https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454195 Bug ID: 454195 Summary: panel/applet/desktop/desktop icons context menu is dismissed when a notification time outs Product: kwin Version: 5.24.90 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dev.bacterios...@aleeas.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 149099 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149099=edit screen recording SUMMARY When a notification times out, it also closes context menu of panel, applets or desktop icons if any of them are open. This does not happen with a context menu inside an application window. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Trigger a notification using: notify-send "test" 2. Wait for the notification to time out OBSERVED RESULT The notification also dismisses the context menu with itself EXPECTED RESULT The context menu should stay open when notification time outs SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 Graphics platform: Wayland -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kde] [Bug 454194] New: System crash when connecting monitors via a USB hub
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454194 Bug ID: 454194 Summary: System crash when connecting monitors via a USB hub Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: h...@outlook.com.au Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Sometimes, when I plug my laptop into my USB-C dock, my system crashes, taking me back to the login screen and killing all my active tasks. This doesn't happen all the time, and is quite unpredictable, but seems to happen the most after startup. Since I get no error popups, I'm not sure where to get a traceback from, but if someone can tell me, I can try to grab one the next time I get a crash. If it helps, this is the list of other bugs I get with my dock: * Ethernet is broken unless I reconnect my dock after logging in. * The external displays frequently lose their settings, meaning I need to reconfigure my entire desktop for those displays again (I think this is 353975 or 427861). * Sometimes audio from the dock is very stuttery, and can only be fixed after a restart. * My system tray keeps removing its configuration so all the icons reappear, even though I've permanently hidden them. The crash seems to be more likely to happen if I connect the dock to a different USB port to usual. My dock is a Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect dock OBSERVED RESULT Everything crashes and I lose all my work, or my desktop loses all its settings, or my audio becomes stuttery, or the system tray resets. EXPECTED RESULT My external displays connect normally, keeping their standard settings and not breaking massively. [plasmashell] [Bug 454105] plasma panel widgets disappear/get misplaced randomly after reboot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454105 --- Comment #4 from Bacteria --- I use 2 panels and one of them had an application icon (spectacle) and that is the one where I am seeing this bug. The spectacle icon goes below the other widgets and there seems to be no way to remove it. One can only fix it by removing and adding the panel back. Temporarily I have removed the app icon from the panel and everything else seems to be working fine. Maybe the application icons seem to be the problem? Typing characters when the search box is defocused will focus the search box again and enter the character. Typing backspace or delete when the search box is defocused will only focus the text box again, and not delete any character. Furthermore, if search results appear under the mouse when typing, the search box immediately defocuses again. EXPECTED RESULT Search box should not ever defocus. I suspect this is the same kind of bug as this one in krunner (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70). If so, this might be a bug with frameworks concerning the search box widget/control. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415364 --- Comment #13 from Evert Vorster --- Here is some interesting new information that might cast some light on this bug: Under X11, I have the "Disable touchpad when mouse is plugged in" toggle. Under Wayland, the "Disable touchpad when mouse is plugged in" toggle is missing. This means with exactly the same setup disabling the mouse works under X11, but not under Wayland. I am absolutely stunned that things are implemented differently between X11 and Wayland, and that this functionality is missing in Wayland. My OS is Kubuntu The crash can be reproduced sometimes. -- Backtrace: Application: Kate (kate), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #4 0x7f2968ea7d98 in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #5 0x7f296aeade1c in QUimPlatformInputContext::commitString(QString const&) () at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/libuimplatforminputcontextplugin.so #6 0x7f296aeadeb0 in QUimPlatformInputContext::commit_cb(void*, char const*) () at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/libuimplatforminputcontextplugin.so #7 0x7f296272275d in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim.so.8 #8 0x7f29626f8766 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #9 0x7f29626f89e9 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #10 0x7f29626f7c81 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #11 0x7f29626f7def in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #12 0x7f29626f80a3 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #13 0x7f29626f89e9 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #14 0x7f29626f7c81 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #15 0x7f29626f8766 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #16 0x7f29626f89e9 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #17 0x7f29626fa28b in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #18 0x7f29626f874b in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #19 0x7f29626f89e9 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #20 0x7f2962707a15 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #21 0x7f29626e92f1 in GCROOTS_call_with_gc_ready_stack () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcroots.so.0 #22 0x7f2962707ae7 in uim_scm_callf () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim-scm.so.0 #23 0x7f2962725e3c in uim_focus_out_context () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libuim.so.8 #24 0x7f296aeab7c1 in QUimPlatformInputContext::unsetFocus() () at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/libuimplatforminputcontextplugin.so #25 0x7f2969284cdb in QGuiApplicationPrivate::_q_updateFocusObject(QObject*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Gui.so.5 #26 0x7f296928c735 in QGuiApplicationPrivate::processActivatedEvent(QWindowSystemInterfacePrivate::ActivatedWindowEvent*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Gui.so.5 #27 0x7f2969265a2c in QWindowSystemInterface::sendWindowSystemEvents(QFlags) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Gui.so.5 #28 0x7f2963c90d6e in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5XcbQpa.so.5 #29 0x7f2967147d1b in g_main_context_dispatch () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #30 0x7f296719c6f8 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #31 0x7f29671453c3 in g_main_context_iteration () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #32 0x7f2968f010a8 in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents(QFlags) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #33 0x7f2968ea674b in QEventLoop::exec(QFlags) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #34 0x7f2968eaece4 in QCoreApplication::exec() () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #35 0x5579b294173e in () #36 0x7f29687c3d90 in __libc_start_call_main (main=main@entry=0x5579b293ded0, argc=argc@entry=2, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc5964fed8) at ../sysdeps/nptl/libc_start_call_main.h:58 #37 0x7f29687c3e40 in __libc_start_main_impl (main=0x5579b293ded0, argc=2, argv=0x7ffc5964fed8, init=, fini=, rtld_fini=, stack_end=0x7ffc5964fec8) at ../csu/libc-start.c:392 #38 0x5579b29438d5 in _start () [Inferior 1 (process 12451) detached] Possible duplicates by query: bug 453795, bug 453716, bug 453454, bug 453234, bug 453227. [krita] [Bug 454171] Krita Crashes when making a new file/opening existing file
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454171 --- Comment #4 from mjarvihaavi...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Halla Rempt from comment #3) > That's pretty strange, since we've got a bunch of reports about crashes > recently that center on the file dialog that are all about platform > integration -- which the appimage doesn't support. You also mention flathub? I did mention flathub, yes. I apologise if I was not clear enough on this, but before I downloaded the newest appimage of Krita to test if my issue was present on the newest version, I had Krita already downloaded from flathub. It was working just fine before, but when I tried making a new file with it today, it didn't work as I was expecting it to. When I make a new file or open an existing one with the version on flathub, the welcome screen is still there. I can still resize docks and use the menus, like file, layers and the settings menu, but I could not see the canvas. That's when I tried the newest version, which I downloaded from the Krita website, and it simply crashes when I make or open a file. I wonder if this happened because I upgraded from Fedora 35 to Fedora 36? That's about the only thing I remember changing from the last time I tried Krita. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ktouch] [Bug 421794] dvorak-bépo dead keys (for î, û, â, ô, ï, ä, ë…) not recognised
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421794 juan changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jumase+fo...@disroot.org --- Comment #1 from juan --- Hi, I was wondering if «It seems also that Ktouch doesn't support […] other characters such as "…" or non no-break space» may be because those characters are missing in the original text from the exercise. You can check it out by clicking on the second option in the configuration wheel/menu on the upper right corner of the screen. It says something like «Course and keyboard layout editor...» There you'll be able to find your course and exercise. Then you tan copy the text and check it in a text editor. Or you may be referring to those keys not being able to get inserted in ktouch. If that is the case, then we have another problem, possibly not completely related to dead keys. As far as I can tell (I've never written with BÉPO) you insert those characters by pressing Shift and/or AltGr + some specific key, don't you? I tested it on ktouch and I can insert these kind of characters (i.e. @, æ, Æ, «, », €, µ, etc.), I mean the issue I experience is only related to dead keys. Please check also bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410876 where the dead keys issue is being discussed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I'll leave an attachment containing the terminal output as it may be useful. It's obtained from launching the software, loading an activity, trying to insert some dead key letters (á, à, ä, etc.), closing the exercise and finally exiting from the app. By the way, when failing to recognize dead keys, it won't display any particular message on terminal. I've also found another bug report that seem to be a duplicate of this one (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423822). Let me know if I should leave "marking as duplicate" to somebody else. I do so in the hope that we could better deal with this issue. I will mark it as confirmed as well, and update version number and title to better represent the issue. [systemsettings] [Bug 426788] Flatpak gtk applications opens without the breeze gtk theme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426788 Hasshu changed: What|Removed |Added CC||isvand.i.blo...@outlook.com --- Comment #13 from Hasshu --- Plasma 5.24.5 here, and this annoying issue persists: once every few reboots, some GTK-based software installed via Flatpak would get its appearance reset to default. Manually reapplying the GTK theme via the System Settings is enough to fix both the theme and the font(s) instantly. At times, it also can be fixed by simply rebooting the system, as the breakage seems to take place during startup. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to affect all software equally. For example, there was at least one time when Firefox (the primary offender) forgot its appearance settings, but LibreOffice (also GTK) did not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
