What were you doing when you got that error and what happened to KMyMoney? Did
it display the error in a window or crashed? CertCreateCertificateContext is a
Windows only function and KMyMoney does not reference it directly, so I can't
tell what the cause of this issue is.

replicate it in a landscape one (1920×1080 30fps) and the export looks alright,

Patch on 5.25beta to add font size settings

This is a patch on 5.25 beta. It adds an option (in digital clock's
configuration - appearence) to set font size. I'll try to submit it later.

To apply it:
> sudo bash
> cd /usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock/contents
> patch -p1 < digitalclock-fontsize.patch
> # restart plasmashell (systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service)

I don't know if this applies on 5.24, but you can have a try.

However, it doesn't fix the other problem mentioned above:
> With some fonts like "Snap ITC" and show seconds enabled, the width of this
> widget changes with time seconds changing, causing the whole task bar moves
> horizontally every second.
I guess this requires much greater change, where the widget should remember its
max width (when displaying 23:59:59 perhaps) and don't resize every second.

[layer-shell-qt] [Bug 454912] New: CMake build: "Optional" packages are actually required

2022-06-05 Thread A. Wilcox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454912

Bug ID: 454912
Summary: CMake build: "Optional" packages are actually required
   Product: layer-shell-qt
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: awil...@adelielinux.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The dependencies in layer-shell-qt's CMake file are all required, yet they are
marked as optional.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Build with required packages installed but optional packages not installed.

OBSERVED RESULT
Without wayland-protocols:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target '/stable/xdg-shell/xdg-shell.xml', needed
by 'src/wayland-xdg-shell-client-protocol.h'. Stop.

Without QtWaylandScanner:
/bin/sh: 1: QtWaylandScanner_EXECUTABLE-NOTFOUND: not found
make[2]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/LayerShellQtInterface.dir/build.make:106:
src/qwayland-wlr-layer-shell-unstable-v1.h] Error 127

EXPECTED RESULT
Either the build should succeed, or the packages should be listed as REQUIRED
instead of OPTIONAL in CMakeLists.txt.

Ok so I did the test using a Fedora KDE Live CD and suspending and resuming a

That would make sense, as we fixes some widget positioning issues in code that
was merged after the beta including this one, IIRC.

Please re-open if it happens again in the final 5.25 release. Thanks!

Yes, until you close the notification, the panel is just hidden, not actually
deleted. That's so you can undo deleting it using the notification.

We could probably block keyboard shortcuts that affect it when it's in this
state.

I noticed something interesting. When KRunner is working, if I quit it and
restart it with `krunner --replace` in a Konsole window, then it's broken from
krunner. I'm attaching a dump of the env differences between working krunner

I can't do anything about distribution repositories, I don't have access to
them and I don't even know which you are using. As far as I know the bug is
fixed in the latest release (until proven otherwise), which is available for
quite some time and I see a lot of 5.0.1's on

choice to update or switch to one which is more recent.

SUMMARY
When the sort order of items changes, due to renames or items being added, such
that the item being renamed is moved, the text input box does not move with the
item, and is 'left behind'. This occurs in all views (icons, compact, details).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Sort newest first.
2. Begin renaming a file.
3. Create a new file in that folder whilst renaming (sleep 3 && touch a.txt,
ssh, switch tty)

OBSERVED RESULT
The rename text input box does not move with the item, and stays in the same
location.

EXPECTED RESULT
The text input box should stay with the item being renamed.

Now, when the slideshow wallpaper changes, the accent color only changes when
plasmashell is restarted.

I did a git bisect and found that it's one of the commits in
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/1638, but
couldn't pinpoint the exact one because those commits are quite inter-related
and at plasma-workspace doesn't build when some of them are HEAD.

Crashing clients are the fault of the client. We may be doing something
different, but it crashing is still on the client.

As to why kickoff and krunner behave differently. the only difference could be
the env of both processes.

Get and compare with

cat /proc/`pidof plasmashell`/environ | tr '\0' '\n'
cat /proc/`pidof krunner`/environ | tr '\0' '\n'

at a time where things are breaking.

[plasmashell] [Bug 454906] New: Adding apps to the panel as widgets corrupt the panel's layout.

2022-06-05 Thread Lemuel Simon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454906

Bug ID: 454906
Summary: Adding apps to the panel as widgets corrupt the
panel's layout.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.24.90
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: lemuelsimo...@protonmail.com
CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 149491
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149491=edit
Video of the panel widget bug. (Ignore the graphical glitches, as my *real*
panel is set to autohide.) This bug can occur on a fresh install too, I've
reproduced it in the KDE Neon Testing image too.

SUMMARY
Adding an application to Plasma's panel as a widget will corrupt/destroy the
layout of all widgets on the panel, on restarting Plasmashell or logging-out
and in, rendering it unusable until the panel is deleted. (A video of the bug
was attached as well. The bug will be reproduced on the top panel, I don't want
to nuke my working panel again...)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE (WARNING: THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR PANEL.)
1. Open Kickoff.
2. Right click on any application.
3. Select 'Add to Panel (Widget)'
4. Restart Plasmashell by logging out and back in (or running `kquitapp5
plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell > /dev/null 2>&1`)
5. Watch Plasma's panel load corrupted.

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma's panel is corrupted; all widgets overlap one another to one corner (I'm
not sure if the direction is affected by the alignment settings).

EXPECTED RESULT
Widgets on Plasma's panel show normally.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.3
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.3.18-150300.59.68-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz
Memory: 7.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 2347G2U
System Version: ThinkPad T430

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm confident that this is a regression in the Plasma 5.25 Beta (5.24.90) as it
worked normally in 5.24.5. I've just upgraded yesterday (missed the Beta
Testing day...) and immediately after logging back in, this error occurred. I
can't remove the widget easily as I need to 'hover' over it first; that is
impossible as all widgets overlap one another. I cannot move the widgets on the
panel either, so I just removed the panel and started from scratch.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409040 smells as if it may apply, here,
too (and the attached MR
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/1861 continues to be open,
but a comment there suggests that the Nvidia 515 driver might improve matters?)

If timestamps are not accurate, and if kwin then does too much work, then this
might end up in consuming by far too much CPU.

Someone with domain expertise probably will shoot this down quickly :)

I think it would be very helpful to describe the physical connector setup you
are running.

Case in point: On X11, I have a setup where
* Intel iGPU (only) controls internal display and HDMI
* Nvidia dGPU (only) controls the USB-C output path (i.e. DisplayPort Alternate
Mode et al)
* Nvidia is in PRIME offload mode; Intel is primary

Now connect an external 4K screen to the Nvidia output path, i.e. USB-C /
DisplayPort.

Now the *Xorg* process starts consuming between 25% and 40% of one CPU on an
otherwise totally idle system.

Remove the 4K screen from the Nvidia output path, attach it to the HDMI port
(Intel)

Now Xorg is totally fine.

Some sleuthing with perf suggests that all that CPU is burnt on getting the
current system time (gettimeofday / clock_gettime) via vdso and kernel calls,
with this originating from the Nvidia driver (510).

[kwin] [Bug 452219] Low fps and high CPU usage on external monitor connected to NVIDIA when default GPU is Intel

2022-06-05 Thread Stefan Hoffmeister
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452219

Let me provide some details, observations, and confirmations which may be
helpful (based on v5.24.5 / Fedora 36):

* Wayland
* Notebook with Optimus setup - Intel iGPU + Nvidia dGPU
* Intel GPU has (exclusive) control over the internal display and the HDMI port
("connector")
* Nvidia GPU has (exclusive) control over the USB-C output path (i.e.
DisplayPort Alternate Mode, Thunderbolt Alternative Mode) ("connector")
* Intel is the default (boot) GPU (and cannot be changed)

Log into an empty desktop and attach a 4K external screen to USB-C (which ends
up in a DisplayPort bitstream). The Nvidia GPU remains in "PRIME offload" mode,
but obviously needs the data for presenting.

Any rendering of data strictly towards the Intel-controlled connector remains
smooth. Any rendering towards the Nvidia-controlled connector results in
* an extremely jerky mouse cursor, everything is laggy
* massive CPU load from the kwin_wayland process in response to anything that
requires drawing, even just moving the mouse cursor around

It *feels* almost as if the complete content associated with the 4K screen at
large is transferred even, just for moving the mouse cursor.

Running 'perf trace' suggests that an enormous amount of time is spent on
memmove / memcpy (via glibc optimized functions); the attached screenshot shows
that (and right now I do not know how to produce better diagnostic data)

I tried installing debug symbols via the Fedora service; this got lines
resolved in glibc (the memcpy), but nothing for the KDE process (qt_metacast
smells like dynamic dispatch, so I am not all that surprised).

I turned on DRM logs
(https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/wikis/Debugging-DRM-issues); there was
surprisingly few data, but not being familiar with the domain, I do not know
what to look for in those logs.

I can also confirm the observation that staying on the Intel GPU creates a
smooth experience: Disconnect the external screen from DisplayPort, attach it
to HDMI (Intel connector) - everything is smooth.

In closing, this is the Nvidia 510 driver, the most current driver available
for Fedora 36 from rpmfusion at the time of this writing.

KWIN_DRM_USE_MODIFIERS gates the use of those modifiers, but does not seem to
fix the problem.

I am on tag v5.25.5 (via Fedora 36) and looking at
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/blob/v5.24.5/src/backends/drm/egl_gbm_backend.cpp#L164
suggests that `export KWIN_DRM_USE_MODIFIERS=1` would force-enable use of
modifiers, even in the presence of an Nvidia GPU.

I have set KWIN_DRM_USE_MODIFIERS=1 (in an .../env startup script) and do not
see any change in behaviour in my scenario.

I have a 3 monitor setup on a AMD 6900XT GPU. All three have been working
recently. However, after an update the one monitor using Display Port does not
get a signal AFTER login to KDE Plasma in Fedora 36.

Tried in Fedora 36 in KDE 5.24.5. With kernel 5.17.12-300 and also trying
kernel 5.17.11 and 5.17.9.
This issue happens in Wayland and X11
The monitor does appear to show once logged in in Display Configuration (it's
there as in a space for it but it's blank space).

Tried installing LXQT DE and all three monitors work fine. It's just an issue
in KDE Plasma as far as I can test.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login to KDE Plasma (X11 or Wayland)

OBSERVED RESULT
2. After logging in two monitor (HDMI) initiate. The third monitory DP
connection gets a 'no signal' error and remains blank.

EXPECTED RESULT
3. 3rd monitor initializes

2022-06-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454900

Bug ID: 454900
Summary: Title size gets smaller after export
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 22.04.1
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: eda.f...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 149488
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149488=edit
TOP: Title as shown in Kdenlive's Project Monitor

SUMMARY
Title's font size in the exported video is smaller than in the Project Monitor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a new project (1080×1920 30fps)
2. Make a title (of any length and with text using any font) and add it to the
timeline
3. Export

OBSERVED RESULT
The title in the exported video appears smaller than Kdenlive shows in its
Project Monitor.
(played using VLC and FFmpeg player)

EXPECTED RESULT
The title should be of the same size as it appears in the Project Monitor in
Kdenlive.

[krita] [Bug 454899] New: Opacity keyboard shortcut - Finer Granularity

2022-06-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454899

Bug ID: 454899
Summary: Opacity keyboard shortcut - Finer Granularity
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.6
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: lokem...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug
symbols.
See
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Increase or decrease Opacity using keyboard shortcuts

OBSERVED RESULT
Changes increment by 10% overall

DESIRED RESULT
I would like a setting to change the granularity of this control, so that each
key press changes the Opacity by the chosen amount. Barring that, a much
smaller amount could be the default. As is, I don't use this feature, and I
suspect that it is not used much by Krita users (but rather they change Opacity
by using the slider and mouse). Personally, I would like to be able to raise
or lower the Opacity via keyboard by increments of 1%.
