552] New: Changes to medium font size are not kept once Configure dialog is closed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447552 Bug ID: 447552 Summary: Changes to medium font size are not kept once Configure dialog is closed Product: akregator Version: 5.18.1 Platform: Debian testing OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: internal browser Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: bren...@quantumfurball.net Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Akregator has trouble keeping the user-specified medium font size applied, and tends to reset it to the default size. It also misreports the medium font size in the Configure dialog when this has happened, showing the user's value and not the value actually being used. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure Akregator -> Appearance 2. Set Medium font size to something, e.g. 13pt. 3. Click Apply. Notice text in the article pane does get larger. 4. Click OK. Notice text in the article pane goes back to the original (10pt) size. 5. Configure Akregator -> Appearance 6. Notice that Medium font size still says "13pt". 7. Restart Akregator. 8. Configure Akregator -> Appearance 9. Notice that Medium font size now says "10pt" - "13pt" was forgotten. OBSERVED RESULT Something causes the user-specified size to be reset to the default 10pt, as observed on the article pane. The Configure dialog isn't updated to reflect this. EXPECTED RESULT The user-specified font size is kept.
