[korganizer] [Bug 458532] New: Make "Calendar" column relevant

2022-08-30 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458532

Bug ID: 458532
   Summary: Make "Calendar" column relevant
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: todoview
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dinumar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I have a google account with multiple tasks folders. The folders are properly
displayed in the left calendar treeview.
On the tasks table list, in column "Calendar", for all tasks in all folders I
have the same value "johndoe's Google" which is not at all relevant. A value of
"Folder name ( john...@google.com )" would be much more useful, and/or if
calendar tree colors could be used in the tasks listing. At this point I could
find no way to visually identify a task's folder other than clicking on the
task and reading the left pane's details, which more appropriately list
"Calendar: johndoe's Folder name".

[Planet KDE] [Bug 458350] Remove Kevin Otten's "Web review" from Planet feed

2022-08-30 Thread Kevin Ottens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458350

Yeah well, I wish I could post more KDE content but lately... well... life. I
started this web review for two reasons:
 1. it's actually my coping strategy for the guilt of not finding the time to
write more original content
 2. I see it as a service to the KDE community to get a chance to see what
happens in other tech circles (I know very well how as a contributor we can
tend to not be exposed much to trends outside our bubble).

At least from the comments here and emails I received during the past year (2)
seems to be somewhat working I guess.

[kontact] [Bug 458518] Some Google Calendar events are not displayed in KOrganizer or Kalendar; Events confirmed to exist in Akonadi Console

2022-08-30 Thread Dave Connett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458518

(In reply to gjditchfield from comment #1)
> Please use akonadiconsole to look at the undisplayed events. Are you listed
> as an ATTENDEE? If so, this could be bug 436812.

Based on a few tests, I don't think they are the same bug.

Tests ran:
   1. I created an event with only myself, not recurring -> It displayed
   2. I had a friend create an event and send it to me, not recurring -> It
displayed
   3. I created an event with only myself, recurring every week -> Did not
display
   4. I changed RSVP to "Maybe" (previously a "Yes") to one of the recurring
(daily) events already on my calendar that was previously not appearing -> The
single event displayed
   5. I replied as a "Maybe" to the recurring event referenced in test #4, but
for the previous day -> Event #4 disappeared and this event displayed
   6. I changed test #4 RSVP from "Maybe" back to "Yes" -> event referenced in
test #5 disappeared, and event #4 displayed
   7. I changed RSVP to all recurring events referenced in tests 4, 5, and 6 ->
No change: event from test #4 is still the only one that displays in this
series

I have attached two files containing raw data from my Akonadi Console for two
events: one that is displaying as expected, and one that is not.

Here is the diff between to the two files:

It looks like it's something potentially related to event recurrence, though
there are many other parameters I didn't control for.

I can reproduce this bug on 5.1.0(on arch linux) with simpler example.

current_document = Krita.instance().activeDocument()
current_node = current_document.activeNode()
parent = current_node.parentNode()
children = parent.childNodes()
print([child.name() for child in children])
parent.setChildNodes(children)
children = parent.childNodes()
print([child.name() for child in children])

Example output:

['Selection Mask', 'Background', 'Paint Layer 1', 'diffusion 0', 'diffusion 1']
['Background', 'Paint Layer 1', 'diffusion 0', 'diffusion 1', 'Selection Mask']

I have had this bug happen rarely. I ignored it, it seemed to not happen for a
month or longer. It just happened again. The circumstances were: I had not used
my computer all day, when I entered the screenlock password, my desktop was a
grey screen with my mouse cursor. The only thing I could do besides
ctrl+alt+Fn, was alt+space to open KRunner and execute 'kstart5 plasmashell'
and the desktop appeared. No programs were shown in my task manager panel. I
clicked programs pinned to my task manager, and they started. Like vivaldi, I
had eight windows open up. Clicking any of the windows would open a new Vivaldi
window. Same for my foot window, or any other program. The workaround I
immediately used was right click worked properly and I could gain focus of
windows that way.

Comment 5 suggestion to click on the notification area fixed the left click
opening new windows back to normal selection mode, which is left-click places
windows on top when left-clicked in the task manager.

For the most part KDE works great for me, but I think there are a few, perhaps
wayland related, issues. I use three monitors. I add the following for
relatedness or completeness.

1) Maybe every other day, when the screensaver or screenlock is timed on, all
of my screens will display the same desktop image, instead of my desktop
spanning across three monitors. To fix this, I go into System Settings >
Display and Monitor, and re-arrange and re-size the overlayed monitor
rectangles to my normal desktop setup.

2) Daily, when I unlock my system from the screenlock, applications are somehow
re-arranged across my three monitors. Curiously, not all on the same monitor.

3) Daily but less frequently than apps re-arranging, opening menus (File, Edit,
etc) will not be placed as expected, they appear somewhere else floating on the
screen. Their position may be related to screen edges or corners. I can't
remember them appearing just in the middle randomly.

   Product: krita
   Version: 5.1.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

Evidence that square tool isn't accurate. Here it ended before I was done. I
have snapshots of the cursor tool but this thing only lets me add one snapshot.

SUMMARY
***
Tools are not accurate when trying to use to either select a specific area or
use the "paste at cursor" function. Targeting for these two tools seems to be
off.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select square select tool
2. drag over an area of varied height and length (not a perfect square)

1. Select Edit
2. Select "paste at cursor" with an image copied to clipboard

OBSERVED RESULT

Square select tool's result either appears to select an unintended section
early or ends early before area is selected. May even select an area that is
off to the left of desired area.

Paste at cursor tool makes the image appear to the right and below where the
cursor is by several pixels, making it be a good distance from where the cursor
actually is, rather than being next to or even beside where the cursor is on
the page.

EXPECTED RESULT

Windows: 10

Hello Steven! Just to set expectations accordingly, this is a bug tracker, not
a user support channel. So we can investigate the bug and fix it, but I can't
guarantee that you personally will experience it being fixed soon. See
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Have_realistic_expectations.

That said, we'll be happy to help investigate the bug! To proceed, we need a
backtrace of the crash. Can you attach one? If you're not familiar with the
process for how to do so, see

(I do see that we can manage those in the Settings -> Window Management ->

[kwin] [Bug 458527] New: "More Actions" missing useful items in context menu of application in taskbar

2022-08-30 Thread Jaggz H.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458527

Bug ID: 458527
Summary: "More Actions" missing useful items in context menu of
application in taskbar
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jagg...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Borderless windows, or those otherwise handling the decorations themselves,
like gThumb, do not have the titlebar to right-click for the window menu. It is
available from the taskbar, but the additional options like "Set window
shortcut", "Configure Special Window Settings", etc. do not appear in that
menu. (It seems those come from the application handling that context --
window manager in the case of the title bar, task manager in the case of the
menu from the entry in the taskbar -- so I'm not sure what can be done).
Nevertheless, those apps do exist, and not having access to the window
manager's settings, for that window, is/can be a problem when managing these
[irritating] apps that disable the window decorations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run any app (it doesn't have to be a borderless one)
2. Right-click the taskbar's entry for that app
3. See "More Actions" does not display the "Set Window Shortcut" option, or the
other important ones that are in that menu when accessed from the titlebar.

OBSERVED RESULT
"More Actions" menu missing "Set Window Shortcut", "Configure Special Window
Settings", etc.

EXPECTED RESULT
"More Actions" menu would allow us to access these options so we can manage
them (shortcuts, window overrides, etc.) even on titlebar-less windows.

Is it possible Elisa ignores the "jpeg" extension? When I renamed cover art in

Option A (`no-allow-external-cache`) is the correct solution IMO, if you want
to use a GPG wallet with Secret Service enabled. It breaks the circular

introducing race condition bugs, and using a feature of GnuPG that was intended

Options B and C (disable Sercret Service or not use a GPG wallet) are
alternatives that a user may choose depending on what they want to achieve.

But the `no-allow-external-cache` setting is pretty esoteric. Users trying to
set up a GPG wallet with Secret Service enabled would not usually know about
it, and will run into this issue. So it either needs to be set by KWallet when
needed (by calling `gpgconf`), or documented clearly enough for users to not
miss it.

So far what I have collected seems to indicate that it's the sum of all delays
from all back-ends the problem, which could also make sense, but I'm getting
different results on different tries of the same back-end.
I am going to make some more tests and come back once got consistent results.

[kontact] [Bug 458524] New: Issuing a counter proposal uses the wrong identity

2022-08-30 Thread Aaron Williams
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458524

Bug ID: 458524
Summary: Issuing a counter proposal uses the wrong identity
   Product: kontact
   Version: 5.21.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: calendar
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: aar...@doofus.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I was invited to a meeting (Microsoft Exchange) and when I click "Counter
proposal" and enter a new time, the email is rejected because it is using a
different identity than what is associated with the account.

I have three accounts set up, one for home, one for an organization I belong
to, and one for work. Even though this is with the work account the sending
email address is from the home identity.

It should use the same account/identity as it was received from.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have multiple accounts
2. Have an exchange IMAP account (not first account)
3. Receive an inventation for a meeting
4. Click "Counter proposal" button
5. Change the time of the meeting
6. Click OK
7. See notification that says, "E-Mail Sending Failed Failed to transport
message. Server error: 5..7.8 Username and Password not accepted. LEarn more
at...
8. Open outbox folder (in my case, it's one of the Local Folders).
9. Open the email that is supposed to go out.
10. See that the "From" is from my personal email account, not the account
(work) where the message was received.
OBSERVED RESULT
It is using the wrong identity for the counter proposal.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect it to use the same identity from which the original invitation was
received.

Can reproduce. Either a recent regression in Discover, or there really is
something wrong on that server. Needs a webby person to take a look.
