[dolphin] [Bug 441068] Dolphin is unable to search file names n unidexed directories
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441068 tagwer...@innerjoin.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- Comment #2 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- (In reply to Nathan Colinet from comment #1) > Still there, the end user expects such a feature to actually work. No error > reported, nothing. Very frustrating. I'm missing a few steps along the way :-) If I'm in Neon and plug in a USB (you are talking about removable media), the USB appears under /media/myusername/myusb or similar. This won't be indexed by baloo and if you search dolphin will give you a prompt like: https://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=137170 By contrast if baloo has indexed (has been told to index) the folders, dolphin "knows" this and will give a prompt with more options: https://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=137169 If you go to /media/myusername/myusb and do a Ctrl-F to search, dolphin will search "there and then" through the subfolders and present the results. It's doing the scanning "there and then" so it's slower and you might have to wait for the results to be presented. Dolphin relies on a process "filenamesearch" to do this work. In order to see the results, you *will* need to select the "Filename", rather than "Content", option and "From Here (myusb)" rather than "Your Files". I can say, in Neon, the above "magic" works but let's look one step at a time... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447449 --- Comment #8 from Creatrix --- We cannot mark this as resolved, the missing .dll file is missing in the Krita directory, not the windows directory, so it is not that the operating system is not supported. If the .dll file is missing in the program directory then it was never in the file directory with the initial installation of the program, which means that Krita potentially has a virus linked to it, virusses and malware are a main reason as to why .dll files go missing and it usually happens when you install downloaded software from the internet (i.e Krita). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448185 --- Comment #3 from Nils --- It would be nice to have a way to import such tickets via a photo or the barcode text read via other means. [plasmashell] [Bug 429168] wayland: taskmanager and icons-only taskmanager only show pinned, no running
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429168 --- Comment #13 from Duncan <1i5t5.dun...@cox.net> --- (In reply to agzgtrtvquysegfqtl from comment #12) > So at least I think it's not polkit. Interesting. Thinking it was polkit had de-prioritized it further for me. So (for me personally) that has both good and bad implications; good, in that there's a chance it could work here (without polkit which isn't a cost I considered worth it); bad, in that now I can't just excuse not looking into it further with that. =:^\ Meanwhile, if you're still seeing the same message, that means it hasn't changed... tho it's worth keeping in mind that tho it's the best/only real lead so far we don't /know/ it's related to the bug -- it could just be typical non-fatal noise that always occur with the plasmoid, whether it works or not, due to changes to the underlying system that the plasmoid hasn't kept up with. Unfortunately the devs seem to be much better about adding deprecation warnings and the like than they are about following up on them, and the output of kde apps is *notoriously* *noisy* in this regard as a result, making troubleshooting harder instead of easier. =:^( -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
